υλο This is a work-in progress. I plan on tying to Lore more, you could help me with this! Name 'crudus pullus' means "raw chicken" in Latin and Old English. Why the symbols υλο?: υλο are the last three symbols in the Greek translation of the word "Chicken", symbolizing the three men in the lore of the fraternity. The Chicken: Raw Chicken has 30% chance of poison, which why raw chickenery is frowned upon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Who do we look for?: Young men off all creeds are our primary pledge targets. But we pledge all who want in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why join?: 1 in 6 noblemen are in a fraternity. ((Not real stats, just a satire of RL frat stats)) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What υλο is about: υλο are said to emphasis and praise "Raw Chicken." Although widely unknown to the general public, the rituals of υλο are said to consist of eating and emphasizing raw chicken. The fraternity is known, but their practices are not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brief Beliefs: It is said that υλο founders were left stranded and barren in the desert wild. They were without food or drink for days. When they came across a chicken. They could not believe it. A chicken in the desert? They were starving so they chased the chicken. The chicken led them to an oasis. The oasis was filled with water and greenery. The chicken jumped into the oasis pond. As the men came to the pond where the chicken had jumped into, they saw a stone. The stone had ontop of it three raw chicken carcasses. The men, filled with hunger, ate the raw chicken without cooking it. The men did not get sick, but instead gained the strength and direction. They found themselves with new rejuvenating energy, and made it out the desert. From on the men praised the chicken, and attributed their lives to the raw chicken. The Crudus Pullus Fraternity was born. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Social Disposition: Society frowns HEAVILY on the "sickening" practice of raw chickenery, and therefore the rituals and practices of υλο, are arcane and unknown to the public. Some towns and villages have even undergone investigations of the fraternity. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Influence: υλο is said to have influence in many noble families. Although raw chickenery is frowned upon, and not a legal practice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leader?: There is no said "leader" of the fraternity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pledging: υλο pledging occurs all over Aegis. The process is merely an initiation ceremony, where it has been said chicken is evolved. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Purpose: υλο has no purpose, and is merely a way to meet other people who share the same desire and love of raw chicken ((This is not proven Ingame)). You take on a mindset, you are no longer "you" but another character. You act according to that character's perceived values, and views. Powergaming is giving your character unrealistic abilities, or deciding the fate of another character. In one word = Awesome :D What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played a couple many of them pure Survival servers, but I've tried a few small Minecraft RP servers, and I've tested Mel-Lenxia at one point. I also recently tried Buxville. I moved on from the survival servers, because I wanted to try the roleplay aspect of Minecraft. I've always loved RPing in other games, so I decided to try Minecraft. I left Mel-Lenxia, due to the costs, nice place though. The other minecraft RP servers I tested (about 4 of them), were short lived, or did not have constant membership (Their names escape me). I have only recently tried Buxville, so I haven't came a conclusion on the server just yet. I don't know exactly but I believe I am vote #: 3,628 What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Arthua In-Character: Character Name: Arthur Norwich What is your Race?: Human Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Arthur is the son of Gregory Norwich. Arthur was raised solely by his father and does not have any information about his mother. The Norwich's originated from Southern bloodline, which is noted by Arthur's lean build and dark-skin appearance. Arthur's childhood was very nomadic. Arthur's father was a trader and made his money trading various items, ores, and food to different people. Arthur's father never made enough to establish a store, and had to travel to sell goods. Therefore up until the age of 16, Arthur had no permanent residence, living temporarily wherever the market went. Arthur's lack of guidance at such a early stage in his life, led him to be a very volatile and easily angered young boy. Arthur had tendency to pick fights with local youths, if they even hinted at him about his family's lifestyle, or their Southern ancestry. The life of trader was hard on young Arthur. Arthur had to aid his father with deliveries through the dangerous forests. Arthur's father although poor, was very adept in literature and taught Arthur how to read. Arthur read any scrolls and books he good get his hands on, and became very literate, charismatic, and fluent. During Arthur's adolescent years, Arthur used his fluency to seduce and serenade various women in the places he ended up. Arthur's father influenced his views heavily, instilling hatred for Druids and dwarfs in young Arthur. When Arthur turned 17, Arthur's father found permanent work in Al'Khazar as a lumber trader, which was moderately lucrative due the prevalence of trees in the area. Arthur and his father were able to outsell other local lumber traders, by secretly selling illegally obtained lumber to foreign travelers. Things seemed to be going well until, Gregory Norwich was slain one night, by an angered local lumber dealer over a game of cards. The dealer was found battered two days later, putting temporary suspicion on Arthur. But the incidents were deemed natural occurrences in the forest, and therefore the investigation was dropped. Soon after Arthur was forced to leave Al'Khazar due to the Undead attacks, sending him back to being a traveler. Arthur is currently 18 years old, and hopes to use his physical prowess and literacy to find work in other neighboring Oren regions. Your characters ambitions: Although it saddens him to, Arthur must continue trading on his own for now to make a living for himself, but he hopes to branch out and use his skills to make money in another field. Arthur has heard that swordsman professions such as soldiers, make a decent pay and he may temporarily look into that. Arthur is young and strong, no one knows what his future entails. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Arthur learned respect growing up as a rugged traveler, so he never tolerates unfair fights. Arthur would grab any weapon he had and run inside and aid the elf. However if the elf happens to be someone Arthur does not like, Arthur will crouch and wait outside to see the outcome. If the bandits win, Arthur would hide from the fleeing bandits, go inside and loot what he can from the fallen elf. Arthur will sacrifice honor, for revenge, a flaw of his. Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Hypothetically speaking if this is before the siege of Al'Khazar by the Undeads, Arthur would say "How are ye', I got a good deal on some lumbah' you looking to buy any? If not I have some other good items you can have..." - This conversation would be very unlikely after the Al'Khazar attacks, as Arthur would not step foot in Al'Khazar in fears of being killed by the Undeads. A screenshot of your skin: Other Information: I'm really excited about LoTC, I've been on a steady search for active RP with not just combat opportunities, but also civilian opportunities. This place is great! Occasionally, Arthur will speak with a woodsmen accent (for ex. Lumber would sound like Lumbah' coming from Arthur).
