The ever-illiterate and halfstrung guttersnipe and ragamuffin known by himself as Fyrrathúl aep Nowhere exclaims “Wow!” and screws his face into a frown when he sees just how many young children that is, the mali’ker-of-fortune’s widened greyed eyes aged far below their years remained keen and nimble enough to recognise some words despite his inability to read.

And if they don’t give you the time of day right away, keep trying, you’ll find a group of people who appreciate you. I know right now it seems like you might be invisible, but put yourself out there and you’ll see just how fast life can turn around.

it could be anywhere. there isn’t a group on the server that i don’t like hanging out with, ic and ooc shenanigans aside.

  3. Fyrratil of the thousand thumbs, dark-elf guttersnipe of ill repute and iller education, is ceremoniously hoisted into the voting building atop a wooden table, the Everardine stalwarts Amadeus d’Aryn and Conrad Barclay gripping either side of the table as they rhythmically bounce the piece of coffee-resting furniture to the unmistakable tune of heavy Imperial trumpeters. Each step a bounce to the staccato beat of the music, the elf is careful to keep his balance as his Everardine friends parade him into the polling-booth.

“And they’ll count my vote?” he asks the Everardine bruisers. “Even though I’m a dark elf?”

“That is how voting works, yes.” They reply in muted turn, each voice in tune with the next. It seems that men of such grand genius were tuned to the same frequency, marching – although now literally – to the same beat. Is there nothing that these men could not do? The elf mused, polling card in unreading hand, expecting such a piece of mystical technology of the valah to imbue itself with his psyche, whatever political essence stowed in the echoing corners of his skull, brow veins pulsing in angered concentration while awaiting for the box to fill itself in.

Relenting to his belief as being fantasy alone, the elf ticks the blue Everardine one and dunks it into the box with the practiced skill of a mali-ball power-forward.

Kinda cringe seeing people claim ‘ownership’ over a magic they’ve done nothing to save and made no proactive effort to rewrite themselves over the past YEAR since loregames began.

Kinda cringe to see somebody defend a lore piece just because the piece exists.

Regardless of my opinion on this lorepiece, MA and TA wipes are very common for dead and dying magic groups.

I don’t know if you're being purposefully ambiguous or just trying to eek out a quick dopamine hit by addressing a point nobody is making. The issue here is that Kaleheart wants to wipe MAs and TAs and to personally police who uses what was previously a reasonably widely spread magic, those with access outside of “his group” of inactive mage RPers being a paltry few “handpicked” people being unnecessarily “grandfathered in”. You’re being obscenely disingenuous by ignoring the fact that Kaleheart is trying to feed into the same magic RPer clique-ism that has plagued the server for years because you’re trying to drop epic owns such as “uh write your own lore if you dont like it -_-“ against people like the high elves who are trying to protect their established communities.

In fact, if you have suggestions on who I should consider grandfathering, contact me and I will see about it- frankly that would be quite helpful.

The only suggestion I can give you for this is to rework your lore to have it adapt to the current setting instead of requiring scorched earth to force its applicability. A wipe of all TAs and MAs for a widely used magic should be the nuclear option and not the port of first call.

Anyway thank you all for your input and I will consider it going forwards.

    :DDDD:DDD please reply to me too!! u replied around me!!! 😞 😞 😞 😞

Why did you not just make the requirement tier 3 in Arcanism instead of “one other Voidal magic,” having this as replacement (or even supplemental) lore for t3+ Arcanism instead of razing all Arcanism MA and TAs?

As a reimagining of an established lore instead of a replacement lore piggybacking on being nominally similar to another magic, it should bridge the existing Arcanism community into a rewrite instead of gassing them and giving your friends free pass while you also “determine a few others who could also help spread the magic outside of [your] group.”

You’re doing a passable rewrite of celestialism a disservice by trying to slip in provisos to police extant magic communities outside of “your group”. While a middling excuse is the cultural differences and “Four Studies” being somehow impossible for established Arcanists to adhere to (while also being possible for students of the magic to ??), your waxing lyrical about allowing it for your group while “determining a few others who could also help spread” the magic renders this app transparently cliquish.

You’ve made your own lore radioactive because of your prejudices and I don’t understand why this app is pretending to be in good faith.

    - A would-be Celestialist must be at least tier [3] in one other Voidal magic to learn.

    10 hours ago, Kalehart said:

Due to the dissimilarity to previous incarnations and the significant cost to characters possessing it, I will be instituting an MA and TA wipe for Arcanism alongside this rewrite should it be accepted. This is also necessary due to the restrictions it places on character behaviour, which will not be compatible with many current Arcanist characters. An MA and TA wipe is, I will be very clear, completely vital.

Why come you don’t just make the requirement tier 3 in Arcanism instead of “one other Voidal magic” and have this as replacement lore for t3+ Arcanism instead of razing all Arcanism MA and TAs?  It just doesn’t make sense to me that this wouldn’t be the case in an initial rewrite for something functioning as a reimagining of Arcanism.

It simply makes sense to adapt an existing lore on the server to best bridge established Arcanist RPers into using it instead of shafting these players by making them relearn a not-dissimilar magic to continue RPing these characters and cultures.

Doing so retains the place of Celestialism as something of an Arcanism-mastery magic instead of a standalone magic without further gassing player-bases that have Arcanism as integral to their culture (see; helves).

Beyond appearing like a rework for higher-tier (t3+) arcanism masquerading as a stand-alone magic, to call it a “merging” of Arcanism while necessitating a gassing of the Arcanism playerbase really does render this as something pretty unnecessarily vindictive. It’s almost as if that last page is written by somebody who likes the idea of Arcanism but dislikes Arcanist players.

  10. Sir Veikko Harjalainen, galant man-about-town, keeps the missive tucked in his breast pocket, matching it with some careful precision-placement as to make the title of the missive available at eye-level. Should a daring lady meet his gaze as he makes his way to the patisseries of the urban cobbles, she would surely swoon at such sight of a moustachéd Harrenite man who cares about hand fans and equality and all that other ****

    A Josephite View on Party-Politics

Inked by William Wimble, actual burgher.

    ***

My good friend Sir Duke Liberius of Norjun, when we are talking of the malice posed by the conception of political parties within the Empire, very frequently tells us about an accident that happened to him when he was a fat-cheeked school-boy, which was at a time when the Emperor War ran high between the Josephites and Godfreyites.

This worthy Knight, being at the time but an unlearned man of thirty years, had the need to ask which was the way to Emperor Joseph Lane due to an urgent appointment with a bottle of gin and some fine wax crayon, upon which the poor-person whom he spoke to, instead of answering his Question, called him a young Joey Fool, and asked him just who had decided to make Joseph an Emperor.  The boy, being in some confusion, asked the next man he found which was the way to Joseph’s Lane; but was called an elf-blooded craven for all his pains and good graces, and instead of being shown the way was told that he had been a Emperor before the Sir-Duke was born, and would be one after he was hanged. Upon this happening, says Sir Duke, he did not think it appropriate to continue to repeat the question, but instead going into every lane of the neighbourhood, asking the washer-women and other street vermin what they called the name of that lane. By this ingenious artifice he found the place he asked after, without giving offence to any party and with only a six hour delay to his meeting, his wax dinner still warm on plate.

There therefore cannot be a greater fate to befall a country than such a dreadful spirit of division as renders a government into two distinct people and makes them greater strangers and more averse to one another than if they were actually two different nations.  The effects of such a division are pernicious to the last degree, not only with regard to those advantages which they give the common Norderling enemy, but to those private evils which they produce in the heart of almost every particular political-person. This influence is very fatal both to men’s morals and their understandings; it sinks the virtue of our empire, and not only so, but destroys even what remains of their common sense.

It is from this spleen and rancour so generated that the Sir-Duke implores the men of the Everardines to show the Canon Virtues of Compassion, Humanity and Listening To Him, wherein they may serve as the political horse-glue to fix the rending of the bipartite state of the Empire through voting for the Josephite Party and ending the Divisionary Nonsense plaguing the Politics of the Realm. Please.

HARJALAINEN V. THE IMPERIAL TREASURY (Carrington et al.)

    SIR VEIKKO HARJALAINEN,
    Represented pro se,

    DESIRES TO SUMMON THE FOLLOWING PARTY BEFORE THE SUPREME COURT;

    THE IMPERIAL TREASURY

    WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE FOLLOWING RELEVANT PARTIES;

    Green Carrington,

    Peter Sarkozy,

    Lt. Dax Illiquin,

    Sir Adrian Roussard,

    Gen. Alren DeNurem,

    Mary Philippa D’Arkent-Carrington,

    Theodore Mane.

ON THE BASIS OF THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLE(S), DOCTRINE(S), EDICT(S) OR ARTICLES OF LAW:

304.031 - Private documents shall have the same value as a deed between those who executed it and their successors.

304.012 - Obligations arise from law and contract.

304.022 - If a person obliged to do something has not done it, it is ordered to be done at his expense.

204.0101 - Where an individual intentionally or negligently fails to abide by the terms of a written or verbal contract, misleads regarding its terms, or provides insufficient

consideration for its completion, to the detriment of another, and this detriment is of great amounts, this shall be fraud in the first degree. (Class P)

305.052 - No contracts shall be rescinded as a result of injury, unless the injury is a result of a fraudulent contract.

202.061 - Where an individual knowingly disseminates false information about an individual, without intent to harm the reputation of that individual, this shall be defamation in the third degree. (Class E)

    FACTS

    I. THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE CASE

    BREACH OF CONTRACT

    1. Drafted by the Treasury, 13th of Harren’s Folly, 1754, the Imperial Reserve was established by the Peter Sarkozy (Hereafter Sarkozy), then treasurer of the empire, and Sir Veikko Harjalainen (Hereafter Harjalainen), with the following competency;

“5% of two saint week’s finalized sum (deposited from the Imperial treasury’s fluctuating finances) shall be kept to the Imperial Reserve, to be used in cases of national emergency or when proposed by a congregation of the Council of State.”

    1. This competency was affirmed within THE IMPERIAL DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY BI-ANNUAL REPORT, As issued the 16th of the DEEP COLD, 1756, wherein the then-Deputy Secretary of the Treasury did  state;

As an organisation aimed to uphold the integrity of the Imperial treasury, it shall be tasked with accumulating a 10% amount of the bi-yearly treasury income

    1. These establish proof of contract between Veikko Harjalainen, named as ‘Warden of the Reserve’ and the Imperial Treasury (no person specifically named, thus the seat of office being the contracting party) as per 304.012.

    1. Following the resignation of Peter Sarkozy from position as Secretary of the Treasury no such payments were made; see ledger.

    EXTORTION

    1. The Reserve and The Imperial Loan Office functioned symbiotically, see article titled “Imperial Loan Office (IT) Est. 1761”, wherein it states “Loan can be made out in the form of Minas or through Imperial Reserve Notes.”

    1. These loans drew from the Imperial Reserve and not the treasury.

    1. The Imperial Reserve loaned over fifteen thousand minae, with ten thousand to Dax Illiquin, Lieutenant of the Imperial State Army.

    1. On dismissal from office Carrington approached Harjalainen with multiple armed persons, including Gen. DeNurem, to recover paid “funds” with full knowledge that through both Harjalainen being forced to run the Reserve from his own pocket and the loans department sanctioned by Carrington, that such money simply did not exist.

    1. This is further evidenced by THE CROWN v. SIR VEIKKO HARJALAINEN wherein no evidence is produced to substantiate any claim made, standing as 202.061 defamation of the first degree due to there being no factual basis of the accused infringements of law.

    1. Referring to the Plaintiff’s own money as “stolen” is a legal conclusion and therefore dissemination of false information.

II.  RELEVANT IMPERIAL LAW AND PRACTICE

304.031 Stands as relevant imperial law due to the implication of successors as signatories, should Carrington claim that the Treasury-Harjalainen contract was interpersonally instead of between the office of the Treasury and Harjalainen.

304.012 Stands as relevant due to the contract between the Treasury and Harjalainen stipulating an obligation of 5% of the imperial revenue over a biannual period to be paid into the reserve.

304.022 Stands as relevant due to the unfulfilled obligation of the Treasury.

204.0101 Stands as relevant due to the Treasury negligently failing to abide by the terms of the Treasury-Harjalainen contract, further providing insufficient consideration for its completion to the detriment of Harjalainen. Due to these being over 10 000 minae, it is to be considered great amounts.

305.052 Stands as relevant Imperial Law as the contract between the two parties was rescinded due to perceived injury by Carrington.

202.061 Stands as relevant Imperial Law as Carrington published legal conclusions without any authority to do so, misrepresenting Harjalainen with no evidentiary basis.

    DISCOVERY

    1. The Plaintiff wishes the court to be provided with ledgers to establish the nonpayment by the treasury following the dismissal of Sarkozy.

    1. The Plaintiff wishes the court to be provided with the evidence substantiating Carrington’s “theft of 50,000 Imperial Marks” claim.

    1. The Plaintiff wishes the court to be provided with the evidence substantiating the “None of these marks were received by the Treasury.” claim.

    DAMAGES

The plaintiff seeks damages for the period of his tenure as Warden of the Imperial Reserve from 1754 to 1763. In respect of pecuniary damage, he seeks 10 000 Imperial Marks for loss of personal finances due to the mismanagement by Carrington, which sum represented a rate of 1112 Imperial Marks per annum over that period of nine years.
