I personally hate MC PvP. mechanics make it so that it's pretty much imbalanced at most times, but there is ONE thing that makes me prefer it and something that I have not seen addressed in this post: Players who have their charater dodge/block everything from A to Z and are essentially Jackie Chan sent to Asulon to be the best there ever was. This is why I can't RP fight, almost every situation I have had (granted I have not fought much, my charater is a recluse) the other player constantly refusing to be touched by the most valiant of my charaters efforts (My charater is a tall, nimble elf like charater with great swordsmanship, and is faster than most other beings), even when they are an orc or dwarf. It's INFURIATING, so my question is this: WHEN exactly is an attempt to strike in RP combat undeniable? When does the other person HAVE to accept the blow their charater has been given?

  4. This is what I've been looking forward to for a while now. This is what the server needs - if players like it or not. Not only is this great for the server's plugins - maybe allowing us to have a interface for book reading, spells, possibly even removal of name plates(Debatable), it would also open up a wider range of mods for us. But, Vaq, I think it should not be a .jar file, I say the best thing to do is to create a simple mod installer, step by step. Would be much more convenient for the player base if it was done this way, because while most people on this server know how to add/remove mods, there might be a minority that do NOT, of which this would help them with a simple step-by-step "setup wizard" for the modpack. Overall, I give Client Mods my full support, I hope to see them added in the near future!
  5. I don't mind the long travel distances. Roads are still being worked on to connect places, so that might be a factor. I don't have much, but the party system idea sounds good, though maybe the teleport feature might be a bit much. knowing each other's location I belive would fit better. Edit: I remebered a plugin that I was linked to a while back, VoxelVoyage, a MC flightpath system like in WoW. I have been told it's configurable to take money. As for all applications, I am sorry I did not attend to you sooner, but I will tell you, currently all applications I have not commented on, that is to say, a lot, all fall under 'Denied.' I also see most of these people have changed their charaters, so anyone still wishing to join may feel free to reapply, or apply if you have not already!

Alras Charter(Fiefdom) Guidelines This topic outlines the format you are intended to use for applying to Become a Fiefdom under the banner of Alras, It will also outline the rules of what happens when you take upon the banner of the Alrasian nation and it's capitol, Alras City. Conditionals: By applying to become a Fiefdom under Alras you agree to the following terms and have read them and understand their meanings. All rules are open to interpretation to the current reigning High King. 1. You become under the jurisdiction of Alras and Alras City, the capitol. All Officials of Alras will gain power within your land and reach, and will be acknowledged by any military, milita, or combat group, as well as the ruling party of that land at that time. 1A. Leaders of the Fiefdom will be granted the rank of "Duke" Within the Central Goverment system. 2. There must be some imput of bonus for Alras from the aforementioned Fiefdom. (I.E. Supply bread/minerals/protection/weapons/military. There will be a quota to be filled for any materials pledged!) 2a. Failure to supply a bonus to the nation will result in punishment or removal from the nation depending on the disposition of the council and High King. 2b. A Fee will be required of all Feifdoms, the fee form will be decided by the council, it may be wool/sugarcane/money/ore/stone/etc. 3. That should war be declared your support will lie unwavering in the favor of Alras and Alras City, and all of your troops will be put under the direct command of the High Constable, who will use them at his pleasure. In return you will gain the following: 1. The Support of Alras in a military engagement as long as it is a defensive engagement. 1A. Should you ever attempt to host a unprovoked offensive attack against any faction and group without first word from The council and High King, your Fiefdom status will be revoked and your people be removed from any relationships they had with the nation of Alras. 2. Materials from the stores of Alras at the discretion of the High King, Council, And/Or City managers. 3. The ability to requisition materials to be obtained through the harvest Duke/Duchess if in need. Payment may be required if the said materials are of a low Quantity And/Or High Rarity 4. representation in the Alrasian Government system. These are the terms and agreements of the Alrasian Fiefdoms, and by applying to become one, you agree to all the aforementioned

So, as the name of this topic states, This is the Alrasian Texturepack topic! In here, I will post a few different texture packs that Alras will be using to build with! Now, this does NOT mean were FORCING this on anyone, no, your free to use whatever you want, but, to get your full enjoyment out of our Victorian-Modeled City, you might want to invest into the texturepacks! Also, This does however mean that should you have critism for the structure design of the city, you should be using one or the other before giving it, as we will be building as the designs are given upon these texturepacks. Don't worry! We've gotcha! I will be putting different bit packs in here to make sure everyone gets one, and your not killing your computer with epic detail tex packs when it cant handle it ;P.   9. Uncalled for, this is not a flaming thread. If you have a complaint with a council member then take it up with the High King, Viceroy, or High Magistrate. A Council member will never be replaced unless he is no longer capable of doing his job properly.

  11. How does this make you lose faith in ascended? Your family was divided, and somehow that has made you turn your back on your fellows? Your family convinced you, an ascended, to take sides in a war effort, directly against the will of Aerial and her servants? For shame Hiebe, for shame. Your light has darkened deeply, and I'm afraid Aerial may not look upon you the same way again...
  12. You miss understand, soldier ranks are based off of skills. officer ranks are based off of work done. Soldiers are paid for their skill, they do not have power or sway within the military at all. rank just meens better bonuses for being in the military.

  14. *As you walk into the city, you notice a wall you have not see before by the gates, and wonder, What have those Alrasian Council members done now? You step up to the wall and notice, upon the top, there is wording in calligraphy with deep, wide, blue letters that state: The Great Alrasian Reform* By Decree of High King Syrio Forel, Alrasian Overseer Hiason Klip, And The High Alrasian Council, Alrasian Military and Laws are under reformation. Military Reforms: Removal of Shifts. Destruction of Guard uniforms. Removal of a Guard and addition of a military. Reformated structure. The new structure will be as follows: High Constable Vice Constable Constable , Constable These are the highest ranking members of the military, below them are four battalions each sanctioned to preform different tasks. A - Meens that they are paired, and go hand in hand. (I - I, meens that there are two ranks of I) Offensive, 1st Knight Harbinger - Harbinger Defensive, 2nd Knight Stalwart - Stalwart Construct, 3rd Knight Mason - Mason Homefront, 4th Knight Vigil - Vigil These are the Battalion officers. Officers of all rank are hand picked and cannot be advanced to. The soldiers will be branched off into a battalion by officers, and will advance through rank and pay by skill with axes, bows, or swords. These are the Soldier rankings: Novice - 20-39 Axemastery, Swordsmanship, or Archery Soldier - 40-59 Axemastery, Swordsmanship, or Archery(40 is all that is needed) Veteran - 60-79 Axemastery or Swordsmanship Elite - 80-99 Axemastery or Swordsmanship Master - 100 Axemastery and 50 Lumberjacking, or Swordsmanship. Masters are divided up into groups of 5 based off of their profession with weapons, and preform all tasks given as a group. Order of value with Masters is as such: Axemasters > Swordsmasters > Bowmasters. Secondary note: All Soldier rankings are soldier rankings. They cannot give orders to other soldiers and are the force of the military. Law Reformation: Alras is a neutral Nation in all affairs, we will NEVER Host an offensive attack unless provoked. We have our military to protect us in times of need, as recent events have shown. Stated Twice for Clarity. Laws are as follows: 1. Stealing is illegal. We promote trade, and this is harmful. Results in a fine. 2. The Grand Merchant has the right to Veto any object from being sold within the nation of Alras. Shops that are not changed and updated will be closed. People not complying will have their shop closed. Should they reopen the shop with this item, they will have ticks for every time they reopen. 3. Impersonation is a high crime of Alras, this includes: Dressing like an official, Acting like an official, Sitting upon the rightful place of an official, and Claiming to be an official. Masking your identity falls under this. One tick and a fine is punishment for this. 4. Murder is strictly prohibited in any case, and will result in banishment. 5. Assault is strictly prohibited in most cases, and will result in a fine and one tick. Two if fine is not paid. 6.Trespassing on property of the Government will result in a fine according to the severity of the said act. 7. Extortion of any person(s) will result in a hard cracking down, and in most cases, banishment, other cases, a fine. 8. Kidnapping is a serious offense, and depending on the rank of the person who this act is committed upon can either face banishment or execution. 9. Vandalism is a lower act of crime. Perpetrators of this act will be forced to repair all damages and then fined accordingly. 10. Public acts of anarchy will be handled swiftly, and the heads of this will be banished from the nation. 11. Returning from a banishment will result in immediate execution. 12. Not paying a fine will result in one tick being added to your record. 13. Three ticks on a record will result in banishment. 14. Assaulting a citizen will result in a fine. 15. Assaulting military officers results in a master force being dispatched. 16. Assaulting a Council member or higher results Master force dispatched. 17. Alras is a neutral nation. We will never Attack a nation unless provoked. More changes may be added in the future, and this is mostly for clarity! So do continue on with your daily life, and keep in mind the solidified laws!
  15. On that note Hiebe, I ment to tell you this. The Seeress is not in her right mind, and told you that due to what she saw... Selina has visions of the future, and watches in her visions as the world ends and all she loves burns in the wake of darkness. She tries her hardest to stop this from happening, but more and more she sees she cannot stop this, and she is slowly driven insane by more and more pressing images of the world ending, so she continues to work harder and harder to stop it. She might have seen your clan as a blockage to the salvation of the world, and asked herself, These people are blind! Will they not listen? They shall doom this world! It would be better if they died, and in turn, saved us, than drag us down with them? And with that logic, as wrong as it should have been for an ascended to threaten someone, she reasoned to herself that it would be better to kill the ironguts than to have the world perish due to what she saw was ignorance.

He has not heard anything of corruption, and if he was told of this, he would stare at the person stating it and say "Is that all? It's called profit. Alras is founded on the goal of seeking profit. This is nothing." We did not want war on Kal'Urguan, we put a bounty on Kjell aswell due to the fact he destroyed our nation property and robbed a council member. We wished for him to be brought to justice with his crazed rampaging.))
  20. We never stormed your castle. From what I have heard, it was a privately owned and managed group that took advantage of your absence to take over your city. Alras had no part in that.

  22. *Royal Engineer Kalen Forseth steps upon the top of the gates of Alras and addresses the citizens of Alras with a calm level face that shows no emotion. The entire speech is oddly calm considering the topic, and the people slightly wonder about Kalen.* "Citizens of Alras, I speak to you now on the Topic of the Alrasian-Dwarven war which recently occurred a fortnight or so ago. This all began with a event in the Cathedral of Alras involving Urir Ireheart, Arch Druid Delfyr, and Alrasian Minister of Games, Elessar Silverblade. Urir Ireheart and Delfyr were engaged in a argument that erupted into fighting between the two. Elessar ordered the two to desist, and take it elsewhere, as Elessar was planning a Dancing Competition on the cathedral. When both Delfyr and Urir ignored him, he pushed both to make them pause in their combat for a little bit and listen. Urir, Being a Ireheart, took this as a duel. He then proceeded to attack and kill Elessar, a council member, in cold blood. There was no possibilty that Elessar would have know this before hand. Urir then, from reports, killed 2, possibly 3 guards, and four citizens. Several weeks later, we discovered Urir in Alras, and asked him to remove his armor. He did so, and we realized it was him. Punishment for killing a Council member is death, so we asked him to follow us. As we were talking, a goblin ran up, and urinated upon Urir, the latter flying into a rage, and chasing the goblin in between Brayden Roze's manor, and Kara'Kungor. Urir killed the goblin, and we promptly followed. We attempted to arrest Urir Ireheart, who then flew into a rage once more, and killed Elessar for a second time. A fight broke out between him and an elf named Airion, and during the middle of this, a Ascended named Ellser Galleon was trying to escape the conflict, and was slaughtered by Urir's crazed axe-wielding. A citizen, trying to be helpful, attempted to restrain Urir, but was killed as well. After this Urir turns to me, and states "Your one of them to, I'll have your head!" I fled, as I am to weak to lift a blade, axe, or bow, better suited for my studies in redstone and structure design. Urir returned to Kal'urguan. In total, The crimes of Urir in Alras added up to: Killing a council member twice. Punishment: Death Killing 2-3 guards. Punishment: Incarceration, with fine. Killing 5 citizens. Punishment: Incarceration, with fine. Threatening a council member with death. Punishment: Long Incarceration, with heavy fine. Resisting Arrest. Punishment: Heavy Fine. All punishments were and are only subject to Alrasian Land. All this were crimes against Alras, but the crime that brought the Ascended involvement and siding with Alras in this war was the death of one of their own. Should Ellser Galleon not have died, they would have been neutral throughout the fight. Earlier, Kjell Ireheart had also committed crimes in Alras, stealing from High Constable Wyvernos' house and damaging Alrasian Private property. I myself proceeded to take a trip to Kal'Urguan with Minister of Games Elessar to tell Urir about this in good faith, that if he came to Alras again, he would be attacked by the guards with intent to kill. Knowing Urir's strength, I would also tell him that they would attack in numbers well armed and prepared. As we were preparing to leave for Kal'Urguan, High Queen and Preceptor Shoi asked to accompany us. Knowing that Urir was dangerous, and may attempt to attack us while in Kal'Urguan, I asked some guards to accompany us, and to not stop until we spoke to Thorik, as every moment was dangerous, due to the threat he had made. We came unto the castle, and left our guards outside, and began to speak with Thorik. I stated what happened to him, and let him do as he pleased with the dwarves under his command. Thorik asked us if we wanted to state a grudge, but the High Queen said no, we did not. We merely came to inform. We leave after a while and return to Alras. High King Syrio Forel heard of these events, and decided that Urir and Kjell Ireheart should not go unpunished for their crimes against Alras, and dips into his pockets to offer a 100,000 minas bounty on both of their heads. Urir and Kjell proceeded to come to Alras, and attempted to take the life of our High King. The guards retaliate and push the Irehearts out of Alras to King's road, and then the Braveaxes come and begin to fight the guards. This continues to devolve, and eventually both sides break away, and return to their respective nations. A while later Grand King Thorik arrives and informs us the Dwarves are declaring war upon us, and will be there soon to destroy us. We prepare the defenses, and the battle comes. The war escalates until a few important figures escape from the castle, and flee Alras. Alras was retaken with much fighting, and here we are today.”
