  1. Eyes shoot open from the darkest depths, awoken once more - finally, with a duty to fulfill. From the frozen tundra of Almaris, they will learn one's fury. A beast was set free from it's cage, and it was hungry.. for-

    "Blood."

One shall see to that the will of Xion will be enforced, whether that be by words of witness.. or by violence.

"Radiant is the Black Sun, perhaps I'll pay Morael a visit.."

    Spoiler

Time to get spoopy.. @LilTee2000 :>

  2. An oyashiman man would come across this missive with a quirked brow, what once was pure curiosity has now become an ominous sense of dread.

"And now they worship Widukind? Tsk.. these people. Oh how the mighty of this religion have clearly fallen.."

He sighed, taking down a metal note of this Vicar of Yulthar within his mind before finally departing from this mysterious missive.

  3. A certain figure in a plague mask read this flyer over through a crooked grin, certainly amused.. whilst offering a certainty for arrival to such an event. Though it was at an odd time for them, they would try to be punctual.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Mysticism

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

    Summary:

Mysticism, a foul form of magic that most may call 'Dark Magic'. It originated from a group of Arcanists who sought after the knowledge to achieve immortality, causing them to go to extreme lengths to even tamper with death itself. With their perseverance, they managed to learn how to manipulate phantasmal entities to their will and through this would they truly understand the consequences of tampering which such beings.  Society had casted the group out for their terrific methods of obtaining their knowledge as well as the power they held over the undeath of this plane, so they sought refuge underground where they continued their research in secret - calling themselves 'The Tetrad'. Through their efforts, the mortals managed to gather all their knowledge into a single volume known as The Grimoire Of Phantoms - a cursed book with all the cultivated knowledge of 'The First Synod'.

They trekked through deep caverns until they stumbled upon a gleaming spire beneath the earth, whereas they'd begin slaughtering each other to fill that dark obelisk with their own souls. After many years would those souls start to join together into a creation most foul - an Amalgam or more commonly known as an Apparition, a giest filled with the damned souls of those slaughtered. This wretched creation of horrific power would be known as Mythul Tlan, The Waking Synod - the first of it's kind. And as the ages passed on, The Grimoire Of Phantoms of the old Synod would be rediscovered by the very first Mystic ever to be created - Uldrivt. Mythul Tlan would take over the body and mind of Uldrivt by the power of the Grimoire, overwhelming his mortal coils until his body turned into solid stone. Over time a pale blue light emerged from the stone corpse where finally a whole new entity would emerge from it's crevices, one that was not Uldrivt nor Mythul Tlan. It would be known as Kozilek, the first Wight and Barrowlord of 'The Second Synod'.

    Mechanics:

In order for one to be a Mystic, they must first go through the Rite of Conjoinment by a Wight Barrowlord. The Wight must wound the soul of the aspiring Shepard and bind their soul with a phantom - usually procured from a trial held prior to the ritual itself. This allows the Mystic to be brought closer towards the border line between life and death, allowing them to manipulate and conjure the ectoplasm from their conjoined phantom to enact this power by the will of The Synod. In order for one to further ascend as a Mystic, they must undergo the Rite of Conjoinment once more at Tier 3.

With such power of the undeath there are detrimental consequences, both physically and mentally. Those who establish a ephemeral connection with their inner phantom and taken up the path of a Conjurer would find their strength being seeped from their body, physically weakened and vulnerable. They'd take up a gaunt appearance whereas their hair might fade into a shade of white whilst their skin may wrinkle and sag. Those whom establish a more tangible connection with their inner phantom and have taken the path of the Blade will not have any changes to their strength but they would have less potency within rituals, however with their strength kept they inherit a greater degree of vulnerability to Aurum.

Regardless of which path the Mystic takes, they will all be afflicted with the mental side effects of being conjoined with their phantom. The detriments of having a phantom within your soul are taxing upon the Mystic's life, voiding them of any sort of joy or merriment as they stray further and further from the reality of the living whilst getting slowly dragged down with the sorrows of the dead. They may find themselves being tormented by vivid hallucinations and haunted by nightmares each night in their sleep, generally experiencing greater levels of anxiety, obsessive disorders, insomnia and depression.

However, once conjoined a Mystic will be able to utilize their phantom's ectoplasm. Ectoplasm is a strange cross between mana and lifeforce, when conjured materially it may appear as a luminescent ichor, a thickened substance that composes all phantoms, Wights and other phantasmal entities. As the Mystic progresses through tiers they grow more familiar with the occult art of Mysticism. they are able to draw more ectoplasm from their phantom for better use.

    T1 - 1-2 liturgies

    T2 - 2-3 liturgies

    T3 - 3-4 liturgies

    T4 - 4-5 liturgies

    T5 - 5-6 liturgies

However, if the Mystic uses up all their liturgies of ectoplasm they will experience a feverish sickness - causing severe headaches, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and feverish chills. Those who repeatedly exhaust their liturgies in short periods of time will gradually damage their physicality and experience these symptoms in long term for the remainder of their lifetime.

The first step into conjuring one's ectoplasm for spells is to gleam. Gleaming is a process where you summon forth your inner phantom, by doing so one's skin will turn translucent and sink back to the bone, hair might turn slick white whilst whatever garments you might be wearing, this including both robes and armor, shall appear tattered and worn by age and time - as though decayed and rusting away. These effects are not as obvious for a newly conjoined Mystic, however it would be fairly visible upon those who progress in each tier - making their appearance appear more gaunt and horrific like their very own phantom. As the Mystic is conjoined they are also bestowed with True Sight where they may perceive phantoms who seek refuge behind the veil and away from mortal eyes.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

As stated before in the passage above, a Mystic may take either one of the two paths of Mysticism. These paths are known as The Blade and The Conjurer, whereas the Mystic may freely choose as to which path they may want to take. They are as followed:

    Mystic Blades:

Mystic Blades are Mystics who focus more upon melee combat within the Synod, sacrificing their potency in Mystic Arts in exchange for retaining their physical strength. The Blades utilize more combat oriented spells and can summon forth their conjoined phantoms to aid them in battle in a corporeal form. The following liturgies are locked under Mystic Blades and cannot be utilized by Mystic Conjurers due to their difference in nature:

    -Spiriting
    -Enervation
    -Diminish
    -Expulsion

    Mystic Conjurers:

Mystic Conjurers, unlike Mystic Blades, sacrifice their physical strength in exchange of being more adept in the occult art of Mysticism. For lack of better terms, Conjurers are the spellcasters due to their stronger connection with their phantom and the Ebrietas. Though their physique has been substantially weakened, much akin to that of voidal poisoning upon a voidal mage, it allows them to conjure forth their phantom in a more corporeal manner and inflict curses and maladies upon their enemies. The following liturgies are locked under Mystic Conjurers and cannot be utilized by Mystic Blades due to their difference in nature:

    -Feeding
    -Handling
    -Posession
    -Draining

    Basic Liturgies:

Whilst the above liturgies are locked to their respective specialization paths, what shall be listed are the 'Basic Liturgies' which may be utilized by any and all Mystics - it matters not of their specialization.

    -Saturation
    -Deadbreath
-Walling (Provided the Mystic is Amputated)

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

The following will be the example of the liturgy known as: Expulsion

    Example Emote One:

Yukio widened his stance ever so slightly as a sickly sapphire aura started to grow along his form, wisps of ectoplasm rolling over his shoulders and arms. His skin turned translucent, sinking back to the very bone of his mortal coils whilst his hair washed over in a slick white hue - leaving him as a ghastly figure of gaunt appearance. His armor seemed to rust within a blink of an eye, ravaged by the hands of time through his phantasmal aura. Luminescent sapphire ectoplasm expelled lightly which each exhale he took, faintly dissipating in the air - barely visible in the daylight.

    Example Emote Two:

And as the Shepard took on that ghastly appearance, they'd seek to further commune with their inner-phantom from within their soul. "Let the battle commence." he proclaimed in a harrowing tune of  unison, a cacophony that echoed through his helm in a grim tone. That phantasmal luminescent aura would then begin to gather just in front of his chest, shrouding his form in a cloud of ectoplasm that briefly engulfed his form. From beneath that thin veil of ethereal sapphire smog would a ghoulish phantom begin to emerge from the Shepard's figure, ripping itself from the confines of his mortal coils.

    Example Emote Three:

An ear piercing wail would echo across the vicinity as the giest soon ripped free from the Shepard's body, upon it's form it wore the very same armor as the Shepard himself and within it's palm it held a large war hammer which glimmered an ethereal sheen. Luminescent sapphire ichor would drip from the phantom's form which was tethered to the Shepard's own body, heeding it's master's command as it would now strike forth in a frightening pace to cut down whoever stood in their way with a deathly wail - a warning for those who dared to intervene.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    Liturgy: Ennervation

"You wished to learn our ways, then come. Show me your resolve and strength." the oyashiman called upon their student as he would clasp his hands behind his back, his multicolored hues eyed his student up and down before his brows began to furrow and knit together. "Well what are you waiting for then? Summon forth your phantom." he ushered them with a wave of his palm, snapping his fingers right in their face as to grasp their attention - for the oyashiman seemed to pace back and forth within their lesson, using a strict tone upon his student for their hesitance. "Never hesitate, young one. That shall be your first and your last mistake."

As Yukio's student would gleam, he soon followed suit as his ebony locks washed over into a slick greyish white hue whilst his gaze seemingly turned hollow. His skin sunk back to the bone as his frame was revealed whilst his robes were instantly ravaged by the hands of time - torn asunder and tattered away as if shredded by a none existent wind. A sickly sapphire mist started to wisp about his form as a eerie chill would seep into the vicinity, the Shepard himself eyeing his student down as he observed their own transformation. "Very good, you learn fast my dear pupil." He nodded as his voice now echoed through various different tones, as if multiple voices spoke in a unison from his maw. "We shall be learning a spell which will tire your enemies, making them weak and vulnerable so that you have the upper hand in combat. Are you ready?"

"Excellent. Now, do as I do. Begin focusing your phantom's essence into your palm, like so." He would state with an outreached palm as a luminescent ichor began to coalesce betwixt his digits, pooling through the crevices of his fingers as it would drip through his grasp. The student would follow up with their mentor's guidance, attempting at mirroring the spell to the best of their abilities. "Good, you've gotten a grasp on it. A satisfactory result, considering it is your first time learning the spell." He'd appraise his student's efforts with a wry smile.

He'd then hold his other palm out, gesturing towards the middle of his chest. "Now strike me." he intoned simply, putting his arm out to allow his student to know he would not strike back. The student struck him straight upon his front, the ectoplasmic ichor sinking deep within his chest as it sent a subtle aching to his bones. "Very good, it may not be much at first. But with enough practice, your spell will increase it's potency."

"Gradually, it will make your opponents feel like this." Yukio promptly shoved his own palm into his student's chest, his sapphire like ichor sinking deep into their body where they'd nearly stumble to the ground from the sudden fatigue and lethargy that hit them - save by Yukio holding them up by their arm. "With this, your opponents won't even be able to fight you. It is a useful tool, once mastered correctly. Be patient and persevere through your training, then one day you may do the same. In the mean time, rest. I shall see you in our next lesson."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I will first make sure if the issue of them powergaming was because of miscommunication. If it was, I would ask them why they would do so and explain to them their mistakes so that they understand the consequences of their actions. I'd then teach them the proper way of the action they had powergamed so that they may not repeat their mistakes and remedy their own actions in the future.

However, if they repeatedly powergame and disobey my warnings. I will bring this to the attention of Story Team and other Mystic Teachers to handle the situation more professionally.
