  1. While the grammar might be lacking I do believe you could make an excellent addition to the team... It is obvious that people enjoy your RP so amazing grammar or not you produce good material.

I just don't know how the community as a whole will treat you...

    But you have my support

  2. First off nothing is personal. I am critiquing because I want to see people succeed.

So one thing that caught my eye was the framework on the temple. It melds together quite nicely in your texture pack and I find that to be really important.

I also commend you on the ship because it is big and ships are/difficult/ to build. I would like to see a completed sail just because I believe the sail of a ship shows the most personality in the build.

I also don't find the gatehouse/walls/tower to be terrible... It just doesn't seem to show off enough in the area of being unique.

The homes you built are decent and definitely usable.

The tower in the Damon sanctuary build is awkward and looks top heavy or maybe just too short...

The world edit tree looks awkward because it looks like it is world edited... It needs some love with a smoother. Maybe light it up as well.

The video of your town was decent but again the homes weren't "special." I didn't get the "I need to go visit this place!" vibe. However the homes all followed a style but still varied in build which is nice.

I think overall more attention needs to be spent dealing with the details of your builds.

Also a lot of what the team does deals with aching ruins. Maybe build a couple different ruined structures.

I think you have the patience and drive to be on this team but you need some more practice.

Maybe look at some of the other accepted apps to get an idea of what building techniques the team is looking for.

    Good luck!

  3. :o Oh my! Native! You artist you :)

Not at this moment but in time I want to develop a quest involving a volcanic island and a bunch of ruins.

I will get to work compiling things for this... Expect a post in 3 weeks. I say 3 weeks because I am about to go on a trip.

Multiverse is a server tool right? One that allows you to transfer to another map in game?

  4. *walks up to the strange man yelling words at Prince Isirack's home and chuckles*

The house already has a new owner... Sold maybe/hmm/two months ago? Yea this home was sold long ago...

*chuckles before turning around and walking to his mansion of a home, still contemplating a remodel.*

  5. Adding things like ruins will help you. Also make a bigger build.

What I say bigger I don't mean you should go and build a huge ginormous wall because that is not needed... Show a collection of smaller builds all put together. It can be nice to see how you are able to meld things together. Also it helps when the terrain isn't totally flat.

Show how you can transform landscape into something unique and fantasy like! :D

  6. If I were you I would go through accepted builder applications to try to expand your own.

When I was applying I was told that having a wide variety of builds would help me out.

A couple different housing styles. Example: Elven and Nordic or Human.

A couple different types of ruins:

    Wooden structure/forest ruins,

    Medival stone/cave ruins

    Sand/sandstone/desert ruins.

Also include a completed or highly detailed large project.

    Example:

    A city or an outpost.

    Large terraform.

    Maybe a war ship.

Small projects are needed such as.

    Watch towers,

    Camps,

    Smaller ruins.

You don't have to write out a story for each of your builds but having a story for each of them in your mind will help you develope the build in a more rp-ish manor.

Don't think that you are building something to get accepted, build to tell a story. As builders we let the blocks form their own words.

When selecting pictures for an app you can use the surrounding area to enhance your build. Instead of building on a flat land build on a mountain. Show that you can deal with tricky enviroments.

Hope this helps you and whoever else reads it!

    Good luck!

  7. Ok! Everyone who is interested in a new map should google "Eldaria".

It is the most beautiful custom map I have ever seen as is where most of my builds take place. Also the amount of condensed RP on this map would shoot up... It is smaller than Asulon and unique in every corner... While I personally won't be finished with Asulon for a long time I could definitely see a map like this working for our server.

    Check it out.

    "Eldaria"

  8. Thank you a ton! I will be sure to keep adding on to it. Also be sure to keep an eye out for my canyon outposts updates as it is my main build. I have already added a ton of new stuff to it! Also I have three other builds that I am working on. A desert ruins, a forest ruins, and a smaller cliff top ruins!

If you have any requests that you think might benefit my application please let me know :)

  9. (( Me is sad to see how your feelings for the children of the elder tree have soured... I hope Warden Iat has done nothing to encourage such distraught emotions in this character :( it pains me to see any of Normandor's citizens feel they have been wronged.))

  10. Minecraft name: Brandnewkitten

RP Character: Iatrilemar Elervathar. High Elf.

    Timezone: Pacific Time Zone. Oregon.

What is your favorite building style?: I favorite building style to work with in Asulon is elven. I love wooden architecture and how it can seamlessly mold into the flora and landscape around it. I also enjoy carving things into the earth. It is the closest thing minecraft has to scuplting. I can build symmetrically but it is much more fun to let my builds shape themselves.

What are some of your most treasured builds? (screenshots if possible):

Unfortunately before I started playing on LOTC I never kept screenshots of my builds and the save are long gone by now. However I did just finish a few elven homes that I am quite pleased with.

Here are some photos of the elven home:

I am also quite pleased with my Normandor Home which I built from the ground up.

    Future developments of the outpost.20120714162332.png

Please provide screenshots of any medieval builds strictly you have built and a description of each:

    Cliff-side Ruins

*You stand at the edge of a deep gorge in awe at the structure in front of you. The mountain side seems to have decayed to the point that the ruins held within have started to chip away into the river below. By the looks of the architecture it seems to be some sort of dwarven outpost. You ponder at how the dwarves could have been so careless in their regard for the integrity of the mountain. It seems there was once a bridge connecting the exposed cavern to your side of the plateau but it has long crumbled away. Even the stone exterior of the cave has started to fall down below.

You unhook the rope from your back and without another thought descend the gorge in hope of scaling the other side.

After what seemed like the whole day you finally achieve the day's goal of venturing to the other side. Noticing the rising moon you quickly seek refuge into the ruins. With every step you wonder if the whole place might just collapse to keep you it's prisoner. You decide it is best not to explore the unsound ruins.

After setting up camp and starting the fire you finally start to snuggle in to the cold gitty stone against your back.

... You hear faint whispers from the shadows of the corridors.

... You do not notice but your breath quickens as the air around you grows cold and damp.

... You let put a scream at the moment your fire is blown out by a wind sweeping in from the corridor.

... The halls of the ruins are pitch black and you decide you have overstayed your welcome.

After collecting your things you pick up your bag in a hurry to escape the crumbling ruins.

Upon exiting you cannot help but glance over your shoulder's...

    And there you see them.

Two white eyes standing in the distant corridor of the ruins, looking at you with cold, heartless, intent.

Your eyes widen as you drop the bag you were clutching in your hands.

Without thought or emotion you simply walk back in to the ruins.

    Towards those eyes.

((Sorry I couldn't resist that bit of fun. These are the ruins of a dwarven outpost that used to be embedded into the mountain side. Through the years of quakes and fault shifts the outpost is emerging and crumbling away into the gorge below. Inside are remnants of a lush and royal purple carpet which have long turned into dust and dirt. Many of the corridors have been caved in while the rest remain a mystery.))

    Humble Nordic Village ruins:

*The terrain is scorched by the memory of a great fire.

This once beautiful isolated village is now the skeleton of it's former self.

It is not known if any of it's occupants remain alive but it is assumed that they have all long perished due.

The strange scares on the land are unlike any as they seem to emit dark fumes.

What happened to this village remains a mystery.*

    20120715182119.png

    20120715182110.png

*As the moon rises above, you hear faint whispers sweeping through the village.

You dismiss it as the wind and continue on.*

    20120715182219.png

    20120715182242.png

*The whispers grow louder as you enter this home. Dirt and wood debris covers must of the surface, and a stream of water flows through the home.*

    20120715182247.png

*Spotting the dried blood lining the floors you grow even more uncomfortable. You notice the trail leading down a secret staircase and going against your better judgement you decide to descend the steps following the faint whispers.*

After walking down into what you thought might be a cellar you find a cavern with mossy stone lining a pathway.* 20120715182256.png

*Following the continuous trail of blood you find another set of stairs to descend. Being so wrapped up in the mystery of this tunnel you don't even notice the whispers growing louder as you go deeper and deeper into the cavern.*

    20120715182312.png

*Reaching the bottom you find a broken obelisk with a sign attached to it. You try to make out the words on the sign:

    Th/ .de d is

    ,on/e .Lo\r

    \ Ib e //s.

*Taking a step forward to examine the sign further you hear a crushing sound. Looking down you find what you stepped on and to your horror it is the skeletal remains of someone. Quickly you notice half a dozen more bodies and the blood staining the entire room. You turn to exit and notice that the whispers have now grown into a chant and are coming through the tunnels in your direction.

...Unannounced to you behind you the obelisk opens up a portal.

You turn around as a hand comes forth from the portal.

    ....

    Volcano Ruins:

Also I recently have been playing on a friend's server that has gorgeous terrain. I found a lot of inspiration in this map and especially this one volcano. I decided to add some character to the volcano by building ruins onto it's slopes.

NOTE: I do not claim to have built this volcano because I didn't. I did however build all of the ruins by myself

Here are some pictures of the volcano ruins:

As a builder, what makes you unique and stand out from the crowd?:

I am nit picky about details and make sure that my smallest creations look pristine. I also don't like laying out my structures beforehand and allow my builds to grow in a natural, flowing way. I also believe that my builds do not look like any other with their unique shapes. In the end my organic building style tends to live me with a satisfied piece of art.

How capable are you of building with the least amount of preparation as possible? If I were to ask you to construct the remains of an ancient settlement, would you be able to handle it on the spot without being babysat? (there is no right or wrong answer):

As you can see in my medieval ruins I am capable of creating a structure with a story behind it. I would love to work with other builders to build a thing such as an ancient settlement but I do not need someone to watch over my should for me. I am certain my abilities as a builder will be well suited for this position.

    Additional details:

LOTC has opened up my creative spirit once again and I just want to be able to give the community something back in return for their support and times spent having amazing RP. I hope that my passion for this community will be seen through my future builds.

Thank you for taking your time to read this. Please feel free to comment with some feedback. It would be greatly appreciated.
