  1. We need to see more screenshots of builds.

We can't accept you on word alone.

We also don't just want to see single buildings. We want to see entire concepts and terrain as well. For buildings please focus your screenshots on what it looks like on the outside.

Also may I recommend making your application slightly more fancy?

    PS. I like your boat.

  2. Bigger Issue:

While posting on forum threads I have recently been encountering an error message stating that the security key I had been using to post could not be found. It actually happened while trying to post this help thread.

    error message #20310

    Smaller Issue:

Along with that as of recently My profile isn't staying logged in and I have to log in every time I bring up the site. I have clicked the remember me box and have never before encountered this problem but it has been occurring on two different computers and my mobile device.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    GO TEAM GO!

  3. UPDATE: The Brew

((Warning: Do not meta. This is just so everyone is aware of the situation.))

    --((Some more back story lore))--

After Astria had been dispatched of by the group of villagers, Harold and his son seemingly were fine, and so the group set out back to their homes. Unfortunately for them while Samuel, the son of Harold, was completely untouched by the Witch's magic Harold was not.

Astria had been a powerful and secretive witch in aegis, quietly working her magic in desolate places away from prying eyes. To her dissatisfaction her power was limited by her aging body. Not willing to give up her power upon death, Astria crafted her very essence into a beautiful purple stone. A stone which burned with the darkened soul of the witch.

The stone lied dormant for many years, untouched by mortal hands. That was until an adventuring Maiden and her group happened upon the resting place of the witch. Taken back by the

stones exquisite nature and hypnotic beauty, the maiden was driven to kill her followers, claiming the stone for herself. Little to the maidens knowledge a transformation began within her. The soul of the witch had began to attach itself to her and use her as a host body, her eyes turning a solid dark purple. The power of the stone emptied the previous soul of the body, replacing it with the soul of Astria.

In her new and refreshed form the witch was able to continue her dark alchemical studies. However her ability to speak and control her immense power through words becomes limited. Often manifested in the

host refusing to speak, stuttering, and making abnormal vocal sounds.Eventually the host body will begin to deteriorate due to the lack of bodies ability to use the dark burning magic. This is shown by the appearance of burnt or pealing flesh from the host body. Since the host's body is too weak to sustain the power of Astria's soul for an infinite amount of time, she eventually begins to seek out a new body to replace the current one with. The amount of time between switches varies and it effected by the amount of magic she uses. The more she uses her Evocation and conjuration magic the faster the host body is used up.

    ---((Current Happenings))---

    The Brew:

The hut of the previous hut that had managed to travel through the nether and the verge is now occupied by Harold the Farmer. Sitting long hours in his swampy bunker Harold, or rather Astria, continues practicing her dark magic. AS the host travels from town to town gathering intestines from animals and herbal ingredients the host examines faces, and bodies, looking for possible test subjects.Arriving back at the hut the host begins to gather and organize the last of the ingredients needed for her new curse. A curse the host has been "dying" to see in action.

((Here is some IG RP I did for the brew... Don't mind the "No one hears you." I was alone :P))

    thebrewing.png

Finally completing the brew that had taken weeks of preparation, the host leaves the hut on a search for a test body. Walking aimlessly the host spots the temple of fire & shadow from afar. Astria grinning through the host body begins to approach the temple. Upon arriving the host is confronted by a temple priest giving words of religion. Not knowing how to respond the host pulls out an egg from his satchel and offers it. Which lead to the the host climbing the temple stairs and sacrificing the egg on the alter of the temple.

As the host was leaving he was once again approached by the previous temple priest, asking him to listen to some of his poetic words that he had wrote. The host grinned as he saw an opportunity arise. Remaining silent the host followed the priest to a hillside dimly lit by the cascading sunset. Remaining silent, and unmoving the host listened to the priest as he recited poetry.

As the priest finished the host gestured for the priest to now follow him. Without a second thought the priest accepted the request and began following the host, eventually entering the swamp and nearing the witch's hut.

Arriving at the door of the hut the priest got a quick glance at the sigh stating "Beware" before the host moved to cover it up. The host gestured for the priest to enter with a inhuman, sinister perma-grin attached to his face.

Resistant, the priest tried to dodge the proposal until the the host let out a growl beneath a soft "Please Enter." Finally accepting the priest entered the hut to warm up for a bit, followed by the host who silently bolted the door shut behind them.

((Well that is all for this update. A shout out to Aiim who had some

impressive RP. I enjoyed it very much myself. Look out for more

updates! Maybe you will get to see what happened to Samuel in the

    next update. Mwauahaha!))

  4. The only problem I see with the new map are that a few of the towns have began morphing running into each other.

You can literally walk out the gate of one and walk ten blocks reaching the next which is only slightly bothersome to me. Also I feel like there are a lot of un-RPly built tree homes in the jungle. A lot of house that don't use proper supports and essentially are floating. Montefluer has a great location and has made great use of the land so far, keeping its building slightly more roomy than other towns.

I think a GM should go though and clean up a few places during a natural disaster "Earthquake?"

Also the snow is inviting but it's a little dramatic. You can't see any of the lands beauty due to the block high blanket of snow.

The desert island is simple and beautiful by the way. As well as the Orc and halfing isles.

  5. ((Thank you to all you participated in the event. This event was brought to by the Event Team.

    ET members involved.

    Tommyredblue as Samuel the Child

    Brandnewkitten as Harold the Farmer

    Megacomet79 as Astria the Witch

The event went better than I could've expected and I personally enjoyed the dense RP involved.))

In the swamps of the island that the races of Aegis have come to regard as home lurked an evil. Smoke and ash billowed from the small hut on the less inhabited part of the island. Muffled screams of agony echo throughout the swamps and shadowy figures have been known to be scene at night.

    ((back-story for the event.))

Harold along with many of the Aegis onlivers has tried to resettle

and start anew after the countless years of living under constant

fear. He has seen the journey from Aegis and even the storm that sent

them to the scattered islands as a blessing. The soft sands and airy

seaside settlements helped ease his mind of the loss of his dear wife

Clara, who had sacrificed her life to the undead so that Harold could

escape with their child. Harold vowed to never let anyone harm his

dear son Samuel and nearly drowned holding his baby out of the water,

when the ship he was sailing on capsized near the shore of the

    islands.

With his son and the new land Harold had at last seen a glimpse of

hope for Sam's future. They settled into a small farm estate near the

shore where the land was fertile and the seas picturesque. Although

constant thoughts of Clara wore in Harold's mind he knew he had to

live on for her and for the sake of his son. He worked hard to give

Samuel the things he needed. Crops bloomed, their island estate

become their home, and they had eah other.

Things took a turn however when Harold had lost sight of his son.

Samuel had gone exploring in the nearby island jungle to start his

own adventure. Frantic, Harold went to take the sword from his

lockbox only to find it missing. In a frenzy Harold bolted out the

door and into the forest as the reddening sun beat down on the

horizen. The intensity of the night grew even higher as he entered

the canopy covered forest. Fresh rain drops from the incoming

tropical storm collided with the tears staining Harold's cheeks.

About ready to collapse from the several mile run Harold stopped to

catch his breath and look around, trying to spot a light or something

that could clue him on the location of his son.

The hard crash of thunder hitting the tree adjecent to him left him

stunned. He watched in a dream-like state as the tree tilted towards

him and began to decend. Just before the tree collapsed on top of

him Harold fell backwards into the increasingly muddy terrain,

    narrowly dodging the tree.

Looking towards the now burning tree Harold spots a smaller figure

behind the flames and smoke. Wiping the mud from his face he begins

to run towards the shadowy figure believing it to be his son. As he

juts foward the hazzyness from his eyes is replaced with a billowing

powder of smoke. Instantly the image of his son turned into a hagged

old, and decreped being. Harold could feel his eyes, body and mind

swaying. Blacking out harold thudded to the ground hitting his head

    hard against the jungle floor.

Waking up however many hours later, Harold opens his eyes in horror

as the creature that had before knocked him out was hovering over him

with a sinister, burnt-out smile. Coming more to, he realizes his has

been trapped and put into a cauldron and is inside some ridged hut

with trinkets and obscene things litter the walls and floor. Harold

scans the room and to his disbelief and agony he sees his boy limp in

    the corner of the room.

As he turns away in horror he hears the hag mumble angrily, her voice

filling up the room with splicing sounds. Her mubles grow into a full

on rage as she runs over to the boy's original location. Harold looks

over to see his son has vanished from the room, and a soft hopefully

    sigh is reliquished.

The boy had stumbled into a town screaming for those present to help him save his father's life. A band of righteous heroes took up the position and the boy lead them to the witch's lair with a nervous haste.

Approaching the lair screams of the man were intensifying, the band of warriors knowing they had to get in that hut and stop the witch. Breaking down the door the men rushed inside to see a grotesque hag with a half-burnt face hovering over a large cauldron with an elderly man inside. The mixture of the pot already starting to froth as the man is slow cooked inside.

Defending herself nervously the witch tried tricking the adventures into thinking the old man was taking a bath. Much to her dismay they could easily see the man was in pain as his skin started to peel.

One man came to find out that the man was being held into the cauldron by some sort of force and when trying to free him he was unsuccessful. Through the commotion the witch named Astria pulled out a slow potion shattering it against the ground. While attempting to flee through the front door as her "guests" were slowed and confused she was pushed to the ground and unable to flee the barred door.

Feverishly she scrambled around her pockets pulling out a powder that could ignite them all in a fire, but seeing the many swords drawn at her she agreed to release the man.

As she moved towards the cauldron the men countered defensively in case she was tricking them. With a swift motion Astria threw the fiery powder into the mixture turning it a deep blood red. With a grin she assured the men that he would soon be "released" and stepped back to watch.

The mixture bubbled and the man stood up seemingly getting better, but much to the dismay of the heroes he was far from coming to. The farmer Harold pointed his finger at the men, his eyes rolling back in his head. In a sudden turn of events Harold had become possessed by some sort of spell. In a deep trance he began mumbling gibberish and chanting random words through a voice that could not have been his own.

Fearing for their lives s a few of the men ran out of the hut unbarring the door and escaping before the chaos unfolded.

In a swift motion the once tame farmer began spurting out flames from his fingertips igniting much of the room.

Almost coming to the conclusion of ending the man the adventurers lifted their swords, but before anyone could strike the young son of the farmer, Samuel, shouted for his father. In an instant Harold collapsed back into the pot, his eyes returning to normal.

During the possession Astria had made her way outside where she was confronted by the boy. She chuckled as she stated that she should end him before hearing footsteps behind her. With a small grin she closed her eyes and said-

    "Just kill me"

The man approaching her from behind her lifted his sword and drove it into the back of the witch. AS she laid down, a lifeless heap, Harold awoke and grinned as he asked for his son.

The heroes assured him that he and his son were going to be alright as they disposed of the witch in the ocean.

Thanking them Harold took his son back into the hut, the boy asking him if he is alright.

    Harold grinned and said-

"Yes son. We are going to be alright now."

Thanks again to all those who participated.

But have we seen the last of Astria?

    20121208182457.png

P.S. Sorry for any mispellings and jumbled up story. However expect a lot more mini-events as I am personally on my month long winter break and I will have much more time to devote to them. AS well as other team members also going on their winter break.

  6. I think you would benefit from building some Nordic style houses.

The reason I say this is because usually once you develope a good Nordic style it carries over to your other builds.

Basically the more styles that you play around with the more adept your builds get.

Right now what I feel your builds are lacking are unique details that make them pop and stand out.

Sure your houses are adequate but they all look similar even if they are different styles.

Your best build is the elven house. I really enjoy that one because its different, and while it could use some polishing It is still eye catching.

If I were you I would build a few things.

    A large jungle ruin,

    A large cliff side home

    A desert outpost

    A unique city wall/ towers.

And add some other larger elven build

Good luck! You have plenty of time before a verdict is drawn.

  7. If I could pose some advice to any aspiring event team builders. You will need to show that you are capable to build many things as well as being well rounded in your builds.

This means that showing 1-2 builds in your application will not suffice.

Be sure to post as many as you can.

Each build that you show helps you and us.

Show that you are good with detailed work: meaning that you can not only build a nicely detaile building but also be able to terraform and tune the fine details of a whole build.

I reccommend showing that you are able to a variety of medieval styles as well. Elven, Human, Other races, shrines, different styles of ruins.

Basically show us that you are a well rounded builder.

  8. I would like to ask for a new progress report with updates on what our priority should be besides finsihing the ruins/tribal camp.

Also we can't forget that there is still a whole nother section to the north.

Personally I think that we should advert all attention to the basic path and seal off the other paths with ice.

That way they can be revealed later on instead of all at once.

Just my thoughts but I have already added a simple medium sized tunnel system in one of the ravines

  9. Being great at dungeons is useful however it is important that a Event Team builder is well rounded. If all you are good at are dungeons then it will make getting builds for you somewhat of a pain.

I would keep working on other builds as well as dungeons
