The Kingdom of Haense is where Markus was born, to a family of Hanseti descent. His father being a men-at-arms for a local lord was able to put food on the table and provide a decent education for him and his siblings, making them luckier than most. Growing up as the youngest was definitely not the easiest, where often Markus would find himself rolling around the living space wrestling either of his brothers. When he wasn’t fighting with his siblings he was being told war stories by his great grandfather, specifically about the great northern war that took place around 1600. As a teenager Markus became an armorsmith’s apprentice, learning how to craft breastplates, gauntlets, boots, and other pieces of equipment. While working for his master smith he was taught many things but most importantly he was finally introduced to the Church of Canon. Markus almost instantly fell in love with the church and it’s teaching, finding comfort in going to services. Somewhere down the line he grew to be a strong, zealous man looking for something more out of life. After long contemplation it was decided that he would set out and seek adventure or a more thrilling life.
