  1. ((Let us be nice, the intention was good, the effort was there. Let us teach and not just critiscize each other, perhaps someone could provide what the full letter would have been in Evlish? Not saying anyone was mean, just that we have enough stone throwing going around already.)) Lithimis reads the note and softly mumbles to himself. The roads do seem dangerous as of late, perhaps there will be safer travel soon and ways unseen before may just appear. Nature has a way of taking care of the mali.
  2. Foreman Lithimis walks up to the board and reads the letter that is pinned. He studies the words for a moment and then steps back. "Clear concise criticism, I can respect that. Obviously I am not sure if this one display would represent the Sentinels as a whole, or it may be a correct evaluation. It could have just been a fresh group of brand new recruits, which would be the reason for the poor demonstration. I could not agree more with this "Treemail" fellow that the Sentinels are in need of reform. I do know they are currently undergoing a major change. It will take time, but I hope not too long though. This fellow seems to have a good understanding of what good tactics should look like, I would hope that he has the courage to step forward and try and enact change and help from within and not just continue to observe from the outside, but none the less, I hope the Sentinels take this as good constructive feedback and not just rip it down to discard it but rather take it for an idea of how to better themselves. I do know someone that knows this "Treemail" fellow, perhaps a meeting can be arranged."
  3. Assistant Foreman Lithimis walks into the Hall of Labor, his clothes covered in dirt. He looks as if he has not slept for days. He pulls a piece out a piece of paper and posts a note on one of the many notice boards within the Hall. New job openings are currently available, limited positions. 1. Cattle Farmer - individuals needed to work with the livestock in the pasture. 2. Chicken Farmer - individuals needed for work in the chicken house. 3. Hunter - Individuals needed to venture out and bring back resources from the wilds. 4. Merchants - Hiring two merchants to run two small stalls in the market area. You will be paid a small flat rate and commission. ((Teamspeak and skype required)) The Hall of Labor will soon be purchasing various things from the citizens in addition to the quotas being turned in. This will allow those with jobs a way to earn extra Malins and those without jobs a way to exchange some items they have for Malins. The list of items we will be purchasing will change frequently so check back often. They will be posted ((in game only)) here in the Hall. Housing can be obtained from the Treasury Office which is conveniently located near the Hall.
  4. Assistant Foreman Lithimis strolls by the board on one of his many trips around the city to check on things and glances over to see a note. He stops to read it. "Hmmm, yes, constant change on our policies is a bad thing I must agree, continued change within our Councils does make things difficult. Yes, yes. It was hard on everyone to pick up and leave for a new home, change was expected though. These last few weeks have been a bit rough and tiring for all. Both Councils have put in many many hours trying to make things suitable for the citizens. I am hoping things start to stable out in the very near future." He begins to read the bottom part of the note, stopping half way and looking to the bottom for the signature. "Finally, someone gets it." Lithimis' tired face turns to a brief smile for a moment. "Tahar, hmm, I know that name. Yes, he is one of our harder workers in the Hall. Indeed, a stout laborer and intelligent too it seems. He might just find himself with a bonus from my own coin purse indeed." He finishes reading the note and then turns and continues his trip ending up at the Hall of Labor. He stops for a moment to look around at how much for the good it has changed in a short time here, but quickly hears the footsteps of so many starting to arrive, all of them ready to collect their wages that they have been paid just recently. "Today will be a good day."
  5. Lithimis is sitting at his desk in the Hall of Labor working on the log book for quotas and glances up at the poster on the Sentinel bulletin board nearby. He mumbles to himself as he often does "I wonder how the High Commander would feel about having a Sentinel or two in the Hall on a regular basis attempting to recruit new Initiates. Many see the poster, but having an actual Sentinel here in all the glory and regal of their uniform would surely get them more recruits. Perhaps I should speak to him about that the next time he comes in for their weekly rations."
  6. Assistant Foreman Lithimis pulls the note from the board and takes it to his desk. He sits down and looks at his to do list saying "I will need to see that Farmmaster and Head Lumberjack Kaun receives the shears for the lumberyard. We should get those there as soon as possible. I believe they are still collecting leaves from the various trees for the Prince as he requested."
  7. Lithimis is making his way back to the Hall of Labor and strolls past the Treasury Office and says with a low mumble "It doesn't seem many people have the time to come and fill out the census, but they have more than enough time to sit around and complain about things they don't fully understand. The citizens all want to make the choices, but some wouldn't do the work if it was put in front of them, but would rather things are just handed to them. Too many Valah with pointy ears around here and their impatience. I am certainly proud of all those names on the boards inside the Hall of Labor that are here to support our Nation and have the mindset to see things needed to have this beautiful city grow and prosper. Those are the true Elves of Malinor that I get up every day and work hard for, those are my brothers and sisters."
  8. Lithimis dispatches a hawk clutching a small note. Eluana, I hope this note finds you well. I will take your recommendations into deep consideration, I had plans of evaluating the quotas over the past few days, but that time has escaped me due to some recent Nation events and various meetings with High and Lower Council members. I have noted it on my to do list here in the Hall of Labor and will see about making some changes very soon. Thank you for all the hard work at the farms, myself, Lady Titania and Farmmaster Kaun appreciate you and all the workers in the fields. Please continue to give us good feedback and we will make our best effort to make the necessary changes. Assistant Foreman Lithimis ((You will get paid for what you did, excess will roll into the next week, your job is safe.))

  10. Lithimis dispatches a hawk clutching a small note. Elinder, Currently the vineyard is being discussed at the Council level as we have not started operations there so far. Until we are given direction from them, the Hall of Labor is unable to take any action regarding it. I urge to you to engage with members of the High Council to expedite a decision so action can be taken at the vineyards. Assistant Foreman Lithimis ((I am pretty sure it is not regioned yet, so no perms anytime soon regardless of decision.)) ((Public housing is being discussed, but I am not sure anyone decided anything. We are trying to get as much done as possible with the short time we have had. We need patience from everyone.)) Lithimis dispatches a hawk clutching a small note. Tahar, We are now paying all workers with Malins, while doing the very minimum quota will yield you twelve Malins, which only leaves you two Malins after housing taxes, no one says you only have to do the minimum quota. If you feel you need more Malins, I suggest you do a higher quota every once in a while to get extra Malins for spending or find a second job about Malinor. Also, the quotas are continually evaluated based on the needs of the entire Nation. I did not say we planned on increasing them, and with many of them we may decrease them. If we do adjust a quota, we are going to try and only do it at the end of an Elven week so citizens are not caught by surprise with the change. You may not have noticed, but Foreman Titania actually made the decision to remove apples from the yield of lumberjacks. We will always try and balance the workload between all the jobs. Assistant Foreman Lithimis Lithimis dispatches a hawk clutching a small note. Laila, I believe you spoke with Foreman Titania about this. We have discussed it here at the Hall of Labor, and I have some ideas how we can help expedite this. Please come see me and we will discuss further at your earliest convenience. Assistant Foreman Lithimis
  11. Two small iron lockboxes with locks are set down within the city walls, one at the front of the Hall of Labor and one near the front entrance to the city. There is a small slot for parchment in the top of it. Lithimis slowly attaches the last note to the sign in front of the Hall of Labor with a look of exhaustion on his face. Lithimis quietly mumbles to himself “If the High Council keeps changing things, we will never get this straight and fair for everyone. I have to trust in their wisdom though and I must keep working tirelessly for all the citizens around me so they are taken care of, that is my oath to them and to LadyTitania.” A note posted on a sign above the lockbox reads. “First – Apply for jobs in person inside the Hall of Labor, do NOT leave a note requesting a job.” ((If you absolutely just can not see me in game due to time zones, start a pm with me and we will see what can be done. If it is because the Hall is closed sometimes, that is for RP reasons and is something you should learn to work around in your RP schedule. This thread will NOT become a job application thread.)) “Second – We are constantly working to add more jobs and adjust quotas, please be patient with us. The resources and jobs are being used to equip the Sentinels, build the University, supply the entire Nation with its needs. We will continue to adjust to meet the requests of the High Council.” “Third – Housing is being issued as fast as possible right now; there are many of you and only a couple of us. Once you qualify for a home, and the home is ready, we will leave you a note letting you know.” “Fourth – Please fully read the large notice board outside the Hall of Labor explaining the system with Malins and how things are being done.” “Lastly – Provide any complaints, questions, suggestions, comments, and/or concerns regarding the Hall of Labor here in the box. If you sign your name we will be able to get back to you, otherwise if you choose to remain anonymous, expect no response, but we may still implement your suggestions.” Signed, Hall of Labor Staff Foreman Titania Assistant Foreman Lithimis ((Please be gentle, we are working hard to improve the system and make it enjoyable for everyone, but it has been a huge undertaking.))
  12. ((Very nice work, I am not familier with actual braille and how this compares, but it seems well thought out. We had a dicussion the other day about how hard it should be and is to RP a blind person effectively. The times I have seen you about you seem to do a very good job of it. Again, great job on the development of this.)) ((Would this be considered lore?))

Emerging yourself into your character and having an understanding of the world around you. Taking in what is happening around your character and determining your actions and what the persona you have taken on would do in that place. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming would being using some sort of outside source or some form of knowledge that your character would not know and then using it to gain an advantage. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting would be where you emote your action beyond what is reasonable or one that is presumptuous. If you are emoting combat, you emote that you swing your sword and slice the open the chest of your opponent, you automatically assume you will hit on your swing and do not even allow your opponent the chance to emote that they attempted to dodge your attack or that they fall backwards upon seeing you raise your sword at them. In-Character Details Character Name: Lithimis Kindelisium Character Race: Wood Elf Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Lith, as most people have to come to call him, was born to an Elvish couple living far from their homeland. Lith's father, Fingolfin Kindelisium, grew up amongst other Wood Elves but his family was not very high in status in the community. He spent his days working tirelessly learning the craft of a Fletcher and Bowyer. Fingolfin had a love though, Tari Eluchialnis. She was the oldest daughter of a very well respected family, one whose father wanted her to have nothing to do with Fingolfin. Lith's father spent years courting and winning the affection of Tari, but her family would not allow any type of relationship to happen between them. It was announced one day that Tari would be wed to the son of a prominent family. Tari respected her father's wishes and told Fingolfin there could not be anything between them any longer. He was heartbroken and feared he could not continue to live amongst them and see his true love and never have her, so he left the Elvish city and made his way out into the wilds. He traveled for weeks and came upon a small grove of trees that seemed to surround a large white tree. This tree stood out amongst the others in the forest and it almost seemed to have magical properties. The animals and wildlife seemed to surround the tree and everything they needed was provided for them within the grove. It was late during Fingolfin's travels and he decided to seek refuge in the grove for the night. When he awoke the following morning, he knew that he belonged here amongst the grove. Fingolfin worked to create a home there in the grove and cared for the nature around him, and it cared for him. Lith's father continued to live amongst the wild and was out hunting one day and saw an Elvish traveling party was under attack by a small band of Orcs. Fingolfin thought to himself whether he should get involved, but it was always within his heart to come to the aid of those in need. One by one the Elvish guards accompanying the traveling party fell to the blades of the Orcs and it looked as if all hope for them was lost. Fingolfin sprang forth from the forest with bow in hand and began to impale arrows into the Orcs. He had killed many Orcs when suddenly he heard the screams of a female Elf, it was Tari, this was her traveling party. Fingolfin drew forth a small blade from his belt and charged towards the screams, he knew in his heart that he could not fail, he would gladly give his own life to save that of the only one he had ever loved. Relentlessly he let loose attack after attack until he was covered in Orc blood and there was not a one left standing. With just a handful of Elvish guards still alive and Tari quivering with fear on the ground up against large rock, Fingolfin ran to her and held her in his embrace. Once the dust settled and the remaining guards started to collect their things and get the traveling party back underway, Tari realized that this attack had been a sign to her, that she belonged with Fingolfin and could not be wed to no other. She told the guards to return to her homeland and to tell her farther she would not be able to return and be wed to someone she did not love, her heart would not allow it. Fingolfin and Tari spent the next couple hundred years or so living in complete bliss amongst the grove and cherished every moment they had together. In time, they had two sons, Lithimis and Celahir. Lith and his brother grew up in the grove, they only knew of living off the land and learning to provide for the family. Fingolfin taught them all the trades he knew, and how to survive. He taught them to distrust the evilness of Orcs and it was the dark magics of the Orcs and their inability to control it that has brought the Undead to this world. Lith has recently come of age, roughly 100 years, where he wants to travel from the grove and learn the ways of the world, perhaps even find love. He hopes that someday he will have the friendship and caring for someone that he has witnessed his father and mother have. Lith is a strong fighter when he needs to be, and understands how to take care of himself and survive where most could not. Lith shares the values of his father in always helping those in need. Swearing to his family that he will soon return, he has recently departed and ventured forth to cities he has never laid eyes upon and awaits new adventures before him. What are your characters ambitions?: Lith's ambitions are to travel the world and find his way. He hopes that someday he will come across the love of his life. He knows and understands that he must unite with others if they are to bring an end to the Undead that roam the lands. He must find a way to return to the homeland of the Elves and help them see they cannot stand alone in this fight. They must seek allies with the Humans and the Dwarves if they should hope to put an end to the blight. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Lith tries to restore balance to things when he stumbles upon them or when nature is not as it should be. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? (I look over intriguing at the dwarf and begin to approach him with curiosity) Greetings to you, I am not sure I can afford your wares that you are selling, but I am most interested to see what you have. I have never met a dwarf before, much less one inside a human city. How did you come to be here? Did you travel far from the dwarven realm? (I wait to listen to the response of the dwarf and eagerly hope to learn about his travels.) I myself am looking to earn coin, is there anything from the wilds I could gather for you and perhaps we could both make profit? (Hoping for a positive response from the dwarven trader, I begin to look through the wares for something of use.) You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? (Traveling quietly along the road, always trying to stay in the shadows and remain unseen, after approaching the Orc and hearing the threats made to the Dwarf, with bow in hand, I emerge from the foliage) Orc, make your way down the road, and pay this dwarf no further trouble. I have no immediate quarrel with you, but I promise that I will not stand by and allow you to do unjust harm to another. Return the way you came and do not venture forth this way again. This is the only warning I will give. Do not turn this meeting here today something it need not be. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?: (I Quickly rush to the aid of the old man) Are you hurt? Is anything broken, do you require aid? (While waiting to hear the old man's response, I try to look him over making sure there are no visible injuries.) Perhaps I could help fashion you a new walking stick. I am sure here among the forest, we can find something that would be most suitable. (I attempt to set the man up and help him collect his valuables.) Where were you traveling to? I would gladly escort you for the remainder of your trip if you desire it.
