  1. Welcome to the server man!

Hope you enjoy LOTC, and if you check around the forums you’ll see there’s lot of different things to do around here, post your content, comment on others, do forum roleplay, you name it.

Anyway welcome to the community and I hope to stumble across you IRP ✌️

  2. Brandt Bharclay smiles for a moment as he sees the newer publication of the short literary piece he read some months ago. His smile then stretches into a straight line as he reads the first sentence of the parchment. With his head dipped down and eyes closed, the young man remembers the recent battles against the heathens. "Mögen sie in Frieden ruhen!" he whispers to himself, wishing the bravely fallen a rest in peace as he then prepares to read the extended version of the story excitedly, though not too happily.

  3. Though not being the greatest and most dedicated lover of arts in Arcas, Brandt Barclay took a minute to look at the missive, and then some more minutes to think. The  man then prepared and counted some of the money to set aside to send ”Perhaps ich could get some help fur them if I need it later” He would say before starting to write a letter which he’d send along with 750 mina to Bianca

    Greetings lady Bianca,

After stubmling upon your missive, I could nicht help myself but to feel ein feeling of duty and neccessity to help a person in need, and an artist nontheless. For this reason I send you the sum of money coming with this letter, dearly hoping it finds you well. There will be nicht commission required for me at this time, though ich do hope this donation will help you to your feet and back on your trade so that I may purchase your services if I ever need to.

    Godan be with you!

    Lord Brandt Barclay von Reinmar

    OOC:

Send me an in-game message at GoodGuyMatt_ whenever you around to get the mina

  4. Heyo o7

So I was looking to get an armor skin done!

Paying with mina... as for the amount, since the quality depends on the pay, then you name how much it’d cost for the skin to look good good. Esentially I’m looking for an armor that doesn’t look clunkly, has good detail and shading, and overall doesn’t look too squary if you know what I mean. Not looking for the most expensive service you can offer, but a good one... and the mina won’t be a problem long as it’s not ridiculous.

Now, as for the details... essentially looking for the upper body armor to look like this:

So the metal itself I’d prefer to be relatively dark, and the blue and yellow coat of arms with the strap should be good. The little shield-looking piece (by his chest... I don’t know its exact name) is not neccessary if you don’t want to put it.

As for the legs you can go freestyle if you wish and fit it in with the rest, though if you require another reference for that, I think this one will be satisfactory:

I suppose that’s just about it, you can also go ahead and add it a nice helmet for some extra pay if you want (the one on the second pic is alright unless you want to do something different)

So all in all just want a really good work that doesn’t look clunky or bold, as well as the details above. 🙂

  5. Drinking Medley

    ---------- “OF THE LOST!” ----------

    [!]

After the Great Battle of The North – as some would call it – against Bralt’s Scyfling’s army, Brandt Barclay, one of the soldiers who participated on both the cavalry front, and the battle near Othaman keep, suffered both the loss of his left eye, and wounds on his stomach.

After being sent to Reza’s clinic from the battlefield, Brandt spent some days there... resting and recovering. Once the wounded soldier was now better, he raised from his bloodied bed, wore his clothes, and headed for the Crow’s Hearth Tavern alone, where he found just what he was looking for... alcohol to fill the newly dug hole of sorrow and woe in his chest.

One bottle of Carrion went empty the man, and so did the second, the third, up until a small portion of the Barclays’ hidden sadness was filled. Being heavily drunk at this point, his mood started swinging, his mind not knowing what to feel, how to act or what to think.

With his newfound and indifferent mood, out of nowhere, the young man started singing as he’d continue his drinking. More and more would he sing, the words somehow surprisingly understandable if one were to hear them, even though the man was drunk.

The melodies of the drunken medley were almost celebratory, if not merry and happy, sticking to the artificially found happy mood of the one-eyed Barclay. However, was one to take note of what was being said, they’d understand the true meaning and feelings behind the songs, the narration of the last battles against the Scyfling heathens....

which he’d then take the time and write down on a piece of paper, so he could pen it down and stick it around Haense’s boards.

    “OF THE LOST”

    by Brandt Barclay

    [Verse 1]

Oh you can search far and wide
You can drink the Empire dry
But you’ll never find a drink so dark
Oh you’ll never find a drink so dark
As the one we chug in Reza’s town
As the one we chug in Reza’s town
You can keep your fancy ales
You can shove them up your arses
But the only drink for the brave and true…
    Comes from Crow’s Hearth Inn!!

    [Verse 2]

Hey! Ho! To the Carrion I go
To drink my mind and numb my woe
    Scyflings come and Scyflings go
But there still be many Wars to flow
Strong is the taste of the Carrion Black
And the sound of the steel from hill to plain
To numb the pain for the bravely lost
Turn to the drink with speed utmost.

    [Verse 3]

Sharp the knives, straight the blades
Loosen bolts and burn the corks
Mighty Hanseti go forth with haste
That’s how Bralt we will defeat!

    [Verse 4]

    Ludovar, the Brotherhood
Leave the sorrow on the bedroom mat
For the fight that’s yet to come
For there’s work for us to do

Dump the rags in the molotovs
Take up a lighter and fire it whole
And when it’s finished allow it roll
Send them down on Scyfling’s backs

    ...
That’s how Bralt we will defeat!

    [Verse 5]

    There’s a field, there’s a field, there’s bloody old field
    Beneath Othaman keep
And there we fought a war so bold
That Godan himself would weep and cry
Three nights to feel the woe!

    Oooooh
The Scyfling has a tipsy spear
Which he shoves towards my gut
And up and down he swings and blows
Now quickly hiiigh, now heavy lowww...
    Now aiming for the middle!
But, brothers I have, who watch out my sides
For whom I would go to the dead
He grunted and he moved and he heightened his shield
While the heathen attempted to make me for the dead
    Niet this day!” he said
    Now quicker the steel
    Went axe-against-shield
    The bull began to roar
The arrows and the bolts went to its head
The cavalry all bounded from their mares,

    And marksmen they became.
The scyflings pushed behind the hills

As the sun raised up their heads
We hardly believed our fiery eyes

For they were many to our surprise

    ...
    We went back to Reza!

  6. Brandt Barclay shed a tear as he’d hear of Aleksandra’s situation whilst she’d be brought into the clinic by her brother. Hurt and unable to do or move much himself, the Barclay whispered the following in Waldanian ”Ruhe in Frieden” as he’d remember to the blurry and brief, though memorable time in both the Scyfling camp and Hanseti tavern with the bravely fallen.

  7. Brandt Barclay cheers at the Hanseti poetry as he stumbles across it, trying to read it with his one and only functional eye. Bobbing his head from side to side whilst he red, it appeared the Barclay already had the melody of the song running through his veins.

  8. Brandt Barclay stumbles upon the literary piece, and decides to read it over close to the forge fire of the Hanseti smithy. Seeming to appriciate it, his head bobs lightly numerous times, his features expressing interest and surprise "Would nicht mind reading ein chronicles of this" he mumbled to himself after finishing his reading, and then going on about his usual business

  9. Might have been a better idea to just make an official doc going through the basics so that everyone could acess it... or tbh just rework CRP and maybe make it less subjective and add more concrete rules... at this point I feel that it’s so subjective that even people who have recieved training can still just powergame quite easily, and maybe even get away with it, doing so intentionally or otherwise.

I mean I understand the openness is the beauty of it, but it can also very easily be its ruin. At times we just need a more concrete system to understand what’s doable and what’s not, taking into consideration character experience, injuries, buffs, debuffs, and all that RPG type stuff.
