((How are people going to get their things then? I've been going in through a balcony to move my items to my new home but others might not think that far  ))

Recently I have noticed a lack of guards in the city. Many rooms in the barracks are abandoned or vacant and the list of those 7 or 8 guards that are seen regularly ((active)) is small. Even worse, those who still patrol the city are generally alone in their duties. ((different time zones)). If the city was attacked, the numbers would be unfavorable. ((Probably 4 or 5 guards could make a scheduled raid)) Some new recruits are needed, along with the moving of items of the deserters. I have nothing against my comrades, and I am only concerned with the safety of the city. OOC: I understand it is spring break, and people are on trips. So if we decide do anything, we should wait a few days. Also, the door to the Barracks is locked :-D Sorry that I have to say this, but if you use this to make a decision on attacking Normandor, or send spies to learn this information that is metagaming Unless you are in the guard or a city official, you never saw this That said, have a nice day ;-)

Are any docks or stables in place yet? I can't wait to see how this works. Another thing, Should small, craftable boats not be legitimate RP anymore? One would think that with the new system, one wouldn't choose a small raft over a ship or horse.

The Normandorian Sentinels (Malinorian Guard) Updated
Cardz3 replied to Ithil's topic in Inactive Guilds
Out of Character: MC name: Cardz3 RP name:Rovan_Dyonel Race:High Elf Do you meet the basic Initiate requirements? Yes, in fact I exceed them. In Character: You read the Oath of the Guard: I, Rovan Dyonel swear to abide by all the rules of Normandor and the Kingdom of Malinor. I swear to uphold the peace, justice and sanctity of the Elder Tree. I swear not to abuse my powers, to assist my brothers in arms and to conduct myself professionally. I swear to follow the chain of command and strive to prove myself to them. “As brothers in arms we strive to ensure the security and prosperity of our city. Harbingers of death to all who would oppose Her, paragons of justice to all who defy Her, protector of Her sanctity.” Signed: Rovan Dyonel *The Sentinel asks you questions so he may ponder over your request to join the Guard, he beckons you to keep it brief* Question 1: What can you contribute to the guard of Normandor? Rovan: I can contribute my own sword and skills ((42 swords)) and a fierce will to protect my homeland. Question 2: Armoured persons approach our gates, they are open. You don’t know why they are here. What do you do? I would order them to halt, name themselves and their business in Normandor. If they have good reasons to enter the city, such as meeting an official or returning to their homes after a journey, I would grant them entrance. If they wished to do business in the city (buying or selling items) I would ask another initiate to accompany them to their destination. If they did not provide a reason, I would sound the alarm for assistance and try to hold them at the gate. Question 3: Where do you wish to progress in the Guard? I wish to move up the ranks to perhaps sentinel, and be a respected citizen of Normandor. -

Out-Of-Character: Connor Donnelly Minecraft Account Name: Cardz3 Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: I did not go to minecon, to my great disappointment. How old are you?: I am thirteen. I am young but see myself as mature enough to be a good addition to LOTC. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: My time zone is central standard time, so therefore, i live in the United States. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I have lived in the United States all my life and have a complete understanding of the English language. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a thirteen year old male with a little less than a year of minecraft experience. I am admittedly an addicted minecraft gamer along with many of my friends. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I could be on the server five to eight hours weekly. This estimate is time spent mostly on the weekends. My time will be extremely limited during the week. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is not just acting like your character, as many believe, instead, you are the character. This is the beauty of roleplaying, because it lets you be whoever or whatever your imagination can come up with. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is having your character use information that has been found outside of the game to their advantage. This creates unrealistic situations, leading away from the point of trying to create a realistic role playing world with it’s own unique people. Powergaming is ‘winning’ an argument or fight and not giving the other player a chance to react to your actions. Ruining the point of role playing. Losing in role playing can be fun, and is necessary to keep a roleplaying experience entertaining and realistic. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to be full of amazing minecraftians. I have looked over the lore several times, and find it amazing how the community has caused it to grow. There are so many different aspects to the server, and looking over it has reignited the feelings of playing minecraft for the first time again. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have done much server hopping in my minecraft experience, and my friends and I bought our own 24/7 server. This is the server I play the most on, but having all the power can get boring. Soon enough you feel like you’ve ‘beat the game.’ I heard of your server from a friend, looked it up, and here I am! Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have read the rules and accept them. How did you hear about us?: I heard of you from a friend, His minecraft name is Leiland22. The spelling of Leiland might be wrong though. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? I have voted twice. I don’t have first vote number, but my second is 3,044 What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Cardz3 In-Character: Character Name: Rovan Dyonle What is your Race?: Rovan prides himself on being a High Elf. Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Rovan is a High Elf, descended from Malin, he sees himself above all others, hence then name, High Elves. For the first seven years of his life Rovan was spoiled. He lived in Aegis and as that world was falling apart, his was just beginning and he had everything he wished for. He was, frankly, a brat. Rovan’s family left for Asulon when he was seven, and settled down in The Elder Tree City of Normandor. His perfect life continued. This changed the day that Rovan’s father left, he said he was going to fight the Mori'Quessir, and make them pay for invading his new homeland. He wanted to stop everything that caused this threat to his people. Rovan’s mother stopped caring for him and laid in bed all day and night wailing, utterly depressed. Rovan was now forced to care of someone else for the first time in his life. He was constantly afraid that he’d wake up and hear some city official knocking at his door, demanding that he be separated from his mother. This day did come. When Rovan was fourteen his mother was sent to an asylum, and he was left alone. He wandered for the forests of Malinor for days looking for someone, anyone to help him. He lucked upon a small hut deep inside the heart of the forest. He weakly cried for help and collapsed on the ground. An old elf heard his cry and looked out his door. He saw the boy and took pity on him. He brought him into his home and cared for him until he awoke. Rovan quickly learned from his stories that his name was Demus Matenoke, and he was a retired member of the warrior guild. When Rovan was well again, he asked to be trained in the ways of the sword by Demus. He accepted but only on the condition that he would keep his small property clean, as he was becoming to old to have enough energy to train Rovan and care for his home. And so they came to an agreement. Rovan would do all of Demus’ work, from his fields to his house, exactly as Demus wished. In return, Demus would teach Rovan how to use a sword. Rovan learned quickly and over time, the small pale boy from his childhood disappeared into a strong burly elf. On the seventh anniversary of Rovan’s training, Demus gave Rovan his blessing, to have all his wishes fulfilled and to stay away from harm. He then sent him out into the world on his own. By human standards, Rovan was a man and he he believes he is. However, at the age of twenty-one, he is a small child to the elders of his race. And so his adventures are only beginning. Physical Description: A tall strong elf by the age of twenty one and 6 foot 3. He is always seen with his light leather armor on and fashions a small green bracelet. His hair is a silver color, like many other high elves, and his skin shines a pale gold. He has dark blue eyes that are full of youth and he radiates a feeling of controlled power Personality: Rovan is full of pride, and his arrogance can get him into trouble when he feels his pride is insulted. Strengths and Weaknesses: He is strong with the sword, because of his training, but weak with other weapons. He has had no training with bows, and sees axes as peasant weapons. His years of working for Demus have lead to him being proficient at cutting wood and farming. Your characters ambitions: To bring back the former glory of the High Elves and find his lost father. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Rovan would walk up to the bandits demanding them to stop. At first making an effort to drive the bandits off without unnecessary combat. Rovan:Leave the Elf alone, let us move beyond this petty disagreement and go our separate ways Bandit 1: Why do you believe you have any influence on our actions, this is a...personal matter, and none of your business Bandit 2: Yes, step aside boy, or we will have the unfortunate task of making you move. Rovan: I warn you, do not underestimate me, it shall be your undoing. *Rovan waves his sword threateningly* Bandit 1: last chance boy, fight or flight. BAndit 2: or to put it another way, life or death, *The bandit smiles maliciously* Rovan: Ha! do not make me laugh. The choice lies with you, do you choose to fight here? Or live to see another day? I, for one, am staying. Elf: Sir, please do not put yourself at risk, your young recklessness will find you much trouble here. Rovan: *whispers* quiet, fool! Do not worry about me, if fighting breaks out do your best to get to a safer place. These petty bandits shall be no match for me. Bandit 2: Why don’t you say those words to our faces? *the bandit scowls* Rovan: *pauses, weighing his odds and glancing at the bandits’ equipment* All right then, I believe you petty criminals are no match for a trained High Elf such as myself. Bandit 1: Don’t be an arrogant pest! Now, step aside! *the bandits draw their swords and advance towards Rovan* Rovan quickly darts to his left, feints a thrust at the first bandit, then spins and slices at the second. He pays for his carelessness and receives a sharp pain in his back from the first bandit’s dagger, it is not deep, but painful. He then steps inside the reach of the second bandit’s sword. Then quickly dispatches him with a sharp blow from the hilt of his sword. The bandit falls to the ground, unconscious. Rovan ducks his head as he hears the swoosh of the first bandit’s incoming blade. From a crouched stance he slices at his enemy’s right knee. The criminal falls to the ground in pain. Rovan stands over him with a cruel look on his face, he is in pain, but does not show it. Rovan: do not oppose those who are your superiors in battle. *Rovan thinks of killing the man, but decides there has been enough killing today* Go! and leave helpless travelers alone! *the bandit nods in terror and quickly limps away* Elf: *stares at Rovan in awe* I do not know what to say... Rovan: Nothing at all sir, have a nice day. Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Rovan: *Looks at the merchant’s goods* I see you have some iron there Merchant: Yes sir, straight from the dwarves themselves! *He gives a convincing smile* Rovan: We shall see about that. *inspects the iron* tell you what, I’ll give you 900 minas for half the stack. Merchant: *sputters* ridiculous! for that much iron I ask 1750 minas at my minimum! Rovan: *looks at the merchant disapprovingly* I will settle for 1300 minas, *sighs* do not make this difficult please. Merchant: *frowns* I will take your offer, but I ask you this- Rovan: *raises his hand and sighs* the deal is done, why must we continue with petty talk? Merchant: Because I wish to know where you received this money. I cannot be dealing with criminals... *eyes Rovan suspiciously* Rovan: *an angry flare appears in his eye* Do not insult me! If you must know, you nosy pest, I got it off of one of these criminals you speak of, after knocking him unconscious. *Rovan reacquires his businesslike state* Now hand over the iron if you please. Merchant: *hands shaking* Yes sir, right away sir! Rovan: *taps his foot as he receives the iron and says angrily* Good day! Rovan then quickly marches away. A screenshot of your skin: Other Information: Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. Rovan:Leave the Halfling alone, She is helpless with no way of defense. let us move beyond this petty disagreement and go our separate ways Warrior 1: Why do you believe you have any influence on our actions, this is a...personal matter, and none of your business Warrior 2: Yes, step aside boy, or we will have the unfortunate task of making you move. Rovan: Nothing at all Ma’am, have a nice day. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Rovan: *Looks at the merchant’s goods* I see you have some iron there. Merchant: Yes sir, straight from the dwarves themselves! *He gives a convincing smile* Rovan: We shall see about that. *inspects the iron* tell you what, I’ll give you 900 minas for half the stack. Merchant: *hands shaking* Yes sir, right away sir! Rovan: *taps his foot as he receives the iron and says angrily* Good day! Rovan then quickly marches away. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Rovan would not sink to such lows of stealing for these small trinkets. He would probably leave a sign saying something along the lines of: Dear Landowner, If you are still living in this establishment, I would like to inform you that many travelers pass through these roads. It would be unwise to keep your valuables where they are. Many of these said travelers will not be as kindhearted as myself and you would return to find these items missing. Good day to you! Rovan Dyonel Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Rovan: Hello to you as well Camp Leader: ‘ey! would ye like to sit and take a drink with us? Rovan: I am afraid that I do not have the funds to pay you, would you accept my last 5 minas? Camp Leader: There’s no need fer that! Come ‘n’ sit right here boy! *pats the ground next to him Rovan: Please accept my measly gift, it means much to me Camp Leader: Aw! it’s truly my pleasure. Rovan: I will not accept a free meal, it is beneath me. Now may I sit and dine with you? Camp Leader: All right then... hand it over, grab some grub and share your stories with us! Rovan: *sighs with relief* I am eternally grateful to you, thank you so much. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Rovan would be happy to eliminate any wrongdoers that are in the area, and a reward doesn’t hurt. Rovan would go to find the leader of the town guard and the following conversation would probably ensue. Rovan: Hello good sir, I hear that you are organizing a raid on some nearby Bandits. Captain: ‘ndeed I am Rovan: I am interested in joining your crew. Captain: *laughs* but ye are just a boy! Rovan: *darkly* yes i am, but do not underestimate my skills. Captain: ‘m sorry, but i wish for there to be no casualties on dis h’re mission. This isn’t a game ye know Rovan: Indeed i do sir. I have plenty of experience with bandits, having defeated three in my travels. I am also trained by a retired member of the warrior guild, do not underestimate my skills. Captain: *raises eyebrow* eez dat true? Let me see yer sword. Rovan: *hands over his iron sword* Captain: *inspects the sword* well, it has seen use, ‘n’ is of good make, if ye believes ye are good enough, we’ll be glad to have ye ‘n’ yer sword with us. Rovan: Thank you sir, let me know when the raid will begin. Captain: Alrighty then!

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Rovan was born into the royal lineage of the High Elves. This will always be the thing he is the most proud of. For the first ten years of his life Rovan was spoiled. He was, quite frankly, a brat. The stereotypical High Elf, he looked at all the world down the end of his nose. This changed the day that Rovan’s father left, he said he was going to find the ones who had unleashed the evil into this world and make them pay, he wanted to kill everyone and everything that caused this threat to his people. Rovan’s mother stopped caring for him and laid in bed all day and night. Rovan was now forced to care of someone else for the first time in his life. He was constantly afraid that he’d wake up and hear knocking at his door. Demanding that he be separated from his mother. This day did come. When Rovan was fourteen his mother was sent to an asylum, and he was left alone. He tracked down the best swords-elf he could find and demanded to be taught. The Druid, known as Demus Matenoke, was reluctant to take a strange boy under his roof, but they came to an agreement. Rovan would do all of Demus’ work, from his fields to his house, Rovan would have everything exactly as Demus wished. A deserter of the warrior guild, Demus had much to offer Rovan in the ways of the sword. Rovan learned quickly and over time, the small pale boy from his childhood disappeared into a strong burly elf. On the seventh anniversary of Rovan’s training, Demus gave Rovan his blessing to have all his wishes fulfilled and that he would stay away from harm. Then sent him out into the world on his own. By human standards, Rovan was a man and this is what Rovan saw himself as. However, at the age of twenty-one, he is a small child to the elders of his race. And so his adventures are only beginning. The choice lies with you on your lives or death. So, do you stay, or go? I for one, am staying. Elf: Sir... please do not put yourself at risk, your young recklessness will find you much trouble here. Rovan: *whispers* Quiet, fool! Do not worry about me, if fighting breaks out do your best to get to a safer place. These petty bandits shall be no match for me. Bandit 2: *the bandit scowls* Why don’t you say those words to our faces? Rovan: *Pauses, weighing his odds and glancing at the bandits’ equipment* All right then, I believe you petty criminals are no match for a trained High Elf such as myself. Dispatching him with a sharp blow from the hilt of his sword. The bandit then falls to the ground, unconscious. Rovan ducks his head as he hears the swoosh of the incoming blade. From a crouched stance he slices at the first bandit’s right knee. The criminal drops to the ground in pain. Rovan kicks his blade away and stands over him with a cruel look on his face. He is in pain, but does not show it. Rovan: do not oppose those who are your superiors. *Rovan thinks of killing the man, but decides there has been enough bloodshed today. He cries,* Go! and leave helpless travelers alone! Merchant: *frowns* I will take your offer, but I ask you this- Rovan: *raises his hand and sighs again* the deal is done, why must we continue with petty talk? Merchant: Because I wish to know where you received this money. I cannot be dealing with criminals... *eyes Rovan suspiciously* Rovan: *an angry flare appears in his eye* Do not insult me! If you must know, you nosy pest, I got it off of one of these criminals you speak of, after knocking him unconscious. *Rovan reacquires his businesslike state* Now hand over the iron if you please. Merchant: *hands shaking* Yes sir, right away sir! Rovan: *taps his foot as he receives the iron and says angrily* Good day! Rovan then quickly marches away.
