    The intention of the Sons of Petra is to create a fantasy-leaning military that celebrates the rich history of human roleplay on the server. If you are interested in being in a military force that honors real human characters of the past, with a focus on trying to have your character's name go down in history, this is the military for you. We want every character to be badass.  

     

    At the same time, our goal is also to create an inclusive environment for people to have fun but also take the server/RP when need be. We allow people to jump around, have fun among friends, but when RP heats up and is serious there is an expectation that you will participate in character. If you are looking for a group that is both serious when need be and lighthearted where you should be, you will be a great fit for the Sons of Petra. (girls allowed btw, son’s and daughters of Petra just isn’t a dope name)

    The principles of the Sons of Petra are simple.

     

    1. Dignity in Death - If you live a life worth living, you have no reason to fear death.

    2. Honor among Brothers - Our unity is our greatest strength.

    3. Be Badass - We are not here to cower, we are not here to fear, we are here to have the world know our name.

    Ranking Structure: 

     

    High Command:

     

    Commander - Leader of the Sons of Petra. Command of all military matters are final. They answer directly to the sovereign of the Commonwealth.

     

    Deputy Commander - Specialized rank, second in command only to the commander. While there may be more than a single deputy commander they have final say in all matters in the absence of the Commander.

     

    Officer: 

     

    Lieutenant -  Responsible for training and drilling the troops. They have proven leadership and will ensure that the Commander and Deputy Commander’s commands are done.


     

    Sergeant - Responsible for assisting the Lieutenant and high command with training and drilling troops. They report directly to the Lieutenants and ensure that those who join are keeping the standards of the Sons. 

     

    Rank-and-File:

     

    Bannerman - They have earned their skulls and are allowed to don the skull of the Sons. 

     

    Footman - Someone who has passed the initiation process and is officially a member of the Sons of Petra. 

     

    Petra Patrol - Those who wish to join must go through an initiation process before they earn their skulls.

    In order to ensure better treatment of the Peasants of Petra, Barrett has created a more perfect union to stand up for peasant rights in the Commonwealth. To prevent the wanton abuse of the working class from the gentry and nobility he wishes to organize the peasant’s of the realm into a political union to give them better collective bargaining. 

     

    Since the first man declared himself a king, peasant blood has been spilled to form kingdoms, maintain wealth and continue the patriarchal system that has led to domination of the Commonfolk. With very little education, Barrett has decided to take a stand and has created the Peasant Union of Petra, or PUP. 

     

    GOALS OF THE PUP:

     

    • Have a PUP representative in every level of Government.

    • Lower taxes for members of PUP.

    • Special PUP only events.

    • Prevention of Peasants and PUP members from the patriarchal & tyrannical systematic abuse levied by the Gentry & Nobility.

    as old as the server is, and as old as some of the playerbase is, i would expect the currency of time to be valued above all else. a lot of us are in college, have lives, jobs, etc (and ik someone below is going to subironically quote this section and go HAHA no we dont we play MINECRAFT so stfu noob) and honestly i cbf'd to run around settlement to settlement just to find rp, after 30 mins to an hour of searching for it during the time i log on

     

    oh and this isn't even addressing the thrilling rp you get when you're stopped on the roads and robbed into an 8 hour crp fight or alternatively get clicked to death which is the most epic char development you'll ever get omg ebin:DDDDD

     

    fast travels r the great equalizer, cause at least then you can efficiently find rp and not deal with wasting ur time 

     

    edit: take away staffs ability to /warp and /tp for a month and you'll never hear about an lotc without fast travel again

    I've never thought about that, but that definitely makes sense.

    road RP is a dead dream. when RP is centralized in nation capitals and settlements, we should be allowing players the easiest tools to access that RP, not force it down players' throats

    I agree, we just make it as easy as possible for people to RP. It takes a lot of work to create RP on the server.

    I appreciate your honesty.

     

    If a place decides to be in the middle of nowhere, they will still get less natural foot traffic than a place that's right next to one of the hubs. However, you don't always have the decision of where you are going to settle. Sometimes you're given land under someone for a village or town, fast travels create a slight equalizer, where I still have to put in more work to get people to want to come into my fast travel but a "hey it will take you 5 minutes to get here" instead of "20-30 minutes."

     

    Plus it reduces the super painful feeling of traveling for 20 minutes to find out a place doesn't have anyone to RP with. (Lots of people log off after this).

    as for new players and horses - i believe one should perhaps be given for a temporary time? like while you have the pink name tag, you also have a horse available at all times so you can easily get from point A to B just by following road signs on your horse

    We have fast travels right now and i've dealt with bandit RP twice in the last two days. Bandits don't create much RP on the server, settlements by and far are the great majority of the server's activity. We should be promoting what works.
