  1. By all means, I'd expect counsel to be sought from others. I speak on behalf only of the people in my circle of LoTC friends, but I am sure many others agree from the general tone around the TS and other groups we come into contact with on the server. Nothing wrong with a little late night lag if its worth the results! Not letting us down, in fact you talking to us here is quite the opposite of a let down! Look forward to all the delicious cobblestone! :D
  2. Ever, Thank you very much for your timely and robust reply. I know I speak on behalf of many people when I say we really appreciate all the hard work you are putting in and the unsociable hours required to make the changes. I am glad that there is a plan in place to progress forward and we have some sort of understanding now of the issue. Again, I think a public announcement may be particularly well received as frustrations begin to rise. Personally, I think taking the server down to make the changes and fix the multiverse issues would be the preferred course of action. I'd rather have a finished product with the key features than a server with limited player functionality. Although RP isn't necessarily affected by these issues the backbones of the communities are hindered and things are getting worse (as mentioned economic and build programs are being severely damaged). Again, so long as the reasons are explained I am certain it would have general popular support. As I am sure statistics are showing peak and non peak populations on the server are being impacted,in part, one would assume, to do with the issues above. I really hope correcting action can be taken soon. Thanks Again, Elder Ithil
  3. Hello, Apologies if this has been raised, I have looked for it, but cant seem to find a thread. Could we please have some sort of proactive message regarding the mining system on LoTC? They have been down this entire week and it is beginning to impact on the game (this is my opinion, but I know it is shared by others). I have sought clarity from the mods on this, at best I have been told they will get back to me, at worst I have been told 'they are down' followed by a prompt close of the mod req. For a game centered around building and mining, lacking the latter seriously reduces the enjoyment factor. It also impacts the economy as prices get driven up and player access to ore's is floored. Many of our clans major building projects have been undermined (lack of both materials and efficient tools) and I am certain less people have been playing as they wait around for the mines to be fixed. The lack communication around the problem is making it worse, so I am posting here with the hope it encourages a robust response from the support team and some sort of timescale might be applied to it's resolution. Many Thanks, Elder Ithil Osage Clan
  4. Alternate Account Application Main Account MC Name: NeoAnderson Alternate Account MC Name: Aeradiir In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming and Powergaming are abuses most common in junior roleplayers or those out to deviate from the rules. MGing is essentially the use of OOC materials to influence IC actions. Information, exploits, communication gathered outside of the game should not be deployed to influence IC behaviour. Discovering a map of some magical ruins on the internet and then following this map in game would be a prime example of such. PGing contains different physiological and material elements. Creating unsustainable and unfair attributes to one’s character is a common example of PGing. Seeking power, at all costs, at the expense of others, the lore/law and indeed, the enjoyment of others, is a form of PGing. Any action which inhibits the action of another, unfairly, can be deemed as power gaming. Deciding your sword has an un-blockable, all damaging buff that will render any opponent defeated without them even being able to respond is an example. More materially, abuse of in-game mechanics giving unfair advantages can also be considered a pseudo form of PG/MGing. Character Name: Ithtoriell Aeradiir What is your Race?: Dark Elf Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Ithoriell is a typical dark elf female. Her skin is tinted a twilight grey and her hair a greyish white. Her eyes however are unique; every member of her known family has always had dark ebony eyes. But Ithoriell is different, her mother said it was an omen, that a great magic must be stored up inside her, warping her very soul. It is indeed true that many elves hold the eyes to be the gateway to the soul. Ithoriell was present on the voyage of escaped elves from The Verge in Aegis. She journeyed with her mother, father and two brothers. One of whom is a resident of Normandor this very day….Ithil. A most cruel fate had inflicted this family, and fractured their very existence. As far as Ithil knew his sister, mother and father perished on the shores of Asulon, in the unknown waters. Ithil fled with his brother on his father’s command, vowing to protect his younger brother at all costs. He left his parents and sister injured aboard the ship, seeing no hope of survival. To make matters worse he lost his brother in the waters too on his swim to the mainlain. Ithil has never forgiven himself, deeming the loss of his entire family on his hands. However what Ithil did not know, was the true outcome of these events. Although nothing is known of his brother, the Gods smiled on Ithoreiell that day. As the ship was sinking the main mast split from the ship and plummeted to the main deck, narrowly missing her family. It was these screams that Ithil heard and assumed the worst as he made his escape. However, things were not as they seemed. These were screams of fright not death. Ithoriell quickly thought, she lashed herself, mother and father to the main mast. It split from the main ship and began to drift away as the ship sank further into the ocean. Ithil had washed up on the shore, unconscious, awaking only days later. He had lost his brother, he had lost his family. He was driven tormented across the land, before eventually settling in Malinor, vowing a military career in service of the elves, to remedy his protective failures of the past. He would now ensure that no elf fell to the same fate. Ithoriell and her parents washed up on shore near where most of the ships eventually moored. Her parents were injured badly, a group of humans saw her in distress and took her in, along with her parents. Time passed and Ithoriell watched over her parents. The monks were so overwhelmed with organising a new temple they had no time to see them or attempt to remedy their ills. Ithoriell waited as human domain she sheltered in turned into Salvus. She longed to rejoin the elves, hearing of the kingdom of Malinor, far to the North. But she could not bring herself to leave her parents, besides she assumed her brothers were dead. Years passed, as did Ithoriells parents. A wretched isolation and deep loneliness filled her heart and soul. She wandered through the human kingdoms, taking her anger our of trees with her axe, it made things easier somehow. This continued until one fateful day she overheard a group of Malinorian diplomats talking in Salvus. They were talking about a newly elected Prince, Prince Ithil of Normandor. Ithoriells ears picked up and her eyes widended. Could this be….her Ithil!? She ran to the diplomats, asking them question after question about this Ithil. It WAS HIM!! He was alive!!! Ithoriell packed her things and her axe and returned to the diplomats. They granted her permission to travel back to Malinor with them, reporting back to the Elven High Council. Ithoriell was overjoyed! After all these years, she had family again….she had Salvation. She journeys to Normandor, to be reunited once more!!! Your characters ambitions: After hearing that her brother is in fact alive she wishes to make a journey to Normandor at once. It has been years since she saw him last, Ariel truly guides her once more. She has family again and she will stop at nothing to set her eyes on her brothers once more. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Ithoriell panics, she has been sheltered in a city for so long, such violence has only been whispered to her but never experienced. She knows she can use an axe, but she has never cut flesh with it. She decided she can’t leave the elf to die. She picks up two small rocks from the floor; from the cover of the trees she throws the rocks at each of the bandits! She rustles the branches and ensures they are on their way. Once she is sure they have left the elf, she sprints away, throwing more rocks back as she finds them; until losing them in the thick of the woods. Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Ithoriell frowns and scrunches her face up. SIR!!! SIR!!!! I am a female you blind fool! It’s the middle of the day and you have no excuse for making such a mistake unless you are a Mori, blinded by the light! I would ask kindly for an apology and reassessment of your statement if you please!.... A screenshot of your skin:

  12. Update Notes - 23/02/2012 Added the Captain Structure in line with expanding duties and responisbilities. Captain of the Realm: A truly coveted role, highly prestigious and hugely rewarding. This person must display tremendous leadership. He will be the High Commanders eyes, ears and voice. He will lead the Sentinels in to battle and organise the cohorts in preparation for war. Truly the commander’s right hand man and the most important Sentinel in the army. This role is a huge responsibility but hugely rewarding. The eyes of Malinor will be watching you. Do not let the Kingdom or Normandor down! Captain of the Sentinels: This Captain is responsible for the command of the Sentinels in Normandor. His role is also highly commended and he works with the Captain of the Realm to ensure the Sentinels are ready for war. He also ensures the Initiates and Guardians are put on the right path to becoming Sentinel. He must command respect and have real leadership abilities. A Sentinel of high status and great responsibility. Captain of the Auxillia: This Captain is responsible for the Sentinallia Auxillia. He is to oversee recruitment of all forces that reside outside of Normandor. He is responsible for their training and equipment and answers directly to the High Commander. He collaborates with the Sentinel and Realm Captains in times of war. This Captain forms a vital external link and is truly invaluable for the Kingdoms external security. He may promote those in the Auxillia up to the level of Guardian. Following that promotion must be granted by the High Commander.
