MorUkk Nazu'Lak was born to ThardNu and Miezo of Clan Lak. ThardNu was a lower shaman, studying the craft of Farseeing, and became so troubled by what he saw that it sent him into depressive spiral, damaging his reputation and resulting in the decision to take their small family out of Krugmar to live in the fringes of the swamp where they eventually had another child: KrumUkk. ThardNu's condition continued to deteriorate over the years until Miezo one day found his body hanging from a nearby tree, covered in self-inflicted runic cuts. Mourning the loss of her mate, Miezo withdrew into herself and rejected the spirits. MorUkk was forced to grow up very quickly to protect his mother and younger brother as he became protector and provider. Seeing the toll his father's death took on his family caused MorUkk to resent his father, viewing him as a failure and disgrace, vowing to live in defiance of his memory. Having been raised by then-spiritual parents, MorUkk continued to observe the basic traditions, though a lot of it was going through the motions as his primary focus became caretaker. And so life went for years. It wasn't perfect by any means, and it was lonely, but it worked for them. One day as MorUkk returned home from hunting to their hovel in the swamp, a sudden unease overcame him as he noticed a large yellow frog passively staring at him in the distance. Looking back, it was gone, but the dread continued to pound into him as he hurried home. Approaching his home, he immediately noticed the door, broken from its hinges. He tossed the deer carcass from his shoulders and scrambled inside to find the corpses of Miezo and KrumUkk under a warning written in their blood: "NO ORCS NEAR ELVISH LAND." Despair quickly gave way to rage as MorUkk tore apart the interior of his home looking for any potential clue as to the perpetrators, though there was little available. Elves from Elvenesse perhaps? He knew he had to entreat the spirits for help: they were his only hope. He carefully gathered his mother and brother and bundled them delicately before bringing them to the center of the swamp and preparing a funeral pyre. Unsure of the proper rituals, he muddled his way through, allowing instinct to guide him, but found little solace. About to give up, he looked up to see that same large yellow frog staring at him, sitting on a stump. Then it hit him: LAKLUL? He paused and bowed his head before slowly approaching the frog. "Throm'ka Laklul. Mi need latz help. ...Pleez." The frog stared at him for a long moment before it croaked and hopped off, disappearing immediately into the swamp. Forlorn, he scanned the area to see where it had gone before noticing the stump. Trembling he reached forward to run a finger along the bone necklace left behind: his father's shaman necklace from years ago. He picked it up and examined it, slowly tracing the runes before stopping at the symbol of the Krugmar flag etched into the back of the largest bone. He slowly put the necklace around his neck and turned back to the burning embers of the pyre. "Mi kno whut mi need tu dew nao. Rulg Laklul. Mi promiz mi wull uhvenj lat Momo, KrumUkk."
