1st Switzer Regiment of Foot The regimental colours and sigil. Founding The role of the 1st Switzer Regiment of Foot Is to provide quality infanteers -who specialize in anti-cavalry warfare- to fulfill a contract of arms at home, abroad or on the field of battle. Each Switzer is regimented under the contract that binds them and is obligated to fulfill their duties until death or contract end. 1st Switzer Regiment of Foot does not work solely for money and personal gain as solo mercenaries are too commonly stereotyped as doing. The regiment, instead, is loyal to the length and terms of the contract that the Regiment's CO signs, regardless of how much is paid or if there are better contracts offered. Disloyalty and treason is punished severely, and is arguably a worse offense in this Regiment than any others out there. The stereotype that mercenaries are disloyal and will leave you for someone who pays higher is false, and 1st Switzer Regiment of Foot lives to prove that. Command Structure The Irregulars adhere to a loose hierarchy of command. Their experience and social status as commoners has led them to hold these facts in common creating a jovial and casual atmosphere between the various ranks of the Irregulars. Contract goals will be pursued until death or completion. The only exception being a violation of agreed upon payment by the Contracting party. Prices vary depending on the task at hand and the degree of resources required to complete the task. The 1st Switzer Regiment of Foot will undertake no contracts against Imperial property, forces or the Imperial throne itself. These contracts will be instantly declined and the potential client will be reported to the authorities. However the Regiment will serve in inter-house conflicts and various non imperial civil wars. A lot of combat in medieval ages was fought with mercenaries, the Swiss being the most famous. This group is based heavily off of the Swiss Mercenaries, and we hope to provide immersive, and quality roleplay not only for ourselves, but for the rest of the server. We hope to debunk the misconceptions about mercenaries such as the cliché "mercs only work for the money, and they'll abandon you for whoever pays them more" stereotype. The Felsen Armed Forces Our primary goal is to provide the human Capital, Felsen, it's people, and it's surrounding areas with a reliable military force to look up to. Be it in peacetime or war, the Felsen Armed Forces will be there to assist. The future looks bright for this organization in that we're taking a step forward, not back, in an attempt to gain more able-bodied soldiers and to further promote the development of Felsen, and inevitably, all of Oren itself. Our goals are to enrich the cities of Oren with quality RP that makes sense, is professional, and overall makes the area a better place. Though we are soldiers, in peacetime, our primary focus is policing and peacekeeping. During wartime, it is inevitable that you will be deployed and shipped out to fight whoever it is that dares call Oren it's enemy. Formerly known as The Felsen Watch, a small guard force dedicated to policing Felsen, The Felsen Armed Forces, or the Felsen Banner, are a highly trained group of professionals who serve under House de Savoie, and more specifically, King Olivier de Savoie himself. The King's Guards serve alongside Felsen Soldiers as brothers in arms, sharing similar duties to Oren and her people. Felsen Soldiers wear a black and white checkerboard-patterned uniform, with horizontal black stripes on the bottom left white quadrant. Duty. Honour. Loyalty. Courage. The Felsen Armed Forces' ranks are unique in the fact that they are not displayed by a persona prefix, but rather an actual badge on the uniform's skin. Felsen Soldiers wear their golden rank badge proudly on their upper chest on the left side. The following are each individual rank, a short description, and an image of what the rank looks like from lowest rank to highest: Conscript: Being the Lowest Rank in the Felsen Military, it is possibly the most commonly seen next to Corporal. A Conscript is the most basic of basic units, and performs day to day duties that any soldier would be expected of. They see their time doing gate duty, they are drilled until their feet ache, they are taught how to be proper soldiers, and eventually, they are taught to lead others. Fig. 1: Conscript Corporal (Also called Ensign): Corporals are the second lowest rank amongst the men of the Felsen Military. These units are the next step up the chain of command, and may hold a leadership role in a small team of men. Fig. 2: Corporal Sergeant: Sergeant is the highest rank reachable by a non-commissioned member, and comes with great responsibility. Sergeants are appointed with duties called 'appointments', in which they are to carry out. These appointments are mentioned in their rank. Some examples would be Rationing Sergeant, Quartermaster, or Recruitment Sergeant. Fig. 3: Sergeant Lieutenant: The Lieutenant is the lowest ranking officer (out of two total ranks) in the Felsen Armed Forces. He is to be saluted whenever the opportunity presents itself.
