  1. To all the privy councilors, high vassals and nominal peerage of the Realm, and to all Orenian subjects.  Blessings upon you and your House.  I submit to you an update to a variety of illegalities and the sentences I will be granting to them.  Let no man claim ignorance as an excuse.  If you fail to read this to your later astonishment when you are prosecuted and struck with the hammer of justice, this is your own consequence.

    -

    Signed and confirmed,

Duke Titus de Sola, Lord Justiciar of Oren

  2. We, the Crown of Oren, are perturbed at recent events in Kaedrin.  A fortress defending Redmark seems to have simply disappeared under the cover of night.

With the loss of such fortifications, the East's defense lay at stake.

With no further word, I proclaim that Lord Arstan of House Bedell is to report to the Felsen Palace at once, in order to explain this giveless deconstruction of Kaedreni defenses.  If Arstan Bedell is to avoid surrendering himself to the Crown, to whom he owes his allegiance, then he is to be considered a fugitive and insubordinate, and a bounty of 2500 minas installed upon his living person, to be sought, captured, and held under house arrest in the Palace til monetary or material compensation be made to the Crown, to be dictated at length in his future trial.

I am also appalled at a recent incident involving a Roland Sparrow and our King.  I am told that Sparrow entered our King's castle wielding the head of Duke Hugues Sarkozic at his flank, demanding from our King payment for the head.  Upon the King's refusal, this Sparrow assaulted him with the head, and then fled with his life.  Shame upon the Sparrows for this barbarity - shame.

A rebel, yes, and a traitor whom I would have seen in chains no less than Sparrow.  But he was a Duke of Oren!  To be butchered in this sordid way at the hands of lowborn, plebeian scum is sickening and intolerable, nor the standard I will set for Orenian justice.  Roland Sparrow is to be captured at the price of 2000 minas to the dispenser of justice, and brought to Felsen for immediate imprisonment, awaiting his future trial.  If convicted, then I shall crucify him upon the highest rock.

    Signed and confirmed,

Duke Titus de Sola, Lord Justiciar of Oren

His Majesty King Guy de Bar

    dSFw0Gh.png

  3.

It is by His Majesty the King Guy de Bar's command that I, de Sola, be instated Lord Justiciar of Oren.  I accept this appointment.

I have sworn to root from the realm all tastes and manners of tavernist degeneracy and decadence leeching upon our race like infestations of maggots.  I have sworn to uphold the laws of Man, of which descend from the old Imperial codex, with a steely conviction and a resilient mind.

I am no catamite, but am I no hypocrite, either.  I swear that I will not allow the bias shown to my party prior to the Duke's War to subside in any future trial, nor the injustice to our former enemies to remain entirely unheeded.  By my own accord, with my instatement as Lord Justiciar, and by God, I voluntarily ask for the punishment of flogging as evidence of my oath.

    Fifty lashes.

Duke Titus de Sola, Lord Justiciar of Oren

  4. House de Sola and the Mustang reaffirms its loyalty to His Majesty the King Guy, and swears to uphold the legitimacy of his reign and his realm always.  God save the Sovereign.

    ((good luck friend

  5. Located nearby after having gone looking for new talent at a small back alley tourney in Felsen, Titus de Sola stakes his claim on behalf of his Imperial Knights.  "Such ancient knowledge should not lay in the hands of wandering monks to be assailed on the highways and sold for ransom," said he, a hand raised.  "Nor can it be trusted in the hands of the other races who ever plot our demise.  This relic of the old Empire should be safeguarded by proper custodians."

The brothers of Saint Thomas have vacated the castle of Dour Watch oer the morn, and by the cover of night embarked on a glorious mission along the Adrian way.  Numbering as of yet in their origins maybe only a hundred good men if such, they bring naught but a few packhorses at their back, to shoulder the greatswords and lances and extra tower shields, and the grain for the road.  Despite their rugged state, the aquilifer sergeant hoists the imperial standard high as they march.

They will travel far to the northeast, to the realm of Kaedrin, in search of imperial relics and heritage, and also with the hope of reestablishing ties with their distant Kaedreni kin.

The ancient mustering cry for brotherhood and loyalty to these Istrians, these Dour Watchmen, these so called "Imperial Knights", has not been forgotten: Ave, true to Kaedrin.

Any whom wish to hark the call of the Imperial memory may join with the Knights as they travel.  If they are lucky, they may catch them outside the gates of Felsen before they embark.

  12. HIERARCHY
    ‘Ave, true to Caesar.’

Declaring their heritage to the ancient Imperial Knights sworn to the Chivay emperors, the Order largely uses the same ranks as they did, having managed to rediscover them in lost tomes.
    -

    Command Officers
    Grandmaster and Commandant ⁞‡
The Grandmaster and Commandant serves as the head of the Imperial Knights in all aspects. As Grandmaster, his duties fall under watching over the political scope of the order and as Commandant (taken from the old ‘Imperial Commandant of Cavalry’), he is obligated to lead his men directly into combat. This position may only be assumed by a truly brilliant strategist.  The Grandmaster and Commandant, shortened often as G.r.C. in letters, recognizes the King of Oren as Caesar.

    Knight Paramount ῼ ‡
In the absence of the Commandant, the Knight Paramount commands any necessary body within the order that is unsupervised. This could vary from the Commandant leading the cavalry whilst the Knight Paramount foresees the infantrymen, to any other possible situation. This title can be seen as the right hand of the Grandmaster in many respects.

    Knight Primus ··
Amongst all the Imperial Knights this man has been chosen as the senior knight, the "grand knight" if you will, and there is only one within the entire Order.  He would have been long dead did he not pack the sheer virtue and will to power necessary to achieve this rank.  He wields valor as his incense and dies irae as his greatsword.

    Decurion ǂ ǂ
A senior officer rank amongst the Imperials, one that traditionally commands their fellow infantrymen in combat and serves to train them when outside the battlefield.  Woe to those who fail to recognize the Decurion’s authority.  The knight has proven himself beyond an able-bodied tactical leader, maybe demi-mythical to the men under him; immortal as he has never fallen from his horse in battle, he grows closer to the legends.  He is rightly confident in his abilities due to his lengthy record of victories.
    -
    Middle Officers

    Knight ῼ
By this point having received grave trials and survived through leagues of fire and steel, he is an all essence of the word, a knight.  In the order in which he’s served so dearly for so long with service to a forgotten Empire, he knows his struggle may be for naught, but he continues on the journey nonetheless.  This is what makes the Orenian man an Imperial Knight.  He is a legitimate knight anointed in the fashion otherwise required by the Orenian Master of Chivalry.

    Ensign ǂ
Now a veteran Imperial militant, this warrior, this son of Oren has been granted new authority over an arsenal of rankers by being appointed a junior officer.  His superiors’ faith in him is now concrete, and his name is a celebrated one throughout the region, his titles many.

    Aquilifer Sergeant  ʘ
He’s unlike the rest now simply that he has chosen to take a position with little further opportunity for advancement - his virtue, by God, is that of the finest Kaedreni swordsmaster.  That grizzly and hawkish Orenian man has been promoted to the rank of Aquilifer Sergeant.  The Aquilifer is the Imperial Knights’ flagbearer, and his post is invaluable because the standard is used as a rallying point in combat.  A heavily defended man in battle, the loss of the Order standard, whether by dropping or by enemy capture, is the single greatest dishonor possible, even worse than treachery in the ranks.
    -
    Foot Legion

    Sergeant-at-Arms ···
Grizzly and hawkish.  The two greatest words to describe he who has risen to become known as Sergeant.  Through fire and blood and steel this man has earned his place as one of the first leaders the heavy infantry follow.

    Man-at-Arms ··
Once, he was a footman.  Now he is a combat veteran and a heavy infantryman armed with the finest steel the Order can produce.  But he’s also young and foolish, qualities that hone themselves with age.  But nothing will change his place as the sword and shield of the coming Empire, and a bringer of destruction to the profligates and barbarian hordes of the outer world. “Hail, o, Infantry, Queen of Battle follow me.”

    Footman ·
He’s taken the first step thus far, proven he’s a man and more importantly an Orenian man by showing his allegiance openly.  He wears the colors of the old Empire proudly and shamelessly, though there is so much work to be done...

    -

    HONORS
A plethora of honorary titles and epithets used by the old Empire have been reinstated by the Imperial Knights, which may be granted to any man of any rank within the Order if proven worthy.

    Titles
Master-at-Arms - the Order’s finest swordsman, and the official duelist.  If an enemy force seeks a duel to avert mass battle then they may challenge this individual to single combat.
Present holder: Guile ‘the Cruel’ de Sola.

Master of the Lance - the greatest jouster within the Order.  A proven cavalryman and a veteran knight.
    Present holder: N/A

Master of War - a title that may be granted to he who has successfully led a large raid or defended against one victoriously, provided it be against a legitimate threat to the Order rather than worthless plebeian rabble.
    Present Holder: N/A

High Varangian - an honorific granted to any Northmen who have done great service to the Order and the cause of the Empire.
    Present holder: N/A

Imperial Tomebearer - recognized as the finest scholar and historian within the Order.  He wields a copy of Imperial Knights’ codex into battle, containing all the fragments of forbidden Imperial knowledge.
    Present holder: N/A

Ultimus Orenorum - ‘the Last of the Orenians’.  Though in this case the Order of the Imperial Knights considers itself and all its members regardless of rank the Last of the Empire, this title goes to a man who has demonstrated severe virtue and good deeds in the service of Man, in the face of profligacy all around him.
    Present holder: N/A

Alpha Mustang - A Mustang being the sigil of the House de Sola, the Grandmaster’s family, this individual is one of the strongest men in the Order and thus all Oren, and he has shown he is worthy of being bonded spiritually to de Sola even if he is not related by blood.  The honorific Alpha Mustang is granted to the greatest gladiator within the ranks, the loyalist and most truthful of warriors, a true Orenian nationalist, and he serves as the champion and household guard of House de Sola.
    Present holder: Jean de Sina

    Honorary Names and Epithets
Acutus - ‘the Quick’, to the fastest rider or simply to a nimble and agile young man.
Auratus - ‘the Golden’, granted to a man possessed of the finest Orenian virtue.
Corvinatus - ‘of the Crows’, an honorific to be granted to any descendants of the Raevir who have proven themselves loyal.
Iratus - ‘the Irate’, he who has been recognized as having a severe temper, a wroth.
Maximus - ‘the Strongest’, he who has been recognized one of the strongest, physically or even psychologically, within the Order.
Merlin - ‘the Magik’, he who has been recognized as the finest wielder of magick.

  13. The Order of the Imperial Knights of Saint Thomas

    -

    WcIRMOn.png

    “For the Empire.”

Decadence, debauchery.  Stagnant squalor.  The hedonistic filth of our current realm, and the traitors within it.  Hoping to serve an Empire, the race of Man, which has no Emperor.  The Imperial Knights of Saint Thomas do not sit for such depravity.

Now belonging to the freshly forged Duchy of Istria carved out of the nigh empty southern heartlands, the Knights have little glorious, colorful history to their name; but, evolved from the chevaliers of a group of outriders known as the Lancers of Dour Watch, a band filled with bastards and mercenaries and assorted scum, churned through a brutal civil war into iron tested human flagbearers, the Knights differ from every Order in service in that they don’t simply hail God, but they seek to re-establish the Orenian Empire of old, to see the petty kingship raised back to its rightful place with the title of imperator, and all the old Imperial civic systems reinstituted.

They do not seek to put one of their own on this throne, likewise, but merely an emperor to swear allegiance to.  This is the Order’s ultimate goal.

The Knights also seek to preserve, and hunt for, the esoteric knowledge of the Imperium, and ensure Imperial traditions and values live on.  Thus are they not strictly a militant order, but a cultural and scholarly one.  Their greed for such knowledge brings the Knights a certain infamy; they demand a monopoly on all imperial artefacts and sources of knowledge, and will openly resent those who stand in their way of this.

What relics of the Imperium they do sink their claws into remain under constant lock and key in the vaults beneath the Knights’ castle.

    ARTEFACTS

The imperial artefacts and relics currently held by the Knights are as follows:

The Armor of Kaer Aard A highly intricate, but now tattered set of leather garments,

believed to have belonged to the official Imperial Marksman of Emperor Peter Chivay.

The Decree of the Wilting Rose A proclamation by the last Imperial Marshal condemning all those who falsely claimed to be veterans of the Order of the White Rose, having received viceroyal

approval by a young Olivier de Savoie, who went onto become Orenian king.

The Crown of Fenn.  Once belonging to the Snow Elven Grand Prince of Fenn, it fell into Imperial hands after Vibius de Sola razed its capital at Lendale.

    BELIEFS

“Never forget: we are a knightly order, from which one cannot withdraw, to which one is recruited by blood, within which one is body and soul.”

The Order believes that Man enters cycles of grand imperialism followed by a natural state of royalist decline, and finally a state of feudal darkness and pure degeneracy, and that its duty is to break the cycle and establish an eternal human imperium to command all four corners of the world forever.  It believes it can break the cycle by disciplining its ordermen to unseen physical standards and adherence to the old imperial law and customs, to set the standard that all men should follow, besides military conquest and the reintroduction of old civic ways.

At the heart of the Order lay a cold, bitter hatred for all the things that they deign slow down the process of the next transition into an imperial era.  Sodomy, they say, prevents the birth of new Orenian sons, and the interbreeding of races, they shout, destroys the Creator’s bloodlines and defuses the human tendency to command.

Disregard to realm hierarchy, and treason, confuses the natural aristocratic order of Oren and thus slows down the transition as well.  The Knights will not hesitate to arrest even their closest allies if they find that an article of such a degenerate act had been committed.

The Order also practices great asceticism, viewing surplus of material wealth as a means to arrogance and decline, and follows a rigid regimen of physical training and diet.  To this end they adopt Saint Thomas as their patron militant saint.

    PRECEPTS AND TRADITION

The Knights, in their almost immoral lust for artefacts, frequently embark on pilgrimages to imperial ruins across the entire world, in order to research them and scour for any forgotten relics.  They usually end up claiming these ruins for themselves and erecting base camps to defend them from grave robbers.  They also go to these places to pray, in such a manner as if they were distraught, for the coming of the final empire.

When garrisoned at home in their mighty fortress, the Knights are constantly training.  They believe themselves to be within the generation that will go on to help militarily administrate the coming Empire, and if not, then they should be in the full fervor of body and spirit so that they can pass this discipline down to their children.  Pushing themselves to physical extremes often to the point of serious muscular injury is a local controversy.  The Knights also train in jousting almost daily, and deaths in practice are not unknown to the Order.  Lastly, study of the little imperial knowledge remaining, now shepherded closely by the Order, is required for all its members.

The Imperial Knights morbidly resent sodomites and catamites, and suggests crucifixion or execution by falling as consequence.  The Knights also harbor a lingering distaste and distrust for the majority of non-Humans, with the exception of the High Elves to their south, or those they have had good dealings with in the past.  Only Orenian men are allowed entrance into the Knight’s castle, let alone the war camp.

The Knights practice crucifixion as their manner of execution, just as the Imperials of old.

    TO JOIN

    4s39XaH.png

Being converted from former knights and peasant levies into an upstart order, the uniforms these men bear are simple heraldic surcoats disguising reinforced segmented armor beneath.  They presently scour the old imperial archival fragments in an effort to better emulate their armors.

One must submit a small form to the Knight Paramount [[on this thread]] for the purpose of record keeping.  After this, the man will be declared a knightly infantryman and brought to his disciplines in the war camp [[ x: -230, z: -1560]].   At the moment only pure humans and pure elves (high elves) are allowed entry. This goes as follows:
