  1. As a casual Kha player I take issue with several redlines.

No alcohol is a stupid rule as social drinking is a very common non-combat RP scenario.

No heavy armor is super super lame. Of course they wouldn’t be as agile with it on but to outright ban it?

And why such a heavy enforcement on the dialect when in character is where you should be enforcing non-washing? A lot of the kha accent has most definitely been cultural up to this point. Sure they might sound different but Orcs can sound pretty mundane if they really choose to as well (I believe).

Not thrilled with how tight the lid on this lore box is. You aren’t leaving room for casual kha players like me to pick up their well defined characters anymore.

edit: I read it again. Why are cultural points being added as redlines and why are mechanics being added for this race? No other race complies to mechanic standards. This lore piece feels like it is presenting a very specific vision of Kha. It would be so easy to write this lore piece without all this constricting redlines.

  2. I think it only fair that things like “powersharing” be re-evaluated under the new system. We have told so many other magics that they need to pull back on the supposed power creep so having druidic batteries (or any effect that lessens exhaustion when you reach tier 5) seems contradictory.

  3. Fire creates light. Hot fire creates brighter light. I don’t see a problem with it having a torch spell. “Torch” is literally a stick on fire for the purpose of lighting up an area.

Arcanism has luminous properties, I am sure you could conjure some crystals to refract light with Earth Evo, Conjurations could be luminous. Something as simple as a light spell can have a multitude of different approaches. It’s so basic it shouldn’t matter if magelight or transfig use light spells.

sry it wasn’t my intent to say the other opinion is invalid or null, but that a good playerbase, that also isn’t null and shouldn’t be invalidated, does wants Nexus back

also, loud wheiners stands for people that post in the forum a lot or their stuff matters, not whiners

edit: Nexus, in my opinion, created a line between RP and PvP, where Nexus ultimate goal was to enhance the server’s PvP aspect; every road leads to PvP utilities in the end, all the grinding is used for PvP with NO exception.

If you wanted to PvP, you HAD to grind to be relevant/competent or have someone else grind for you, but at the same time no one was obliged to grind if they were actual roleplayers. Max you’d need to grind on Nexus as a hardcore roleplayer would be the same we currently need to grind: food, food and food. It did not interfere on daily rp stuff unless you want to beat raiders, people grinded because they wanted to grind over RP and be more competent at PvP, no one was forcing them to do anything if the intention was to RP.

I like a lot different mechanics or something over vanilla minecraft with local chat and no diamond. I’d be really satisfied if something could fill my need to grind, one of these things would be a brewery plugin like the one we had in Anthos or a music composing plugin. Drug plugin is amazing but it’s broken right now and there’s no devs to fix it, it’ll probs be dropped come next map and this stagnation will likely continue for the next one or two years

Fair points. I think we can all agree that a brewery plugin would be a good step. Maybe that’s what we need again. Plugin testing? We went through a lot of plugins in  Anthos. Would be cool to revisit some of them.

its just the loud wheiners of the community that don’t want nexus, make a pool i’d say it’s a 50/50 or 60/40

Actually, it’s just a bunch of your fellow playerbase didn’t like it and they didn’t enjoy that version of Lotc.

What was annoying about nexus to me? Here are a few things:

The menus that organized everything but also made it difficult to find anything.

If you weren’t grinding you couldn’t do anything with it. It promoted grind over rp.

There was an economy but it made people stockpile items for no reason. Tons and tons of chests of useless **** that stayed useless until it was phased out of the map.

There was a clear line between RP & Nexus. It never felt fully integrated but instead it felt like a wall. Wanna play a blacksmith? If you didn’t grind 200 hours (or more like 2000) then what is the point? Your crafted items suck in comparison to the average player.

Any casual player got left in the dust with little incentive to return. I remember many a time returning to LoTC after a break, logging in, and logging out 10 minutes later after not wanting to figure out the system again. You can’t do any MC thing without figuring out Nexus and the learning curve was too high.

Pro: Once you learned to do something with it and spent the time getting the resources you could revel a bit in your semi-customized pixels.

Just because some of us didn’t enjoy it doesn’t make us whiners or invalidate our opinions. It is the server we play on too so respect the differing opinion a little bit more. Also the polls were always rigged and in general, LoTC polls are never accurate. Yet we used them in so many situations that it’s weird that the Nexus poll, sparking it’s removal, is controversial.

There was a reason that you just elected to ignore, found in my most recent reply as well as a few of Zyth’s. I hand you my monocle sir, to search for the reasons why.

Outdated lore stated blood mages were allowed to learn. Blood mages can also use the horror blood within a celestial for rituals.

Outdated lore also stated that a shade could not learn Celestialism after they were made a shade but a Celestialism user could keep their magic if they were made a shade. However Shades nixed that in their rewrite that came after, stating a general “incompatibility” despite me attempting to give roleplay variations.

At the time they wanted access and I came up with some ideas on how dark magic interacted with said magic. In the end it was too complicated and went unused.

Without a proper explanation on why certain magics are included or excluded from learning this feat I will have to -1 this lore. If a proper reasoning is posted besides "Dark magic Is bad" then I'll subtract my -1.

Celestials are beings of Order. Dark magics are chaos-based.

Most holy magics disallow void magic anyways. Ascended is the exception to this. Idk about Runesmithing but basically if you follow a deity your being is affected by them and thus the “stage” you are looking to operate on in the void would be awfully crowded. The Celestial would probably be pulled towards the Deity’s realm instead of the caster’s.

Familiars are instinctual, simple beings. Nothing more than a blob of energy within the void, it can be assumed that if horrors can see Celestials for what they are (super tasty beings of light) then Celestials, in their uncoiled-voidbound form, can do the same. They would stay away from creatures they see as predators.

In other words a mouse learns to recognize a lion as a lion.

BUT. Anyone can have a Celestial bound to them unless I missed somewhere in this piece disallowing Celestialism users from binding to anyone.

P.s. add Requiem back in ? but just make it so the Requiem Talent safeguards them in the void.

Ain't no sass sir. It wasn't related to arcanism. You were talking about what you wanted for magic tires as a whole and had gone on a tangent.

And you called it upon your own authority to moderate. So chill it. Can a mod just clean up the thread for the author, including my “tangent.”
