    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: When using information in character that have been gathered offtopic ( out of character) to your adantage. For example: Getting told about a large treasure or an event per discord and then logging on to go find it in character without any hint about it ingame would qualify as an act of metagaming.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming can be understood on a broader term then metagaming. On the one hand forcing ones actions upon another character for example can be classified as powergaming ( or poweremotes to be precise ), a good example here would be chopping of someones head without the consent of the other player. On the other hand powergaming can also mean that ones character suddenly shows great knowledge in magic withouht ever having learned it, or using skills he learned in a way no human being could realistically pull off. (For example: A boxer punching a hole in a stonewall with bare fists )

Having been born as the first son of a wealthy family of influential wine merchants in the Holy Orenian Empire ,it would have been expected that he had just carried on with the families busyness after his parents demise. But sometime during his early childhood he got to the conclusion that he was not cut out for the job. While his parents were both higly respected and charismatic negotiators, he had always been the more reclusive one. Preferring the company of well written literature over the other kids in his neighbourhood he quickly gained a reputation, being henceforth avoided and even bullied by most of the others. Since he has never been gifted with a strong physique, they found an easy target in him. 

 

Having lived like this for a few years he finally decided to take destiny into his own hands, confronting his father Fernando with his decision to not become the head of the families enterprise. While he was not exstatic about the decision of his son, he could see his reasoning behind it and therefore paid the local herbalists for the tuition that Lucien so desperately desired.

 

Now that he succesfully absolved his short tuition, he decided to leave his hometown for a journey with nothing on him but his clothes, his newly aquiered knowledge, a pendant marking his allegiance to the church of the canon and a whole lot of wanderlust.

Physical Description: Black curly hair, pale skin, lean build but not at all muscular, amber coloured eyes, 1,7 m.( 5,5f) , 55kg (121 lbs), benevolent facial features,
Roleplay Scenario:

*For a few seconds Lucién doesn't seem to respond, seemingly baffled by the sudden aproach of the complete stranger he eyes him with a wrinkled forehead* "N-Not really.. " *He begins responding with a reserved and muffled intonation, averting his eyes from the man in front of him he begins scraping the back of his head. After a short pause he ends the sentence*" .. any of that.. No I am actually looking for a vendor of fine herbs.. Would you mind showing me the way?"
