I hate being an Oren Guard because half the time people think you are meta-gaming. For instance while I was on gate duty I heard reports of muggings and Black Hand working on the King's Road so I was on look out for suspicious people. A black hand member walks up to the gate seeking entry and I ask them "Name and business" and someone else tells me not to let them in because they are black hand. Of course it says so on their Title but I didn't say they I wasn't letting them in until my character had actually heard someone say they were Black Hand. But of course I get painted as a meta-gamer because EVERYONE thinks EVERYONE is meta gaming. There is not mutual trust between people that MAYBE the other character has seen them and does know them or has heard of them. It happened again today when my character saw lightning strike dozens of times in one location and I investigated and saw numerous people in dark robes directly by where the lightning struck which happened to be Sanjezal which had been attacked. I report that it was 'Suspected undead, black hand, or undead supporters' Because at this point shouldn't all those signs point to Undead? Well we rp into the area and we get called meta-gamers because we see the recognized individuals from the attack on Sanjezal because apparently considering them to be undead after seeing them attack a town with lightning and zombies is meta gaming. It is really irritating and completely ruins my will to play half the time when you have to defend not being a meta-gamer when you aren't meta-gaming. Why does no one trust each other?

I have seen it, it's pretty awe striking. But what use would it be if the undead were already in the city on top of a tower reigning hell on Alstion?

If anything build a castle within Alstion that is the same design as Winterfell. And if you can, then use the resources from Winterfell to do so. Also I have to ask, but is flaming tower roofs part of the anti undead defense? They do love standing on roofs.

I heard Ghasts were being taken down with snowballs ha ha. (Now I am imagining how that would have played out in a real world scenario where the obvious solution is beating someone to death with snow balls.)

Aye that would work in a way. It would be safer than the Oren Guard of Al'Khazar asking Name and business. There would need to be someone to be a bookscribe who writes out the passports which would be probably 3 or 4 pages but they'd need to make around 20. There would have to be multiple copies of the books of people who have been accepted at least 4 or 5. One kept in each of the Gate houses, one at the guard's barracks, one in the possession of the guard captain, one in possession of the lord, the book scribe, and a library. That way if someone loses their passport they can receive a new one. The outer city should be free for everyone to enter, that would be where traders and explorers go, businesses and inexpensive houses could be there as well. The outer ring just requires name and business and that is the more expensive housing district with shops of a higher class can be there (shops that deal with armor and weapons and other things of expense) then the inner city is what would require a passport.

There needs to be rules for the gates now, cities under siege should only allow in people who are of their race or a known friend. No strangers in hoods, or people who refuse to give out their names. Traders from other regions should not be allowed entrance. Times are too risky and cities are falling from within. Also visitors should be asked to remove their helms if they have any so we can be sure they are the honest sort. The island fortress is intelligent. If the walls were to be torn down we could start afresh. Most of the cobbled ground will be fine how it is. If it started as a castle in the dead center, a tall spire of sorts and was surrounded by a wall of sized up dimensions that could be the inner city which can be domed by cobble or smoothstone. The inner city would act as the governmental district and guild district with the prison and guard barracks. Then an even larger sized wall can go around that and it will be the main residential region of the city the walls will have two entrances one to the east towards the undead and another to the south towards Al'Khazar. Each gate house can be equipped with beds and protected chests for guards so we can get new recruits (new players who want to store their possessions but can't afford housing.) Then the outer districts won't need walls or atleast won't need complete walls, as you can see there is a smaller section of the castle that has a wall to the south and a bridge connecting to the main fort. If the wall were to be adjusted so it protected the North, east, and west then the south can be open for docks where one can buy boats or by rides on large boats to Al'Khazar or Laurelin.

Well we don't have Alstion or Snowy Fields anymore, and Winterfell is close to falling because it is completely unmanned. Once Winterfell falls the Kingdom of Oren will be short three settlements so it makes sense that we try and remake some lost ground with the remnants of these towns since these people are more battle hardened then 90% of the Oren Guard.

Winterfell is in need of a new Lord. The king needs to appoint someone to oversee the defense of the keep, but that is unlikely to happen. I will come to the defense of Winterfell, but I am only a Guard Recruit if I come I won't be able to bring anyone. But the gates to Winterfell must be opened.

That island fortress is a perfect start, it is large enough to house the Alstion remnants. It does need improvements, the houses there are poorly built and designed and it is empty. But there is plenty of room for a circle fort within. My proposal would be a central tower and build a cobble dome from that encasing an inner city and access to mines and farms. It would probably be smarter if the town was mostly cobble, stone, stone slabs and such. Houses probably should not be made of wood or anything.

But there is the final punishment being perma-ban which seems rough if you are an in character bandit or harasser. Mining was encouraged to get stone for houses. Never did his village need to mass mine for gems and ores. -Are you a capable builder? Yes, it just doesn't always look grand. A simple farming structure can be made in an instant and will fit it's purpose. But a grand citadel or a beautiful house would take a great deal of time to design. -Can you wield a sword?: Yes, not efficiently but it's not so difficult to swing it and do damage.
