The period of the by-election has come to an end, as we at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner may finally announce the third alderman for the Peoples’ Duma. However, it should be noted that towards the end of his campaign, Mister Ryba Novikov withdrew under the premise that he had married into nobility. We congratulate his honesty throughout the ordeal, and for announcing such to the voters.

The results of the by-election are as follows:

A total of 1200 votes were cast in the election, all of which were deemed valid as opposed to the prior election.

The results of the ballots is as follows:

Miss Rayne - 100 votes | 8.3% 

Mister Skaul MacSkaul  - 900 votes | 75% [ELECTED]

Mister Ryba Novikov  - 200 votes | 16.6%

We at the Office of the Electoral Commissioner must first of all apologise for the time it has taken to publish the results of this election, we must however elaborate, that such time was taken as the Electoral Commissioner, Mister Schumacher-Rosberg, was incapacitated after being in a carriage accident.

However, we are now prepared to publish the results of the 482 E.S. Election for the Peoples’ Duma:

A total of 3600 votes were cast in the election, and we do duly thank every one of our countrymen that took part in the democratic process. However, we must find, as it was a requirement for every ballot to include three candidates, that 1400 votes are to be deemed invalid. This is 38.9% of the total votes.

The results of the ballots deemed valid is as follows:

Miss Rayne - 1000 votes | 45.4% 

Mister Skaul MacSkaul  - 1000 votes | 45.4%

Mister Ryba Novikov  - 1000 votes | 45.4%

Mister Timofei Petrovich  - 1400 votes | 63.6% [ELECTED]

Miss Kaida Valtonen-Novikov  - 1100 votes | 50.0% [ELECTED]

Mister Arthur Vildrthorn  - 500 votes | 22.7%

As the keen reader may notice, three of our candidates, namely Miss Rayne, Mister MacSkaul, and Mister Novikov, have received an equal amount of votes. As a result, a by-election will be held for those three candidates. Only one vote may be cast, and such should be for the preferred candidate.

For those interested, we have attached below a summary of what the electoral picture would have looked like had those invalid votes been counted, though we must reaffirm that this figure is not relevant for the electoral result.

Despite the biting winds of the North and the frigid air that so commonly encompasses the Kingdom, the babe was born healthy, indicated by his shrill cries and vibrant nature. With his fiery locks, he bears most resemblance to his mother, and embodies the strength of his ancestors.

Peoples of Haense, heed this call,

After a most diligent and successful period of nominations for the 482 E.S. elections for the Peoples’ Duma, the period of nomination is not at an end. Instead, now begins the opportunity for the people of Haense to let their voices be heard as they go to the polls to elect their three Royal Alderman representatives for the upcoming term of the Peoples’ Duma.

The Royal Aldermen are the elected representatives of the common people of Hanseti-Ruska, and are tasked with giving a voice to those that are not represented by virtue of their nobility or through the Peer of their local lands.

At the steps to the Ruthern Manor, the goddaughter to Analiesa approached with a weak smile. It had been a tiresome month, but she came to accept the death of her King; her fatherly figure who she held dear. With it, she wished to speak to the Princess Royal and offer her condolences. Family must comfort each other, after all.

The solace that the Duchess felt left as quickly as it came, for when she arrived, Ser Vladimir carried Analiesa. She was lifeless in his arms, and her neck was bruised. At his side was their Queen, Amaya of Venzia, who quivered from the sight that Roslin now too witnessed.

"Is this a nightmare?" Her face paled, but she dared not speak her thoughts. Instead, she walked alongside them to the Everardian Basilica to mourn her alone, filled with regret. If only she could have spoken to the Princess more, perhaps she might have lived for at least another day.

By Decree of HRM Georg I, the Electoral Commissioner and the Deputy Palatine have been tasked with the establishment of Electoral Rules and Regulations, as well as the calling of the first election for the Peoples’ Duma, in accordance with the Edict of Wilheburg (475 E.S.). As such, this document shall outline the newly established Rules for candidacy to serve as a Royal Alderman, furthermore it shall serve for those who wish to register themselves as candidates in the upcoming Election.

The Royal Aldermen are the elected representatives of the common people of Hanseti-Ruska, and are tasked with giving a voice to those that are not represented by virtue of their nobility or through the Peer of their local lands. The Royal Alderman have a profound effect in the Peoples’ Duma, wherein three of them sit as well as the Barons of the Crownlands, where they write, discuss, and pass legislation for all of the Realm.

To run for Royal Alderman, the Electoral Commissioner established the following criteria:

I. One must be at least eighteen years of age.

II. One must be a documented resident of the Realm.

III. One must be of the common class.

IV. One must not have a criminal record.

V. One may not bribe potential voters, or purchase votes.

VI. One may not place advertisement signs on private property without written consent of the property owner.

The Duchess of Valwyck, eldest daughter of Valdemar Baruch, gazed out of her lodging's window. The morning sun had finally peeked through the curtains, and the tavern on the floor below slowly filled. With it, the conversation she vaguely overheard grew; though one stood out to her in particular.

"Have you heard?" A muffled voice exclaimed. "The capital has been named, Valdev!"

She grimaced, her face twisted in anger. "Valde... Valdev?" The thud of her footsteps echoed against the wooden floor as she began to pace. Her mind was in turmoil. How could her King be so brazen with his affections? How had she been so blind in youth? The room was suffocating, thick with the unspoken truths and deliberate misstatements she was raised with. Through her window, Roslin overlooked the castle. Her knuckles faded to a shade of white as they grasped tightly onto the sill.

"I cannot avoid this conversation any longer."

It is most inspiring to see a young figure of Haense, let alone the Grand Prince, willing to take action against a threat which plagues Alamaris as a whole; the Mori’quessir. Lake Voron has been surrounded by their forces as they claim the abandoned Mondstadt Keep as their own. While I am not of knightly status, nor hold a position in the Brotherhood, we must protect our homeland. I shall see to it that my kin will aid in any efforts that you propose, and so too will the men of my Greyguard.

The Houses of Baruch, Colborn, Amador and Gant extend an invitation to all the subjects of His Majesty, noble and common alike, to attend a day of celebration on the shores of their shared lake. Food and drink shall be plentiful, and much of the former shall be pulled from the clear waters of Loch Voron itself. The docks of Lallybroch shall be open for use, with boats available to all and an assortment of other activities in which guests may partake.

I. FISHING ON LOCH VORON

Guests are invited to take to the waters of the great lake in rowboats of fine Ayrikiv make. Those who wish, however, may decorate vessels of their own provided by the House of Baruch. Once they have left the shore, all are encouraged to compete in an angling tournament, competing to catch the most fish in the span of ten Saint’s Minutes. He who returns to Lallybroch with his bucket most full shall receive a prize of one-hundred minae. It is our intent that this event serves as an opportunity to enjoy the natural splendor of the lake, among friends, in a true Ayrikiv fashion.

II. MARKET AT LALLYBROCH

A small market shall be erected at the tourney grounds beyond Lichestadt, offering handmade crafts and trinkets made by skilled Voronian artisans. Guests may expect to find traditional Ayrikiv goods, such as flutes, bagpipes and tartan sashes, as well as those from the other cultures settled on the shores of the lake. Among these are the Scyflings of House Colborn, and the noble House of Amador, each of which shall man a stall in the aforementioned market. 

I. THE FOOL OF AYR

As is tradition, started by the most noble Ser Viktor ‘the Beast’ of House Baruch, a colorful fool shall be on hand to joyous merriment throughout the day. His playful antics and witty jokes are guaranteed to rouse boisterous laughter, while his range of skills and trickery shall surely astonish and amaze. One must be sure to keep an eye out for him as he roams about the grounds, for fun shall surely follow in his wake.

Let it be known throughout the Kingdom of Haense that the Duchess of Valwyck, Roslin of House Baruch, has reached the age of majority and shall claim her birthright as such. This shall mark the 9th Ducal Ascension of House Baruch, and with the trust and faith of her subjects, it is our hope that it shall not be the last as she guides the Duchy of Valwyck and the people of Ayr to newfound heights of prosperity and excellence. 

I. CEREMONY OF ASCENSION

The public ascension of Roslin shall be hosted within Saint Otto’s Cathedral in the Duchy of Valwyck. Relatives of the Duchess will be invited to attend a private baptism at the docks of Loch Voron beforehand.

II. DUCAL JOUST

To commemorate this joyous occasion, a grand joust shall take place, where the most resolute and gifted Haeseni may test their mettle and compete for a reward of four-hundred minae in the name of the new Duchess and the Crown of Haense. Horses shall be provided, as will a lance, and those wishing to partake are encouraged to present themselves in the Valwyck tourney grounds.

Within the confines of her chambers, the child Duchess of Valwyck lay in bed with a dampened cloth on her head. An unfortunate fever had taken any energy she had left for correspondence, blood splattering from the forcefulness of her coughs. She tossed and rolled beneath her sheets, deciding it best to shove them off all together with a groan.

A maid scampered in to the noise ringing the otherwise quiet halls to situate Roslin, and at the girl's request, she read out the latest documents of Haense’s affairs. "Did we send Raudraik the unrevised pamphlets?" Was all she grumbled out before finally dozing back into her slumber. All of her duties at this time were delegated to the Amadors and her Lord Regent in hopes that she would recover swiftly enough to attend her Uncle's wedding.

From lands afar, a pamphlet found its way into the hands of the Viscountess of Greyspine, a dear friend of Amadea of Susa. Weary eyes read over the text, and her hands clenched tightly onto the paper. As Margrait loomed over the balcony of her room, she told her husband, "We missed it. She was meant to outlive me, she told me as much."

And the Viscountess believed it true, the conversations she had with Amadea of her impending death lingering in her memories. A solemn time, but more comforting to her than recent years. "Did she read my letter? She could not have left us, wondering, could she?"

“PIECES OF PROVIDENCE”

Under the watchful eye of Her Majesty Amadea of Susa, I, Octavia Helen, youngest daughter to Philip III and Anastasia I, have long practiced the fine arts from the comforts of Karosgrad. I am most pleased to announce that my studies have borne fruit. I do believe myself proficient enough to offer my services to the public, as my eldest sister, HIH Catherine once did when Providence still stood. I pray that I might do her proud.  

Be you Haeseni, Acrean, Balianite, or what have you, I shall henceforth entertain requests to put paint to canvas and chisel to stone on your behalf. One may find me wandering the halls of the Morrivi in Karosgrad, or of course, through way of bird. 

OCTAVIA’S PORTFOLIO

Pricing shall be dependent on the scale and intricacy of the piece one wishes to purchase. Portraits painted from reference shall cost a fee of twenty-five minas. Those painted without shall cost a basic fee of one-hundred minas, with the price increasing in the same manner as mentioned above. 

Busts cut from marble shall cost one-hundred minas in most cases. Should the piece prove particularly strenuous, or be in need of further detail, the price may be increased to a limit of one-hundred-fifty minas. 

Below, I have seen fit to attach both a collection of paintings commissioned by His Grace, the Duke of Vidaus, as well as a series of busts depicting a few recent names in history. In addition to previous works, I have included two of the portraits commissioned by Her Majesty Amadea of Susa before her death.

"Ah had thought our Grand Maer would at least look into the matter properly before he made wild accusations. Ye were clearly appointed for yer experience."

Margrait Ruthern read the document with glee to her nation's position, where she then glanced toward the halls where her many children and bastards slept. "It is near time the children all became cadets, the Orenians would wet themselves at the sight of our child soldiers," she remarked to the Duke of Vidaus. @indiana105
