Sexually Explicit RP and Inappropriate Chat

What circumstances led to this ban?

Leading up to the transgressions that happened, two pieces of context must be given. First of all, my character is an incredibly crude speaker. I keep this crudeness in RP only, and have been known to stop if people point out being uncomfortable. Second of all, he is extremely loyal to the people he considers good acquaintances, having taken action IRP from IRP racist remarks. Again, this should be stated that this all is in reference to being in roleplay, not OOCly.

My character, who is a spook, was in the city of Celia'nor, when his face for his flesh suit was kicked off. Having to 'go to the infirmary', one of said good acquaintances helped him and in which, they began to speak privately at a little table in another section of the city. A guard, who had been making racist remarks to the acquaintance, sat down at the table, asking about the face injury. After prompting him to go away, my character used sign, as to not speak. As they mentioned the guard did not know sign, my character proceeded to insult him, telling him "Your mother sucked me good and hard through my jorts" and "I'll teach you regent the meaning of shitting bricks". After the guard left, me and the person spoke a bit more before I left for a few hours. Coming back, the gates were closed and the said guard was at the gate. Asking to be let in, it turns out they did in fact, know sign. After being told that my character shouldn't insult the regent, he told the guard "Your mother gave me a different kind of head last night, bastard. I'd see if she's okay". Such comment was supposed to be a threat, saying he cut off the head of the guard's mother.

There were then I think 2-3 days in which I was freely playing before I was given the screen "You have been banned for Sexually Explicit RP and Inappropriate Chat". Not only was I baffled, but I had no idea what I had said under that kind of scope that was even remotely close. Contacting the mod who had banned me, I was told it was because of the comments above to the guard, and that "It should be known that things like this can't be said on the server".

Are there aspects of the ban you agree and/or disagree with?

While I do think it shouldn't have been 2 months because of the content of the messages, considering that it was simply all words and nothing more, just empty threats said, I agree that there should have been some repercussions on the terms of what I had said, whether a verbal warning or worse. So, while I do disagree on what the ban reason was placed under, I do want to apologize to anyone who I may have offended, hurt, or made uncomfortable. I like to keep Rp in Rp, and keeping good relations OOC is what I like to try and do. I like to make LOTC a safe place to roleplay and simply enjoy off time, and I agree that I can take my own humor a bit too far sometimes. That is my fault and my fault only, and I do plan to work on such in the future.

What motivates you to return to LOTC?

I have friends there, I had ongoing storylines I was taking part in. I was learning alchemy so I could make my way to smoggers to promote role-play and good villainy. I wanted to be parts of communities, almost like a looming threat of sorts to make sure people have driving forces IRP. I worked to make fun CRP and encounters that were memorable and exciting, and want to continue making them.

Is anyone put off by people saying that “groomers are not a product of FTB”? I get the mindset, but sexual FTB is an open gateway on this server which can allow them to guilt trip minors into scenes which shouldn’t even be allowed on the server. Sure people can go to discord, but if we give groomers less avenues of predation and harm, more hoops to jump through, then wouldn’t doing that be better than nothing? The state of sexual FTB now is nothing short of horrid and hilarious. Numerous times I’ve been told jokes and horror stories about people being pulled into sexual FTBs and seeing them cause they caught a whisper emote in some elven/human kingdom. If we see that FTB is a Main Street for some of these things, then a ban on it will make groomers have to make a detour, sure. But it’s better than doing nothing and letting the safety of the minors in this community have their safety endangered by people with bad intentions.

Also? Why do we need sex on the server??? Rules like “certain CAs can’t have sexual relationships” shouldn’t need to exist but do because sexual FTBs are so oddly prominent

Through RP, my character has been shown to be a crude speaker, and to not respect others. While I keep OOC friendly, the ban was because of me saying "Your mother sucked me good and hard through my jorts", "I'll teach you regent the meaning of shitting bricks", and "Your mother gave me a different kind of head last night". This was in response to IRP racism that was happening to said character's friend. I only figured this out after a no warning, 2-month ban back in October. After speaking to the mod who banned me, only then was I told of why I was banned.

Are there aspects of the ban you agree and/or disagree with?

This ban should have not been for 2 months. I have no priors except a warning in petty theft, I was given 0 information into why I was banned, and I've seen people get 2-weeks for more. Had it been a meme-rp ban, I would have understood, but this felt like it was ridiculous without having any kind of priors, only being told "It should be known things like this can't be said on this server". While I harshly disagree with the reasoning behind this ban and the decisions made after such, I do apologize to anyone I may have offended or hurt with the posts I did. I want to make LOTC a safer place to role-play, and while I can go far with some humor sometimes, I do agree that I can go a step too far sometimes. That's my fault and my fault only.

As a common 'man' comes across the missive, he thinks for a moment. Alchemical knowledge would be good, but he had no need for any kind of knowledge on the body. Thinking for a moment, they smiled and ran off to find letter paper and a charcoal pencil. Once done, they would send a letter.

Such is at your disgression, but I do ask this. I have not the need to know about the body, but I wish to learn the way of the machine. Long such have flesh and bone bored me, but the machine? Such is almost eternal is it not? The dwarves peach such and speak about it as if the machine is a god in it's own right. So if you could, teach me such ways.

Something less of a man and more of a corpse reads this missive that was publicly spread. He wondered if this was some kind of trick to lure in creatures of the dark. Then again, he could have cared less. One less abomination was one less person he may have had to deal with.
