  1. It was surprising to find out the fate of my apprentice. He had been an ambition boy, seeking to learn magic at such a young age, but I did not realize once that he would go so far against all I warned him of. However, it does answer many questions I once had.

Kalameet Izalith was the one whom brought my attention back to him. Spoke of the red mage whom had so severely suffered for the mistakes of his past. However, what struck my memory was talk of a ‘red mage.’ Namely, recalling him, ‘Red.’

The danger in casting beyond your possessed mana. I pondered whether one would simply pass out or if you could will yourself past such a point. You expend yourself to continue the casting of your spell, but not in the same way a Necromancer may with life-force. Upon visiting my young apprentice, I saw he was far from the image of the boy I saw off. He could only be the age of twenty six, maybe. But he appeared sickly and drained of life. Not necessarily old, but he had signs of advanced aging.

He explained to me he realized his mistake, but spent no time focusing on the past. His future was short, so he would simply spend it as lazily and comfortably as he could. But this was not where my interests laid. Just as everything else, he was another experiment, another way to gain information. And truly, he was successful. He finally helped me answer a question I had wondered for so long, and with details too.

What he experienced was akin to burning his very life away as a method to fuel the spell in place of mana, but in a horrid pain. Keeping focus was nearly impossible in the horrid pain. The aura that would normally be unseeable in most cases was burning out wildly, as if he was producing nearly impossible amounts of mana compared to his normal amount. Rather specifically, he couldn’t even stop now.

Almost everything he could focus on burned. Including his own strength. He soon learned that his own health had been severely damaged. A constant need for visits to alchemists or clerics just to sustain his health. Coughing of blood after too much physical exercise and difficulty moving at all when using any form of magic.

His physical health was entirely destroyed for the remainder of his life. As well, he seemed extremely aware of how short his life was. A disturbing aspect, he could seem to feel his life weakening and waning. The best term I can think of for this is...Mana Burn. When using yourself as the fuel for Void based arts.

    --The journal entry is unsigned.--

((Basically, I thought of this idea a while back for my character Castor when I read the part of the Void magics guide posted by Elindor as an interesting way to have a weaker character. As well, it gives more options for people to choose from when casting beyond their capabilities. Also, style of post is absolutely stolen from Moot. I’m sure there isn’t really any more explanation needed.))

    Edit:

    To be more specific,

    The Evaglno Effect

The idea that arcanists can perform, on occasion, 'super mage' feats much like how adrenalin can allow normal beings to perform 'super physical' feats.  Though, according to the Law of Creation, the cost of said feat is detrimental and permanent.

  2. d. Downgrade the Undead

I personally preached the idea of a religion, not a cult. The very concept of Iblees and 'destroy all Descendants, GRR SKELETOR, KILL EVERYBODY' is just a bad antag concept and there was no arguing against that with how The Undead were made. There's literally a DESTRUCTION SECT. It just wasn't even believable and the repeating concept of kill all, kill all, kill all was dumb.

I personally believe in you and Mthdominator as being able to do something with this, Zarsies.

  3. I don't think the spawning thing in part is accurate. Nor is the 'sitting in gray haven' bit. Menarra plays an Archdruid and is fairly active in the Druid community, as well as a few other characters that can be seen around. Perhaps you just haven't been on when Menarra/dago has been on? Because if we're solely looking through the eyes of one, I haven't seen you in-game recently, nor take part in any ET event. I could probably point a finger and say you got your position by being buddies with Heero and a few others, but that wouldn't be nice, would it? :)

That being said, I support Menarra for the admin position, but I haven't seen any lore come from this person (at least, not recently unless they put it under a different account?). So I'm in agreement with the others on being hesitant to suddenly replace Rittsy with Menarra.

At first...I didn't want to get involved in this until I saw the end of this thread. But...

Fact is, Menarra was indeed removed. Things don't happen without evidence, as much as people seem to think that Mogroka was just some abusive, controlling, trouble-maker or whatever. However, I do agree on one point-though, a point though a point you don't exactly have a right to make since you only so recently became involved with them. Be very careful on assumptions like that, even if you were right this time.

I myself have done some events involving the Druids and have certainly seen Menarra's activity and involvement in the Druids. That is undeniable. However...

You seem to lack knowledge of the fact that every ET is chosen through a manager's vote. There's no way that could be the case. Quite literally not possible. Lynx was quickly accepted into the ET for his incredible writing and events, however he just as quickly became busy in real life. However, regardless of that, he's been planning some rather big events and has indeed been involved in the ET.

Writing events for people to do is just as important as being on the server and doing them.

Lynx has truly displayed his worth openly and has done so through a nice handful of events. He earned his position. Many people witnessed this.

I can't say the same for Menarra.

  4. Given his persistence in lying about his involvement in VAT and Undead, the event team would have to make a decision whether they want a compulsive liar in the team.

One moment while I ask a friend to respond to this post.

  5.

    Definitely.

    +1

The other day I recently got to RP with Susi's Hearld of Fear character. I enjoyed it. So far I've enjoyed every RP I've had with Susi even back in Aegis. If anyone deserves being an ET actor its this guy right here. Love ya man and keep the good RP coming.

    i change my mind, +1.

    Thank you all.

To izier specifically, I hope that you quite enjoyed that roleplay and more than that, I hope you felt immersed. In all my actions as Fear, Ive tried my best to actually push for that point-fear itself. I want people to be afraid of the character, but not because he's powerful and can "1v1 mlg pro scrub" them or anything.

I want them to feel afraid because their character is afraid. Gotta add that meaning to RP.

  6. Abandon your RP as an antagonist (Herald) and you will have my support. I don't think we need a GM who may RP more than doing his job as a moderator.

Edit: due to being on my phone and not seeing his title, this has been snipped.

To counter this statement as the one who made the Heralds of War, allow me to correct a belief here.

Heralds are player-characters not bound by the OOC control of The Undead. The same as Shades, Dread Knights, Wraiths, Necromancers, Ghouls, Cleircs, Mages, Druids, Paladins, and any other group, they are not controlled by any higher power. This is his character, not his antagonist.

As for my genuine opinion about this-just like Tentoa, I'm worried you will die. But you wouldn't be a bad GM. So, while I would +1, I don't want you to DIE KAIS!

  7. A little something for everyone's info:

The Heralds of War and events regarding them have mostly been my planning and plotting. Even the concept and lore for the Heralds has all been my work as well as the writing of the event to take Angren. I was actually supposed to be the one to run it, but...I sort of fell asleep so Freema had to take up the reigns. However, this was my event line and it was my writing that was followed. Everything but the Angren event itself, which was still done exactly as I had written it (For the opening events and such, nothing was actually scripted aside from Maric's corruption. It was more like an IC plan of action than a script that The Prophet had essentially told everyone.)

So, yeah. As the Herald of Fear, as the writer of the lore of it, the concept of it, events regarding it, and especially the writer of the Angren event, I hope this work reflects my application for everyone. Ive been hard at work with Mthdominator to improve the image of The Undead and give everyone fun RP involving them.

  8. "Herun..."

Such a cataclysmic event could not be ignored, no matter the distance. In silence, Lucas Black places his hand upon the golden necklace now around his neck. He clutches it tightly, looking in the direction of the sensation. Xath had sworn he would find him fallen by his blade had he returned to being a Shade, no matter the reason, no matter the cause. He had sworn to be his end.

And yet, when Xath came across Lucas in his weakest moment...he saved him.

"It was for a long time now...I thought you were not the man I had met. It was odd that one...driven by bloodlust could meet you, the Strength of Xan and become what I had even considered friends for a time. You saw my true nature at a point, however, and you were horrified. You could not forgive, nor allow, and for the longest time, you had decided me your enemy. And it was soon after that you decided yourself a different name as you had indeed become a different man."

Raising his gaze up to the sky, he would take a moment of silence. Recalling their battles together, their fight with Setherin. Even when he helped draw the Golden Lance upon the mighty Drakkar. Of course, Lucas had never thought himself redeemable. Not ever.

"I did not hold it against you that you drew your blade against me, even after we had fought alongside each other. I had believed myself beyond acceptance to any that knew my crimes. You had every right to try and kill me. Anyone would. My sins had yet to even end...but you, as Herun Antha, saved me. I do not believe the man I met as Xath was the person who chose to stay his blade and seal the Taint within my soul."

Taking in a deep breath, the Half-Elf would lower his gaze to look upon the distance, the source of this sensation. Staring out for a moment, he would turn and walk away, saying...

    "Thank you..."

    ((ilu tsu q_q

everyone always confuses us when we're in the same teamspeak channel. and all those hilarious tps and item gives in the fringe. i mean, hell, I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE GOLDEN LANCE, BUT I WALKED UP AND HANDED IT TO YOU!

Those were good times, man. We fought a lot, though not in a personal way. Our disagreements got really heated, but never once did I hold any hard feelings and I know neither did you. Love ya', man. I'm going to miss the times we had together on here and I wish we could have had more.))

  9. I disagree with both Burkester and Galendar. As well, I find it odd that Burkester would jump to that point considering how heavily Mthdominator has to rely upon him and other ET members for all the events he plans. Rather, the fact that he's constantly working together with ET members should really put quite the shiny button on his resume. Formally joining the team would just make all the work he already does much easier. Simply put, I don't think either of your chosen reasons for opposing are very well-founded or good at all. As for my actual support...

Mthdominator is quite a funny guy whom I do indeed speak to daily on Teamspeak3. So you could easily say I have some bias and as such, consider this my disclaimer on anything you find fishy here. Matt, as I actually know him, is a rather level-headed person who has never acted out of emotions. Ive never, ever actually been disgruntled with him even where we disagree. In-fact, every time Ive seen him disagree with someone, it's the calmest bit of discussion Ive ever seen or experienced. More than that, he constantly plans out events and such.

VERY recently, he and I co-planned a series of events regarding the fall of Lucas Black, the claiming of the Heralds of War, and the conquering of Angren. I can say being the person who sort of 'ran' quite a bit of this, or managed it, he's an absolute pleasure to work with for events and does what is asked of him quite well. His interactions with other players OOCly and his RP in all of this has been paramount to the success of my events, his events, and our work together for the Heralds.

Simply put, he's already doing the ET's job, working with ET, and has done it all with very limited ability to do so regarding the abilities ET do have.

+1. Ive been pushing him to do this for a bit now and I'm very glad to see him posting it.
