In the year 54 of the Age of Redemption and the Age of Resentment. ☩ BY THE FREE WILL OF THE DUMA AND THE ELECTED MANDATE OF THE EXILIC DUKE, THIS MISSIVE IS ISSUED IN THE SPIRIT OF A UNITED ADRIAN PEOPLE, GUIDED BY THE PRINCIPLES OF HONOR, DUTY, LIBERTY, FRATERNITY, VALOR, AND WISDOM. THROUGH THIS COMMUNICATION, WE SHARE WITH YOU THE AFFAIRS AND STATECRAFT THAT SHAPE OUR FREE AND RESILIENT DUCHY. ‘LO UNTO THE ADRIANS, Adria, heed my call. We have endured hardship in these past years, our beloved Stefan Euler, the Turtle Sage, forced to step down as his health waned; the foul Witch casting terror upon our very own Kingswood; and the Vinovians marching upon our allies, bringing war upon those sworn to our cause. Yet in times of strife, the Adrian spirit does not wane—it endures. With the election of Mateusz Sarkozic, now standing as Exilic Duke of the Adrians, we are called to unity, to stand stronger than ever before. It is with great humility that I, Cahnor de la Baltas, accept the honored station of Marshal of the Greycloaks, entrusted with the revival of this storied order. But no force is mighty without its warriors. To rebuild the Greycloak Watch to the glorious heights it once knew, I must call upon you, the Adrian people. A SUMMONS TO ALL ADRIANS: The time for rallying is now. Our homes, our lands, and our people face threats from within and without, and it is our sacred duty to defend them. We shall not stand idly by while chaos encroaches upon our sovereignty, nor shall we abandon our allies in their hour of need. Thus, I call upon all able-bodied Adrians to take up arms, to join the Greycloak Watch, and to stand as the shield of the Exilic Duchy of Adria. Let it be known that those who take up this charge shall not only defend Adria, but all of Numendil and its allies. If you hear this call and would take up the sword in the name of duty, honor, and Dumacracy, send word to any of the signatories below. RANKS OF THE GREYCLOAK WATCH: CAPTAIN OF THE GREYCLOAK WATCH, hereafter referred to as the CAPTAIN, shall be entrusted with the supreme command of all military forces within the Free Town of Beznov and other Adrian strongholds. He shall organize levies, direct military action, and safeguard Adrian settlements against all threats, foreign and domestic. No force within Adria’s borders shall stand beyond his command in matters of military defense. In his absence, his designated second shall assume temporary command, ensuring the Greycloak Watch remains ever-vigilant. ADJUTANTS OF THE GREYCLOAK WATCH, hereafter referred to as ADJUTANTS, shall serve as the principal officers beneath the Captain, each entrusted with the command of a specific office of the Watch. Appointed by the Captain, these officers shall ensure the efficient functioning of Adrian military affairs, overseeing specialized branches within the regiment. The established offices are as follows: THE OFFICE OF INFORMATION AND LOGISTICS, which shall be charged with the procurement and allocation of supplies, the maintenance of infrastructure, and the organization of strategic planning. THE OFFICE OF RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING, which shall be responsible for enlisting new soldiers, overseeing drills, and ensuring the continual refinement of Adrian martial prowess. THE OFFICE OF FITNESS AND HEALTH, which shall maintain the well-being of the Greycloaks, tending to their injuries, physical conditioning, and combat readiness. INFANTRYMEN OF THE GREYCLOAK WATCH, hereafter referred to as INFANTRYMEN, shall serve as the backbone of the Adrian Armed Forces, standing as the first rank of merit a soldier may attain. Those who prove their dedication and discipline shall be promoted to this station, whereupon they will be expected to maintain order, enforce the peace, and defend Adrian settlements. In their service, they may assist superior officers in recruitment, training, and the oversight of Adrian military operations. TRAINEES OF THE GREYCLOAK WATCH, hereafter referred to as TRAINEES, shall form the entry rank of all enlisted men within the Watch. Until they have proven their worth, they shall undergo rigorous training in discipline, combat, and the duties of an Adrian soldier. Only those who demonstrate commitment and skill shall rise beyond this station, earning their place as a full-fledged Infantryman within the Greycloak Watch. THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE GREYCLOAKS: Unlike other regiments, the Greycloak Watch values brotherhood over rigid formality. While order and structure are upheld, the bond of unity among its ranks is paramount. Thus, enlisted soldiers shall not be required to salute or address their superiors by rigid military titles. Instead, they are to address them as Sir or Ma’am, or by their noble station when applicable. A simple bob of the head shall suffice as an informal greeting, emphasizing respect without pretense. ADRIA STANDS, THE GREYCLOAKS WATCH: The Exilic Duchy shall not stand defenseless. The Greycloak Watch rises once more, and through its ranks, Adrians shall remain sovereign, steadfast, and strong.
