If you are reading this, then I have unfortunately perished. I regret that the circumstances I found myself in- harsh, unforgiving, and often desperate- did not allow me the luxury to pen a proper will and testament. I have done my best with what little time and resources I had to outline my wishes, though they are far from complete.

To those who knew me, I hope my intentions are clear. Any possessions or matters left unmentioned herein are left to the discretion of those who cared for me, should any remain. Let it be known that I acted as best as I could in these dire times, and I entrust my memory to you.

HEED THESE WORDS,

For in the absence of a proper will and testament, let it be known that all titles, riches, properties, and worldly possessions that I leave behind are to pass directly and without contest to my younger brother, Albert-Goulielmos Diuexmont de Rosius. @Franczhiz

I entrust him with the stewardship of our family's name and legacy, confident in his ability to uphold it with honor and dignity. May he find strength in this inheritance and use it to bring prosperity to those in his care. May he, if he wishes so, share his inheritance justly with the rest of our family.

IT IS ON THIS DAY, that the House of Jazlowiecki announces the death of its Margravine, Catherine Jazlowiecki, born as Catherine Éloïse Ashford de Lewes to the former Baron of Virdain, Henri Leufroy Ashford de Lewes.

Catherine’s body was discovered in the ruins of Whitespire, situated in front of where the bridge to the Hand of Horen once stood. Her cause of death is still unknown, with no noticeable injuries except for malnourishment, and upon further inspection, her belongings had been tossed off into the body of water surrounding the ruins. 

The House will continue to investigate for suitable evidence of the cause of death. All that has been noted was the distance the late Margravine held towards people and those who knew her.

The Canonist Newssheet is a missive based in Alba that is used to reach the hearts of more Canonist people who can not attend mass or for those who seek the truth but have not yet found it. In The Canonist Newssheet, are the words of Father Edmund, a priest who spent fourty years in a monastery before returning to his native homeland, the Heartlands. The purpose of this newssheet is to spread sermons by missive so one can pray more often with the prayers provided and to open up their hearts to the faith of Canondom.

PRAYER

O’ GOD

Protect your flock from the deceiver who tries to tempt us into his world of darkness. Enlighten our hearts and our faith in You. Protect us against his servants, the daemons, and make our faith as a sword who cuts down all that stands between us and the heathen, o’ GOD. Give us the power to resist the temptations that are blockading the worship of You, Lord GOD.

Sermon on the Sovereignty of God in the Realm of Canondom

Brothers and Sisters in Canondom,
Today, we gather in unity to honor the Infinite and Eternal One, the Creator whose wisdom is unsearchable and whose power knows no bounds. We reflect not on ancient texts or borrowed traditions but on the universal truth that binds us all: the undeniable presence of GOD, the supreme force that governs all existence.

In Canondom, we recognize GOD as the architect of order and the wellspring of meaning. God is the flame that ignites our spirits, the ocean that cradles our essence, and the wind that whispers purpose into our lives. GOD is not distant but dwells within the heart of every being, connecting us in an eternal network of life, love, and purpose.
 

God as the Source of Creation

Look around you—the heavens stretch infinitely above, the earth cradles us in abundance, and life teems in an endless symphony of diversity. All of this is the expression of GOD’s boundless creativity. Each star in the night sky and every breath we take is a testament to GOD's sustaining presence. Creation itself is a living hymn, singing praises to its source. In Canondom, we honor this by living in harmony with the world, recognizing it as a sacred gift.

God as the Guiding Light

In moments of doubt, GOD is the compass that points us toward truth. In times of trial, God is the fortress that shields us. But God does not merely offer protection—GOD inspires action. The presence of GOD calls us to stand firm in virtue, to seek justice, and to extend compassion to all beings. We are not passive spectators in this world but active participants in the divine plan, working together to manifest GOD’s love in our deeds.

God as the Unifier

The essence of Canondom lies in our shared commitment to GOD’s unity. While we may walk different paths, we are all threads in the same divine tapestry. GOD does not favor one over the other, for all are cherished, all are chosen. This understanding calls us to transcend division and to embrace each other with open hearts, knowing that our diversity is a reflection of GOD’s infinite imagination.

Living the Faith of Canondom

What does it mean to be a follower of Canondom? It is to live each day as an offering to GOD, to act with integrity, and to seek wisdom in all things. It is to celebrate the sacred in the ordinary—to see GOD’s fingerprints in the laughter of a child, the rustling of leaves, and the rhythm of your own heartbeat. It is to commit to growth, to kindness, and to the unyielding belief that we are all part of something far greater than ourselves.

Closing Call to Reflection

As we depart from this gathering, let us carry with us the light of GOD that burns within. Let us be reminded that every choice, no matter how small, is an opportunity to honor GOD. Let us walk in the understanding that we are never alone, for GOD is with us—in every sunrise, every challenge, and every triumph.

May the spirit of GOD guide you, may the love of GOD enfold you, and may the peace of GOD sustain you as we journey forward in faith and fellowship.

Go now, Children of Canondom, and be the living expression of GOD’s presence in the world.

A prayer dedicated to the people of Alba

This is the prayer that has been said by me during the Christening of Alba. The people who are subject to my royal kin are of most importance to me as I was born and raised at the court of his uncle, His late Majesty, King John I, and I have been taught a lot regarding the principles of Canondom and considered him to be the father I never had in my life. I wish to make him proud with the years that I have left and  it is therefore that my prayer has been published for all Albans to use so they may grow closer to GOD. And so I pray for all of you, Amen.

O’ GOD Almighty, Sovereign and Eternal,

We call upon You, the source of all power and light, to watch over the town of Alba. In Your boundless mercy and strength, stretch forth Your hand to shield it from all threats that seek to undermine its peace and sanctity. Protect Alba, its homes, its streets, and its borders from the forces of darkness, from daemons who wander to corrupt, and from all enemies of Canondom who seek to sow discord and destruction.

Let Your divine presence stand as an impenetrable fortress around this town, guarding it against every scheme of wickedness. May no evil take root here, no malice prosper, and no shadow fall upon the hearts of its people. Empower Alba’s defenders with courage, wisdom, and unshakable faith to withstand all who oppose the cause of righteousness.

Pour forth Your blessings upon the citizens of Alba, O’ GOD. May they prosper in all their endeavors, their fields yield an abundant harvest, and their labors bring forth goodness and plenty. Let the bonds of fellowship among them grow stronger, and may love and unity reign in their midst. Bless their homes with peace, their work with success, and their spirits with unyielding hope.

Bless especially the royal family Alstion, O’ GOD, whom You have entrusted with the sacred duty of leadership over Alba. May they reign with wisdom, grace, and humility, always seeking Your will above their own. Strengthen them in moments of trial, fortify them against the snares of pride and temptation, and fill their hearts with a fervent love for their people. Let their rule be a reflection of Your justice, mercy, and righteousness, and may their lineage continue to shine as a beacon of faith and virtue for generations to come.

Grant to Alban leaders who walk in truth and serve with integrity, who seek Your guidance in all decisions and hold fast to the principles of Canondom. May they govern with justice, uphold the welfare of all, and remain steadfast in their devotion to You.

Dear Fellow Citizens,  

With a heart that is as serene as it is restless, I announce today my decision to leave office and return to the life I chose before embarking on this path. A path that has seen me for a long time within the walls of institutions, surrounded by duties, decisions and tasks that have brought me face to face with the reality of our world in a deeper way than I had ever imagined.

Politics, both as a tool for change and as a stage for unremitting struggle, has demanded my energy, my time, and sometimes even my serenity. Yet in this long experience, I have learned that true wealth lies in the possibility of being oneself, of living among the people one loves and in the places that nourish us with peace and beauty. It is not in the halls of power, but in the silence of a garden, in the tranquility of an autumn afternoon that one finds true freedom.

It is not a renunciation, mine, but a return to what is essential. To my loved ones, to my family, to my earthly loved ones, to the simple joys of daily life. The days spent serving the people have been honorable, but my heart now longs for a new path. I long to breathe deeply the air of my corner of the world, to feel under my feet the soil that has seen me grow, without the need to mediate between the thousand voices of the world.

The time has come to return to my people, to see familiar faces again, and to drop the robes of leadership and resume those of a simple, middle-class, ordinary woman who embraces life in its simplest and most authentic form.

Fear not, however: my decision is not dictated by disillusionment, nor by weariness. I am not abandoning my commitment to you, but rather taking it back to the place where it can be lived with the greatest authenticity. Politics changes, as the seasons change, but my heart will always remain the same: full of hope, care and love for our people, and I am sure that my daughter, with a fresh and young mind can do better.

I thank you for trusting me and allowing me to serve. I hope that, in time, my choice will be understood as that of a woman who, having experienced the burden of responsibility, now desires to find new strength in silence, in the everyday and in the embrace of the simplest life.

As the masses convene for the festivities, the honour of opening the town by cutting the ribbon shall

be granted to the dignitary of the populous. Afterwards the names of both the hamlet and castle shall
be revealed. To celebrate and credit GOD each and every of the guests shall be sated from the same
loaf of bread.

THE PROCESSION :
Upon the conclusion of the prior ceremony, The Prince and Princess Alba shall lead the guests through

the city gates and tour them through the streets of the town, before ascending towards the keep.

THE SERMON :

The gathering would halt at the gates of the castle, where the priest shall bless with holy water the

grounds, ensuring its protection from evil machinations. Moving onto the interior, the process shall

be repeated in every area, starting from the courtyard and any other space en route to the throne room.

THE COURT :
Concluding the blessings, the 1st Court of Alba shall be held by The Prince Edward and Princess

Cecily. The hosts shall deliver their speech to the gathered before opening the floor to any petitioner,

upon exhaustion of discussion the guests shall be sated and saturated in an imposing feast.

A brief missive regarding the restoration of the House Alstion

A prayer for my family, the House of Alstion
O God, who governs the world, and who has set this family in dominion over us, grant them goodwill and virtue, that they might be a model for all the realms that they govern. Grant them also length of days, in order that we might have length of peace. Amen.

As we are near a new beginning for the Alstion dynasty, I see it as a sign from GOD that my cousins, Her Royal Highness Princess Cecily and His Royal Highness Edward Caius have taken it upon themselves to restore that which my late Uncle, His Majesty King John I, built. May GOD grant him the highest place in the Seven Skies.

The Apostolic Kingdom of Aaun was built by my great-grandfather, Charles I, a dream for the Heartlanders to prosper in and to welcome the cultures of the fallen Heartlander Confederacy which had been built after the Kingdom of Oren had fallen. Lands in which anyone may thrive despite their cultural, linguistic, and traditional differences. 

Aaun was a place for the brothers and sisters in Canondom to come together and prosper together, and it is my belief that Their Royal Highnesses shall continue this ideal that had been set by our ancestors, and so I shall pray. Canondom, as the one true faith, is the pillar that kept the Kingdom together, and so it shall be the one pillar once again. 

To the Aaunic citizens I say; pray for your fellow citizen, pray for your monarchs, and pray for the prosperity of the one whom you serve.

A prayer for the Heartlanders

O’ God, who governs this world, bless the Heartlanders in their path to greatness, bless their ambitions and let their ambitions lead to greatness. Grant them prosperity and protect the faithful. Amen.

A PRAYER UNTO THE DEAD

Domine, animae defunctorum et nocentium, supplicamus tibi. Concede eis requiem aeternam et lucem perpetuam. Miserere eorum qui per scelera aut hostilitatem vitam suam amisere. Requiem eis dona, etiam qui in insidiis aut perperam acta perpetraverunt. Misericordiam tuam super omnes extendas, et veniam eorum peccata offeras. Amen.

The Diet began in earnest, a gathering marked by purpose, where conversation flowed as it should—measured, yet impassioned. And for a time, all seemed in order, with voices raised in earnest discussion and hopes for progress running high. Yet the hall, once charged with impassioned debate, was suddenly pierced by shouts of alarm, as the Salvian Menace, acting in the name of the republic, launched their assault—with Prince Edward and the Princess as their chosen targets. The hall, a place of reason moments before, was transformed into a battleground, as violence tore through what had been a gathering of peace and purpose.

The spectators did make haste to flee the chamber, as the clergymen, in their pious office, did bid them forth unto the sanctuary that lay just beyond the diet hall. Erstwhile, as the Salvian Menace drew closer towards the royal coupling, those few amongst them, who were girded with steel, did take up arms in defence, striving to shield the Prince and Princess from that which threatened their lives.

For their charge was base and vile, these Republican hounds were swiftly struck down, and in their folly did they bring victory unto the Crown’s loyalists, with none among them suffering harm.

TO THE PEOPLE OF THE REALM,

WE, Prince Edward and Princess Cecily, are ever grateful for the prayers and well-wishes for our health and safety. We write to you and say this: We are alive and well.

WHEREIN the Diet of Lords and Commons had been peacefully convening to discuss the future of our beloved kingdom, but was tragically interrupted by the republican elements, whose actions endangered the health and safety of many.

WE, the Prince Edward and Princess Cecily, whomst were the intended targets of this vile act, have been brought to safety under the mercy of GOD. As we recover from the events of today’s bloody affair, we extend our hearts and prayers to the families of the wounded and lost, and our gratitude to those present who defended us and neutralised the radicals. A special thanks is due to Goran and Felix Wick, whose swift actions, and knowledge of alchemical tools, proved decisive in the defence of our lives.

FURTHERMORE, we condemn the actions of the Republic of Salvo and their accomplices, and warn all of Canondom to be wary of any approaching signs of terrorism. But let it be clear—violence will not be met with further violence, but with GOD’s justice. This attack upon our body and the Diet, a body gathered for the prosperity and future of our kingdom, is not only an attack upon us but an attack upon the very fabric of our collective being. We will not forget this.

TO those who conspired in this plot against the good men, women, and children of this realm, know this: Our resolve has not been deterred but strengthened. We will not be melted by the flames of our trials, but tempered and forged stronger. We will not be broken. 

TO those who would further conspire to see our demise, we promise this: Try as you might, you will find no weakness in our hearts, no crack in our will. Every scheme you weave will unravel before the might of our unity and the strength of our purpose.

Taxation Revisions of The Holy Regency

Penned 21st of the Grand Harvest, Year 2003

Following the conclusion of the Robertine Crusade, the Mother Church has deemed it necessary to reassess the taxation of the holy vassalage. Such money is to henceforth be used to upkeep holy monuments and structures within the newly acquired eastern lands. 

In accordance with such, the following laws are to be set in place regarding the taxation of those landed by the Holy See:
 

1. Vassals of The Holy See are responsible for paying at the very minimum the maintenance cost of their own lands.
   1. Higher taxation may be imposed for varying reasons as seen fit by the Holy See.
2. Landed entities which fall into a debt sum greater than five hundred mina will have either two years to fulfill their debt, or will face being unlanded.
3. As of year 2004, the taxation rates of vassals are to be as follow:

In Regards to the Recent Attempt on Edward and Cecily Alstions lives at Venic

I'm disgusted in the violence that was committed to the couple who had brought the Aunish people together in determination of the future of their people. I will admit that I am a republican and believe greatly in the ideals of a government for the people lead by the people. I will also admit up to that I thought Salvo of good people and help them they need me, who had similar desires of my own. Yet threats upon a whole group of people, who are humans and who have the same right to life as the rest of us, furthermore the attempt on their very lives is dispicable. From this point forward we annul any agreement with the republic of Salvo and stand diplomatically only with the holy regency and the decisions of the pontiff. If the Salvo people wish for amends they should pay reparations and receive a punishment granted by the pontiff for their attempts on the lives on the population of Aaun as a whole. For that room was filled with not only a potential King and Queen but the elderly, children and a large number of others

Guests shall assemble at the Holy Temple, where they will be guided to their seats in anticipation of the forthcoming ceremony.

Procession - Holy Temple, Holy See

The Bride and Groom, accompanied by their family and attendants, will make their entrance into the Holy Temple. As trumpets sound and choirs sing, the couple will approach the altar, and the assembly shall rise in reverence.

Nuptials - Holy Temple, Holy See

Under the watchful gaze of the Heavens, Father Alaric shall officiate the union between Prince Edward and Princess Cecily, with the esteemed families and friends of the Realm bearing witness to the occasion.

Following the exchange of vows, guests will be escorted to Falcon’s Rest, where they shall partake in toasts and feast in celebration of the newlyweds. Attendees will be afforded the time to offer their felicitations and presents to the couple.

Upon the conclusion of the feast, the evening’s revelries shall begin. Guests will be invited to the marble floors of the Grand Hall to witness the couple’s first dance, after which they may join in the festivities and dance throughout the rest of the evening.

With the last of the guests departing, the bride and groom are led to their bedchamber by their attendants. The room is adorned with flowers, and a final prayer is said before the couple retires, marking the end of the day's sacred and celebratory events.

Paint the Saint is a traditional Aaunish pastime in which people from all walks of life are encouraged to come together for a night and paint a Canonist saint. Attendees will be given a brief description of the saint that shall be painted, such as their patronage, historical era of living, and origin. After fifteen or twenty minutes of painting, participants will show off their paintings, discussing their thought process and ideas. The event shall be hosted in Venic’s tavern, where patrons may purchase food and drink.

A Dignified Letter from Robert Tiberius Alstion

TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE REALM AND BEYOND,

As one might dine a delicious pork roast, there exists those who would dine among the worldly possessions that they covet dearly. Men with a hand outstretched in offering while they obscure a dagger behind their backs in waiting. Wolves.

Their hunt enthused by no less than the surge they feel once they've pounced on their quarry. These hunts are dishonorable and evil by their very nature. Disdain and Justice ought to be the only forces that meet them, and equally to those who support them.

The Scroll of Virtue as the Word of God demands of us that we keep to our stations, for they are all equal in the eyes of the Lord. Many may see this as elitist, benefitting only the overbearing nobility who stake their claim on the lives of what many may consider lowly man. However, the burden of station equally applies to those of nobility and royalty. As a fifthborn son of the most pious king to have ever reigned over our Apostolic Kingdom, I never expected the responsibilities and duties of administering our realm to be within my purview. After all, I had never been personally tutored in such matters. While respecting my lineage, I sought to put myself with the common people because I saw myself as such. The ambiguities of politics is not one that I wished to embroil myself in. However, the Lord has commanded His virtues and He has proven that we are all to follow them. This is why I took on a responsibility to my kingdom, and this is why I continue to do so. Even so, I had recently planned to put to rest my claim to the throne amidst what seemed to be a clear choice on the horizon. However, if the past decades have been any indication, it is clear that not all goes to man's plan. The foundations of God's plan is laid out to us, and He has made it clear that those who deviate are sinful. Such is the case of the folk of Salvo who very clearly intend to strike at those outside their station out of envy, greed, and delusions unbefitting virtuous folk.

War is a man's game, and not one to be entered in eagerly. It is not only my duty as a Canonist, but it is my responsibility given to me from my father to ward off any who would encroach upon his lands under the guise of some virtuous destiny. I reinforce my most legitimate claim to the throne. Further, I call to action the High Priest, Ro’eh Tzon, to discuss my coronation, and to question why he is facilitating an invasion of our own soil instead of encouraging the Salvians to settle their own lands or to enter an agreement to utilise our ranch lands. 

If the High Priest is giving his blessing to an invasion of lands he is supposed to be administering, and no less giving his blessing to a gathering of commoners who seek to strike at the nobility and royalty acting rightly in their station as according to God, this may be a sign for the rest of Canondom to step in and address the fallibility of the High Priest who has already consorted with the barbarous savages that is Orckind.

Let the near future show what manner of High Priest that Ro’eh Tzon is. One that truly cares for his flock, or one that only uses his position to advance disunity among men.

In the spirit of celebration and chivalric honor, it’s a pleasure that I announce a Festival, to be held in the outskirts of Venic, an event of splendor and competition befitting the most dauntless.

In honor of the forthcoming union of the new generation of Aaun Royal, we invite all knights, warriors, and champions from far and wide to participate in this most glorious of contests.

The tilts will be overseen by our Venic Council and its radiant head, Mother Valerie. Their guidance and hospitality shall ensure a spectacle of valour, skill, and knightly.

Let it be known that this joust is merely a festival, but a celebration of our new Beginnings. It is a call to all who would honour their names and the glory of their lands.  

The joust shall commence on the appointed day, leading into Venic, and culminating in a feast inside the local tavern and town. 

May the best contestant triumph, and may our realm flourish under the blessed union of Prince Edward and Princes Cecily!

TO THE PEOPLE OF AAUN,

We, Princess Cecily and Prince Edward, have called upon your presence at Falcon’s Rest to usher in a new century—a new age for Aaun—and you answered that call. In doing so, you have rekindled a passion that had dimmed over the past decade, a flame now burning brighter than ever, as radiant as the morning sun. The light of His Holiness has sustained life in these lands, yet we must ask ourselves: What cause do we have in rising each day, if not to leave our mark upon the realm? What do we strive for? What do we fight for? It is not the faint candlelight we seek, whose flicker is easily extinguished by the whisper of the wind. Instead, we search for the steadfast light of the Sun, whose burning rays guide the day.

The reign of Charles II was but a short time ago, yet the vigor of a people committed to action has been lost for far longer. How long has it been since our people gathered in a single hall, not only to break bread, but to discuss the pressing matters of state and the welfare of those we have sworn to steward? And now the question arises: How much longer must we wait for our slumbering neighbors to stir once more?

A flame burns in our hands now, one that grows ever hotter. We write to you not merely to invite your pedigree, but to beseech your presence, for it is a duty to the nation that rests heavy upon our shoulders.

We raise the torch that once crowned the Hand of Horen. Like the soaring walls that held it high, we lift it up and call upon the peers of Aaun to behold its light–and let it serve as the beacon that guides the way.

We, in the spirit of progress, do hereby beseech every burning heart in Our Realm to join Us at the Diet of the Year 2003 in the honored halls of Venic’s burgh chambers, granted to Us by the grace and generosity of Mother Valerie Auclair, We shall convene this gathering as a place where all voices may be heard.

Know that this Diet is a stage upon which all may stand, where commoners and lords shall hold the right to speak truthfully. We endeavor to strengthen the Kingdom of Aaun through Our deeds and the collective wisdom, insight, and fervor of the people. Thus, do not hesitate to bring forth what burdens or inspires you. From matters of justice and prosperity to the welfare of land and kin, all shall be given its due ear so that we may guide its future together.

PROCEEDINGS,

We, Princess Cecily and Prince Edward, upon the opening of this Diet’s first session, do outline these matters to be discussed and moderated by acting speaker, Joseph Frederick von Preussens. Each matter will be prescribed an unlimited amount of time for discussion until motioned by a member of the convening Diet to adjourn the matter with a majority “Aye” consensus. The words of the proceeding will be recorded by acting scribe, Lord Malcolm d’Arkent — unless stricken from the record by the speaker. 

The House of Alstion presents these matters to be weighed upon with prepared speech by those joining us upon the Diet of 2003:

Mrs. Moore sat upright at the beige birch table, dipping a feathered quill into an inkwell that had black stains splattered across the jar. ‘Dorothea,’ she called out, setting her quill onto a dull red piece of rag, ‘Would you kindly fetch me some water?’ Dorothea obeyed, scurrying like a scared rat into the galley. Mrs. Moore cracked her fingers, one bone at a time, before continuing to write. Mrs. Moore hadn’t written in quite some time, yet the occasion seemed to call for it.

Dorothea brought back a glass of water and a silver tray with honey cakes, crisp with golden-brown edges, laid out on top of a berry-colored piece of cloth. Mrs. Moore offered Dorothea a faint smile, the most she ever showed the help, shooing her off into the house. She had not yet written on the yellowing piece of paper that sat before her. The warm, corn-colored sun shone through the morning room windows, and a few plump, blonde birds sang to their young in the oak tree in the yard. The rose bushes, which Mrs. Moore’s daughter, Elizabeth, had planted in the fall before the first snowfall, began to bloom, dotting the top of the window with bloody buds. Ink dripped onto the paper as Mrs. Moore sat there, cold and frozen, her face stone and long. She sighed, rather heavily, before beginning to write.

‘To my dear sister, Lady Katherine Anne Howlett,’ she began, muttering to herself as she wrote. She knew, like most other women of the town knew, that Katherine would not respond. Mrs. Moore was certain, though, that Katherine read her letters, for even though Katherine never responded with words - she sent Mrs. Eugenia Moore a handful of money – five hundred in coins, to be exact. Katherine’s husband, Lord Edward, had just passed away some winters ago in a bout of influenza. Katherine had come to visit for a brief amount of time, wearing her mourning black, and no rouge or any other makeup applied to her equally stony face.

Mr. Moore begged Mrs. Moore to stop writing to Katherine, ‘She’s been a widow for ten years, my dear Mrs. Moore,’ he would reprimand her, ‘She does not need your help!’ But, Mrs. Moore never ended her letters to Mrs. Howlett, not for as long as she lived. Mrs. Howlett, in fact, had written to Mrs. Moore a few years ago. A lord, only signing his letter off as Lord K, had requested Mrs. Howlett’s hand in marriage, for, as he put it, she had been widowed far too long at far too young of an age - as she was only twenty and six at her widowhood. Lord K had promised her a simple life away from the ocean – Mrs. Howlett hated the ocean, as the petulant waves did not agree with her sleeping schedule, nor did it make caring for her late husband's manor any easier – in the plains, where she would be free to free to race him on horseback and practice her embroidery. However, Mrs. Howlett’s letter ended with her announcing to her sister that she had crumpled up Lord K’s message, tossing it into the sickly-smelling ocean, which made Mrs. Moore quite upset.

Mrs. Moore had even invited Mrs. Howlett to live in town with them, as the Nealy family had recently moved further south to care for Mrs. Nealy’s ailing mother. ‘Katherine,’ she wrote ‘It’s only two hundred and fifty marks, and quite quaint – surely you would bring your entourage of maids and butlers and handmaidens.’ But, Mrs. Howlett did not respond to that letter either, only sending the five hundred coins of allowance. Mrs. Moore pleaded with Mr. Moore to let her visit her dear sister in the west, to convince her to come back – and, to Mr. Moore’s credit, he agreed. Unfortunately, Mrs. Moore got terribly sick the night she was set to leave, and Mr. Moore, ever so superstitious, canceled the trip, taking Mrs. Moore’s sickness as a ‘bad omen’ from God himself.

That skinny, horse-faced woman rushed into the morning room, fondling the wooden cross that hung around that thin neck of hers. Mrs. Moore would always tell Mr. Moore – when Dorothea was not in earshot – that the young girl should fatten up a bit: ‘For her head shall fall off if she continues to only eat bread and drink milk!’

‘Mrs. Moore,’ Dorothea whispered, ‘someone is asking for you at the door.’

And so, Mrs. Moore had called for Mr. Moore, as she believed it to be rude to answer the door only by herself, something Mr. Moore found quite odd. Dorothea stood by their flank, warning them that the woman looked quite torn, and may as well have been a beggar hobbling around town, asking for marks from the gentry. Yet, as Mrs. Moore opened the door, letting the morning air barge in and bite the bottom of her legs, she stopped, staring cautiously at the woman in front of her: a hollow, lanky woman with dark, sunken eyes, a dirtied black chemise and untamed, hair the shade of tree bark. The three members of the Moore household stood there, silently, as the woman stared at Mrs. Moore, gripping a painting – which looked to be of a man with wealth. Behind her, a simple, purple-black carriage, led by two speckled horses, proudly stood in front of the Moore house. Mrs. Moore faintly remembered a similar carriage, carrying her sister off to the west after the festivities of her wedding had ended.

It is with deep sorrow that Her Royal Highness Princess Cecily and I, Prince Edward Caius, confirm the passing of our beloved aunt and cousin, Her Royal Highness Princess Calliope Analiese Alstion. We extend our gratitude for the efforts of Her Excellency, the Lady Emissar Emma Kortevich in informing us forthright, and further announcements regarding her passing will be made in due course. We do ask for privacy at this time but encourage the people of Aaun to join us in mourning our shared loss by donning black until the funeral procession occurs. We thank our cousins of Enswerp for graciously hosting the funeral and look forward to coming together as a family, and more importantly as a nation, in reflecting on the light Princess Analiese left upon the world – which was extinguished all too soon. We extend our thoughts to House Sarkozic and the County of Aldersberg and pray that the Count be found alive and well.

We would like to reassure you about the recent rumors about Valerie's health. It is important to clarify that my mom is going through a period of convalescence, but her condition is under control and there is no cause for concern. She is being followed very carefully by some doctors and is continuing with her usual medication, which monitors her health.

Mother Valerie, although she has decided to take a period of rest necessary for full recovery, has expressed her firm resolve to continue working for the good of our city and community. She is in constant contact with the royal family and the city council, continuing to ensure the regularity of institutional activities, the city and as well as what sets us apart.

We are confident that with the support of our family, doctors and the entire city, Valerie will recover soon. We ask everyone to continue to have confidence and to avoid the spread of unfounded rumors that could create unnecessary alarmism.

Our community has always shown a great sense of solidarity and unity. Today, as always, we urge you to remain united and continue to work together for the good of our city.

As the question of succession flurries through our apostolic kingdom like a tempest, we as a family have become divided by the varying visions regarding the future of our realm. Nature often proves itself a harsh mistress that would not allow many a moment of respite, but, if only for a moment, the tumultuous winds of politics have ceased for our House of Alstion as we witness the passing of one of our own. The loss of our beloved Princess Calliope Analiese, sister and aunt to many, reminds all of us that in spite of our competing aspirations, we must come together to take this moment to mourn. Let her untimely passing be a uniting moment for our people as we endeavor into the uncertain hereafter of our regency.

Join us in Enswerp to remember Princess Calliope in the coming Saint's week.

CALLIOPE ANALIESE ALSTION C. 1999

The day began as any other, the sun rose over the eastern horizon of the Adrian Diaspora. With the sun rose the to-be bride on the day of her wedding. Her stomach turned with nerves as she lifted herself from the cushy bed in which she slept, met with the disapproving gaze of the Raev ladies that’d been assigned to aid her on this most important day. With a sigh, ANALIESE rose from her bed, her arms extended to accept a woolen housecoat from her ladies as she made for the neighboring room. She was met with her to-be husband, enjoying his breakfast with a few lords of the Adrian privy council. 

As the day wore on, the Princess’ mood only grew more erratic. She gripped the frame of her bedroom door as her wedding dress tightened around her waist. It was an elaborately designed dress, overseen by Analiese herself, fit with a gilded corset that seemed to push the life from her. Her ensemble was punctuated by a Raev headpiece braided into her blonde hair. All the while, Analiese seemed to be elsewhere, allowing the day she’d so meticulously planned to pass her by. . .

Her mind drifted, instead, to months prior when she’d made a trip to Haense.

Amidst the chaos of her nephew’s succession Analiese decided to stake her own claim. Despite her weak claim, being the youngest child of the long-dead King John, it was a selfish attempt at a seat upon a throne she’d always thought she was fit for. For her entire life she watched as, first, her brother Charles inherited their father’s kingdom and squandered it, then, her nephew Godwin allowed the realm to continue its downward spiral, and finally she accompanied her nephew Markus in his attempts for the throne succeeding his brother. It was at this moment that she decided to make claims of her own. Only in part for her wishes to see her homeland prosper and to see her family united again, but more so to sit upon the throne - to call herself Queen. 

The trip was wrapped in the guise of diplomacy of state, though she opted to meet with her old companion, the Oracle of Maenvestiyaeo as opposed to his brother, the King. It was not an explicit desire, though Analiese hoped they might rekindle their friendship that she so cherished in her youth. Though her wishes were quickly dashed as figures descended upon the keep. Planted centrally in a frozen lake, the keep stood isolated from the outside world, an island with no other inhabitants but the small family Josef had created in her absence. 

The isle was not so easily overtaken, the beasts were sworn off though not without claiming something of their own. As the dust settled and the spirits were at bay, Analiese laid eyes on Josef, slumped against the wall with an arm crossed over his lap. His eyes flickered open and closed, and her stomach dropped. She’d hardly seen the battle, despite being one of only two adults present. It was a feeling she didn’t think she was capable of anymore, something she’d not felt in some time. 

The feeling stuck with her. . .

In a blink she’d been ushered from her quarters to the Adrian chapel. It was a dark place, deep within the belly of the earth. A mixture of dank stone drippings and incense overwhelmed her senses as she passed through the threshold. The air was cold and hummed distant echoes of dripping water into unseen pools. From across the dimly lit room, his face illuminated by flickering candlelight, Analiese spotted Mateusz at the side of the priest who would likely be overseeing their impending nuptials. 

She made her way over to him, standing at his side and gazing out over the subterranean chapel as guests began to slowly arrive. She imparted hushed words unto him, “I am nervous.” It was as if the words were fighting to spill from her lips from the moment she’d woken up that morning. “You’ll be fine.” He returned from over his shoulder, she could see his cheeks crease with a smile. 

It will be fine she repeated to herself, eyes scanning the congregation - mostly Adrians - as they continued to find their seats. With every opening of the door she could not help but imagine herself leaving through it. And so, she did. She departed from Mateusz’s side and began toward the door. As she departed the altar the room began to spin around her, the sounds of dripping stalactites and rushing brooks crescendoed until she reached the door at last, pushing it open and beginning up the steep staircase. 

She’d never felt more unlike herself when the sun met with her skin. She winced, the light in stark contrast to the dark church she’d emerged from. Her hand rose then, ripping the headdress from her hair, the braid coming undone in the process and her hair falling to her shoulders. She began to sweat, the layers of her dress beginning to feel as if they were suffocating her. She had become undone. 

Kasandra emerged from the chapel to console her, but it was to no avail. She was determined, departing for Valdev moments later with only a hastily written letter to her would-be husband in her wake. 

In the following days a stench sat in the air around the Haeseni fairgrounds, an Alstionite Princess was no longer.

A Century’s Eclipse at Falcon’s Rest, the 19th of the Sun’s Smile

R E C O U N T I N G

A recollection of the events that unfolded:

A hush rippled throughout the Great Hall of Falcon’s Rest as Prince Edward Caius stood once more to look upon the assembly of guests and friends alike. Even Princess Cecily, unsure of what was to come, looked up to him in curiosity, for all awaited the Prince’s final announcement, one that would mark the feast’s end. 

“I would like to thank you all again for coming, but there is one more announcement I’d like to make.” His gaze turned to Princess Cecily, a subtle warmth in his eyes. “Over these past few months, Her Royal Highness and I have shared much in dialogue,” he began. “As we are so unified in mind, I would hope that the same unity could be found in body and soul.”

With a steady breath, Edward knelt before Cecily, drawing a gleaming silver ring from his tunic—a deep blue diamond catching the light and shimmering like the calm before a storm. “If you would have me, it would be my honor to now mend the lines of Alba and Balamena into one unified Alstion line.” He extended his hand, his voice unwavering, “Tell me, Princess Cecily Amelia of Alstion, will you marry me?”

Gasps and murmurs broke out across the congregation, but in the same moment, the air around them shifted. Gasps did fill the room as the storm about Aevos did fall to silence; the cacophony of winds and deafening thunder stilled, as though the very world held its breath. Shadows deepened as the moon slid over the sun, casting a soft, silver dusk. In that brief, quiet twilight, it was as though earth and sky awaited the Princess’ reply. The congregation watched in a mixture of awe and uncertainty as the storm resumed just as suddenly. A voice broke the silence, “An omen!” called one of the congregants, amidst the murmurs of confusion and frightful prayers. “A bad one!” whispered one voice. “No, a good omen!” insisted another. “You will not speak for God,” came a stern warning from the side of the room.

In the aftermath of the storm’s pause, Cecily met Edward’s gaze, her functional eye bright with wonder; the other, deadened and stormy, appeared much like the tempest that had drawn a pall overhead. “How strange, Edward, that as you spoke… the storm halted, if only for a moment.” She paused, and the sun broke forth anew, casting golden rays that spilled across the trembling earth. “The shadows, they are gone… and so are my doubts.” Her voice rang out with assurance. “Friends, I will marry Edward Caius of Balamena—and unite the lines of Alstions that are three generations apart. Distant in blood we may be, but not in our desire for a bright future.”

At her words, the room erupted in a surge of applause and cheers. “Hear, hear!” several voices cried. “To new beginnings!” proclaimed another, raising his glass high. Above the whispers and murmurs of doubt, the crowd joined together in gaiety, lifting their glasses too.

Malatesta's domains stretched across the plains of the Holy See to the marshland bordering Salvo Republic, a landscape characterized by lush forests, woodlands, majestic mountains and plains. The imposing and majestic castle of the Malatesta Household, watches over the whole land and the Venic town.

Traditions:

The members of the lineage are known for their chivalrous spirit and dedication to justice. As well as a culture about the use of weapons, the culture of food, good eating, and listening to the people.

Alliances and Conflicts:

With Valerie Auclair Malatesta, has woven strategic alliances with other noble families, but has also faced conflicts with dark forces that threaten the peace of the descendants' lands. Today, the lineage is determined to maintain harmony and defend the kingdom from shadows on the horizon and enemies of peace and tranquility.

Legacy:

The House of Malatesta will continue to prosper, with its members engaged in politics and the arts, keeping the tradition of honor and justice alive. Their story exemplifies courage and nobility, and their name is synonymous with greatness throughout the Lowlands.

Opening - Inner Courtyard

Guests will be ushered into the inner courtyard to enjoy light refreshments, including fine wine from the Falkner Vineyards and fresh pear and apple tarts.

Invocation - Great Ballroom

Guests will then move posthaste to the great ballroom to hear welcoming remarks from Lady Camilla Falkner. A prayer over the food will follow.

Dinner - Great Hall

Guests will then move to the Great Hall to dine on local cuisine with a course as followed:

First Course - A fresh garden salad paired with quail, and garnished with local herbs.

Second Course - A selection of choice games; venison, lamb, swan. Served with puffed pastries and jam.

Third Course -  Spiced wine paired with imported sweets and fresh wafers.

Their eldest daughter: HER LADYSHIP, LUCREZIA AGNISE @Itz_Cookie, born with black hair from her paternal bloodline and eyes with a striking resemblance to her mothers, one unseeing as a firstborn daughter of her great-grandmother’s Amelya’s lineage. Another to note is that the Lady bears a resemblance to her maternal grandmother regarding her appearance.
