this is where I lost interest in what you guys had to say on anything related to this argument, there is no point arguing or trying to explain something to a brick wall. Doesn’t listen.

It’s unfortunate that some people here actually want to achieve something and your here wasting their time by trying to cause problems.

I mean, this is not an argument of logic. I don’t care about guns on LoTC therefore I don’t want them, it’s as simple as that. I voted no, I’m telling everyone I know to vote no. I hope it doesn’t pass the admins and yall wasted hours of your time trying to bully those in this thread who opposed you. So pathetic.

You tried to accuse us of abusing a system if it was to be implemented man, why would we not retort that? Thats not just voicing your opinion, thats coming here looking for a fight. If anyone is pathetic it’s you.

Don’t understand what is the fixation with guns. Admins have told us time and time again, the time in the calendar has no relationship with IRL calendar. The date we are on doesn’t mean we should have the same tech in game than the ones being developed in the IRL calendar. I can already see multiple cases of people going #w loads gun #w aims gun #s headshots his enemy with his concealed gun. If people that want them in say it’ll be just like having crossbows and arbalests then have them use those. But adding guns would really affect the fantasy feel of the server.

Cannons I can agree with, they were in LoTC in the past and are easier to control. Since you won’t have people just carrying them around on their backs. (Hopefully)

They are purely for roleplay practically, as you can do the same thing with crossbows. Historically you can even go back to when colonials came to America that the flintlocks were far less effective than the bows that the Indians had for sometime because of the reload time. So while a bow in CRP takes around 2 Emotes to use, a crossbow takes 3-4, magic at T4-5 takes 3-4, a flintlock rifle would take 5 emotes and have the same accuracy as the magic. It just gives another thing to use.

Thank you for engaging your brain, full disclosure that most non-humans do not learn magic and fewer still only learn combat magic. So framing the debate of “Well the non-human communities have this magic” when its hardly comparable to the destructive force of firearms. However I am as prior mentioned open to the debate should there be proper systems put in place to limit or not allow insta one shot kills that would be powergaming.

/sigh/ Then allow me to give the nons-snarky response in that magic for sure needs a buff. While it already has power to be as destructive as a musket, as it will take just as many  emotes to do, and have around the same accuracy, I agree that if you have the power to summon/bend the world to your will, you should be seen as a powerful figure. T5 Magic attacks usually take around 3-4 emotes anyway. Flintlocks would take around this as well. Accuracy would be on a roll obviously and take around the same. Though at the end of the day, this truly does boil down to a community vs community debate and what everyone may consider fantasy. Humans have zero special qualities. Zero. Sure the dwarves you could argue have it tough as well, though at least they have easier Golem access. Humans have needed to create things out of thin air such as a complex law system and as close to real-life government systems in order to be intresting. Guns would have around the same effectiveness as magic, and because of this I would agree that magic probably would need a buff. As well as give a siege method of magic. However if those things are done, I see zero reason why humans couldn’t get guns.

Turning this into “Our community vs their community” is a really mature and well minded way of going about this debate, I am predominately an Elf and I couldn’t give a **** if humans get guns. Now wipe the dribble off your chin and use your brain when engaging in this debate.

Here is my thing, despite magic itself being incredibly boring and useless, to the point where people aren’t even scared or amazed by it anymore in roleplay, humans can’t even learn it properly. Humans live incredibly short lives, and while getting T5 in any magic takes around 20+ years, it will leave the user with a physically weak body. Humans legit are stuck to only doing slice of life roleplay. There is zero inventing that we can do without hitting a techlock, and opening up flintlocks is the only viable option for us to move forward. This isn’t even a debate at this point, it should be straight facts that someone has re-discovered the uses of gunpowder if we legit just raided a fort with grenades and explosive powder in it. Ridiculous.

  6. LOTC will always have a sour taste in my mouth by how they treated you sometimes, they claim to be the best roleplay server yet will always hate you for things you did in game. Something I’ll miss you for is how you never failed to be a positive person, and someone who didn’t bring roleplay problems into real-life. It’s been real homie ?

  7. Sergeant Tovelm would read the missive with a grin to his face stating “While my time in Helena has been short compared to many, I see a disconnect between the nobles and citizens of the city, and how the nobles tend to treat others. While I may see citizens helping one another climb the ladder that is life, I’ll see nobles removing rungs, in a hope of distancing themselves from the common folk. Personally I believe that it’s the duty of the nobles to correct their actions.”

The lore itself reinforces the RP of those who are capable of using this, whilst also delegitimizing the RP of those who don't. That is simply a fact of the matter with no arguement around it. Simply, if an individual chooses not to opt into using this, then they start off at a disadvantage compared to groups who do decide to use this mechanism. The products of IC beliefs are impacted by this lore, as anyone capable of actually seeing prophecies has a mechanical benefit that translates into RP. Sure, it doesn't prevent people from being fortune tellers, but it does put them at a mechanical disadvantage than they otherwise would be.

Agree, and this also ties into the fact that from now on, to be a legitimate fortuneteller you would need to put in a magic application in order to use any of the powers he’s stated.

John Widdlebrook shakes his head with palpable contempt to the woman whom he's spectating in the seven skies "hypocritical obnoxious oreners as always... I was one of the several unarmed men slaughtered by helena guardforce in their city when I was visiting for my usual merchantile work only because I was a suffonian. If only, they are true to their words... Humanity would not be as fractured as it is in the present." His face frowning with disappointment

You were slaughtered? How does one learn the ability to speak from the other side?

  10. Hey Korvic I know a lot of other players have shared the same thought in this thread but thanks a ton for everything you’ve done lately to help the server out. It means a ton to older players and new players such as I that their is a staff member as dedicated to this project as we are to playing it.

  11. Tovelm would scan the missive until a certain part caught his interest.

Albeit we have successfully reclaimed the organs, this was still a sacrilegious act and we absolutely condemn the Sons of Malin and call for their doctor who commited the defilement to be handed over to Church authorities for punishment fitting such a heinous crime.

Tovelm’s eyes would widen as he read about the Sons of Malin

”I would hope that the empire would hire a Hemlock for such important matters, seem like we have been able to get our jobs done recently.”  Tovelm the Giant would mutter to himself, yet continue reading.

“May the Pontiff be with GOD now, his death seems unworthy, and far to brutal for a man of his trade.”

  12. Tovelm of Morsgrad thinks fondly on the times when the night sky is the only compass he had to follow. Tovelm had been taught how to read, write, and speak multiple forms of language in his time in Arcas, and he always wanted to learn more about what he can see. The sky is the limit of what we can see, might as well learn to read it as well.
