Ella was born to a very poor family in the Holy Orenian Empire; she was the only child her parents had. Her father left her mother at a very young age, although her mother never disclosed the reason for his departure. She was raised by her mother and two aunts in the kitchen of a tavern -- the owners allowed them to stay for free in exchange for their labor. The family would attend a Canonist church service whenever they could, although they had to open the tavern in preparation for after service customers often. Ella preferred to clean rooms and dishes -- she felt rather awkward manning the tavern, especially with the prevalence of male customers, who she despised. Growing up, she did not have many friends due to life at the tavern. Ella eventually got sick of feeling lonely; no offense to her aunts of course, but she really wanted to get out of there. So, she packed up a small bag and began living life as a petty thief, stealing what she needed to survive. Occassionally, she found a nice article of clothing or something she could sell, but she especially liked to collect objects that looked like they might be sentimental to someone. Living in the tavern, there wasn't a lot of time or possessions to feel sentimental about, so she valued the sentimental objects of others as a curiosity. Her day to day life currently is still just that, although she has been trying to explore getting an actual job somewhere, or perhaps joining a guard force or something.
