Did anyone direct you to joining, if so who: No I'm looking for a job and a home and found Solace. 5. (Answer in rp format what you do) - A man is walking down a street in fine silks and exotic velvet, running up to him you see two goblins and a orc about to corner him in a dark alley by the tavern. You hear a yelp and rush in to find him dead, the three running down the alley. Atholos first tells a nearby citizen to alert the authorities and begins to chase the two goblins and the orc. All the while chasing the criminals he is shooting them with his longbow trying to injure them so they can no longer run from justice. Shooting the orc in the lower back Atholos and continues to pursue the other two goblins. He begins to gain on the goblins and hits one in the left leg disabling him. When Atholos is withing 8 meters of the last goblin he pulls out his trusty throwing knives and hits the last goblin in the right shoulder sending him plummeting to the ground. After finally getting to catch his breath the guards come and take the goblins and the orc away. 7. I, Atholos, Swear upon my honor that I will uphold the peace and security of my lord, James Hightower and Lancel Hightower, and keep them safe. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: This is going to be my first year homeschooled after going to school my whole life. I love to play baseball for my school district, and I play softball in a wreck league in the fall. I am a semi-hardcore gamer and love playing Minecraft and a few other PC games. I plan to go to college and major in electronic engineering (specifically tele-communications). Give a definition of what it means to you: I beleive roleplaying is an effort to be or accomplish what we cannot in the real world and live what some would call a life we dream of. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've been in a few plays at school and I love to read books similar to the setting of LOTC. (frowned upon in LOTC) In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power emoting is when you force yourself as the victor of a roleplaying situation and not giving the other a chance to respond or react.(also frowned upon in LOTC) What do you expect this server will be like?: A chance to be the person I could never be in the real world. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on a vanilla server for about a year and a half but it shut down a few days ago because a lack of funding and players. If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have made 2 before but they were both quite some time ago so they are definately gone. But I recently decided to try whatever it takes to get on LOTC. In-Character: Character Name: Atholos What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Atholos's father, Thor, was once one of the founders of the Ranger Corps and a great one. Thor had trained most of the Rangers at that time and after serving for 30 years he left the corps, but only he and one other knew why. The only other one who knew why Thor left was Atholos's mother, a farmer from Oren. Thor had had a son in secret afraid of one of his enemies finding out and killing Atholos. As Atholos grew older Thor trained him in the ways of a Ranger and soon became as his father was in knowledge of nature and her secrets. Atholos's mother died in child birth so Thor had to raise Atholos alone in a small cottage in the Wild. Atholos scarcely saw anyone but his father until a very terrible thing happened. Atholos was off getting some water from a nearby fresh water stream when he heard the most bone-chilling noise that he had never heard before. It was an Orc raiding party that had spotted Atholos's Cottage. He heard their war cry then heard some of them screem bloody murder and he knew that his now 58 year old father had killed some but wouldn't last long. Atholos ran to the cottage with all he had in his body but it was too late. The cottage was burned to a crisp with nothing left. Behind a few rocks with his longbow in hand lay Thor dying to a spear which had impaled him through his left lung nearly hitting his heart. About 20 meters away were about a dozen dead orcs all with arrows protruding out of their chests. With Thors last dying breath he handed his sword and longbow to Atholos. Then he quietly whispered to Atholos to go to Oren and seek out the leader of the Ranger Corps and he will find refuge. And Thor was dead. After gathering what was left that he could carry the young, eager, and curios man headed to Oren. What are your Character's ambitions?: Atholos hopes to join the Ranger corps as his father did. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A longbow What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Atholos decides it is best to save the poor halfling from being robbed. He goes from bush to bush throwing rocks at the warriors to make them confused. He confuses the warriors just long enough for the halfling to get away with his money. The halfling later finds Atholos and thanks him for his good deed and offers Atholos some money. But humbly Atholos denys it and goes on with his journeys. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Atholos greets the man kindly and says he is but a waery traveler. Atholos then helps the merchant with lifting some items after he sees the man stumbling with it. The man thanks Atholos and gives him a few minas for his kindness. Then Atholos returns to his journey. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Atholos looks around the hut to see if there is any sign of someone or possibly an owner then checks to see if the stove is still warm. It is cold and musn't have been used in a very long time. He decides he shouldn't take it because it may still belong to someone else and he wouldn't want someone doing the same to him. So Atholos left and went about his business in the wilds. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? (It is very unlikely for someone as knowledgable about nature to go hungry and get lost.) Atholos greets them using the small amount of the language he knows and asks for a place to stay in return for a few coins. They give him a small bed and Atholos leaves the next morning thanking them for the stay. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Atholos regretfully decides to help the guard because it is the right thing to do and protect the town. But does not accept the reward after killing several of the bandits because it is the first time he has taken a life from another man. Atholos later realizes that they had to be punished, although he prefered it had not of been with their lives, otherwise they would have kept on robbing, murdering and other terrible things.
