OR years have I, Theodosia Helen Barclay, listened to the people of Reinmar. For years have I searched for a way to give back to the good citizens that have so willingly assisted my husband. Since my youth I have yearned to follow the Lord’s mission and feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the needy. Though my roots aren’t necessarily Waldenic, I have studied the culture and tried to assimilate as briskly as possible, to understand the citizen’s of Alfred’s realm. In my studies, I have grown a fond interest in the styles that the men and women of Reinmar alike choose to wear. I have decided to take it upon myself to replicate such fashion with my newfound interest in sewing.

You may be wondering, if you are still reading, how my interests and hobbies have any association with you? Well, quite a lot, in truth. All I seek is to improve the lives of others, and with such a reason - I present, to those who are in need of a new wardrobe, FREE GOWNS AND GARBS!

For the ladies I have an assembly of two practical, modest outfits that represent both Waldenic culture and Reinmaren pride.

Throughout the esteemed reign of my ancestors, the House of Bihar has been blessed with many virtuous servants in their eternal quest to champion the Highland peoples. Foremostly among these servants in recent history are the Great Houses of Baruch of Valwyck, who have stood as the foremost governors and legislators of the realm for centuries; Ruthern of Vidaus, who have stood as the unflinching bulwark of Haense since they brought the Kongzem back from the grave in the miraculous Greyspine Rebellion; and Barclay of Reinmar, who, despite the relative youth of their bloodline, have defined their military and tactical prowess from the fires of the War of the Two Emperors to the cementation of the Kongzem as humanity’s foremost power in the Successors’ War. 

It is the Great House of Barclay who shall form the subject of this Decree.

Long have the Reinmaren been scattered across the realms of Almaris and Aevos, serving various lieges under various names, namely the Sutican dynasty, the Savoyard bannermen of Freimark, and the Aaunish bulwark of Minitz. The Duke of Reinmar has approached the Crown with a request; To gather these disparate tribes under a single banner, and to live as one behind their own walls. 

It is as the Protector and Lord of the Highlanders that I grant the Reinmaren their wish. The Ducal House of Barclay shall, at the conclusion of the Covenant War, be released from their oaths of fealty to the Dual-Kingdom. The Reinmaren are permitted at once to join their brethren in the Principality of Minitz in preparation for their exodus into the hinterland. All titles currently held by the Ducal House of Barclay shall be gifted to the Duke of Reinmar upon the signing of a final agreement between the Reinmaren and the Crown of Hanseti-Ruska. Any lands associated with said titles shall be forfeit.

The Siege of Fredericksburg

To The Reinmaren People:
 

On this day, a force of Reinmar Horsemen rode down to the steps of the fortified keep of House von Theonus with the Grand Covenant against the forces of Veletz and their allies. The action started with a devastating Covenant volley of cannon fire, trebuchet, and arcane power directed at the enemy’s own siege weaponry and their meager fortifications of dirt and stone. The Reinmaren Warband, standing five-hundred strong and led by His Serene Highness Leon Barclay and His Princely Grace Alfred Barclay, descended from the Coalition’s fort and stormed the throne room of Castle Aurelian with the rest of our holy host. Those of the green and blue held the throne and courtyard captive as scouts called out the positions of the enemy.

As the throne room and courtyard was completely within Covenant control, our pious band, prayed over and assisted by the Prince-Emeritus and Cardinal of Albarosa, and the Coalition’s own cavalry drove the Horde of the Anathema into a befuddled frenzy and routed them. All but ten cowardly men were slain, those surviving ran as the bodies of their brothers and sisters-in-arms laid scattered among the rubble of the Stassionite keep and surrounding hills. After everything was said and done, victory was taken in hand with the raising of our banner and a cheer, echoed by the Reinmaren Warband before riding back home to live and celebrate another blessed day.

Saint Edmond, as my brothers go to battle over the coming years, grant them fortitude and protect them. Pray for GOD to show mercy to the dead, and that in hoping for victory today, we may win the peace tomorrow.

FREDERICKSBURG

The following is the perspective of Alfred, Duke of Reinmar, during the Siege of Fredericksburg.

The 9th day of Grona and Droba of 512 E.S.

There came the 9th of Tobias’ Bounty, 1959 - Alfred was awoken early in the morning by his wife, who had practically forced him to begin preparations. He led himself to his desk, not one to leave anything undone. Fredericksburg was a risk, probably one that Alfred would be most prone to injury in, credit to his place amongst the cavalry. Once his letters had been aptly written, he donned his armor, seeking out his young son and daughter. For a moment, the future Duchess of Reinmar - the future of his House - rested in his arms, embracing her father in a hug. Alfred let a heavy sigh escape his lips as he guided her back to her cradle.

Once he’d found himself in the streets, men in blue and green lining the walkways that used to form the foundation of Minitz’s Moothall. At their head was Wilhelm, both Hauptmann and Warchief, his leadership unhindered over both Reinmaren Militaries. Wilhelm lifted a glove to his hat, drawing it up and off of his head. He turned to Alfred, who’d suddenly approached him, and took to his side.

The duo conversed for minutes, only hushed whispers were exchanged back and forth. Once the Grand Prince Leon had subsequently arrived with the remainder of his Council - the two Reinmaren Princes approached one another and embraced heartily, Aaunic & Haeseni in union. They loosened the ranks for a time before they departed, gathering in the tavern of Minitz to drink. Alfred and Leon drank Illatian wine, engaging about how they’d topple the walls of Fredericksburg.

Thereafter, Alfred’s memory skipped a beat - taking him to the moment of separation, where Leon diverted the Warband and Order of St. Tylos to unify with King John’s Army in Whitespire. Alfred, Wilhelm, and Michal headed the Landsers von Reinmar, who headed west, crossing the River Petra to unite with the army of Aleksandr II. It was a treacherous trip - however their numbers did not dwindle, nor did they falter.

As Alfred’s host arrived at the gates of Marignan, bordering the siege camp that practically engulfed Stassion in hostile territory - credited to Lemon Hill and the fortifications constructed. They were welcomed by men of the Brotherhood of St. Karl, and at their helm - Leonid Kortrevich. The men of Reinmar were only provided momentary respite before arming themselves to man the walls against the scourge of Stassionite cavalry.

At the behest of Aleksandr II, those pre-emptively assigned to the regiments of cavalry that were intended to strike a returning blow, mounted up. Amongst those ranks were Alfred, his kinsman, Brandt, Olaf von Reinmar, and another relative, Konstantin von Theonus. The detachment rode north, keeping within sight of the keep. Their purpose was only to fend off their opponents until Fredericksburg was aptly shelled.

Eventually - after the walls had been riddled with artillery fire -  the time came, and Alfred threw himself from his steed with dutiful haste, after having withdrawn to their camp. Olaf rushed to his side, delivering to him the Cross of St. Tylos, a pinnacle of Reinmaren culture and faith. He left his acquired steed, Auspice, at the gates of their siege camp. Now, they’d assault the throne-room of Fredericksburg, in an attempt to wrangle it from the hands of the Veletzians.

Once the call came, they flooded from the walls of their camp, quickly traversing the burned out, ruined lands that separated Marignan, from Fredericksburg. Alfred hauled himself up the ladders, thrown into the empty moat, the final obstacle to victory. He was tired, no doubt, but the promise he’d once made to his people rang louder in his ears than any exhaustion could. 

There was no swinging of blades as he charged into the empty hall that once served as the helm of Richard’s Principality. Any semblance of a throne was long gone, with the majority of the enemy having mounted up and departed to circle the Keep in turn. 

The Duke found himself amongst his own ranks, spotting the Grand Prince Leon across the hall, a rather impressive, albeit internal, description of his counterpart crossing his mind. One who was unfaltering, if young perhaps, but most certainly not a coward. Some may acclaim him as rather unserious at times, but Alfred understood the wisdom that laid beneath his eyes, one able to truly guide the Reinmaren peoples seize their future.

However, the siege had not yet ended. Despite the seizure of Fredericksburg, the Armies of Sir Gaspard still remained, armed to the teeth and brave beyond sense. They quickly returned to the walls, attempting to seize the courtyard that laid on the eastern side of the keep. They managed to mount the walls, seize the rooftops of Fredericksburg. Despite this, Covenant morale had only soared, and the men of the Coalition - donning tens of different colors - remained united under a singular proud banner.

Their next order came, the final directive of the siege - to extinguish the last of the Veletzian presence in Fredericksburg through brute strength. Alfred had recuperated, and whilst wielding his Reinmaren Berserker Axe - hauled himself up a ladder, leading himself amongst the ranks of Veletzians. His heavy-headed Axe swung with ferocity - and it seemed, all around him, that the Coalition had practically wiped out any Veletzian resistance inside the walls.

That was, until Alfred was in the side, with a mace - sending him tumbling from the Frederickburg's rooftops. His body remained stunned, sent falling from the walls of Fredericksburg. He’d assumed, inherently, that death came with his fall. But when his body hit the grass below, many other men fell around him - still stood. One of them - a Veletzian aristocrat - was masked beneath a bloodied surcoat and helm. Alfred, now on the cusp of falling limp, thrusted the dagger that previously lingered at his hip into the throat of his opponent. The man was left limp on the field, the stain of his own blood hardening on the Stassionite ground. 

The Duke of Reinmar made strength to drag himself back to the throne room of Fredericksburg before climbing the walls in a wounded stupor. He watched over the lands formerly belonging to Prince Richard, now having fallen under the dominion of the Covenant.

 On this day we place our children in the Lord’s care,

It is with great pride that we, the Duke and Duchess of Reinmar, announce the birth of not one, but two healthy children. Born both on the 10th of Msitza and Dargund, 510 E.S. / 10th of Harren’s Folly, 1957. Following a tumultuous, albeit short, period with the failure of the Duchess’ first pregnancy - such is considered to be a blessing. Both children, one male, one female, bear the distinctive, dynastic blonde hair, whilst bearing the blue eyes of their father.

The Elder of the two - the girl - was named Frederica Josefina Barclay, after the late Duke Friedrich 'The Iron Fox' Barclay and after the Duke’s own dutiful grandmother, Josefina of Jerovitz, wife to Wilheim II. She is hereby bestowed with the Barony of Sigradz, to hold in perpetuity until her rightful inheritance as heiress to the Duchy of Reinmar and all subsidiary titles.

The Younger of the two - the boy - was aptly named Erwin Ulrich Barclay, after the first Duke of Reinmar, Erwin ‘The Northern Fox’ Barclay, one of the most prestigious Patriarchs of the House Barclay, and after Ulrich Lothar von Alstreim, 9th Lord Vandalore.

With the Duke and Duchess’ prayers to GOTT answered, all that remains is for both to be baptized, which will happen in a private ceremony at the hands of Matthias Cardinal Lotharia come the following year.

For twenty-eight years I have held the titles of my predecessors, since the abdication of my father, and passing of my grandmother, who inherited the titleage from Saint Johann, and so on. And though I do not doubt that the diligence that flows the same in all Reinmaren still flows through me, in this time I have grown tired, and as of now been occupied with more private matters as my children come of age and prepare for the next stages of their life.

The Princely House Barclay has always recognised the importance of acknowledging the time to step down and abdicate, to allow diligence to course through the head of the house at all times, and it is for that reason, judging my son and heir to have successfully completed his trials and proven himself of adequate standing to take up after me that I, Manfred II of House Barclay of Reinmar, hereby announce my abdication as Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar and High Chief of the Reinmaren upon the publication of this writ, to be referred to from this point onwards as His Lordship, Manfred Johann Barclay, the Duke-Emeritus of Reinmar.

In doing so, I hereby pass my family’s respective titles down to their rightful heirs:

I. The Principality of Sutica and the Duchy of Reinmar alongside its subsidiary titles to be transferred to my eldest son, Alfred Barclay, to be referred to from hereon as His Princely Grace, Alfred Barclay, Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, and so forth, so forth.

II. The High Chiefdom of the Reinmaren, to be transferred to His Serene Highness, Ferdinand Barclay, Grand Prince of Minitz, as the eldest of the Reinmaren Chieftains.

May GOD bless them come what may as He has blessed me these past twenty-eight years.

After a decade of anticipation between the young couple to finalize their courtship, Teodosia Eileen Baruch and Alfred Konstanz Barclay (@Gandhi) hastily requested to meet with the Duchess Roslin Baruch (@kaylacita), seeking permission for marriage. Approval was granted after a series of trials involving a customary practice of interrogation, a duel with a male guardian, and the ability to withstand an infamous Ayrikivian cultural dish – which deemed him fit to the hand of her second youngest daughter.

Eager to avoid wasting a second more, the match immediately sought out the priest, Father Anton (@rep2k), to perform the ceremony in Sankt Johannsburg. Nobility throughout the Coalition alike were graciously extended special invitations to attend, though all were welcome. It was a quaint procession due to the bride and groom’s humble wishes, leftover expenditures were then distributed to the needy. Shortly after exchanging vows and taking the name of her husband, Teodosia Barclay announced that in order to embrace the new culture which she shall whole-heartedly embrace as a Consort - she shall abandon the Ayrikivian name ‘Teodosia Eileen’ and take on the anglicized name ‘Theodosia Helen’, maintaining a similar first name after her namesake was Saint Theodosius. 

Finally bound together in marriage, the new Duke of Reinmar and his wife set off to complete 

a pilgrimage after the conclusion of their wedding.

The Fall of the Ferryman Keep

To The Reinmaren People and All It Concerns

On this day the Forces of Reinmar and Minitz joined in the fight with Covenant against the forces of Veletz and their allies. The action started with the Covenant rallying together and the siege embankment. With the Forces of the Reinmaren, taking their places in the ranks which held the back of the great earthen embankment as the cannon’s roared to life nad began to pound away, along side the trebuchets then opened up a barrage of shot and shell against the enemies siege engines. With the Covenant siege weapons utterly obliterating the enemies without a single shot land even close to our own. The Veletzians only significant gain was the managed to send some skirmishers and were able to spike our cannonade. However the Trebuchets continued to fire till nearly the entire keep had been obliterated on the southern side. After nearly two saints hours of discipline as the Veletzians continued to harass our camp on horseback the order was finally given to sally forth out of our siege camp. After a few pushes in which the Covenant missed the mark. We finally managed to engaged the enemy after a feigned retreat. And managed to hold them at the main breech fighting them over scorched land and on the rubble of their once feared keep. After the battle raged, slowly but surely their forces within the keep began to fall and their failed flank from one of their many cowardly tunnels having to fall back. We were able to completely take the keep pushing them out, after around Ten Saints Minutes their remaining forces gave up hope and fell back leaving the keep or what was left of it firmly in the hands of the Covenant. After that Anne and Helene would never go near their father scared of him. Then one day they went to stay with their grandmother for a while, it was a fun time to be had. All the children adored Cosmia. Later on in life they found out their father abandoned them and they all lived in Hohengarten for the longest time. After a while, Eowyn would just enjoy her time traveling and visiting her family wherever they may be. She even had the blessing of getting called grandmother herself, having a few grandchildren to spoil.

After a few years has passed, Eowyn grew sick and started to cough blood. After a little help from a man named Klaus and some alchemy called Organ mender, Eowyn would feel a little better. However, this would not last forever. Keeping her weakness from the family it grew harder and harder, her memory started to fade she would get things mixed up or call someone by their wrong name. Then one night the woman was tired, she get into bed and never wake up again. She would be found by her granddaughter Franziska who call for a medic and would only be told the bad news, and even though the girl would suffer from a broken heart she sent letters to the family to tell the news.

On this day the Forces of Reinmar and Minitz aided the combined forces, if Haense, Aaun, and Bailan to capture the murders of the Aaun crown, before coming to the defense of Whitespire. Where the combined force obliterated a force from Veletz returned an uneasy peace to the lands. This was started by a rouge noble house stassion, murdered the king of Aaun in cold blood, then attempted to flee when a the coalition forces arrived and chanced them across the waters around Whitespire. Before getting word of a Veletz rally heading for Aaun, as such we took up positions inside the city, after a few moments of back and forth the coalition drove deep into the enemies line and crushed them between the gate and their steel!

Abandoned at the age of 4, thought to be too weak for an Ork she was left on the side of a road, by a stroke of luck or by GOD’s will she was found shortly after by her Human parents. They raised her until they passed away from old age during their continental voyage to Aevos. When she finally reached land, it took some time to get accustomed to her new surroundings, during this time she put into use her survival lessons passed down by her father. As time went by suddenly an unexpected growth spurt occurred during her early 20’s, a strange but a welcomed omen. 

She then wandered around the lands until she arrived at the Kingdom of Haense. Shortly after her arrival to the kingdom she met the reinmaren people of House Barclay. It was there where she found camaraderie with the Landers - the House Guards of the ruling family of Reinmar. She spent the next 18 years with the guard force. Defending the lands of Barclay and keeping the peace, none could match her strength except for the few exceptional humans within the warrior class. Her most notable act of valor was being a part of the rescue guard force that helped defeat cultists who had kidnapped a royal of the Haeseni Kingdom.

She found herself on her downtime honing her craft in the exquisite arts of baking pie, the warrior class of Reinmar and the civilian populace would occasionally smell the delicious scent of pie coming from the main kitchen within the guard house near the square. Throughout the years she grew fond of birds during her patrols,and marches. They reminded her of her caring parents after all these years. One could find her home to be a hot spot for viewing peaceful birds eating and drinking on a makeshift bird feeder. 

During her time in Haense she met an orc named Grog. He was determined to take her to the Horde - the main conglomerate of Orcs - seeing as Scrap had never been there. From there she met her first child Cob'Lur, a goblin child. A mischievous young goblin, always causing chaos and getting into trouble with her mother, but she was loved and cared for nonetheless. On occasion she would visit the Horde thereafter, she found herself wanting to understand more of her people, her culture, what she could have been raised in if she was taken in since birth. She found love during that time, an 8 foot Ork named Varn’Gorkil, reddish in color, it was love at first sight. After a year of courting, becoming life mates, she gave birth to the three beautiful ork children in the Kingdom of Haense. First came their oldest, Mudd, then a few years after came the twins Bink and Bonk. They were all raised by the love of Varn & Scrap, until one day Scrap gathered their children one night telling them the news that their mother will be leaving for a year. It would be the last time the Scrap family would commune together, the memory of that night will forevermore be burned into the children’s mind once the dreadful news reached them. 

On a quiet and peaceful night, Scrap bid her farewell to her friends and family as she announced the day before that she was heading off to explore and travel the lands of Aevos for a year. After almost an hour of goodbyes and “be safe”, she finally set off into the night following the paved road. After traveling a good distance away from the Kingdom she decided to find a spot to set up camp. In the span of a second, Scrap halted, she became tense, the air began to smell a most putrid stench of death. Her heart began to race as she slowly grabbed the pommel of her slayer steel sword as she eyed the path before her, the familiar sound of an armored retinue began to get louder, but the other sounds that came with it. . .sounded unnatural. .. it sounded undead. 

“THERE! CAPTURE THAT ORK NOW!”

A familiar dark voice boomed, she squinted as she unsheathed her sword, what was before her was an armed retinue of undead. Scrap cursed under her breath before she prepared for battle, but she understood that this possibly might be her final stand. She gritted her teeth, cursing her luck as she dug her feet into the ground preparing for the incoming assault. Two undead warriors quickly bursted into a sprint running to her left and right while the dark undead knight approached from the front. From her point of view she witnessed the rest of the undead securing the flank, there was no hope of escaping, it was too late to run at that point they’d be able to easily catch up. She stepped forth shifting her weight as he began to swing towards one of the undead.

“MI WILL RIP OUT LAT’Z THROATZ WITH MI TUZKZ”

Her slayer steel sword would cleave and crack one of the undead’s shields, staggering him on his arse before another wild swing went for the undead to her right.

“HURRY YOU FOOLS. WE HAVE NO TIME TO LOSE. BREAK THE ORK’S LEGS!”

The short battle happened in a matter of minutes. Scrap managed to critically injure one of the undead but she soon was quickly overwhelmed by the combined attacks. Eventually the towering Ork Landser fell to her knees before being quickly chained.The dark armored undead approached her and reached out to grab her head with its decrepit skeletal hand, in a last ditch effort, Scrap would bite the hand of the darkstalker breaking off two fingers. The undead simply looked upon his now three fingers, before knocking her out with the pommel of its morning-star in prompt retaliation.

For what seemed like moments for Scrap, a journey was made across Aevos to the presumably undead’s lair. The pungent smell of rotten flesh, the sound of screams and groans echoing the cave, the sinister feeling the area gave off that this place is not where the living should be. Scrap awoke tied next to a frantic maid, her clothes ripped and tattered, the young maid’s face bruised and an overwhelming amount of fear was displayed upon her face. Scrap looked around, she was surrounded by skeletal robbed things, there were monsters around her she could not describe, a caged seemingly demonic being hanging above them, trapped. She awoke to dark chanting, a ritual, and it seemed that the two were in the middle of a blood pentagram. Scrap understood what was going to happen, what her fate was, she turned to the young maid attempting to comfort her as she whispered to stay close. The horrified maid could only nod before understanding that these most likely will be her last moments in this world. Then it began. Scorching needle-like pain coursing throughout their bodies as three skeletal figures seemingly began to suck the life out of the two. The three decrepit hands smoldered in black smog, continuously draining the two. Their cheeks began to sink into their face, their skin becoming paler by the minute, they felt a sense of dread and tiredness. Scrap looked around one last time as the terrified maid was clinging to her.

“Wub da Zkah……”
 

The ork faintly said before falling unconscious due to the pain as their very life essence was drained from them in a steady stream of black magik. After a while a giant green orb floated above the two. The dark undead knight eyed it before a voice finally boomed throughout the cave.
 

“RISE MY GENERAL, TAKE IT. ASCENSION IS UPON YOU!”

To the people of Reinmar and Fellow Landsers!
 

On this day in the second age of the year of our lord 150. The Landser Von Reinmar raided a weapons caravan of the Mad Baron, with 4 Landsers and himself. Wilhelm von Berkhoven prepared a trap for the enemy. Three men, under the commander of Oberlandser Klaus Berkhoven, took positions above the ridge. When the first mule in the caravan passed below them, Klaus, Daemon, and Samuel loosed a volley of Arrows and stones that stopped the leading mule dead in its tracks. As well as took out one of the four men with the mule. At the same time, further below Earendil, followed the prepared plan, blew the Horn of Reinmar, and made a bunch of noise as he charged up the hill. This sudden sound spooked the remaining mules in the caravan that had fallen behind. Leaving the other teams no choice but to retreat with their mules to prevent them from slipping down the steep cliffs and losing even more of their deadly goods.

 After the initial attack, the trio of remaining guards began to scramble up the hill to Klaus' group as well as to avoid what they assumed was an entire wave of cavalry reinforcements. However, another volley from Samuel and Daegon saw them halted in their advance, only to be hit shortly after by a well-placed Gott's Flame Potion that left one man barely breathing and one with toasted legs. At the same time, Wilhelm had joined Earendil on horseback and began charging toward where they assumed the rest of the caravan would be retreating. However, they charged head-first into two heavily armored cavalrymen and quickly got stuck in a two-on-two cavalry duel. 

Klaus quickly descended the hill to finish off the trio of caravan guards only to find them completely helpless, as the only one still in fighting shape had burnt his hands while putting out his comrades. In an act of mercy, many believe is due to the Lorraine necklace that the remaining guard clucked as he begged for mercy for him and his friends. Oberlandser Berkhoven agreed and told them to remember the mercy of Gott and to seek the church to do penance for their sins.

The final act of the battle came with a final clash of the cavalry as the Wilhelm pulled a dirty trick on his enemy and stuck his halberd to the side, catching the young enemy off guard and ripping him from his horse with the spike of his halberd. While Earendil used the battle standard of the Landsers to confuse his enemy and managed to finish off his foe with a clean stab between the helmet and chest plate, cutting the jugular.

The battle ended with Wilhelm offering quick prayer for their sins of killing others. Before a short celebration of cries of 'Gott Mitt Uns'. Before returning to the safety of Reinmar to patch up wounds and prepare for the next engagement.

A most momentous event took place on the last Saint’s Day in the year of our Lord. After the concussion of the dual weddings of Helfgott - Berkhoven and Helfgott - Burke. The mad Necromancer Funnybone and his ilk graced Reinmar's firm towers with the blood of man and beast alike in a show of their disgusting cruelty. However, within the walls of Reinmar was the truest form of faith before GOTT. Men and women of multiple races from across Aevos had come to support the most holy union of the two happy couples. So when the party guests, as well as the brides and grooms, saw the cruel action, all quickly ran into action. Under the loose command of Hauptmann von Reinmar but mostly with the Lord’s divine grace on them, the diverse group of Canonist forces engaged the foul darkspawn who had foolishly remained bear witness to the Lord’s wrath.

 

NOTED PARTIES

HOUSE OF WEISS

Lord Walter and his Wife Marian Weiss, Who had come to the wedding, lived entirely up the name of the ever-zealous House of Wiess, both of them joining the front line against the heretic shield wall. With Walter landing, an important hit on the dark spawn with the House Holy Blade.

KNIGHTS OF SAINT JUDE

The Knights of Saint Jude appeared in force at the battle, taking the bulk of the front line against the enemy shield wall. Their most holy force held the line against the dark spawn line for the bulk of the battle, aided by other good men of Canonism. And prevent their taint from moving even an inch closer to Reinmar once the battle began. The Landser would like to express their utmost respect for the knights of Saint Jude and their desire to work together again, as their order in battle was exemplary. We were also honored to see a new faithful join their ranks after the battle.

LANDSERS VON REINMAR
 

The Landsers von Reinmar, including all four of those who had their wedding just prior, stood fast alongside their Waldenian Brothers, with Particular not to a very amusing fireball fired by Oberlandser Mage Arthur Burke, which caught the scum Funny Bone causing him to eventually flee the battle screaming. 'Put it out! Put it out!' as well as Leutnant Avya Berkhoven, who slides the massive head from the bear-sized flesh golem. Overall, the Landsers all conducted themselves well according to their roles. Using properly combined warfare with magic, alchemy, and slayer-steel brute force.

FORCES OF MINITZ
 

The Forces of Minitz, including their templar, managed to break into the center of their formation, with their templar blasting and shutting down any more range attack from the Iblees forces. The Prince of Minitz Ferdinand Barclay, standing and fighting alongside his cousin, his Princely Grace Manfred Barclay, the second.

PERSONAL MENTIONS

Laurissa von Haense for her efforts in targeting the most dangerous of the enemy and going to great physical lengths for our holy cause.

Dubbed SANKT JOHANNSBURG, the keep was named after the great Prince Johann Barclay, Patron Saint of Reinmaren, Waldenian Princes and Axemen, who bravely and selflessly served as Lord Marshal of Hanseti-Ruska during the Sinners’ War and now dwells in the company of the Saints in the Fifth Sky. 

To celebrate and formally inaugurate this beginning of a new era for the Reinmaren, which we hope shall last as long as the Lord GOD allows it, a proper inauguration shall be held within the lands of Reinmar. Thus its proper opening day and inauguration, on the 10th of Tov and Yermey, 495 E.S, shall be appropriately marked by an evening of due ceremonies and festivities organized by the Princely House.
 

THE BLESSING OF SANKT JOHANNSBURG

As all were created by the Lord our GOD, and as man must strive to make faith the prime focus of their life, the occasion of the inauguration shall start in the keep’s chapel, where it shall be properly consecrated by a priest of the Church of the Canon, who shall similarly be called upon to bless the Duchy and the attendees.
 

THE OATH OF MACKEN
Following the religious ceremony, the gathered will be led to the feasting hall, where the age-old Reinmaren tradition known as the Oath of Macken, whereby the Duke of Reinmar shall be formally recognized as High Chief of the Reinmaren, shall commence. Subsequently shall the Adlerpakt be renewed.

THE BREAKING OF BREAD
Following the Oath of Macken and the renewal of the Adlerpakt, the attendees shall be called to partake in a proper feast to celebrate the successful occasion. For the duration, traditional Reinmaren food and drink shall be served, music be played, and some minigames, such as the famed pig’s dice, be hosted.

Named Alfred Konstanz Barclay in full, the young heir was named firstly in honor of the late Venerable High Pontiff Tylos I, who bore the name Alfred prior to his ascension to the Immaculate Throne, and secondly after his ever diligent and faithful uncle, Konstanz Barclay.

The eagle always aims for the highest nest in their reach, where the sun strikes their feathers and beak, radiating them for all to see; where the winds are soothing, and the views are to match; and where their gaze watches over as much of their own as feasible. It is in these conditions only where this majestic avian can truly thrive in their service to both their kin, and their austringer in GOD. In these conditions, an eagle can spread its wings of influence to engulf even those generations who may never meet it in life. However, above all, the eagle fears sloth. It fears the curse and its debilitating effects, and it rues the day its family will ever be uprooted for allowing this to persist. And so, this magnificent creature flies down willingly from its roost, to allow a more energetic one of its blood to lead their colony.

For thirty-three years, I have held the titles of my predecessors, since the abdication of my mother, who held these titles since the abdication of my grandfather, and so on. Since the forceful abdication of my namesake, House Barclay has recognised the importance of acknowledging the time to step down, to allow diligence to course through the head of the house at all times. While I do not doubt that the diligence of the Reinmaren still flows through me, I do doubt my ability to channel this into the leading of my house alongside the running of the prestigious Brotherhood of Saint Karl in the face of what is to come.

In this youthful land, it is important that the Reinmaren be led by youthful blood. It is for this reason that I, Wilheim II of House Barclay von Reinmar, hereby announce my abdication as Prince of Sutica, Duke of Reinmar, and High Chief of the Reinmaren upon the publication of this missive, to be referred to from this point on as His Lordship, Sir Wilheim Konstanz Barclay KOU, with my family’s titles being passed down to their respective heirs:

I. The Principality of Sutica, and the Duchy of Reinmar alongside its subsidiary titles, to be transferred to my eldest son, Manfred Barclay, to be referred to hereon as His Princely Grace, Manfred II.

II. The High Chiefdom of the Reinmaren, to be transferred to His Grace, Brandt Barclay Herzog von Minitz, as the elder of the Reinmaren Chieftains.

I have no doubt that these men shall dutifully serve in their new respective roles, given their much more bountiful youth, and I have no doubt that all Reinmaren shall prosper under their collective rule. May GOD bless these new rulers as they settle their people upon their new lands.

Throughout my life, both as Baron of Sigradz and later Prince of Sutica and Duke of Reinmar, I have tried my utmost in order to live and act honourably and uphold the legacy of those before me. To live without honour is to live a hollow life, and as I look back upon my short yet eventful time in this plane of existence, I would wish to say I have done so, especially through my horsemanship. As the head of House Barclay, a family known for their prowess in mounted combat, I should be the last to utilise them illegitimately for something as recreational as a joust.

Despite that, I write this missive for the reason that I have done the opposite. As those present are aware, in the post-bout examination following my first performance, it was discovered that my horse was under the influence of performance-enhancing herbs, which I have since found was hidden within the feed that my stablemaster has been feeding her. Despite such a discovery, I have little reason to suspect that my stablemaster has done this intentionally, seeing as within the feed was also many herbs meant to harm the horses in the stable, who have only found themselves becoming ill in the past few days.

That does not, however, excuse my own failure to ensure my horse was of legal status for the official joust of the Almaris Olympics. I wish to take this opportunity to apologise to the King of Haense, my fellow jousters, and all the spectators within the hippodrome, for wasting each and every one of their time through my actions. This incident does not reflect on who I am as a man or a Prince, and who I strive to be in the future, and for that, I am gravely sorry.

Despite all this, it is now known that there is a man or woman either within Haense or the foreign realms of Almaris who intends the trade of my house grave harm. In response to this, the Duchy of Reinmar hereby offers a 500 mina reward for any man, woman, or group who presents the perpetrator to the Duke. An extra 250 mina shall also be rewarded if the culprit is captured alive.

For many years, the Reinmaren people have gone without a proper chance to celebrate the succession of their Chieftain. In the times of Princess Johanna, what should have been a joyous occasion in the form of her wedding was overshadowed by the sudden loss of her father, the recently abdicated Prince Johann, and the diligence she displayed throughout the construction of Rozenfeld sacrificed too much time for a proper Oath of Macken to be held in her honour.

In these times, however, His Princely Grace, Wilheim II has deemed that a return to the traditional celebration shall be held, in unison with the matrimony between himself and Lady Josefina Kortrevich before GOTT, so that the people of not only Rozenfeld and the Duchy of Reinmar, but all of Hanseti-Ruska and the Waldenic Diet may join together for this merry occasion embedded in the Reinmaren culture. His Princely Grace thus invites any and all to the celebrations to take place over the span of two Saint’s Days in the following year of 448 E.S.

CEREMONY

For many years, the Houses of Barclay and Kortrevich were ones with knives at each other’s throats, such tensions peaking during the time of Duke Erich of Reinmar and Count Jan of Jerovitz. However, with this mistrust dwindling in years since, the two families are delighted to announce the union of the Duke Wilheim and Lady Josefina, daughter of Count Nikolai. This union shall be held in the coming month of Vzmey & Hyff, in the halls of the Cathedral of Saint Tylos located within the family keep of Wilheburg, and officiated by the Matriarch of Jorenus and Bishop of Reinmar.

BLESSED JOHANN’S MELEE

As the couple prepares for their new life together, it is paramount that they remember those that came before them, so their legacies may live on alongside their own. One such ancestor is Blessed Johann Barclay, famed Duke of Reinmar and the Lord Marshal who led Haense and the BSK to victory over the Holy Orenian Empire. In honour of the Blessed man, a melee shall be held on the tourney grounds of Rozenfeld, where participants may only wield a one-handed axe, much like the Marshal did when GOTT smiled upon him. A prize of 150 minas shall fall into the hands of he or she who bests all other competition.

Following these events, a feast shall be held within the dining hall of Wilheburg, as is custom with the weddings of nobility. All are welcome to attend the aforementioned schedule, regardless of status. One must remember where they came from.

THE OATH OF MACKEN

THE OATH

An ancient Reinmaren ceremony which was brought back by Duke Erich of Reinmar, the Oath of Macken has been performed for the Duke and all successors following. In the coming month of Tov & Yermey, all are once again welcomed to the lands of the Duchy to witness this ritual be performed for the new Chief of the Reinmaren within the rose fields adjacent to the Duchy’s keep. 

TYLOS AND NICHOLAS’ JOUSTS

In honour of the Canonised Barclays, Tylos of Kalden and Nicholas of Reinmar, and in line with the family traditions, two jousts shall be held within the tourney grounds of Rozenfeld. In honour of Saint Tylos, a traditional joust shall be held, with each rider riding on one of two white horses, the same colour as the horse Tylos rode over the city of New Reza. 

In honour of Saint Nicholas, and his sacrifice in defence of the clergy, all participants shall be packed within the confined tourney grounds, with only their lances, much akin to the confined area of the Basilica of Saint Heinrik’s aisle. All participants shall then engage in a brutal free-for-all, recreating the chaos which took place in those blessed halls.

Upon the conclusion of each joust, both victors shall be awarded 100 minas, and face off in one final joust. The last remaining atop a saddle shall be rewarded a further 200 mina.

I HAVE DONE WHAT I PROMISED.

Upon the sudden and untimely passing of my late brother, the Baron of Sigradz, Konstanz Wilheim Barclay, I took up the mantle of Heir to the House of Barclay due to the Karenina Accord. This was a mantle I never asked for, dreamed of, or yearned to hold, and yet it is what I was given. An hour before I was wed to my husband, my father, the Duke of Reinmar, was murdered by road bandits, and I walked down the aisle as the Duchess of Reinmar.

It has been twenty-two years since my brother's death, and eighteen since the birth of my son. Upon Konstanz’ death, I swore that I would hold my position until I had raised an heir to take up the house. I have completed my promise, and I hereby pass on all titles that I hold relating to the House of Barclay to my son and heir, Wilheim Konstanz Barclay, Duke of Reinmar.

Alongside this, I will also be abdicating my position as Lady Vandalore and Margravine of Vanderfell. The title of Vanderfell shall return to the Waldenic Diet until they should be called upon by the Diet to decide who among them shall lead them into the future as Vandalore.

The only position I shall continue to hold from this moment on is Lady Palatine as it is the only position that I hold that wasn’t thrust into my life by death. I hope to continue to serve the Kingdom to the best of my abilities.

There is only one moniker I wish to hold from my time as Duchess, The Maus.

I believe that it has defined my tenure, as I have always felt like a mouse scurrying around in a house that was never made for me.

All around her, loomed tall dark trees, laced together with mist that coated her horse's feet. The forest became an ever growing labyrinth the more steps she took. She had been in this cursed, dark forest for years. Trying her best to navigate an impossible situation. But Johanna was not in a forest, a sticky mist did not cover her feet, and there was no winding labyrinth holding her, she was free in all technicality. This cursed landscape only ever existed in Johanna’s mind.

The trees were her brother, slain by a crow drake at 24, thrusting upon her the looming responsibility of heir to the house. 

The mist was her father, who was murdered by bandits on the road the day she was married, passing onto her a never ending fog of responsibilities. 

The Labyrinth was her mother, who died in someone else's keep and with a funeral she was not invited to, leaving her to wander lost for years.

For twenty-two years the life Johanna led was one she didn’t see as her own. The Duchess didn’t view herself as such, in her own mind she had been a placeholder. The bridge between her brother and her son. The little girl had dreamed of being an architect, an artist, a politician, an adventurer, every day until she was twenty four years old - and tragedy had ripped it from her hands. Forced instead into leadership and responsibility. Taking the Oath of Macken, leading her family, and making decisions she had never asked for.

For nearly half of her life was spent not as her own, but as a stand-in for a brother that had been born for the position, and then a son born to release her from it.

As Johanna woke up on Wilheim’s 18th birthday, she sat at her desk in Reinmar and signed her name for the final time as the Duchess of Reinmar. She entered into the great hall and handed the papers to couriers to carry out, 

and then she walked away.

With the continued threat of skinwalkers and darkness within the forests surrounding Rozenfeld, the Duchess believes it is best to root out any chance of Iblees having snuck in over the recent years. The House of Barclay has, and always shall support the Church in their fight against Iblees and its spawn, and wishes to be the first House within Haense to show its willingness to be tested and ensure that Iblees shall never be among their ranks.
