"If you run away from combat with little, or no roleplay, those involved are allowed to stop you. This generally means they will knock you down using PvP. Then they must revive you, so that the roleplay may continue. To be clear, killing anyone with no roleplay isn’t permitted."

I despise cowards. Tracking them down and slaughtering them mercilessly is satisfying.

"Slaughtering animals in a pen or stealing or letting them out is only allowed with proper roleplay and RP signs must be left. No more than 25% may be killed or let out of the pen. Horses may only be stolen or killed if they are not near any buildings or other form of civilization, this is done via a modreq."

What is roleplaying?: A ridiculous Imperium concept where in which one pretends that they are another person or being and attempts to appropriately imitate their persona.

What is metagaming?: The act of, while playing a role, making use of information that one would not normally be aware of in that scenario. Orikan the diviner is a flagrant abuser of this concept.

What is powergaming?: The act of claiming one has more power than logically possible and taking the liberty of assuming that ones actions would not be stopped by the opposing force. This is a false concept to the Necrons, fortunately, as our power is limitless.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Long before the The Deceiver fooled us in to giving up our frail fleshy bodies, I was but a humble Phaeron. My kingdom had suffered poverty and the streets were filled with countless bodies of the dead. I had no qualms with relinquishing my mortality and becoming the mighty warlord I am now. Me and my twenty legions of Immortals shattered many C'tan and dominated many craft worlds, until the great sleep.

60,000,000 years later, we continue exterminating the galaxy of all life, and now we have arrived on your pathetic Forgeworld,  we plan to destroy and enslave every last one of you! We will start with the disgusting Eldar, particularly the ones of higher ground and sickening silver walls that remind me of my fallen comrades!

Personality Traits: Ambitious, bold and cunning. There is not a single mortal that can hope to outwit me!

Ambitions: To Exterminate all life on your pathetic planet.

Strengths/Talents: Twenty legions of Immortals ready to attack on my command. If need be, I will even execute my own battle prowess!

Weaknesses/Inabilities: I have not a single weakness! Except perhaps the off chance that you possess Melta-Bomb technology, but I am willing to bet your primitive minds wouldn't even know what such a thing is!

Honestly, whenever I see lore like this, I always assume, "Hey, special snowflake wishes to be an even more special snowflake!", and after some time, the idea just dies like avenging my family.

 

Not to completely draw away from the topic, but why do so many people expect everyone to play totally plain, totally normal characters on a fantasy RP server where I'd assume most people go to play a character that isn't just like themselves or a ridiculously blank, stoic or average character from a favorite TV show? It's like expecting someone to walk in to a fancy dress shop to try to order a newspaper. I think people confuse wanting to add more creativity and variation to the server with wanting to be special (neither of which I have a problem with because if I wanted to do something seriously normal and not special I'd go outside and actually have a life).

INFP - Turbulent diplomat.

It's just a sort of indicator of how active/how many posts you've made, like the default ranks (Shop Owner, Gold Miner etc). The more posts you have, the more "dots" you'll have (Note how some staff with 200 or less posts only have about 5 dots whereas some ordinary players with around 3000 posts will have around 15). They don't mean anything important, pretty much.

Zack's Team:

Zack is fascinated with technology and advancement, especially the concept of mechanics. Though he prefers not to kill, he does have an interest in combat and has been a blacksmith for many years. His team would be centered around technology, metal and combat.

I've known Jade for quite a long time now and I think I know her well enough to say she is more than capable of handling this position. She is very dedicated and hard working, often to concerning extents at times, so she gets a +1 from me.

some people on Lotc can't play by the rule of "just because you can, doesn't always mean you should", and will often take what you've given and abuse it.

Aside from that, spiritual aura seems way too real for Lotc, much like how the Oren religion is handled too much like Christianity. Hence why I believe this bit of lore just doesn't seem to relate or fit into Lotc all too well.

Regarding your first point, the same could be said about literally any magic. There's not a single one that doesn't rely on the player not powergaming/abusing, so why is this any different?

As for your second point, if that's the case, why is said culture and religion not prohibited on the server and why is it allowed? Furthermore, since when was "It's too real" ever been a valid argument to say something doesn't fit on the server? Are we going to ban clothes and weapons on the server because they're too similar to what we have in reality too?

I've read through a few times and I like it so far! I feel it's very balanced and would make an interesting completely non-combative (finally!) magic. +1

On the few occasions I've spoken to Kipples, particularly over in-game disputes (though, he probably won't remember), he's always been extremely level headed and polite, which is something I rarely see from members who aren't close friends with one another these days. I think he's worth a shot. +1

The Rep I'm not too fussed about; don't entirely see why it needed removal when FM's can quite easily hand out bans and other punishment for intentionally flamatory/offensive posts, but whatever. As for the status updates, not liking it. It might not seem much, but I suddenly feel... so disconnected from the community. It's one of the only ways we really communicate with one another and socialise without being friends or in-game. Are you going to remove posting rights without approval from at least 5 GM's who've looked over it next, for fear the response may contain content that might offend a few people? Sorry for the smart-ass remark, but that's honestly the direction it feels we're going towards, this being just a minor start.

The forums feel... so empty now, without player status updates, like what it would be if LotC were totally dead and nobody played anymore. It's discomforting and it's not something I feel was necessary. It could be handled easily with moderation and appropriate punishment for flammatory, offensive updates.
