  1. From my understanding they got the sub-forum not because they are snow elves, but because they have their own nation, same reason High Elves got a sub forum. They are their own separate entity, and as such, can have separate forum sections.

On the other hand, from my understanding, neither Wood Elves nor Dark Elves have their own nations, they are I believe vassals to other nations.

Then one questions the existence of the Adunian subforum, who are vassals to Oren. Clearly that is not the sole determining factor at work here.

  2. The Lore Team has many times discovered that players, when seeking approval for a piece of lore, shall 'shop' lore masters. A player shall present the lore to one LM, and if it is denied then send it to another LM in hopes of a different result.

We are more than aware of when people attempt this. Due to the numeracy and persistence of people attempting this, we have resolved to clarify that no single lore master can give approval for a piece of lore independently. Only a discussion and vote amongst the members of the LT shall affirm approval. That is to say: all instances of the phrase "Lore Master Approval" in this thread should read "Lore Team Approval". For example, if you do not know if your lore violates the mechanical standard, you should contact the entire lore team rather than a single lore master.

If, by chance, you are a player which has shopped lore masters before and somehow gotten away with it, you are advised to seek approval from the Lore Team as a whole. This is not so much a matter of doing the right thing as it is doing the smart thing. Depending on when you were successful, it is likely that the lore master you squeezed approval from is no longer part of the team and so there is no one to vouch for you. Or, if the lore master in question is still part of the team, it is possible that he may not remember having accepted it, since it was never put down in writing.

If you think there is only one person on the lore team who can vouch that they accepted your lore, you are vulnerable to both of those scenarios above.

Viceroy Ptah Remneal of the Kingdom of Alras was walking through the streets of Alras, passing through the busy populace. He surrounded himself with his own personal illusions, held into his perceptions by his power as a Cognat. He did not see the buildings, but instead it pleased him to see a torrentous coast with jagged rocks and frothing waves. Ptah brought out a stone cube, an ordinary object that he used as a focusing apparatus to manipulate his perceptual world with.

In his internal memory, he opened the spells of the cube and set it to record his thoughts and write them down on illusory paper. So immersed in his thoughts, the Viceroy failed to notice nor to be able to see the upcoming staircase in the real world, and so he fell down it.

In a world with monsters, magic and strife, you don't hear a lot about people dying from falling down stairs. However, the laws of chance demand such a thing, and so Ptah Remneal died a rather unheroic and unspectatular death as his neck broke and his ragdoll body fell down the rest of the stairs and became limp. The stone cube shattered from the fall.

He did not reappear for the Monks to tend to. The will of Ptah Remneal is lost, for that was contained in illusory text within his own mind. Thus was shown the superiority of analog versus digital information. Most of the citizens of Alras didn't feel much for the death of their Viceroy, for he was a rather rarely seen man.

The moral of this story: don't Spell while you Stroll.

William Gage strode through the streets of Alras, leaving behind a thick trail of smoke as his cigar burned. William, in his early thirties, wasn't feeling any younger after spending the greater part of his life as an explorer and cartographer. Magic helped at times, but William still felt he was missing a greater purpose. He had heard news of a recent death amongst the Royal Council, and that positions within it were changing.

One should always seize the day, no?

((I'm killing off the character I've had since Aegis since I got bored with him. Time to start something new.))

  4. No, Elemental spirit. Trust me. Too many immortal spirit cults.

But don't you think it would make more sense? One of them is specifically in charge of death when it comes to orcs, and the other is a generic elemental spirit of death. Also, in the revelation you make Tagnir seem... weak? Why would orcs worship a weak spirit?

  5. I'd advise that you implement OOC restrictions on the formations of cults when you feel you have enough. They seem to hinge on some revelation, so the best way for this restriction to take place is for the Shamans to simply declare no revelations shall be given, which they have the OOC authority to do as the controllers of orcish spirit lore.

Also, for any interested in leading a third cult, I have an idea which I do not have the time to run myself - send me a PM.

  6. Loving Shaman organisation. Feels like the beginning of something great.

It recalls to mind when the Druids were nothing more than a bunch of hippies in a nice grove. Then, all of a sudden they grew incredibly huge, sustaining a large population throughout all of the successive maps, even so much as to several times split into different circles.

Perhaps this is the beginning of the Great Krugaissance?

    BRONZE BECKONS, MALI'AME

Our kind is poised to begin a long and arduous course into an era of stability and progress: residence near the Mali'aheral city of Tahn'siol has been negotiated. All that remains now is for the Second Concordat to be signed and for us to begin our emigration. But ours is a scattered and disjointed people, seeking sanctuary in foreign nations or simply secluding themselves from their own kind, resigning themselves to the wilderness.

Many believe it hopeless to unite the Mali'ame once more. Surely it would lead to be same thrur'sae, the same Turmoil as was seen in Malinor's collapse? Not so. The incompetence ands cruelty of a few caused all of Malinor to suffer and eventually dissipate. Almost none within Malinor understood the true nature and peril of Elven immortality. The consistent and unending ebb and flow of the years has lead many Mali into depression, madness, and depravity. Every day we are confronted with the demons of the mind and of the emotion: fear, wrath, greed, apathy, lust. Freedom of thought is one thing: Unrestrained freedom is another.

But the Bronze Law, Elberun'tir, gives our people the means through which we may avoid the diseases of the mind and the dismal condition of Malinor. Restraint shall counter Turmoil, Restraint shall make one the master of their own mind and body without the turbulent influences of destructive fervor. Scattered Mali'ame: we ask you to sail against the tide of years and make for Tahn'siol. We ask you to become tutored in the intricacies of the Bronze Law and learn the supremacy of your own faculties and form.

Mali'ame, we ask you to become bronze. We ask you to become Mali'ame ito Elberun'tir.

If you shall answer us, leave your name upon the end of this flier, and we shall arrange to meet with you outside the walls of Tahn'siol ((if you also provide your skype name, you can be added to the skype group after the meeting takes place)).

((I and the rest of the participants of this new Wood Elven culture have been working in-game to set this off. However, we also would like to extend to non-elven players the opportunity to create a new elven character of this culture. For that reason, this thread has been made to garner interest in the concept for those who are unlikely to hear of it in-game. What is it in a nutshell? Think Star-Trek Vulcans, Greek and Hellenic cultures, and the more traditional Wood Elves - all woven together to create something very unlike anything which has been seen before in elven roleplay. It is talked about further in this thread. Further inspiration from what exactly it entails can be found in this video. If you are interested, yet are hesitant and believe that there is no point in getting started until 4.0, I would ask you to reconsider. Why not get started now?))
