Within the pine forests, a young seeker sat before a tree with her blade across her lap. An empty gaze staring forth at the slowly dying wick of a candle as she lamented the loss of the keeper. She remembered the fiery initiate who refused to step down in battle, having to drag him from the ruins of Mori invasion. She remembered his offer to give her a place to feel welcome as she braved the world alone.
"Salvation is no more, the titan shall fall."
The seeker uttered the vow as she rose, the flame of the candle finally dying out as she would continue forth with her journey.

Just to double confirm, this means stealthily ambushing a character in the midst of crp is not possible due to the first 2 emotes needing to ensure your characters presence is known to everyone involved?
Sorry misworded what I meant, oocly everyone has to know you are there but they don't have to know you irp. So to some degree you can't have a true sneak attack since people at some level will be aware you are there but you don't need to broadcast your location or anything.

Just wanted to confirm, does this mean OOCly known or RPly I'd have to be seen/wave/some action to allow everyone in the RP to know my presence IRP?
Within the context of the rules, if I were to witness the start of a combat (Lets say 5 minutes after start) and this scenario was in the streets of a city, would I be unable to do my required two emotes to join from behind a nearby building to obscure my position visually irp.
What of a common bar brawl scenario, two characters start a fight in the tavern behind my character at the bar, can my two emotes be drinking and setting down my drink before my character turns to sock one of the fighters?
Would just like a bit more clarity as I can see this specific rule being moderated differently depending on how mods interpret it.Make your presence known on an ooc level atleast.
For the first one, the building one your emotes would need to be able to be at least heard but they do not need a visual line of sight on you.
For the bar fight, yes those 2 emotes can be anything you wish as long as it makes your character in that location irp.2 -

Forgive the lack of knowledge here, but has it always been #rp only or could you also have halted someone in #shout prior to this amendment?
Always has been.

I don't get why the 'invisible' rule is still in play, such a bizarre addition of
"oh just ignore bob being stabbed over there he doesn't exist trust me bro"
And the combat lock addition feels like just kicking the can down the road instead of a definitive change.
Pancho responded to the first half of this as for the change to the rule the poll I did about a month ago was in favor of keeping the rule with just a longer timer.

Hello everyone! I have made some small changes based on feedback to the current combat rules we have. The most notable being an extension on combat lock for rally bell. The rules page is already updated but here are some quick notes below on what was added.
Rule Additions:
- Combat lock is extended by 15 minutes upon ringing of a rally bell.Spoiler1. Combat is considered “locked” 15 minutes after the initial emote with the intent to pursue combat, preventing others from joining unless both sides agree. Ringing a rally bell may reset this timer once during the combat.
-
Once combat is locked, players involved in the fight will be “invisible” to everyone who is not in the combat.
-
Once combat has ended players are freely allowed to leave unrestricted by anyone outside of the initial combat.
-
If at least one of three emotes for a rally bell is completed before the initial 15 minute lock, parties may continue to ring to extend the timer.
-
The rally bell cannot be rang or attempts cannot be made after the initial 15 minute lock.
- Added 3 minute timer to start PvP
Spoiler4. Players have 3 minutes to initiate a countdown after agreeing to PVP to start.
- Camping of SS pillars disallowed
Spoiler8. Camping soulstone pillars for CRP is not permitted.
- Running before countdown is prohibited
Spoiler4. In the event of mechanical flee, both parties must wait for the countdown to finish before moving, moving early is not permitted.
Rule Amendments / Clarifications:
- Clarified halt rules
Spoiler2. A sufficient halting emote immediately begins the CRP encounter; involved parties must adhere to the movement rules. If the party halted chooses to continue to run, they will be teleported back by a moderator.
-
A sufficient halting emote must be said in #rp, and contain a descriptive halting action such as “He moves to block her path, a hand held towards their weapon”, or both dialogue and said action.
-
When emoting, blocking or impeding the target's path, you must physically be in their path or your emote must depict your character moving into it.
- Small wording change to joining ongoing combat (can draw weapons on 2nd emote instead of 3rd)
Spoiler5. In order to join an ongoing combat scenario, you must make two emotes making your character’s presence known before being able to engage in the ongoing combat. Likewise, to leave combat you must emote three times unhindered, making your character's attempts to leave known.
-
The first of two emotes to join will be your character making their presence known at the sight of conflict and is non-combative. On the second emote, one may begin to prepare for combat (drawing weapons, connecting to magic etc.).
-
Although you need two emotes to join combat, only the first emote must be made in the 15 minutes before the CRP lock.
- Added techlock link for easy access
- Removed MRP

the middle poll option should be keep with change instead of just the 1 alternative choice of extending the timer. what the change is can be discussed by community
This poll is meant to be a simple baseline on what direction things should be looked at regarding this rule, can get more detailed with it later mostly just wanting to see if the rule should be kept vs removed.

For all comments mentioning specifics like capitals I would like to avoid that for two reasons.
What defines a capital? The build or the region, both are flawed.
Capital regions are not drawn to the city usually are just big boxes that sometimes can be way bigger
Capital builds is inconsistent as well what about the places like halflings who don't use walls what gauges in and out of the capital city5 -
Hello everyone! I am here today to bring you the first area of combat rules I would like to address.
Combat Lock has been recently a topic that I see popping up more and more in debate and discussion to whether it is a necessary rule and if the community actually wants it at this stage. For that reason here I bring you a small poll to gauge general community reception to the rule to see how we should consider it going forward. The options are simple as they are just remove the lock, keep it, or make a minor tweak in changing the time. If you have more you would like to say on the matter or other ideas please feel free to leave it in a comment or speak about it within the moderation discord.

The missive would reach the attention of the wandering knight as she set out from what was once a home to her for a brief time. "Will there ever truly be an end to any conflict?" she would ask herself as she cast a final glance at the destruction war had already caused, before setting off to venture once more.

I think another issue that causes these massive empty realms is the fact that every tile has a valuable resource (except amethyst) so keeping a one tile realm unless you settle on netherite is just a pure disadvantage in any sort of conflict scenario. This causes the drive to just buy land strictly for war economy purposes resulting in realms with way more land than they honestly need imo. (There is a lot of netherite in the north of the map leading me to think this is partly why many are choosing to settle up there as well)
