  1. "All of these Valah nations sounds the same." Spoke a noble warrior of the Sillumiran as he sat upon his steed, awaiting for any who dare come across his path on the Nevaheln roads. "Atleast use a unique banner, I thought this was some Orenian lord's army at first until I remembered who Aeltarys was. Using Legion makes you sound Aaunic."

I'm Warden Loyalist (With the exception of two vacation wars to Colonials) and have been playing since W86.

I help run one of the Oldest and Largest Coalitions on the Warden Faction, SUNDIAL and help co-lead the regiment [NIGHT] during low pop.

If you ever run into [NIGHT] ★ LegionnaireLupa in game, that's me.

To all those Colonials in here, Mortars unlock tonight and i'm coming for you >:)

    You're a ******* Spud nerd??? I can't believe I went to ST events with a Moidawg fan

Anyways, I've not played Foxhole for a few months now but Wardens all the way.

  3. I voted for "Should be less then an hour" but personally I don't want any announcements at all, everytime i've seen a raid announced beforehand the raiders got outrallied so hard they had no possible chance of winning (saying this as a defender everytime)

So genius! I shall be chained to the monitor!

On a more serious note, current system is an atrocious RP killer that provides nothing of benefit (beyond the ores) to anyone who participates in it. Spending few hours just to get a couple of stacks of ore is mind numbing. I could have spent that time RPing.

And the delusion is that this makes nations trade is unreal. Most deals are just done "hey you want this? Yeah let's do it 1:1" you meet and swap mats is all.

Either have the ores deposit into your Kingdom vault, have it be a resource pit. Or have it deposit at the mine itself so at least you can RP guarding the mines. Anything beyond waiting 15 minutes for a node reset PLEASE

As someone who does a lot of grinding, I am also someone who has done a lot of RP, quit your whining, if you don't want the resources, no one is forcing you.

Maybe it's time to pull a m******craft and make a separate ecosystem entirely for the pvpers

Lotc used to have warzones for wars, places where no rp happened and pvp was always on if the person had a different status as you, most PVPers where content with sitting in those all day, they should to bring it back

Can we have the auction house back.... that's like the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that I would personally like to see back on the server

Having AH off the server has been a big + imo, saying this as a person who made most his mina off AH last map.

if you wanna trade, now you gotta go and RP in another city with your goods

more pvp bureaucracy wont solve the issue, and really it's time we eliminate pvp all together. anticipated issues of time commitment in combat don't exist when you can take a minute to emote, roll through a tc-esque system, repeat. definitely more time consuming than pvp, but it actually honors your character and roleplay, especially with growth derived stats, and still remains faster and easier to reach a common consensus on than crp. you can't argue or modshop against numbers

I disagree about removing pvp altogether, as someone who tries to balance rp and pvp (I.E, I Enjoy pvp but I also recognize this is an rp server) there’s certain points where you just need to pvp instead of crp, points where there’s too many people

Still an odd and disturbing thing to roleplay out from an ooc point of view.

Well, depends. If it’s race related slavery (especially if you’re like… taking a dark elf as a slave because they’re a dark elf) then that’s weird I agree, but if you’re just taking a slave because they’re a prisoner of war, then i’m fine with it

Posting our community on the forums as slaves and encouraging slave roleplay. Where are their infractions?

slave rp is not oocly banned, but every nation has outlawed it because of the weird shit that happens oocly because of it.

same thing happened in Oren early Almaris, no one got any infractions iirc

  10. People are complaining about stuff that has been around forever and for some reason had only now gotten to be an issue.

    “gates are always closed”

yeah, because raiders can come in and slaughter your population if you keep them open, this has been a thing since before I began playing

”Raid weapons give raiders too much an advantage”

eh maybe, iirc you can only bring 3 and even then a ladder can only go up so far, though I agree defenders need ways to fight against it without straight up deleting them.

“Everyones in their own little circles”

again, a thing that has been around since before I began playing, when I was a new player I’d reach out and RP with everyone I could but quickly realized whose in what cliche, it’s why I personally don’t like Haense.

And others. Personally i’m fine however, if I never checked the forums i’d have no way of knowing the blights of Lotc because to me, Aevos has so far treated me best out of Arcas or Almaris, so far Aevos has been nothing but fun and positivity for me and I feel as if there has not been a culture shift that so many people claim and I’ve put too much time into lotc in the last week (1 day, 22 hours as I type this)

edit; I’ve done some thinking, and honestly some nations have gates open 24/7, I’ve never seen Krugmar close their gate except for during a pvp raid, I’ve never seen Lurin or Aaun close their gates, and the onlytime Urguan has closed its gates is when they captured the Norlandic King and wanted to ensure people couldn’t get in (they still did, Sneaky got killed by a Norlander so the Urguanites couldn’t get it lmao)

to nations that I’ve encountered only closed gates, such as Norland or Balian, they usually (not always) have someone close by who can let you in, and when it comes to where I currently RP the most (hnor) if there isn’t someone around to open gates, there’s almost always someone on discord your can ping and get the attention of

I'm just gonna jump in here real quick. Respectfully, I'm not celebrating the fact that only 17% of the poll-answers are in approval of the moderation team. I don't understand how it is dismissive. I am actively trying to make changes in my leadership philosophy as I solicit feedback from my team & the playerbase as a whole. If there is an outcry, I haven't seen or heard it up until last night when I posted the poll.

I realize that my tendency to be passive aggressive and point out hypocrisies on the forums can make people feel like I'm unapproachable. If people feel that the moderation team or server rules are going in a direction that is unhealthy for the longevity of our server — please reach out to me. Recently, other admins have been sending me some feedback that people have sent them, and it's very difficult for me to understand it without context or having a discussion with the player who is concerned.

I'm free for the next couple of days and I'll be out of town Friday-Sunday. If anyone wants to VC and provide me with constructive feedback feel free to reach out to me on discord.

honestly I feel like people think your unapproachable because the players of LOTC

    1. Have no social skills

    2. don’t like confrontation.

i’ve never been staff, or really anyone with power while on lotc yet in Mid-Almaris I remember whenever I did something that would upset someone they would never DM me to resolve it, instead opting to DM one of my well known good friends who’d then confront me about the issue instead, you could probably be the best Admin ever, friendly and kind too, but that red tag will always be intimidating

I think the vicious divide between pvp and crp will continue on until defined roll-style combat gets passed that feeds both the competitive drive and honors rp sufficiently. Thronecraft, for being a horrible experience for everyone involved, did have that going for it

Thronecraft sucked looking back on it, but I met a few good friends on it (some of which I still talk to and RP with today)

the one thing Thronecraft 100% has over on LOTC is its combat, even if it was long
