Lorena (Lena) Rojas was born in a small village near Haense, and she always used to help her mother Bernadette sewing dresses and picking fabrics. They both worked hard to support the family, as their father Rickard had no job and suffered from an alcohol addiction. Their hard work kept the Rojas family out of trouble, but they hardly had any coins to spend. Father Rickard blamed Lorena, her mother and her siblings Ava, Miles, Alexander and Mabel for everything that went wrong, and over time he became violent. Not only did he beat his wife, but also his kids. This all came to an end when Lorena got woken up in the middle of the night, Bernadette had gathered the children and together they fled to the capital of the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. Not long after she met a new man, a decent one this time. The man, Markus, offered them shelter, food, and jobs to get on their feet again. It all went great until Bernadette became ill and died soon after. She left behind her children, and Markus who swore to raise and protect them. He did a great job, but Lorena and her siblings began to wonder if there was more about the world than they had seen in Haense. Before Bernadette died, Lorena promised her beloved mother to chase her destiny, make her proud, fall in love, and live the best life she could possibly have. The Rojas sibings decided to each go their own way, with their own ambitions and dreams. After her 17th birthday, Lorena decided to travel the world to learn more about sewing, hoping to find friends and perhaps love on the way. When she heard some rumors about magic, she decided to go after them, curious about what it meant or could do. She never heard of her father again, and still keeps in touch with Markus and her siblings. She often writes letters.
