A Public Letter to King Antonio De Rivera

                                                              Dear Antonio De Rivera, King of Hyspia.

Allegiance

It is Carlos Mendez, writing to you from my office in Cartagena. There are many things I wish to cover in this letter, starting with my allegiance.

Ever since I was a young boy in Tierra Natal during the reign of Cesar I, I held my loyalty to the Kingship dearly. 

Yet I have grown both mentally and psychically since that point, I finally see that you are not fit for the title. 

These words come at a personal cost for me, as a man who based his teenage years off of serving and protecting you, it truly hurts to say these things.

The Betrayal

Moving onto my next point, I held enough respect to visit your coronation, although my reasoning is mixed, it really holds no relation to you.

The way I was rewarded for years of loyalty and simply wishing to leave was a deadly claim against me, that I was undead! This came with no evidence and no witnesses present. An Utterly shameful attempt at murder.

Yet you previously knew that the men who claimed me to be undead, are untrustworthy, and instead you believe them over me.

Making the bold claim that I am undead, luckily after a quick test by a Norlandic Keeper, this bold lie was proven wrong. Although I still did fear for my life as I was surrounded by swordsmen.

I haven't taken this strike quietly Antonio, you falsely claimed me to be undead, a member of the Osanoran and Cartagenan Government.

My respect towards you has dramatically lowered since I left, starting with the insults thrown at me when I wished to peacefully leave  and continuing with the attempted murder.

Renouncement

Ending this letter comes with the biggest portion of it, the renouncement of my loyalties to the Apostate King.

So I, Carlos Mendez, Lord of House Mendez, renounce my loyalties to the Apostate King Antonio De Rivera, along with House Mendez.

Carlos Mendez would catch the Missive from his brother Jerrito Mendez, giving a quick read over it before throwing it to the side in his office before slamming his fist down onto the table, filled with rage.

 "WILLIAM WILL BE AVENGED, CANONIST STEEL WILL PREVAIL UPON THESE APOSTATES, VIVA A HYSPIA!" 

He proclaims with rage and emotion, raising his hand to his head, feeling remorse for the order given before swiftly slamming his head down onto the desk, obviously no wounds coming from it. Carlos then spends the rest of the evening in his personal chambers, mourning the loss of William and failure of the attempt.

Carlos Mendez reads through the fresh book, cracking a large smile and reading with interest, along with watching the Festival Preparations in Cartagena from a nearby hill,  lowering the book and glancing down the hill at the Men as he quietly mumbles a prayer.

Carlos  Mendez looks upon the old Missive with mixed feelings, sitting in his new Clinic located in Cartagena. Anger and sadness flush over him,  he'd grumble at the sight of the missive, leaning back in his chair and looking over it.

 "I wonder what'll happen to Antonio, seems he's lost his respect for peaceful men like us, all I wish is to live in peace, is that not too much to ask?"

He asks to a fellow Hyspian Medic that was standing by his side, with a sigh he'd stand and walk over to a fireplace, throwing it into the burning fire as he watches it slowly burn into ashes. Soon stepping back and returning to the book he was reading.

Dear Holy Father, Jude II

I would like to apologize for the heretical and apostolical acts I have done against the Holy Church and GOD. I was led down a dark path in my life, I had abandoned GOD and the holy virtue, replacing it with beliefs that most should never hold. I have been lead to the light by his eminence Cardinal Francisco and the Holy Scripture he has provided for me. I have read such documents every night since he had provided me with them. They have reinvigorated my belief in GOD. I wish for forgiveness from you, holy father, and the rest of the church. I wish for the ability to reenter communion. I wish for forgiveness for allowing my family to also be led on such a dark path. I'd also like to give a personal thanks to Javier Francisco-Altamirano for his role in my conversion.

Carlos Mendez, hearing of the death, cries in his Hyspian Home beside his sons, "We may have been on opposite sides in this so called 'Schism' Javier, but our friendship persevered through that, I hope you can find peace in death or whatever may have happened to you my friend, away from these politics and war as they're nothing but a burden to us, I'm finally seeing the error of our fighting and feuds, it only hurts us and will never benefit us." He'd write in a private letter, never sending it but instead keeping it on his desk as a reminder of Javier Francisco-Altamirano.

Carlos Mendez would be patrolling the Outskirts of Osanora when he grabs the Poster, taking a quick look over it, cracking a smile he'd remark "Good Damn job on the poster Felipe, you show promise like your father before you. Can't wait to oversee the Tournament."

Carlos Mendez Would give a little smirk. "Both the Eastcliffe Pretenders and those Tent Savages will pay for their crimes against Sutica and Osanora, Viva a Mendez!" He'd proclaim in his apartment, quickly going back to reading.

Would read over the letter, filled with anger he would slam his fist down on the table before sending Javier a personal letter, reading. "Javier, my dear friend, it comes to great discomfort that a member of my House took such drastic action against a friend of mine and I sincerely apologize. I've seen to it that Jerrito is exiled from Hyspia and House Mendez, as hard as it may be exiling my own brother it must happen. As to punish him for attempting murder against a dear friend of House Mendez, although Jerrito never converted to the Red Faith and stayed Atheist, I wish you the best of luck for your recovery and I request your location as I wish to visit you.

Reading this thesis, Carlos would spit out his Spirits, almost throwing up after reading it

Would read the letter, feeling proud of Antonio, he'd say to another Hyspian. "Proud of this kid, he's done something good and got rid of those Altimarino's."

Carlos Mendez laughs as he hears of the adoption, he remarks  "Guess he has an heir now, shame..."

"Amazing, never thought we'd come this far but due to people like them, I guess we have." Carlos remarks after hearing of the flight

Carlos Mendez would be sitting at his desk in Osanora when he hears of Einar's death, memories flash through his mind of him and Einar as he tears up, he quietly says to himself "I forgive you Einar...."
