They're wealthy people that the kings trusts enough to give them a chunk of land, in return for taxes, war support, etc. So it's really up to the King. Well, you have to give them some slack. I mean, we're complete strangers that just took over everything they know... give it some time, and try to be friendly. EDIT: Even if Alva didn't want to be king, it would be Striker. If striker didn't want it, it would be me, if I didn't want it, I'd choose a Bishop. So possibly, then, you might be the King.
