  1. Personally based only off of what you said it would sound even more like whoever rushed his training is at fault.  In what world do you blame somebody who was rushed through a training and not the trainer?  Now I don't know how much merit what you say holds or if there are GMs/Admins that made the decision to push him through quickly but at the very least what seems the most fair and logical thing to do would be to put the guy through a trial period once more to ensure that he's understanding.

How was it? I was genuinely curious as he said he would be taking full responsibility and wanted to know what his punishment would be, if any.
Tahmas even responded to the comment, and many other GMs and LMs have viewed this post and presumably seen nothing wrong with what I wrote.

From your post in imattyz thread:

You are clearly biased towards Tahmas' side, and should not be removing posts just because you disagree with them.

I am not going to continue to debate this with you.  If you have feedback to direct you can direct it without saying "how are we going to punish this person for being incompetent".

I have no involvement in this situation and my only feedback has been that he shouldn't be removed for making a mistake.  I've never once said that he shouldn't be punished in fact I think I said this needs to at least go on his record.  If a punishment is devised that's fair.  I don't think removal from the team is fair. Now kindly stop accusing me of bias.  Direct your feedback properly and your post won't be removed.

It's certainly not a joke. It was a mistake but like a regular player there needs to be actions taken. Nothing personal, simply fairness in all it's glory. If a player(non staff) where to do a thing equal in severity that affected a large group of players then that'd be a ban most likely.

Where do you pull your precedent from?  How exactly would a player accidentally do anything similar?  You can't make claims like this that don't have any basis in fact.  It would be different if it was done on purpose or multiple times, but it was an accident.

I don't understand where the daggers of unforgiving revenge are coming from.  People make mistakes.  Let his record reflect the infraction and move on.

  4. Greetings, Lord of the Craft!

No, this isn't an April Fool's joke!  I just wanted to make a quick post announcing that we will be holding the next Creative Cafe on 4/23/16!  The last one was a banging success, so I expect to see a lot you showing up to do some performances!  We'll be hoping to make improvements over last time, as well as have a feedback process implemented to help improve future Creative Cafes.

I'll see you on April 23, 2016 in the Creative Cafe Channel on Teamspeak!

  5. The post doesn't feel like you're stating your opinion on the old LT.  It sounds directly accusatory and that is where I am basing my responses on. And on that note I continue to stand by what I said.  I would recommend making some changes to your post or adding a disclaimer at the bottom because at first glance it seems like pointing at the current LT when we can't attribute any of it at the present.

  6. Not that you didn't make some interesting points, if you're criticizing an old lore team why bother at all?  Lulu definitely brings excellent points up about how this isn't necessary under the current team. It's clear that there are active attempts to make changes to these teams and operations that are underway even as we speak.  Let's give it a chance to succeed before we condemn it.

And for the love of god you and lulu need to get some pms going before I make you both hold hands

  7. In regards to Druidism, we've quite recently held votes in regards to how we want to do growth and it was decided that it would for the most part remain the same save for a few edits.  Now obviously the Druids aren't going to let outside members decide the magic aspects.  But we're as open to revision as most any archetype it's just not something we are going to sit down and do week to week if we just happen to get 15 new members next month who don't like the way things are done.

I have many conflicting emotions and feelings as to how Druidism should be handled.  I'll say bluntly that it was originally a self taught magic.  It's a lot of meditating and practicing.  And those members who stick it out are rewarded in the end.  To respond to Artimec's post, I disagree completely.  I understand your points but we shouldn't make it easier for you to attain mastery of it.  Each one of those masters that exists put in the work and earned it and so should you.  Members who have tried to abuse the system by getting attuned and afking and coming back later to a strong character are not tolerated.  I would however be open to perhaps making it easier to become proficient in the art.

Also the fact that we have to cope with is time based vs effort based.  Time has to be involved, no doubt about it.  But it is logical to consider an effort or initiative based training.  What if somebody is just better with the magic?  What if they put in more hours studying? What if they learn more quicker? Etc.  But the problem there is that most if not all players approach this.  We have too many people trying to do so and thus it stops being special and becomes cliche.  This is why it is not done.

Now a revision of Druid magic has been recently proposed to put it to a three tiered system, wherein new druids are tier 1, most all other druids are tier 2 and master levels are tier 3.  This might satisfy some of the above critique, we're currently waiting on the person who brought forth the idea to document it formally so it can be submitted.

Now if you don't know how to RP the magic at certain levels that's 100% on you.  The guides give pretty good indication of what you can/can't do per tier.

I had somebody recently tell me they thought the Druid lore was terrible, it kindof shook me a little bit.  I personally accept any and all input regarding it.  There are a few things that will most likely never happen, (ie becoming un guild locked), but I am not offended by critique regarding it.

  8. I've known Lulu for a long time. Trust me on this she is anything but a staff favorite xD

I'm removed from the situation between you and Leo.  I fully support Leo's efforts to make aspectism canon lore as it has been done legitimately ic and the LT shouldn't deny something that has been established through cultural shifts ic.

Lulu has created lore for this server for a very very long time and is one of the most enjoyable people to RP with.  I can't believe you weren't already on the LT.  Huh.

  9. Deep within the wretched cavern wherein lies the Revenant abominations, the Song Druid gathered with his companions.  He in one hand carried his staff, Aren'iril, and within the other he wielded the sword gifted to him by the Uruk Alibaba.  Problem Solver.  Certainly they found themselves in need of resolution, for before them the two Revenants had battled and one came out victorious.  The twisted creature, rotting flesh displaying oddly jutting bones at random angles, jeering towards the Elf with sword outstretched, albeit several feet away.

As it slowly begins to advance towards him he feigned surprise, pointing behind it, "Oh look, you didn't kill him!  It's back up!"  This clearly didn't phase the creature. The jovial elf threw his head back in barking laughter, momentarily stowing his sword to toss a Blessed Lorraine Cross at the beast (to no effect) and blowing a raspberry at him.  He reached for his sword once more, and his former pupil Brolll, Druid of the Sky approached from behind, whispering, "Oh, will that kill it?"  Perhaps he was referring to the cross, or the raspberry, we would never know, for in that moment the beast dashed forward with a crippling swing at Broll.  It was with such startling speed and accuracy that the Elder Elf barely had time to react.  In a twirl the Druid stepped between the two, catching the full brunt of the blow, being rend from collarbone to groin.  At that precise moment however he summoned his strength, his eyes flashing a fantastic green and white light, and his staff began to branch apart in several hundred spikes, each one impaling the angry beast before him.  This strike still did not end the creature, but it immobilized it.  The Druid fell back on the stone, his sword falling from his hand, but his staff remaining tightly clasped in his grip.  The Tortoise Druid Muildir lunged forward to stab the being, and it lifted its sword to retaliate, however the Sky Druid bent down and with a shaky nod picked up his master's sword.  Together the Tortoise and Sky Druids slayed the creature, hacking and slashing away.

The Wolf Druid, who had just dispatched the other being, bounded out of his bear form to stand before him.  Somehow, remarkably, the Elf was still alive.  The din was unbearable in the cave, and the Druid locked eyes with Muildir.  "You promised.  Do not forget this."  The Tortoise Druid gave a steely nod, "I will not.  I will not Song Druid."

Nearby the Sky Druid was gibbering to anyone who would listen to save the other Druid, and the Ouity's words cut through the chatter like a searing knife.  "You are beyond repair, Song."

"Yes," came the simple reply from Arik.

"But are you really?" Spoke Ouity, a wry grin twisting about his face, gloatingly almost gleefully.

"I have made....arrangements." Spoke the Elf with difficulty.

"We shall see."  Came his mischievous response.

The Druid of Song looked down at his left hand, letting out a pained moan.  A mighty amount of energy was pouring into him, sustaining his broken body, but it was akin to filling a jug with water that had a giant hole in its side.  "Aren'iril....you will expend your energy.  Please."  He gasps, the reply coming back in his own mind, none in the room heard.  "No!  I will tether you to this world, I will not let you do this to yourself!"

Coughing, he smiles. "Aren'iril...knows.  Heh."  He winces again, and jerks his head.  The Wolf Druid draws his sword.  "Shall I ease the suffering?"

Violently the staff in Arik's hand shot out a tendril of wood to impale Ouity's hand.  Swearing he sheathed his sword and the wood retracted.

    "Aren'iril....stop."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  i WILL NOT!"  Came the thunderous reply of the living staff.

Arik locked eyes with Ouity, and said, "Wolf, please, stop her.  She will take herself with me."

For a moment Ouity didn't move, his grin widening slightly, and Arik bellowed, gasping throatily, "PLEASE."

Swiftly Ouity kicked the staff and it skidded from Arik's grip.  The Druid of song let out a final breath and fell back to the floor, dead.

The staff's reaction was beyond violent, explosive.  Thousands of branches came from it to envelope Arik.  After a moment, they retracted and the staff lay quite still, defeated.  The Druid was gone.

Ouity leaned forward and began his last rites, and the Tortoise Druid closed the eyes of the Song Druid, who's gaze had last been at Ouity, whose words were too quiet for any to hear, especially the long departed Druid.

    Spoiler

"Death is too good for you, SonofNone. As you damned me, I shall damn you. Rot here with me."

    Some time later in Felsen.

The Tortoise Druid Muildir walked away from a tree house that had a sign upon it saying "The Legal Property of the Song Druid", and it rose in great noxious flames, which oddly did not spread to any neighboring stalls.  When the burning ceased, the tree crumbled.  Any Druid who approached it felt it utterly devoid of life.

  10. A content creator does have the right to be consulted their lore is altered, this is fact and is indisputable.  You are using this as some crux of mine when I am simply making use of a system that is in place and has been explained to me by loremasters in the past.

For the record I never once said that the magic should act as I see fit so I would appreciate you not making such assumptions.  I will not continue to argue the same points over and over again, so I will simply state the facts as they are:

    1. If you write the lore changes have to at least go through you.  Not just me, any collection of lore out there this is how LotC operates.  Not my rule.

2.All changes that have ever been made to the Druid lore/magic have been made by vote and all of the leaders have had input.

3.I do not control all of the lore  To say this is simply untrue.

And out of respect to Leo I will not argue the unattunement situation with you over the forums.  I would like you to as well.  It has been put behind us.  But suffice it to say that your depiction of me as V in that gif is ludicrous.  There are a vast majority of differing opinions in the Druids, and I have personally seen some of my own endeavors fall short because others thought another way was better.  I don't have singular control over anything.  And I'm sick of continuing to say so.

Finally after everything you know of me if you think that I am honestly the type of person to take a position and use it to undo/retry something that a previous administration overturned,  you have an incredibly bad view of me and I guess there is nothing I can say further to dissuade your opinion, it's clear that you're too far gone.

This isn't anything personally against you, as I do like you Jamie, but I generally take lore business regarding Druidism pretty serious, as we can all remember a few certain previous Druid LMs that annihilated the reputation of the magic :P.

The reputation of the magic?  90% of the lore was written by me.

I would give an upvote to this under normal circumstances, but the incident regarding Art / Leowarrior14 and the 'railgun' swayed my vote to a firm no.
    Song Druid admitted to not following the written lore on Druidism when the incident happened;
"[15/02/2016 6:16:01 PM] Jamie Elakrah: It doesn't matter what the guide says.."
Instead, he tried to force unattunement on a player involuntarily, using this unwritten 'long-range unattunement' thing; dubbed the railgun. Fortunately, it was retconned.

My biggest factor when seeking to upvote or downvote an application is whether or not this player would take their role as an opportunity to provide a more fun and positive experience for others. In this case, I'm conflicted.
So, with that, I have to give a -1, sorry Jamie.

To begin with and this is a subject that irritates me to no end, because you take my words out of context to suit your own argument against me:  The unattunement was not a singular decision made by myself and it was a group decision which was brought up to both the MAT and the LT and was approved before moving forward.  I accept that I was a point person in this as I usually am in situations regarding the Druids, however as Leo said we have put this issue behind us and there were several things at play here.  To provide context to what I actually said, I said it didnt' matter what the guide says because it had been approved beforehand and the guide had simply neglected to be altered/revised.  In the scheme of the situation obviously it was re-voted upon and overturned which I have accepted and have not pursued further however at the time it was and still is a valid point to have made.

    Edit:
After going through another few applications, I stumbled upon something I wished to address briefly.

This is the attitude most are talking about, and something that I, personally, really don't want to see in an LM. While you may of possibly created the lore, this doesn't entitle you to own it and, per-say, 'run it'. The lore itself should belong to those that RP it; it being something that they are trying to find entertainment from. There shouldn't ever be an 'owner' of a lore piece, as it belongs to the community it was created for. No one can claim ownership of any lore piece.
So let me end this small edit with a rhetorical question. Are you trying to achieve this position to better the community, provide more fun for the players, and assist with the magic? Or are you trying to get this position in hopes to control it.

With any lore out there the creator has the right to be notified of revisions and be involved in that process.  I don't understand why you find this to be some negative attitude on my part.  More infuriatingly this particular quote (in which you once again post my words out of context, thank you by the way), was directly a joke aimed at Leo in spite of myself because of our past.

To answer your question, while rhetorical it is aimed at me and I will answer it.  I want to provide more fun with the players and assist with the magic.  As far as my "control" goes the Lore team does have final say in these things however there are leaders in the Druids who keep and maintain the lore.  I am one of them.  Others include Callax and Ouity, and the current Inner Circle.  Elders/Content Creators who are able to oversee the well being of the lore/magic rather than make concessions to those who have no right to change the magic around (ie a non druid or new druid who hasn't earned the right).  This is no different than any magic or lore out there.  I don't understand why you paint me as some villain who tries to control everything.  No changes have been made to Druidism without the consent of the ooc leadership, nor the lore itself has changed.  Any changes to the cultural aspects are decided IC in moots.   I just don't get it.

    Ents

The Ents are mysterious creatures that are found within the forests of Asulon.  Little is known about them, but they are often found near sacred groves or ancient trees, keeping them protected and free of chaos.  But the tale of the first Ent is an interesting one.

It is said that ancient Druidic magic runs deep within a certain tree that was older than time itself.  The tree, far wiser than the entire forest, yearned to protect his kin.  Therefore, legend says that when the stars aligned in the night sky, an acorn of gold was produced by the tree, and sprouted at the foot of its gargantuan trunk.

Through the course of many moons, this seed grew and grew, until becoming a tree half as tall as the tree in which it spawned.  However, this tree was different...its roots did not hold in the ground, and so it walked.  It roamed the forest, searching for its purpose, and under the gentle guidance of the Eldertree, found human lumberjacks attempting to fell an ancient oak.  Emitting a sound like nails on glass, the great being assumed its role as guardian of the forest, and tore through the men with unforgiving vengeance.  And such is the story of the first Ent.

    ~A Druidic Text

Ents are massive tree-beings that protect the forests.  They make their presence known in times of great peril, or when they feel their charges are in the utmost danger, or threatened.  There have been several sightings of Ents in world history, though some of the more recent ones were simply ancient husks with barely any cognition left in their elder minds.  Take for instance, the great Serenity the Wise, who looked over Elandriel with her companion, the mysterious Spider ent.  These beings were revered by the Druids as being the most sacred of guardians, and their actions regarded as will of the Druidic “Aspects”, or ancient Spirits, incarnations of Nature.

More recent even, might be Treebeard, or Riel’a, the ent seemingly a charge of the Druids.  The Ents rarely congregated, as they had a natural instinct to protect their own areas, but on rare occasions some might cross paths.

    Apperance

Ents are generally very tall beings, made of wood and moss, leaves and branches.

    gHt5EFq.jpg

    Oh8AI2i.jpg

They have unique facial features, and two “trunks” for legs.  Ents resemble trees that have stepped out of the ground and became lords of the forest.  They tend to have beady eyes, and no visible ears (though they can hear!)

    Personality and Voice

Ents are diverse, and have interests dependant on the land that they are serving.  And while they seek to protect all natural life, they regard their own territory in highest priority.  But they can display a wide range of emotions and intelligence, if anyone could stand to listen to an entire conversation for long enough!

Ents are wise, and slow to speak.  Realizing the dangers of hastily speaking, they all seem to take the notion of mulling over words too seriously.  A single sentence uttered by an ent can last up to ten minutes.  Depending on their mood, it can be shorter or longer.  Most instances of decision making by ents have taken years before they have made them, which could be perhaps a gaping weakness-they do not believe in hastiness.

Ents, while having differing personality traits, seem to all be quiet creatures naturally, spending time they aren’t roaming the forests pondering and philosophizing, as ancient minds tend to wander to greater questions that lesser beings cannot yet hope to comprehend.  Many times Ents are mistaken for trees in the forest, as they are simply distracted by thought.  Another great weakness of an ent is that grabbing its attention is quite difficult.  Unless the forest cries out in pain, it tends to stand still and entertain its thoughts.  Those in connection to nature have been known to coax two or three out of their ponderings though.

The voice of an ent is deep, gravelly and low.  Very distinguishable from any of the races (although two or three Orcs have made convincing Ent imitators).

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_mGFY5Nbqk

    Language

Ents can commune between one another through the language of the Ents, which is a throaty mumbling that also involves rustling their leaves.  A side point, but relevant nonetheless.

    Strengths

Being so massive that they can tower at fifty feet (and even higher), they have massive brute strength.  A single being attacking an Ent would be utterly doomed.  Ents in Asulon have torn down entire gates, in Anthos they have tossed dwarves like skipping stones and ancient texts even describe an Ent fighting a dragon.

    Weaknesses

Being so large, it is inadvisable to use conventional weaponry against one.  Siege weaponry would tear through them, but that is difficult to come by.  In the old days of the forests, savages would shoot flaming arrows and arrows with fragile bottles of oil attached to set the beings ablaze.  A fiery pitch could easily bring down a creature such as this.  Falling in water weighs the Ent down if it falls horizontally.  Once in Asulon the ent Riel’a had to be towed out of the ocean beneath Normandor’s bridge after being successfully knocked over the side.  The water doesn’t kill the ent, but it incapacitates it as it is unable to push itself up under the weight.

Winter is a terrible foe for an Ent.  Icy lands are devoid of most Ents, only an Ent of pine could ever thrive in such an environment.

When an Ent is injured, it must root itself in the ground to take in nutrients and begin the healing process.  During this time it is totally vulnerable as it is almost a state of hibernation.  Clever humans injured an ent and used their dogs to track it to its hiding place whilst it slept, burning it in the night.

    Creation

Ents are children of Elder Trees, trees that have become so ancient and massive that they are self aware (though do not communicate with those who cannot communicate with them).  The tree produces a special seed which must grow undisturbed for a period of time.  Upon which the Ent arises, and the ent protects the forest surrounding the Elder Tree.  In a way, Ents are an Elder Tree’s way of protecting itself from danger.

  13. It'd be inappropriate for me to apply now :p

Callax I think you would be a better fit for the MAT if I'm being quite honest.  You don't write much lore (which isn't a big deal!), and the lore you did cite wasn't written by you (in fact one was written by me, ahem!), and despite saying you influenced them directly it just (to me) comes off as taking credit for other's work.  Cmack worked incredibly hard on the shapeshifting lore and while we gave suggestions it is his alone and I don't think it should be referenced to bolster your application.

    THAT SAID-

I think you are one of the few I trust to know things lorewise. You also have a good working relationship with just about everybody.

So if it's something you really want to go for then I say +1 and I hope you get it.  But I do think you're best suited for the MAT.  Less need to write the lore and such, y'know?

  14. Leo is hard headed.

    He's a stubborn *******.

    He's a lot like me >.>

Actually despite all our differences Leo has done wonders for pushing new lore through on the server, and creating rich cultures not only by writing lore for it but developing it in RP which in my opinion is one of the greatest accomplishments one can have.

As long as you don't make any Druid lore changes without talking to the creator first *cough*

  15. Grinning, an Elf wanders up, his old green robes trailing in the dirt behind him.  He has a glint of excitement in his eyes, and he beckons anyone who would listen nearby.

"Come!  Yes!  See this now, without magic, without otherworldly aide I will earn this substantial reward."

He bends to the ground and plucks an acorn seed, holding it up for everyone to see.  He grins wider still, and bends back down, stooping to press the seed into the soft earth.  With the flat of his hand he smooths the soil over it until it is totally covered.  Then, beaming, he spreads his arms out and steps back, turning to the crowd in triumph.

"Behold!  This tree will grow, and grow from its line a thousand more, and those in turn a thousand thousand more!  It truly is a beautiful display of life.  The Druids request that the money be delivered in the form of several hundred diamonds, to be placed at the foot of the Aura Druid Beleran's shrine of the Demi Aspect within the Oasis Grove.  This is to honor his insatiable hunger to better the order by lining his own pockets with money."

He bows several times, even attempting to do a somersault once, but fails miserably, landing flat on his face.  Still, he clambers to his feet, cackling wildly.

  16. The Elf scowls at his companion and turns away.  "Perhaps you are right.  There was a time when we both acted as he, ignoring the politics of the Order in favor of making drastic moves for the Aspects."

He chews his bottom lip silently for several seconds, all that can be heard is the drip drop of water from stalactites hanging from the roof of the cavern.  "I find it amusing that he submits his cull to Cerridwen and Cernunnos, when he fulfills the calling of another...."

He chuckles to himself and begins to hobble from the cavern.

  17. Lulu and I have been friends for years.  Honestly she's one of the few people on LotC with that I can be myself around, she's just a great person all around.  Albeit she's also a *****.

Definitely one of the greatest RPers I've ever come across.  She really rubs off good RP on other people.  I adore this player.  I don't think I can put into a single post how much she has done for this server in various ways, and she never asks for thanks despite the many times she's been slapped in the face for all she's done.  If you accept anybody accept Tehlulu.
