Shoot I forgot, our mooshroom we keep in the dungeon committed suicide late last night. We will have a shortage of soup till I can get a sailing trip to their island an retrieve another specimen, bringing it all the way back.))
  3. http://soundcloud.com/eionwilloughby/once-more-into-the-fray-eion Questing/Dungeon raiding tunes. Required to listen while reading. Rods of pure burning light from the seven night skies whipped the Island, punishing it for being so greedy, keeping secrets below its soil as if all the thunder and lighting the heavens could throw would rip open the surface of Adyton. Instead, the only thing all the sky rage caused, was panic and death upon the new coming greed grubbers that quickly scurried into the mines as soon as they moved off the boat. Among them was non other than Dash Rogers. A man who when given the order to dig up the world for precious ore, will chomp through stone in seconds, but wont stop when he sees ore because he can't tell the difference for his life and will smash right through it destroying all remnants of any material found. Right away, as soon as Miner Jack set eyes on the walking disaster of a human, he got assigned as cave lighter, ladder rigger and exterminator. Dash could not be happier, they handed him a fire spitting siphon filled with a flammable sulfur like liquid and assigned to a crew of miners to follow. A tool invented by the dwarfs. It would seem he got unlucky though, for the nozzle near the end of the siphon was tweaked and his canister was light in weight, signifying that it was low on fuel. What did Dash know, it was his first time using such a contraption. He got a crash course from a very witty and outrageous female by the name Mona Grimhammer, but that was it. He regrets not getting to know her more, but she appeared to be very busy orchestrating all the cave buffoons and to bother her, just might have spelled death with the very device Dash only recently learned how to use. Dash took up his gear and joined his new crew, mostly comprised of dwarfs so he was the tallest one there. Miner Jack directed them to head off to the Western mine site and so they moved. The storm had cleared giving them clear passage to the destination. Or so they thought. Without warning, as the team had already moved clear away from any shelter, the rain and lighting barrage started up again. The heavy rain caused a flash flood, raising a nearby river bed and flooded caverns on mountain sides, generating waterfalls that washed out poisonous cave spiders. The beast quickly gree enraged and agitated and sought to take out the steam on the mining crew. Dash turned to the aggressors with his fire spitter in hand and fired away, showering the arachnids in front of himself in a wave of flame that was only further aided by the wet environment (greek fire), but from the front, was not the only direction of attack. All eyes were on Dash as he torched the beasts, the dwarves cheered, then one cried out in agony. Everyone turned to see a spider had leaped from a tree on the back of one of their teammates and was devouring his back and head. The dwarves ganged up on it, driving their picks and shovels into the monster, tearing it apart as more spiders appeared from no where on to the scene to eat more miners. The fight was quickly becoming lopsided and Dash acted as quick as possible turning to aid his fellows but when he tried to fire the hose, it sputtered small streams of flame then seemed to stop working entirely. Fiddling with the thing then looked up to see most of the crew in a losing battle, dead, or running as a few of the creatures turned to Dash Rogers, eyeing him up with all their many red Oculus like orbs. From his right one leaped and began ripping into his iron armor but not impacting the human within. Dash did what was logical after stabbing the beast in the gut with an arrow and pushing it off his body, he dropped the fire thrower and ran. He had to run fast and far, for the spiders, with their eight legs were always close behind. The escape route had him running clear across to the other side of the island, into the wild. The rains still pounded the land, and lighting started up again during the initial fight and continues now. If the gods were trying to shoot Dash, they have poor aim, but they got close. Dash never let up, he kept on sprinting not giving the spiders a chance. He was now completely and hopelessly lost, without shelter to protect him from the violent atmosphere. Just then, as a large thunderbolt struck nearby in the starless night, a pathway was enlightenment for a few seconds. Tired, cold, hungry and with mangled armored, he followed the road. He moved along it fast but not running, for his stamina was low. There was movement in the water on either side of the path that lead him over swampy waters. Zombies with round, glowing, yellow eyes slowly rose from the muck and attempted to claw at the mans feet as he dodged dead muddy hands. They were slower and weaker than Dash, as if they had been sleeping for many moons. Soon enough, he was far from their reach, and the swamp kept them from giving chase, what he found next was beyond belief. A torn wall let in insight to a long forgotten way of life. Dash had no time to think about what he just stumbled into, he had to get a roof over his head out of the danger zone. He moved down the abandoned street and quickly found a stone temple. Before he went in something caught his eye, there were piles of somethings scattered here and there, looked like piles of mud, just off and to the right of the steps, something horrid was discovered... Another thunder crack confirmed his fears. A pit with hundreds of bodies lay on top of one another in a deep dug hole and scattered around the area. Where he thought were piles of mud, were instead decrepit bodies. Flooded, muddy, maggot infested skeletons with hardly any remains of rotten flesh. Dash pulled himself away as another lighting strike nearly shot him but was attracted to the nearby broken building instead. Dash leaped to safety up into the temple and down the stairs but went to fast and slipped down the muddy steps hitting the bottom and now laying on his back. Upon impact a clicking and pop noise was heard, then not a moment later, looking up, just inches from his eyes, spikes protruded from the walls filling the space where he would be if he were standing. The human crawled to the next room cautiously eyeing the spears, as the dried bloodied spikes slowly edged back out of sight back into the walls. Dash was finally able to rest in the dimly, redstone torch lit room that had a break in the ceiling letting in natural light form the storm. It had the appearance of a library. A small one. It was made up of four walls, made entirely of bookshelves three ways tall. Dash moved along the book cases, curiosity filling his thoughts when his hand hit a single document sticking our from the wall, rebelling from the order. "Is Bhaqk-Jiatl the name of this settlement? Or the title of the illness that wiped this population out?" Dash mumbled to himself. With that, Dash knew he had a quest and obligation. He had to discover how all these people died out, so as to prevent it ever from happening to the mainland. Our hero waited out the storm keeping himself warm and occupied, reorganizing his countless packs and pieces of equipment he carried with him at all times. Soon enough, the rain halted and the thunder siege was called off allowing Dash to move above ground and investigate the whole site. He searched the first buildings close by, a guard tower. There sat propped up, was a fallen warrior with a golden tooth. Instincts told him to take the gold nugget, but Dash knew to respect the dead. That and being as superstitious as he is, does not need a lost soul haunting him. Moving on, he climbed to the top of the tower and got a fair view of the whole village. In his head, his cartographer work days kicked in, as he mapped the whole place out in his mind, taking note of possible dig sites, important buildings and notable relics. Dash slid down the ladder and moved to a hole in the ground of the tower. There he found something completely bizarre and beyond belief. He still can't make any sense of it as he thinks back. Beneath the tower, underground, was two rooms. Once he got below, Dash began hearing faint, unsettling sounds. He could not help but follow it and as he did, it became more clear that they were shrill screams! He had to find a way down to help. Dash moved along the darkened structure looking for a solution, he found a gap in the path and would have to leap across. Dash thought ahead and let down a rope ladder incase he were to fail but at least not fall to his death. He made the jump just fine though but did not find a way down other than the pit which he did not have enough rope ladder to continue dissent. Instead a large double chest was found but lacked loot. Dash left that whole area of the cave feeling empty and could not hear the screams anymore... The next adjacent room of the main ground floor beneath the tower had something more terrifying. It was simply filled with a single chest just beyond a glass box imbedded in the ground before it. Natural thievish instincts beckoned Dash to rush the chest, but as soon as he stood on the glass and looked into it while eyeing at the chest saw it. Instantly he jumped back falling down on his rump unsure of what he just say. From what he thinks, it was a wild eyed eyeball, the size of his head. On approach the thing bounced around as if it was trying to look for a way out. Dash shut the images out of his mind and moved on. Our hero climbed from the ruined tower and opened right up to the street again. It was still dark out so he thought to set up camp and be well rested for any dangers he may find next. This location, Dash felt had good enough roofing and included a furnace to keep him warm at night as well as try to cook any raw foods he had hunted. Dash is no cook, for any teachings of his mother really did not get through aside from the common tongue, writing and mathematics. She tried to teach him to cook and farm but he really did not pay attention. Later in life, it has really bit him in the butt since he has been trying to do both. He helps as a farm hand the best he can on Syrilas island village, and often times finds himself either eating burnt or raw meats in the deep wilds all alone with only a fire made by his flint and steal to comfort him. Today he does the same but at least this time he has a furnace that does a lot of the work for him. The meal was exactly what he needed. After a short dinner, he unrolled his leather and furred knapsack and took a long enough nap for sun to rise again. Dash rose the next day along side the sun. He took whatever food he had reserved and climbed to the roof of the ruins he slept under to have breakfast with the sun gods. He finished the meal, nodded to the gods for sharing with him and readied himself for the journeys below packing all the necessary items, and storing what he did not need. The first dungeon was right next to him so he proceeded right in. The first landmark was an simple bed room that was unaccessible. The one time he does not have sticks of dynamite on his person. He continues on down making a mental note to return another time. Walking down the cavern walls begin to play tricks on his mind. They make him think he is hearing incoherent whispers rising out as he descends down but our hero ignores the small noises and arrives at a fork. A room with dried blood covering its walls and a broken stone hall leading out of it, or a flooded pit with raised rock pillars. Dash chooses the blood spattered route first. There was nothing to fear and at the end of it, a sunken chest was found deep underwater at the bottom of the cave. Dash shed his iron suit, got his lock pick in hand, took in a large sailors breath and drove right in working as fast as possible but also calmly, so as not to lose his breath. Dash had gotten great amounts of loot that day and forgot if he got anything from this chest or not, and just before that chest, Dash collected his boat fair mina from a dead man just passed the bloodied room. Its different stealing a dead mans golden tooth compared to taking his MIna Dash tells himself. The tooth is a part of the mans life and goes with him to the after life, the mina on the other hand become so insignificant to the man that the coins on his body only weigh his soul down from lifting into the Seven Skies. Dash is the sort of man like his parents, that almost seem to make up adages from thin air that just happen to suit their current situation. Either he has himself completely convinced, or he has you converted to a believer. Dash makes his way back tot he pillars that stuck from the putrid waters. Dash is really not a bright boy, as a smart man would utilize the pillars to leap across to the desired destination without having to wet ones attire, but Dash is also a sailer and jumps right into the water that reeks of the dead unaware of the pillars purposes. He swims over to the location that the pillars lead. A dim lit room with only an alter occupying it. After Dash found a way to climb up out of the water did he realized this was a puzzle to test his jumping ability. Dash simple shrugged it off and smashed approached the alter. The whispers seemed to intensify as he knelt next to it drawing his lock pick set once again. The alter unlocks with ease and from within, is a magically imbued golden scepter. Dash tucks the the wand in his bag and jumps back across the pillars and all the way back out to his campsite. The final dungeon was the crypt and night had begun to fall once more. Dash had strong beliefs that this being the final ruin left unchecked, that ti would hold the secrets to this new found evil. Within moments of reaching the entrance did he start hearing the moaning and groans of the reawakened villagers. Dash peered into and down the steps with his bow drawn and an arrow cocked. Peering back up at him, were the glowing eyes of the shambling dead. The sharp orange setting sun illuminated Dash for the lame brains, grabbing every single ones attention. Their chatter stopped for a split second as all eyes turned to Dash, then the bum rush began and Dash let loose. Dash shot so fast it seemed that he was firing without having to even pull arrows from his quiver and yet, that was what was actually happening. Dash never understood it, but it was a power he stumbled upon. He strongly believes, that all living beings are made of pure magic and earth and that everyone has the power to harness the essence that makes up their existence. This one supernatural power he discovered is what the elves call, Soul Arrow. The power to form a physical bolt with your mind and soul in your bow and when impacted into the target acts like a standard arrow but only leaves the feeling of pains and agony a normal arrow makes but does not make a physical impact on the subject that was fired at. That does not mean the damage does not exist though, the one who received the sharp end of the soul arrow, receives the full effect as if it were a normal bolt. The recipients mind body and soul is what gets shot and physically reacts with internal bleeding. Dash continued knocking them down and when there were lulls in the the waves, he would take the time to light a few arrows with his flint and steal igniting the next unlucky zombies on the front lines. The beasties continues to pour from the tombs crawling up the steps up after Dash but all failed to even reach his feet. He moved in with an arrow at the ready, slowly moving down the steps fully expecting a lingerer to leap from the shadows at him, but none shown themselves, they all laid, finally accepting their deaths and allowing the spirits they trapped within, to climb the clouds. The crypt became eerily dark. Dash pulled from his side, a stake wrapped in wool and lit it on fire giving a clear impression of his surroundings. A large wooden door stood in his way, and behind him, a switch. Hardly a puzzle, but just after it was trouble. At least it would have been for a man less agile than Dash. Two long jumps later and Dash began making his way down a stone spiral staircase. At the bottom was a clearly rigged room. First a test. Dash tossed a small bag of sand out to the pressure plates to see just what he has to deal with. From the left wall, arrows flew and stuck into the wall to the right. The solution, armor up on the left side. Dash used what was left of his withered armor and constructed a sort of shield that he could wear on his left shoulder, ducking behind it and slowly moving to the single box chest on the other side while deflecting all incoming bolts. Dash had uncovered many strange and wondrous things, but an answer to the start of the quest, remains unclear. He takes his knowledge to the Cloud Temple Monks at once!

  12. Shop Name- The Riggerous Quest (Name is spelt Riggerous in honor of the Riggers whos grave sight is just east of the settlement) Location- South West Cloud Forest along the dwarf road. ((location intended to be all secrety, so the path is only hinted at by hanging lanterns and meant to only be known by word of mouth)) Items for sale- Soup:5 Bread:7 Meats:10 And safe houses to rent: ground floor:150 every Saturday. 2nd floor 200 every Saturday. If you purchase a home before the vote plugin returns, these are the prices you pay. If you begin renting when voting is up, the prices raise to 300 ever Saturday and 500 every Saturday. Owner- Charles Graymane. (he owns the plot and is "The Mayor" (Working title) of the town. Secretly The Master Thieves own it and work out of it.) Welcome to the Tavern Town of ShadowVale and The Riggerous Quest. A place for a drink and a good time where your fellow patrons and yourself are the governing force.((Think Tortuga from Pirates)) Everyones mina is accepted here. To keep a loose bit of order, we do have rules and punishments to ensure a good time all around for everyone and so we don't have all kingdoms placing war claims on us. Laws Rule 1. The town is a place of complete merriment and to enter the gates in the first place one must tell a story or sing a song. A story of your travels or another mans tale, a drinking song, or a simple poem, all is acceptable. This is your passport, much like Hansetis system but far better. When you find the gates, to the right will be the notice board and the gate operators window. You will tell him a rule and your performance. It will be at his discretion alone to allow you entrance, but it will be near impossible to be denied. Rule 2.No murdering, raping, or other extreme villainous acts. Bar fights will occur undoubtably, and flirtatious actions will happen, but that is as far as it goes. As said before, we don't need every kingdom in Asulon laying siege here. Rule 3. Respect the bar keeps, bar maids, and performers. Without them, you would not be able to enjoy this place at all so we need them to keep working here. Rule 4. It will not be uncommon for people of the criminal world to converse here, being that there is no monarch ruler overhead and guards on every street corner. To keep their mina flowing into here, I request that you not rat anyone out telling others that these ruffians can be found enjoying themselves here to the law. Breaking this rule will have the most sever punishment. ((Rule 5. Rp fights only. Bar fights, duels in the street, brawling competitions, everything is RP fought using /damage here unless stated otherwise)) ((Rule 6. No OOC brackets aloud within town walls or in front of gate. Bring it to tells, unless its absolutely necessary that you need to speak to the crowd in OOC. but really it never is and you can easily solve anything through RP.)) Punishments Fail rule 1, and you will be asked to leave and return a moon later. Or if you enter from over the wall and are not a regular, then refer to rule 2 punishment. Break rule 2, you will be banished from the town and if you should ever try to return, everyone on the grounds will be obligated to beat you. ((PvP enabled)) Ex. You return to the gates or get inside somehow, some one recognizes you, (you can wear a disguise and have another alias) the spotter will say something along the lines of "Oi! this is the scum that tried to rape our bar maid!" at that point, everyone will gather round and a discussion will be held to determine if this is the right man or not who was banished. If found guilty, he will be beaten senselessly by all in the area (pvp enabled). Breaking rule 3 is the least harsh of all punishments. For grabbing a bar maids buttock, throwing rotten tomatoes at stage occupants, or bad mouthing one of the inn/bar keepers, the worst you'll get is thrown out into the pig sty out back to cool off. ((Depending on the severity, you just may end up in a bar brawl (RP fight only)) but this law is by far the least enforced but still, I would never get on the bad side of the tavern owners. Rule 5 breakers have the worst punishment of all. Banishment and kill on sight orders/bounty placed on your head. You will be on the run your entire life from the villain underworld. Every criminal in Asulon will be obligated to kill you and bring in your head if you squeal and rat someone out to the law who is within the tavern town. Rule 6 breakers. All that will happen is if you use brackets in OOC, in RP, the players around you see it as you with a foul oder about you, or you are staring at someone's breast. However it wants to be role-played, but basically, you are doing something offensive and will be punished by either everyone in the place beating you up or throwing you in the muddy pig stye. (RP fighting only) (there may be more rules and punishments that I cannot remember at this time and will edit in later so keep an eye on this thread) The Riggerous Quest and Activities There is a lot do here in ShadowVale, most just drink our fine selections of wine, ale, whiskey and rum or enjoy our prized home brewed stews and soups. Nearly whatever flavor of soup you want, we have it just ask the bar keep if he's got your favorite soup in the cauldrons and will most likely say yes and bring it to you. Yet, many also come for the entertainment, games and performances. The most common game people play around here are those of the drinking sort. The most common among that is... Drink till ya drop: 2 or more players. The game starts with each player having a mug of the strongest alcohol in their hands and the first one to down their drink and say the words "Drop." (capitalization and period included, no parenthesis) gets to chose to either be the kicker or receiver. The player can either kick the next drink to his opponent to start the round, or receive the first shot. After that point, they take turns drinking on after another. Whoever drops(death.) first looses! Simple as that, then thrown that drunkard into the pig pen. In all of everything, bets can be placed so please do before starting any game. Mina Mak'in: The game with many names but here we call it Mina Making, everyone knows this game. Up to Six players. Everyone decides on the bet, say this round is for 100 mina. Then everyone rolls, right to left around the table (/roll 30) Whoever had the highest rolls, takes in 100 from each player. (take screenshots) make sure you all sent your mina in before the next round. Another way of doing it, is to delegating a party leader, at the start of a round when the bet is decided, everyone gives the leader the mina then rolls after he has everyones mina, he announces to roll. Then to the winner he pushes all the mina so the next round can start faster. For more games, come in and find out for yourself, and if you would like to submit a game idea, post it below or just go in and present it directly to the tavern folk. Performers will be hired to give the place its full atmosphere. They perform on stage on the 2nd floor, in front of them is the dance floor, but really, you can dance anywhere throughout the town, music will be heard all over the Cloud Forest. If you have performance group or just like to be on stage, we will hire you, please put your contact information below. Bar brawls and shirtless gentlemen's duels are the bread and butter of this establishment. If a fight does not occur every moon phase, then business is slow. For more official brawls, we ask that people make a ring out of themselves at the center grounds so that the mustached fighters may have clear boundaries. Any one can simple stand out there with their shirt off signifying that the wish for a challenger. Menu Meals: Soup. Any flavor you ask, we will most likely have it. 5 mina Bread. Only the freshest and finest ingredients to be priced at 4 mina All meats. Every meat is 10 mina. We don't have full stock often Beverages: Wine. Depending on the year and who made it, 20-80 mina a bottle. If its from Aegis, it will most likely be placed at 100 Mina, only for the richest bloods in the bar. Ale. 5 mina for your basic pint. We are looking into getting a trade route to The Vale for their fine spirits. Whiskey. 7 mina Rum. 7 mina ((Hours: I will make this place open 24 hours or so every Saturday or sunday and be actively bar tending, hiring barmaids, and getting performers to get this to be the most popular tavern in the game. I already have a decent sized staff)) Beyond the Quest We have rooms to rent as the only other thing you can do in this town. Bottom floor rooms go for 150 mina and 2nd floor rooms go for 200 mina to be collected every elven week(prices will rise once voting plugin returns unless you get a room before the plugin returns the price stays where it is now). (Saturday pay up. take a screenshot and send it to my email [email protected] if I am not online) fail to pay twice in a row and you will be evicted unless you talk to me. ((These apartments are really intended fro villains on the run or who just need a safe house till the heat dies down, but anyone is welcome to purchase rooms. Each room comes with an secret escape route. 2nd floor has an attic for more storage and roof access, just take the candle (redstone torch) off of the pressure plate and a secret compartment will open up. You are responsible for your redstone candle. Ground floor will have an entrance to the sewers.)) Each room has a bed, chest, work space, and furnace to keep you warm at night. If you need fire wood, buy it from the inn keeper. ((We also have a villains only lounge that requires you to have a VA to enter, but we aren't going to check, we will size you up and find out RPly if you are a true villain or not. You could just come in a disguise that makes you look evil. To enter the door you need to know the password that the operator on the other side will know. It will most likely be the answer to a riddle that you will find out if you are in business with The Master Thieves))
  13. ((I was going to kidnap people to test this death trap dungeon puzzle so I don't have to walk in first and get the loots at the end without any real risk. Perhaps a discount for a fellow villain?))
  14. Official or not I nominate Archmage_Cataris again. When I am fully awake tomorrow I will fill out a proper form
  15. ((living a life where even your closest friends kill for a living, just roll with the punches and don't be next.))
  16. (( makes me feel warm inside, it means a lot to me, I tried to pass it off as me just telling a rumor that I heard from someone else but I guess i am just not that good of a writer. Yes the next job will be a bit more foreward and not so much thieving in the dead of night when no one is looking. Calling all villains! ))
