Out-Of-Character:
Minecraft Account Name: kitty00009
Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: I did not attend, so I couldn't sign up... sorry?
How old are you?: 18
Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in the US, and I'm in the central time zone
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, I would hope so.
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I used to be part of a big non-related minecraft roleplaying community, some while ago. I was in this community for several years. I left because of issues at home and the usual things that can get in the way of any fun you attempt to have, but I'm hoping to come back slowly, and why not here? I love gaming, and I love minecraft, I'm an avid gamer, and I am no "noob".
How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Possibly twice a week, even three times. Mostly on the weekend, like Friday, and Saturday. Since I have a lot of exams this year, I might be idle in May, but that's a long time from now, so let's stay positive.
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: I have had quite a few years of hard-core roleplaying, but it was a while ago. What it means to me? Well it means to bond to the community with a story that they all share, I believe that "rping" on Minecraft is different, as we cannot write as much as I'm used to expressing, but I'm sure it's fun.
In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Well both are cheating, and breaking the rules, not to mention ruining the immersion. Although Metagaming in rpgs at least, is using outside knowledge that your in game character has no clue about, but you yourself irl may. Using these factors and breaking the "fourth wall" of sorts, it is in no way realistic. So if someone knew that player x was going to raid someone's house out of character, and stopped them in character without their character having any prior knowledge, it is against the rules, and metagaming. I hope I didn't make anything uber complicated! So then Powergaming is the more "god-mode" approach. I know that in text-rp, it means that you attack someone without giving them a chance to respond, or retaliate. I guess in MC, it's more of mods that help you cheat such as inventory hacks or flying mods, anything with an unfair advantage.
What do you expect this server will be like?: I hope I will have a friendly community that will make the experience enjoyable. Usually I leave servers because of the community, so I hope that it's mature and welcoming! I also hope that the rpg element will make minecraft amazing!
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I don't remember the names exactly, but I used to play on smps. Mostly smps, because I like the survival element, and the normal MC rules. I never enjoyed the creative servers, or any of the arena servers. The only rpg servers I tried were smps with rpg elements, so I'm excited to try this one!
I left the other servers either from harassment, boredom, emptiness, or the server shut down.
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, yes I have.
How did you hear about us?: I used a search engine! Like how I find most other servers, but your uniqueness peaked my interest.
Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? No, I have no clue what Minestatus is! Sorry!
What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Same as my MC account name, to make things less confusing - kitty00009
In-Character:
Character Name: Kifaranga
What is your Race?: Human
Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
(I'm a bit rusty, so let's see how I do, but this should be fun)
Kifaranga has a fresh start, but she has a rough history as most seem to have in such times. Her skin is a ghastly white color, as if she has never seen the true amount of nourishing love, to leave it such a dead color. Her hair though was as dark as the night sky, and the contrast in turn was sharp along her features, showing her small, lithe frame. Grey-violet eyes, almost the same color as the last breath of light as the sun would set every night adorned her face, hard and cold, like stone. A smirk would occasionally, if not often show itself as she judged everything in her own secret jest, finding nothing better than herself. She was a bastard, never knowing her father, and raised by innkeepers after her mother died of labor. Kifa learned from early on the hardships of life, and often played the game of emotions, pulling and tugging threads, controlling the population. She never let anyone see her true self, and would always get on the nerves of others, all in jest of course. Although from early on, she kept a safe distance from males, as she never trusted people in general, but men usually towered over her in such a demeaning way. Not like she enjoyed the company of women either, as she found them to be much like peacocks and chatter over the stupidest things. No, she was a loner, never dependent on anyone, but herself. Intelligent, cold, ruthless. The only good deeds that she would do would be for her benefit, anything was for her benefit, since she was neutral to the bone. The law, or the authority were only looked up to in ambitious need, as her goal was to crawl her way up. She enjoyed looking down on people, and what better way than a throne? This girl left her home at the age of 19, running away from the life that crept up on her in such a boring fashion. She wanted adventure, and new people to push around, along with no one telling her directly what to do. Kifa had a choice now. Even though Kifa found enjoyment in tormenting other's lives, she never really enjoyed fighting, or bloodshed, as it risked her self-absorbed life. Therefore with a new smirk in hand, and nothing but the greying clothes on her back would she find herself in a new story, her shoes trotting silently along the gravel path.
Your characters ambitions: Power, wealth, fame.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?
Kifa first hears something across the woods. It sounded like a fight. Her curious legs take her to the site without much complaint, though she hides behind an old, dying oak, watching the bickering. Of course she would only watch, as helping would mean getting her hands dirty, or worse, risking her life for some stranger she had no care about. Satisfying her curiosity, she pokes around for any treasure, finding nothing, and walks off in her original direction, caring less for the fate of the elf.
Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?
The girl looks up confused, as someone was talking to her. She wasn't used to it. "Why yes, actually. You're uhm, well I fear that everything you own is a tad bit overpriced. Especially for something of such condition. Ooh especially this shovel, it looks like a drunkard in a mine-cart drove over this, then threw up on it. No one would buy something of such a price, even if you were my favorite aunt who gave me a fresh batch of cookies each time I visited." A smirk would play across her face, ooh she was bored, and staring at the goods this sorry excuse of a shopkeep had to offer was her only form of entertainment until they opened their mouth. That was their mistake, now she would wait for the expression on their face to change, from puzzlement to offense. Oh, how satisfying it would be.
