  1. ( yea rp reasoning still holds. The orcs wish to monitor all prices in the region and see you as bad compietion. They will march as they still want the stall. )
  2. Yup, on some level I was trolling. But it is something that new players should be aware of in some form, because its something far worse than power/metagaming. ( this is crackerjack)
  3. ( It will be more Aegis style conflict with spontaneous and engaging skirmishes, something which I know other parts of the server wish to indulge in, rather then the atypical war claim style conflict. The main concept of the war SHOULD be orc and dwarves, having more alliances and having dozens of humans engage and be the majority would ruin the conflict but it would be a bit of a shame if we excluded the rest of the server.)
  4. (more RP reasoning) Gorgul, understanding the commands of the Rex, sallies out to meet his father. As he crosses the warm desert sands, thoughts of the dwarves and orcish war come to his mind. The dwarves had never held much honor, raiding and insulting the orcs, regarding them as carpets, mindless beasts that solely desired war, and only purpose in life was to adorn dwarven halls. He thought to himself of how an Orc could even -be- a carpet, its hide much to thick to provide solace to the toes of a weary traveler. He thought of the brash dwarves, who neglected mutual coexistence and training one another as warriors, instead invoking wrath and constant warfare upon Orcs who reciprocated. Their negligence and abuse of their given lands by creating city upon city had angered Gorgul, wasting the bearings of the earth and going against the teachings of Krug. The war had taken its toll with both sides suffering constantly from raids, but never had the war-horns been rung, the banners held up high. Gorgul knew it was time to indulge in an Orcish campaign. The dwarves and orcs had been in war far too long, and now was the time for conquests, pillages, sieges. It was time to see which race of warriors truly had honor on the battlefield. It was time for proving honor. Gorgul speaks words with his father, who gleefully summons his Krughai. Together, they begin to train and spar, ready to invoke an Orcish wrath upon the dwarves who have constantly brought little honor to the field of battle. War horns are sounded throughout the Uzg, and the dwarves heed the call miles away. They too prepare for war, a bitter war, which will dictate the future of the region for many, many years.

  7. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Havenok How old are you?: 16 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Shouldn't be too horrid. You'll find out soon enough. ;) Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I always though this point of the application was kind of silly. Not like I'm here to bond with the app team. But anywho, I enjoy gaming as most people here do, in my crunch time for exams, and hope to get some of that stress out through some good RP. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: A lot. Probably a couple of hours a day, and a big chunk of time on weekends. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I've roleplayed on a variety of minecraft servers prior, along with in games both online and offline. It's when one rids oneself of all earthly notations, assuming the role of a fictional character, and assuming HIS or HER interests, over ones on. Through this, one can create an immersion , a proper atmosphere for one's character to grow and cultivate from the actions of others and the environment. Pleasure can be derived from watching characters blossom and wither, and simply assuming said role and putting yourself in someone elses shoes. I enjoy it a lot to experience perspective. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: As forementioned, I've roleplayed in many of my games. Minecraft is my biggest, playing on a variety of MC servers in my free time, though few have -real- roleplay that is devoid of metagaming and powergaming. In traditional games, most notable RPG's, I like to put myself into the role of my character and give myself both strength and weakness, to enjoy myself. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is the punishable offense of abusing out of character information to one's benefit. Examples include, after having a long TS chat with someone and one finds out that this someone is going to a roll a bandit character, to go to your king and warn off a bandit who will begin to rob his kingdom. The most common example of this in RP is assuming someone's name when one does not know. While this may seem negligible, it irks me because it can have severe detriment on RP. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Powergaming is the punishable offense of assuming beyond your characters limitations, most often to overpower a foe. Often attributed to munchkining, those who powergame often seek to "win" an RP scenario, overpower all their foes and triumph. This is horrible roleplay and has severe impact on the atmosphere of the game, as munchkining to solely win makes a character seem artificial and has bad consequences on peers. What do you expect this server will be like?: Of what I've seen on the forums, one giant empire pushing and bullying around others while people whine of lack of unity and displaced persons spread across the map. But LotC isn't the number 1 RP server for a reason, so I expect a fair amount of fun. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I'd like to keep this more on the confidential side, but I will say I left many due to a lack of proper RP. Rife with metagaming and powergaming, I often myself bored and unable to cope with the constant errors people would commit to. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Of course. How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: I learned about this server, then worked out my character with a friend, austinpowers999. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No sir. Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): Will do. In-Character: Character Name: Gorgul'Gorkil What Race are you?: Orc What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): N/A Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): A bumbling youngling of an Orc, Gorgul hasn't had much life experience. Birthed by a momentary union of passion by his father, Thore'Gorkil and an undisclosed female Orc, Gorgul was given to his irresponsible father to manage. Gorgul's learned from his father a few things: Klomp is good, Krug is good, Uruk is good, Luzkh is good, and Skah is bad. Thore has taught Gorgul some naughty language, and while Gorgul is a bit mischevious, he has a fierce desire to learn from all of his orc brethern. A young cub of five years, who can hobble about and can only carry a wood axe to spar, could very well perish in the War Uzg. But he has shown passion and resolve, passing the trials to earn his title as Gorkil, by "klomping" a scorpion by simply stepping on it. Gorgul's mainly been picking up poor habits from his father, cursing and acting like a fool. He went missing for nearly a week, getting by through hunting small chickens and getting support from sympathetic travelers. Returning every night to the Cloud Temple to rest under the monks watchful gaze, he found his life exploring the wilds fun, and even picked up on a few things he would never learned confined to the War Uzg. However, as all fathers do, good or bad, Thore set out to find his son, and it didn't take long to find him taking a snooze at the Cloud Temple. Thore picked him from the scruff of his neck, and off the went, back to the War Uzg. Gorgul seeks to age, mature, and one day become a strong fighter his father is proud of. Already, he has been sparring with his father, and soon will fight with a proper stone axe. What is your Character's ambitions?: Gorgul is older than a toddler, but still not quite a teenager yet (in Orcish growth cycles). Probably with the mind and body of a seven or eight year old human, but with the education of a three or four year old human, Gorgul mainly thinks "big". His imagination is wide, and he often thinks of himself as the next rex, as he often "beats" his father in their friendly klomps (or so he thinks). All he has learned so far is a bit with his axe, and hopefully through the influence of other Orcs, he will pick up more traits. A big portion of his ambition derives from his desire to make his clan proud. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): At the moment, an Axe. Gorgul only really knows how to fight as of yet, and enjoys fighting with an axe to train and become stronger. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Being a young Orc of five or six, Gorgul isn't very "skilled". He's active and fit, and a healthy growing boy, but he's mastered very little. All his father has taught him so far is how to fight with an axe, and while Gorgul is making progress in his training, Thore has given Gorgul hints to pick up another trait in the future. Whether it being mining, archery, fishing or wrestling to further make him a better fighter, Gorgul will pick up traits from his environment and his peers, who will have a great influence on his budding mind. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/62/20120520235102.png/ Other Information about your Character: As you can tell, he's only five or six in RP. He will age quickly though, nearly on the onset of his Orcish puberty, which ends at roughly fifteen. I will be RPing this transition quite quickly, becoming a youth, teenager, and even adult by around the time of the year cycle, which apparently is 3.75 days. He would become a teenager/youth at roughly 10, so in 2-3 weeks +, and then after another 2-3 weeks+, at around 15-16 become an adult. While child RP may be only for the better roleplayers, I believe I can assume this role with ease, and do not plan to hold my char to this young age for long. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Gorgul, raised in the Gorkil clan, where halflings are traditionally served as food, over recognized as a people, does not pay much mind to it. While his young mind believes that halflings are still somewhat of a people, he just hobbles along, too small and insignificant for the armed warriors to make much notice of. He has a jovial chat with one of the monks, and while he does not have full grasp of Blah, let alone common, he tells the monk that the "squeal" is getting "flattened". The monk, having some understanding, gathers a few vagabonds and marches to stop the injustice, but it is far too late. The halfling has been mugged but unharmed, and Gorgul scratches his bald, childish head, wondering how the halfling is still alive. To Gorgul, it doesn't make sense why the halfling didn't fight back and "klomp" to prove his strength to the bandits. But Gorgul doesn't think too much of it, and his father Thore, immediatly catches up to him and hauls him back home to the War Uzg. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Gorgul, probably off on a tidy little adventure to himself, with Thore bumbling about to try and find him, speaks to the merchant. "Mi wub Luzk!" says Gorgul cheerfully, and the merchant, perplexed by his blah, shrugs at him. Gorgul, yells at once again "Mi wub Lusk!" and the merchant gives him a stern glare and replies back with "Common, orc-child. Don't speak your infernal tongue." Gorgul, a bit shocked by the merchant's stern reply, begins to pout and cry, yelling "Lusk, lusk, lusk!" The merchant pulls out a small handaxe, and mutters "You keep this up and I'll get the guards to throw you outta the city! I bleedin' hate your folk!" Gorgul, noticing the axe over all, stops pouting and jumps up and down, pointing at the axe and saying "Yub, lusk! Mi wub Lusk!" The merchant, still visibly angry, tells Gorgul to move out of the way and leave him in peace. Gorgul refuses to move without getting an axe, and finally the merchant hands it to him begrudgeingly, and he dances about, happy and content. He swings it, mimicking the rex and his father while yelling out high pitched war cries. The merchant puts his palm to his face, as he shakes his head at the orc's "hyahs." Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Gorgul stumbles across this hut as he explores the Orcish deserts. Peering inside, he sees some iron, but takes full notice of the "zult". He attempts to lift it, but he can barely keep it off the ground, a strong Orcish blade unfit for a child like him. He grunts in frustration, kicking the sword, calling it "Nubosh" for not fitting Gorgul. He takes a single iron ingot, to give to his popo as a gift, later, and stumbles out, smiling as he explores the deserts. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Gorgul, being hungry, immediately squeals for food. The traders, feeling sympathy for the ragged and famished orc-ling, toss him some leftovers of the evening meal. Gorgul eats with ferocity, being a growing boy, he needs his nutrients. The traders watch with awe, never seeing an Orc eat so much, and Gorgul laughs at them. Feeling cocky, he challenges one of them to a "klomp", and the traders, confused, laugh at his request. He takes out his small wooden axe, and the traders understand his plea soon enough. They heartily agree to challenge the young Orc for a friendly spar, and while Gorgul probably will get defeated by the much wiser and older traders, he enjoys the spirit of the klomp nonetheless. After a long day of klomping, Gorgul waves bye-bye to his new-found friends, learning more and more from the world around him. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: While Gorgul would gladly participate in this battle, his father hoists him up from below, and rests him on his shoulder. He tells Gorgul that he is far too young to be fighting the iron-clad bandits occupying the road, and tells him to wait with the other women and children who are blockaded from the road. Gorgul interacts with the children, and suprises them with his values of honor and honesty compared to the human traditional ones. When the battle commences, as the children watch in horror as their fathers battle against the bandits, Gorgul cheers on Thore, wishing for a good klomp to watch and learn from. The other children look puzzled at Gorgul's enthusiasm at watching his father in a near-death situation, but Gorgul does not mind. Deep-down, Gorgul does feel a bit worried as he loves his father-so, despite his poor influence, but Gorgul knows that Krug will reveal himself in the Targoth Thore.
