    The Huntsmen

Role play Name: Akhule Zoldromair Race: Dark Elf Age: 92 Desired role: Hunter Reason for enlistment: The opportunity to bring peace to the land, as well as getting to fight some interesting opponents along the way seems like it could be a good way to have some good times. On top of that, my swordsmanship and bowman ship could use a little honing on the mechanics and the forms so I figured that here would be a good place to train with them and put them to good use. Akhir is a mountain dwarf of the Grandaxe clan who once lived in the city of Kal’Tarak, but is now seeking a more adventurous lifestyle. He wishes to view the world, help others in danger and in need, and to test his survival skills as he once again journeys through the wilderness. Akhir has recently heard of a new settlement, more of a camp than a town, near Belvitz that is being erected by a fellow dwarf of the Grandaxe clan is going to go and find out what he can do to maybe secure lodging there and see if the people in the nearby towns would like any help from their new neighbor. Akhir is not a particularly religious dwarf, but he still believes in Yemekar’s Balance and the order that goes along with it. Like most dwarves, he is loyal to his clan and to those few close people whom he truly considers friends. He values honor extremely highly and will only ever alter his word when his clan or honor is at stake. He will never break a blood oath even if death is the only honorable way to preserve his dignity in the given circumstances and will protect others with a zeal most people would consider suicidal. From the past he has taken many a blow for his clan and friends, but none were more deserving of remembrance than the scar that runs diagonally across his back from his right hip to the left shoulder, which he acquired by making a stand against 2 uruks so that his injured comrades could get away. It was a small skirmish and he nearly died of his injuries, but his loyal kin came back for him as soon as physically possible, and saved his life after he saved theirs. The scar is a memento of that time and he will always remember the story. Akhir occasionally tells it to those who ask and have time listen. It should also be noted that he is accepting of most races, with only a distrust for undead and ologs.

There is a part missing to the above 1st interesting fact. It was cut off due to length. Here it is: (He can't hunt, he can barely gather, etc.) He also seeks to accrue knowledge and wisdom.

I first started learning to train with weapons when I was around 10 or 11. It was my parents idea that I start as soon as possible. As customary of our culture the first choice was to test my skill with swords. I was no good with them... all of them. You name it I tried it, dual swords, long swords, greatswords, short swords, claymores, falchions, etc. I was just terrible with them. After a little training in blades and the like I was decent enough with a dagger that they figured maybe I should try to learn archery. I was around average in archery for a 10-11 year old, but my real calling came when I handled my first spear. I was extremely proficient with the spear, being able to outmaneuver and out speed many an opponent, but the blade of the spear still didn't seem to be working for me. So I did the next logical thing. I removed the blade and what I was left with was my first staff. I still liked the idea of having a blade however, for being able to finish enemies with a quick thrust rather than closing with a dagger or just beating them to death, so I adjusted myself a handy little staff (which was a prototype) that acted in all ways like a conventional staff until a button was pressed near the grip. When pressed the button released a catch that in turn tripped a spring into putting a little blade out the far end of my staff for finishing foes. I would soon come to revise this design using knowledge acquired from readings of books while trying to further educate myself on the subject of simple machines and weaponry. I still practice with a bow and staff to this day although I do wish to add another weapon to my arsenal. Knowledge. Knowledge is among the greatest of weapons that has ever been bestowed upon mortals and yet being so young and underexposed to the world I had almost none except in the subjects of my weapons and dark elf culture. So I decided to see the world for myself and see what knowledge could be acquired through a little adventure. I'm sad to say it, but my adventure didn't last very long. The occasional monster or wolf was easy enough to deal with being as I was proficient in my chosen fields of combat, but I had immense difficulty finding food to eat being as I was completely incapable of tracking or killing prey and I had little information about the area and its surroundings to really be able to adapt to the landscape around me. I nearly froze the first night, not to mention almost starving. Not the brightest of ideas to set out on a journey in the beginning of winter. But as the next day progressed I soon came to a farm where the owners were nice enough to take pity on me and offer me shelter and food for the night as well as directions to the nearest city, where I might find information about where I could go to find more information about the world. I soon arrived in the Kingdom of Santegia where I made camp outside of for a couple of days. From the locals I was able to learn the basics of trapping yet when they tried to teach hunting I just got impatient as I also did when they tried to teach me fishing. I still live in a camp outside of Santegia for the time being, but I have recently just been informed that if I want to better learn the ways of nature to survive and together information about anything I can think of then I should go and join the druids. As I said the camp is temporary because if I join the druids then I might have a new place to stay.
