  1. I had to make sure that I posted a picture with the same crew from my last post. Been a bit tired lately. Sorry that I am a *****. Sleepy eyes. Limitless mind.

  2. Pocket dimensions aren’t really a thing we should be doing on LoTC. It is too complicated & requires too much assistance. Might be cool as an idea for an event though.

You are also adding a powerful spell that costs the cognat absolutely nothing in return while crossing into other magics. Not to mention the spell itself is PG. Mental links require consent ICly or if they refuse ICly then OOC consent with extreme focus. This is essentially a circling spell that doesn’t do any of that. So I disaprove.

Its not an end game. End game implies that you become a more powerful version of what you were before, and usually retain all your previous powers (like Keepers and Archons do).

These spirits lose all their mortal druidic powers and slowly gain new ones. Considering you need to start at square one (tier 1) with entirely new powers if your character dies and becomes a guardian spirit, I dont see how this qualifies.

I don’t want to sound rude and ask if you read the lore but it does seem to say in multiple locations that they do keep their old powers as they learn these new ones. Unfortunately by your own definition of “end game” we have a contradiction.

  4. See you totally had me before you got into the battle effects. Like it seemed dope that druids could ascend to live in the fae realm and maybe even come back as Force Ghosts or something but if voidal arts are gonna get blasted for "power creep" then this cannot be accepted as it adds an entirely new level of power to every aspect of the druid without sufficient consequences.

I love fae realm lore and I think that if you had passive effects rather than active effects and cut this lore to 20% of what it is I could get behind it. Maybe instead of having them be super spirit warriors their dedication builds an effect on the monument of their death? From the ritual point certain nature-y effects occur that don't involve OP forms of combat? Maybe the animals become healthier or a the area is harder to taint or something. The ritual site being a pilgrimage spot of sorts? Give up their powers and put their personality in a tree or spriggan?

(and pls don't use LoL as refs. For my sanity q_q)

    MC Name: BrandNewKitten

    Character's Name: Iatrilemar Elervathar

    Character's Age: ---

    Character's Race: High Elf

What magic(s) will you be learning?: Voidal Feeling

How did you learn this magic(s)?: >Going to be learing the magic. The lore states that existing mages may learn this feat.

MC name of OOC overseer (Note: they must either have a TA in this magic on any character or be a member of the MT): Can you assign me one?

Offer an explanation of the magic(s) you are learning: Voidal Feeling allows a mage to further their knowledge and application of active mana before using it to fill an object and detect its properties. Newer practitioners can receive basic, mundane information such as the boiling point of a certain material or the components that were used in its creation. Yet as they advance in this feat they are able to "dissect" an object mentally, or maybe even understand how to reverse engineer. Magical objects in particular may be understood on a greater level including their functions and their creation. The advancement of the feat also allows for the more mundane and scientific information to be understood more clearly and in depth. However the more detailed information you want to collect and the larger or more complicated the object you wish to fill the more time and emotes you must do and only by calmly practicing the magic may you achieve its full effect. Those that fill an object with haste or unsound minds or attempt it in combat will find their attempts met with difficulty or impossibility.

Provide evidence you've a proper means of learning this magic(s): Iatrilemar has intimate knowledge on enchanting, transmutation, voidal translocation and celestialism. All of which contribute to the overall ability to decipher things, especially those magical in origin. Transfiguration has been about research and that you do not know a spell or enchantment, fusion of items, etc... without tests and practice. Voidal Translocation involves understanding the unique magical value that each item has and Celestialism has a scrying ability to better understand magical entities. He has been told what this feat does and now out of necessity seeks to learn it.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:  N/A

Do you agree to keep the MT updated on the status of your magic app by using the Magic List Errors topic?: Yes

Have you applied for this magic on this character before, and had it denied? If so, link the app: N/A

This makes no sense at all. It is an artifact with a unique effect, not an alteration to the way druidism or Blight Healing works. Blight Healing itself is already mostly personal choice as to how you display it happening, the aesthetics entirely up to you. Some use tendrils of green energy, some use healing mists or fogs, some use their staves and simply have it healing around it and spreading outwards.

This is for a more unique method that fits the character, a tool they created to express their own aesthetic for it in a harmless way that simply creates more unique RP, which is never a bad thing. Kyral has long played the violin, and her totem, Scroll, means more than just parchments, the scroll is also a section of the Violin, further reflecting a piece of herself.

For all the artifacts being created by other groups nonstop, this is a very harmless one that just offers a more unique approach to a single aspect of druidism. I could pick up a standard violin and use it and have mists form off it like another druid does their staff, but I wanted more to it than that.

There is no 'power creep' here, and the entire point of making items such as these through a MART /is/ to make something uniquely personal, more special, or a unique way to approach something, which is the entire point of the MART which you seem to have missed.

uhh or you misread my entire point?

I was saying this fights against that notion of "power creep" and the need for bard magic by taking something already present ICly and working it to function in a bard-magic type of way.

As for my first paragraph I just thought it might add a cool sense of give-and-take that raises the stakes of having the violin. If you read the implement lore it states that implements can help those that struggle to cast or those that are troubled of mind preventing them from casting. In that lore a redline is if you lose your bonded implement your casting and mental fortitude are strained.

Ya took my compliments and suggestions as rude remarks and now I don't like you... jk

  7. Update 1/27/2018

    > Synica

    > Thalas

    Celestial: Synica

Synica is a tortoises with a thousands of tiny gemstones encrusted on its back with each gemstone symbolising an element within the color Ocatrine. Light refracts off its back and though it is slow moving a great sense of worth is displayed in its ability to garden, among other things. Some of its stones seem to grow indecently from its shell and a peculiar white stone can sometimes be found.

    Celestial: Thalas

    Spoiler

Thalas is much like one would expect of a mountain-goat. Though brute-like does it appear its soul longs for peace. Crystal-like spikes protrude from its hide and its horns, Sturdy enough to hold things, even a small child perhaps, and agile enough to be a reliable companion. It’s fur occasionally glows a gloss, fluffy white and it appears to having healing capabilities in regards to voidal entities.

  8. As a redline and con I would suggest making it near impossible for said druid tk cast said spells if they don’t use this IF they continue using it for a selected period (1-4 months). As they become attuned and their spells augmented it is only natural that they falter without the use of their instrument.

Also we don’t need bard magic. It is. Ideas like this that prove that we can have it already. The concept of bard magic contributes to that well known phrase “power-creep” whereas this takes something alreay solid and makes it uniquely personal to its caster.

  9. Shamnism, Celestialism, & Necromancy are what I believe to be the best examples of depth of magic. Each heavily encourage player communication & cooperation and are really only going to be fun for the caster if you are creating interesting roleplay to see. They are powerful, but also ritualistic, & complex enough to keep motivated players busy.

  10. The initial idea seems cool (I like the show you got the idea from) but a but shallow atm. If there are artificial lines I don’t think mages should be able to change the natural ones on their accord.

It just needs more substance. Mana rivers and stuff already exists so it isn’t as if this is ground-breaking lore. I just wanna see some more specific interactions.

    I'm not insulting you.

    I'm saying this is needless.

I know your points are valid, don't worry.

Thing is, I wouldn't be applying if I didn't know my stuff...

So what you are saying is.... you wanna wrestle?

bnk idk if you saw what my reply originally said:

"A Horror must witness a magic in order to begin the self teaching process and a mere book describing the magic is not sufficient. You need to see it be cast."

and then tahmas hmu on discord with a screenshot of the lore showing how what I said was wrong and, as it states, he can do this. I was promptly p-ed off and started rambling about how the old post needs the amendments made added into it like how Broods were clarified, moonspeak was clarified, reading books to get magic was removed, and the avenue for lessers to become greaters was added. It's all a hot mess i am sorry

That is okay. My last comment seemed more angry than it was. I was just like “is no one understanding the issue I am bringing up?” & I didn’t see the unedited reply

And surely this isn’t the player’s fault or problem. It still exists however.

@oneghouliboi And yes. Let us insult the writer of the magic you want to RP when they are trying to ensure that people are adequately learning it. My points are valid & it seems this was an appropriate enough place them out given that it is solving a lore issue.
