  1. I am really enjoying your builder app.

However you said that for a lot of those builds you used world edit.

Are you able to produce similar builds without world edit?

I mean obviously you went without on the third one but I was just wondering how much you rely on world edit.

Also it will help you to keep adding more builds, and make sure they are diverse.

    It is looking great though.

  2. • Minecraft name: Brandnewkitten

    • Timezone: Pacific Tine zone

    • What kind of events would you like to introduce to the server?

When I think of what an event needs I first think about the structure of the event an really it comes down to a simple format used in literature.

The event prologue; whether that be written in lore or a character Roleplaying a prolouge with a prerequisite event.

Initial Incident; The moment of time that not only starts the event but also captivates role players to gather together to help shape the event itself.

Rising action; it is unbelievably important that an event has steps in between the start of the event and the biggest moment in the event. The reason for this is to give Roleplayers a deeper and memorable experience for the duration of the event. It is important to note that such actions leading to the event climax do not overpower the pinnacle point of the event.

The Climax; The Climax should be something that intrigues and surprises both the players participating and the coordinators of the event. It doesn't mean this moment will decide the fate of the world but it must include some amount of uncertainty for the player about how the event will effect future events and RP.

    Falling action and Resolution;

It is important that an event not end too soon after the climax of the event or else it might fall flat in the eyes of the player and look dull and underproduced. It is also important that an event have a resolution or ending point even if there isn't a intention to conclude that event strand. A conclusion gives the player a full experience and as an added bonus they will be more likely to involve themselves in future installations of the event strand.

So basically the type of events I wish to introduce to the server are ones that are developed with a dense structure so that the security of the event isn't compromised by a mishap in roleplay.

    •What do you believe makes an event unique;

What makes any event unique is the stability of the event. If the event is structurally immovable, meaning it isn't dependent on player interaction, the event is going to have a totally different output then an event solely based off of player interaction. It is important that we have a mixture of both. While events that are shaped by players produce exceptional roleplay, they are harder for players other than the ones to initially shaped the events story to tap into the event and be able to make it their own. They often become spectators to the event.

Events that are more structurally dependent allow for a larger player base to interact and develop individual stories that inter-relate with all of the player base that get the chance to interact with the event.

Player dependent events are often better for smaller or less crucial events. Player independent events are a great tool to be used when crucial roleplay and/or lore is being introduced into the world. This might include new races, new evil, server changing lore, cataclysms, etc...,

    • As an actor, what can you bring to the Event Team?

Well for beginners I am already an excepted member of the Event Team. I work as a builder and have already helped develope events.

However as an actor it would allow me to fully immerse myself in all things Event Team. The best way to make a well rounded event is being able to work it from all angels. I believe that if we work to making as many people on the Event team able to perform both tasks we, as a team, will be able to achieve more and at a speedier output.

Though I plan to have most of my time devoted to building for the Event Team, being able to jump into an RP situation with the team will inspire more builds from me.

I can paint a canvas, but it is rewarding to be able to interpret your own work.

Meaning I can build great things but being able to roleplay with and around those things will open up new pathways in my mind. This is all about me trying to become a more well rounded person so that I can continue to better the server.

    • Let's say your playing as a wolf. Wandering outside of a village, you smell cake from within a bakery that appears to be unattended. Inside the bakery the cake sits on the counter. What do you do and how would you emote?

The_Wolf lifts a paw hesitantly and places it down into the damp dirt, cringing as the empty pit in his stomach quivers in pain.

The_Wolf looks down towards his motionless mate, her once ivory fur now dull in comparison to the surrounding dirt, shining in the falling rain.

The_Wolf silently cringes in his pain as his stomach stirs again, the sounds mimicking a howl.

The_Wolf slowly crouches down to nuzzle his lifeless mate in a hopeless thought that she might awake.

The_Wolf lets a drop of the rain run down his eye, mimicking a tear.

The_Wolf falls to the ground with a depressed whimper, curling up close to his emasculated love, still feeling the immense pain in his own stomach.

The_Wolf closes his eyes, almost as to give up but suddenly perks up his and lifts his nose into the air.

    The_Wolf catches wind of something.

The_Wolf whimpers as he stands up, still aching.

The_Wolf points his nose, looking for the source of the smell.

The_Wolf spots a light in the distance being blurred by the rain and slowly steps towards it, looking back every few feet to look at his lifeless mate.

The_Wolf lifts his nose as the smell grows stronger and with a new energy starts to hasten his pace towards the warming light.

The_Wolf reaches the the entrance of the life source And without noticing steps inside onto a dark, dry, wood floor.

The_Wolf spots a steaming cake, finding the source of the smell sitting on the furthest counter.

The_Wolf drops his jaw slightly and beings to walk hypnotically towards the cake.

The _Wolf passes two awkwardly placed chairs, not realizing the trip wire attached to the legs of the chairs.

The_Wolf continues to walk until he hears a click.

The_Wolf is whisked up by a thick gray netting, barking and howling while becoming entangled in the trap.

The_Wolf whimpers as the shadows of the building produce a short stubby figure with a menacing grin on it's face.

The_Wolf watches as the figure goes over to the cake and uses his finger to eat a bit of frosting off the top.

The_Wolf begins to shake as the figure grabs a bloody clever off the counter, laughing manically as he approaches the entangled wolf.

    • You're playing as a necromancer hiding out in a graveyard and in search of a relic. Two armor-less players enter the graveyard to revisit an old friend. What do you do to create an experience for them and how do you reveal yourself?

The_Necromancer adjusts his round framed glasses as he stumbles on his own feet, tripping into a jutting rock on a broken gravestone.

The_Necromancer yelps as his shin is smashed into the stone.

The_Necromancer attempts to tend to his shin but notices that his patchwork robe has become lodged into the grave stone.

The _Necromancer pulls softly at his delicate robe as to not rip it but stops to adjust his glasses as he pears onto the other side of the stone looking deeply into the glimmering ruby in the center of the stone.

The_Necromancer stands straight up scratching his head and with a brisk turn to his right he spots two unarmed people watching him with amusement.

Necromancer: "Bububu... how... What? Who... -

    Being cut-off

Person _1: You seem to be in quite the predicament... Necromancer.

The_Necromancer jumps in fright as the man reveals his secret

Necromancer: "Necromancer? Psssh! What?... I am... Not! Psssh!

Person_2 chuckles slightly: "Then why does it say Necromancer Rubert on the back of your robes?"

The_Necromancer sinks down into a depressed state and covers his eyes with his hands.

Necromancer: My mother made me these... Now if you will---

The_Necromancer watches as the two people walk over to the stone and remove the ruby from it's place and start to walk off.

Necromancer: Wait!... What are ... You can't do! Gah!

The_Necromancer attempts to dislodge his patchwork robe one last time but ends up ripping most of the bottom off.

The_Necromancer gawks in disbelief at how his robe now resembles that of a mini skirt.

Necromancer: Wait! That stone! Belongs to---

The_Necromancer trips face first before he can finish, landing on stone and crushing his glasses.

The_Necromancer sits up as he watches the two people galavanting off with the precious ruby artifact.

    Necromancer: Great... Just Peachy great!

    • You're playing as a drunken sailor. You have to tell players rumors of treasure but you must do this accidentally. How would you go about doing this?

The_Sailor awakens on the floor of a tavern.

Sailor: Well now... Hic!... Ain't this here a familiar sight to my ol' ...hic!... Where am I?...

The_Sailor wobbles to the tavern counter in a curved path, obviously still drunk from yesterday's escapades.

    Talking to the bartender-

Sailor: Hey there bud!... Yer know da way to... Ermmm...

The_Sailor gives the bartender a quirky but very angry glance.

Sailor: So ya think you can just... Hic!... Sweet talk me inta tellin' about...

Treasure! The treasure! ... There ain't none! ... And you can't have it! ...

The_Sailor doubles over for a second but pops right up and begins to shout at the bartender

Sailor: Well aren't you just... A wise guy! ... No really! Very hic!... Wise...

Sailor: I am impressed... That that you... Hic!... Found the island! Yes the island... But the riches are mine Oscar!

    Bartender: My name is Frank...

Sailor: Well Oscar It looks like... I am just gonna... Errmmm beat you there.

The_Sailor turns around, and around... And around looking for the door.

Sailor: To the treasure! .... Hic!

The_Sailor takes one last chug of ale before collapsing onto the floor again but unlike last time a small piece of paper falls out of his pocket and onto the floor.

The_Bartender walks over to the collapsed man giggling to himself and reaches for the piece of paper.

The_Bartender opens it slowly and stares at it in awe.

Looking towards the other drunkards in the bar the bartender slowly begins to talk.

Bartender: It... It's a map... The old fool was speaking truth!...

    • Create a small paragraph describing a unique event that could provide roleplay for players.

The main premise of the event is for players to be sent on a mystery adventure to find the source of the missing shoes.

All over the human cities shoes have been going missing. The interesting part is that only the right shoe is missing and is replaced with a bukkit ((get it?)) of milk.

In actuality the shoes are being stolen by a dastardly halfling who has nicknamed himself the MooShoe Bandit! ((See it is funny because halflings can't wear human shoes!!!))

The their himself is on the verge of extreme insanity after consuming large amounts of spoiled milk from his trusty steed! Blomple the over-ripe cow! Together the two are basically unstoppable and plan to steal every right shoe in Asulon. If there are no shoes for people to walk around in then economies will crash! Kingdoms will fall! And puppies with whimper!

Players will be sent on a quest to stop the evil-doer by solving a series of riddles leading to locations until they arrive at his base of operations.

Once there they must fight their way through the angered cows until they reach the thief and are able to stop his plan of mass destruction!

Is this the end of Asulon as we know it? DunDunDun!

  3. Oh I see... Trying to take the jobs off of us hard working builders. So ya think you can just come in here and post a pic or two and... Kablam!!!

I would love to build with Benny though as I like the detailed nature of these builds

    *insert soft snotty claps*

Yes yes... Indeed I do support this application.

It's also nice because you are already on the team

  4. So to do a spoiler all you need to know are two commands;

    The first command is [.spoiler]

Without the period mark of course.

Then you put whatever you want in the spoiler after that command.

To close off a spoiler use the command [./spoiler]

    Again, without the period mark.

    If done correctly it should look a little like this;

    OMGERD! A spoiler!

    cutememe.jpg

  5. I commend the fact that you have placed your builds on a flat world save. It how's that you are not afraid to hide your builds with terrain.

However it would be helpful to see a large mixture of both.

Also it would be nice to see a larger build. A larger build shows that you can handle a project by yourself and that you don't new to be babysat.

I like the fact that your builds show story. They have character and it can be visibly seen.

However your builds lack detail and are a little monotonous to look at which may come from lack of inspiration.

My advice is to go look up a bunch of concept art. Look at the features on the roof and the overall shapes that the art offers you. Then try your best to apply what you see into a minecraft form. If it doesn't work out don't destroy it. Leave it for reference for your next build.

Basically just build, build, build, build!!!! Practice makes perfect and all that mumbo jumbo.

  6. My opinion is constructive. Maybe not to you but to others who read this application and want to know what not to do.

How could one accept an application that shows little proof of any builds.

My advice to you is to build on a singleplayer world.

That way it is just you showing us builds that just you have built.

Distuth used the word "risk" which I like.

Anyone could easily abuse such a position.

It is your job to use this application to show us you are passionate.

  7. I have a problem with the lack of confidence in some of your builds. If you are going to tell us they suck then you are already giving up. Why put a build on an application that you aren't proud of? You should only want to show us your best qualities. Instead we will focus on your worst ones since that is where the focus is drawn.

    Things you should do:

    Remove builds you don't like

Put the pictures on the application instead of linking them.

Meaning out them in a spoiler so it looks nice.

    Keep building more builds!

Don't write snarky or negative things about your builds. It makes it seem like you lack confidence and that is what the ET is all about.

Write lore for your builds. A good build should have good lore.

  8. The problem in most of your builds is the fact that the build is telling too much story to follow. It is so condensed with feathered materials that it blends to none of its surroundings... This is espiacally true in your desert and oasis builds.

A build should seemessly blend into where it is built or the area built around it should be terraformed...

The build shouldn't stop at the structure. The land around it is just as important if not even more important.

The tavern looks too modern and would serve little purpose on a RP server...

While the balloon ship is interesting it isn't viable on LOTC.

Build and show things that would comfortably fit into the world of LOTC. It is the most important skill as a ET builder.

Personally if I am not shown the ability to blend and adapt builds to an rpish enviroment and landscape I would not support this app.

But don't give up. Just keep building. The best thing you can do is practice!

  9. As an Event Team builder I would love to work with you on this event. You have my support... There is some great RP to come from this, and it still open enough to allow the lore to evolve and shape to the player base.

    Excellent idea...

Now let us hope others find it just as intriguing.

  10. No! Not at all and I meant what I said in a very gentle manner. It's just that there isn't a point to a private lot unless you do something with it. So if you do something with it and just leave it then you are essentially leaving a hole in all things RP. The transfer of land is needed in order to continue the fluidity of the world.

I am deeply sorry if my before comment offended. I should have explained my opinion with care.
