They are the equivalent of fuel rod guns (do the same damage), but they have a MUCH slower rate of fire, requiring that they be charges before each shot. It can also be fired as a continuous beam, which is weaker than the normal shots. Also, as the hunters have no natural eyes, and the fact that they are firing an incredibly unpredictable weapon from their arm, the aim is not good. I plan on balancing them, don't worry. If you want to know of any other potential weaknesses, feel free to ask.

Fall Of The Universes 2.0 Rp Thread
Magiik replied to TheWyrdWolf's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
Odigu and Idisi On board a phantom en route to a covenant landing site on Earth. The two hulking frames sit next to each other. One is charging its weapons, while the other sits perfectly still. A low rumble can be heard, lower than the ship's hum. The one with the given name of Idisi remains still while its Bond Brother, Odigu, fidgets restlessly. With a hiss, the door to the cockpit opens. A Sangheilli with golden armor steps out. With the voice of a leader, it speaks to the troops. "The San'Shyuum betrayed us. They replaced us with Jiralhanae, who are unworthy of even looking at us. Today, we will show them what a grave mistake we have made. Today, we, true soldiers, will fight alongside other true soldiers against the threat of annihilation." His speech done, the Elite stalks towards the Hunters. He notices once more the intriguing unpredictability of hunters, as they meditate calmly before a battle. The same hunters that he has seen tear soldiers apart with their bare hands. "You two will accompany me. We will be dropping next to the hangar of the ship. It will be your responsibility to take care of any soldiers that come near us while I lead the troops to the bridge. Odigu, you will be at the front of the line, Idisi at the back." The low rumble of Idisi's large frame becomes speech that vibrates far more than just the elite's ears. "We are ready. We will follow your plan. It will be good to fight alongside you again." Without warning, the phantom jolts. What was supposed to be a surprise attack on a defenseless vessel becomes an ambush. Turrets and guns shoot the ship down. From the wreckage crawls the majority of the elite squad. The covenant forces hold their own, confident in their ability to defend their ship. Of course, then they see two massive frames exit the ship. One group of turrets explodes into green fire. Another is sliced into pieces as a green beam passes through it. A third watches in horror as a worse fate approaches them: Odigu, a 12 and a half foot tall behemoth, charging them. "To the ship! We can take it!" Comes the cry from the elites. With reluctance, the hunters turn from the carnage and run towards the hangar. -
You'll do fine. Those that feel they aren't ready for responsibility tend to do the best. Now to cause some mayhem... Hehehe (RPly, of course)

It's good to see you again, too, Angel. I love this roleplay and am glad to see it returned. I also hope that the hunters aren't too op, although I've researched plenty of weaknesses as well as their strengths.

Originating Universe: Halo Name: Odigu Loso Mada and Idisi Loso Mada Age: Unknown (no information on lekgolo aging. I'm assuming that, as a colony of smaller organisms, it doesn't actually matter) Height: 12'6" and 12'3" Appearance: purple Hunter armor, fluorescent orange worms for body. Race: Mgalekgolo (Hunter) Gear: Standard hunter armor, assault cannons, and shields. Razored spikes on armor, showing that they are bonded Short bio: Odigu and Idisi are "Bond Brothers," a title given to lekgolo colonies that are large enough to be split into two Mgalekgolo (hunters). They split before the Great Schism, meaning that they had had plenty of practice fighting before it came time to choose a side. Like most hunters, they assisted the elites against he rest of the covenant. In splitting, the colony decided to split its personality. Odigu became the impulsive, aggressive side while Idisi adopted the cautious, pensive personality. They greatly admire the elites as fellow warriors, and trust their judgement. The hunters do not see the humans as worthy of the same admiration. Current Location: Meditating in the barracks before launching an attack against the covenant. Weaknesses: The back and belly is unprotected by armor. If too many singular worms die or are separated from the colony (pulled out), the hunter dies. Extra note: though in two bodies, the hunters are one consciousness. Bond brothers are formed when one colony becomes too big for one set of armor. They are one mind in two bodies.

Rowen polishes his beloved shovel for the umpteenth time, now having even better a reason to. With nary a thing burdening his back, because he owns nothing but his shovel and (hopefully) his clothes, Rowen prepares for the many adventures that his small mind can imagine. ((This seems like a great idea. I hope this'll attract many a halfling.)) ((But not those dirty hobbits))

It didn't work, but Sparehoe was right. It didn't seem to cause any problems when I did a test log on. So, I'll stick with that. Thanks for your help, though. I guess I just edit this with a [resolved] or something?
-
I didn't know what you wanted a screenshot of, so I took two. It is exactly the conditions I used previously. The black rectangle is covering my name, which I choose to keep to myself. I also tried restarting windows explorer and I still had the problem. Also, I guess I'll give logging on a shot. The custommobspawner is, as far as I know, a support mod for Mo' Creatures and other mods that introduce new mobs.
-
I tried that, too. There's no javaw.exe. Which means that there's nothing to stop. It also tells nothing about any programs that could possibly be running. Oh, and I totally understand. It's not that late (early?) here, but it's still pretty late.
-
That's the thing, though. I can't delete it. That error message always comes up and stops me. It just won't let me. Unless there's another way to delete it that I don't know of, which is likely.
-
It is in the default (Roaming) folder. I can't delete or move the .minecraft folder without getting that error message. I was capable of copying it, so I have a back-up. If it comes to completely deleting it, I'm now prepared for it.

Alright, despite what the title may say, this does have something to do with LoTC. I keep a few different minecraft back-ups with assorted mods. Some are capable of going on most servers, like LoTC, and others I try to avoid because of strict "no mod" rules. Recently, I've been having trouble switching out my .minecraft folders from a modded one to one that's more LoTC-friendly. I get a message saying "The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program." This is, in fact, entirely untrue. I have done complete restarts and found no files or folders open. I did a google search about it and found information that wasn't helpful. So, I decided to come to you guys for assistance. First: Would it cause any problems if I connected with a client that had Mo' Creatures, Single Player Commands, GUI API, CustomMobSpawner, and Minecraft Forge installed? Because those are the mods that I have and I am incapable of switching or deleting the .minecraft folder. Second: If you do know something about this problem, I could use a little assistance. I am running a laptop with windows 7, though I don't know much more useful information than that. Thanks. I hope I can get some help with this, because I don't want to be locked off of LoTC due to a crazy problem. Oh, and I hope this is in the right section. -Mr. Magiik Al

The Halflings And Why I Love Them
Magiik replied to Valon (Yokey)'s topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
I have to agree with you. I may not be too well known and I've only been a halflings for a week or two, but this is the most welcoming and friendliest group of people on the server. Everyone goes out of their way to roleplay or help you out. Also, is it funny that the advertisement for this section of the forums was about the audio book version of The Hobbit? -
I know one disease: The dreaded Food Coma. Leaving the subject in a vegetable like state, the food coma happens when one devours too much high quality and good tasting food. It is unknown how long it lasts, as most individuals don't actually want it to end. Those lucky few that have managed to escape (unwillingly, I tell you) tell of a great warmth moving through their body and a wonderful sensation of fullness unrivaled by anything else. In other words, every other day for a halfling. I hope I'm not out of place doing this, but I couldn't resist the chance for a joke. EDIT: I figure that, if I have time for a joke I have time to help. Due to the halfling's living situation, fungal infections might be slightly common. Also, perhaps mold allergies. Other than that, probably common diseases. Oh. Also, probably ticks and other parasites. Even though the halflings have tidy homes, their town has quite a lot of trees and shrubbery. Plus, I wouldn't put purposeful parasitic infection past the Grumpy Tree...

*Graciously accepts his medal* I didn't put those because they're already there, on the old one. I'm trying to give new information, things I've noticed that need to be known. If you really want it, though, I can add it when I get home along with a few other ideas I've had. Thanks for the praise, guys. I hope this helps with future forum roleplays. I wanna see one actually get completed!

Hello, peoples of LoTC. I am Magiik, and I’m addressing something that is a big problem in the Forum Roleplay section: There aren’t many forum roleplays lasting much longer than a week. So, to fix this problem, I have decided to make a little guide pointing out quite a few mistakes that I’ve seen that ruin forum roleplays. I’m also going to make a list of things that make a forum roleplay that is both popular and enjoyable. Common Mistakes Made in Forum Roleplays: Poor Roleplay I’ve seen a few roleplays that have potential be completely ruined when someone starts to break the basic roleplay rules (No powergaming, metagaming, etc.). And this is not always just one person; it is a snowball effect. Pretty quickly, everyone is either using powergaming one-liners or has left. Lack of Story This isn’t always the reason, because, especially recently, we’ve had some really well thought-out stories. However, I’ve seen quite a few that have no base story (I even made one), and it ends up being very difficult to follow or roleplay on. For instance, a story and a basic goal gives everyone an idea as to where to start their character, and it can really help progress it. Large, Open World Yikes, this one causes problems. This can destroy a forum roleplay before it even begins. This is especially a problem with the sci fi roleplays, in which you can begin on completely separate planets. Too Many at a Time This is a major problem. If a new forum roleplay is posted while there are already too many, it not only leads to its own demise, but it brings most of the others down with it. Absence This is the thing that leads to the most failing forum roleplays. It could be going perfectly fine, but then either the person who is running the entire thing or a person who is needed to continue a conversation or action disappears. Sometimes, it’s them simply being absent for a day or two. However, it’s often unexpected and unknown how long it will last. The players quickly run out of things to do because they’re waiting on a story or continuation post. It’s a huge problem. Now, here’s how you can avoid these mistakes and make a good roleplay that will last a while. How to Make a Forum Roleplay Come up with an idea To make a forum roleplay, you first need an idea. There are many ideas that have done well in the past, but you can really use anything you can think of. Write a detailed story This is vital: You cannot think, “Oh, I’ll just let the players decide where they’ll go with it.” No, it does not work. You need a good story that will have the players following it, always interested in what will happen next. If you don’t, then it can quickly collapse. Wait for the right time Once again, don’t post a new forum roleplay while there are already loads of others. Wait until the excitement dies down. Then you can post yours and get the maximum amount of attention. Post an OOC/App thread first This works to really get some attention for your roleplay. People can see what your new forum roleplay is about without having to worry about joining it. Plus, the application can help them develop their characters before using them. All in all, the application is important because it lets only the people who are truly interested join it. Post the RP thread Make sure to post it not long after the OOC thread. That way, interest hasn’t died down, and it’s still thought of as new. Assign others to help you Moderators are useful. They can help you keep track of things, and they can run the roleplay while (if) you’re gone. Be sure to let the moderators know your story plans. Have fun Why wouldn't you? That's what we're here for. If you're not having fun, then maybe that roleplay isn't for you. Don't beat yourself up by trying to play it if you don't enjoy it. Interesting Ideas & Innovations These are some things I've seen that are revolutionary in making a fun roleplay. They can be used in most scenarios and really help make things interesting. Let players choose alignment This doesn't mean you have to put an "alignment" section on the application. Just be prepared to accept characters who will work against the rest of the players. Sometimes, these make better villains than you had even thought of. Plus, you don't have to work on controlling the antagonist, which takes a bit of work off of you. Have an absence plan This is more than having a moderator for when you're absent. How about when key players are absent, and the others can't continue without them? It's good to have some kind of plan here, whether it be something like players that are absent for more than a few days are controlled by the moderators, or players that leave for more than an hour un-announced are tortured in the town square for all to see before beheading them with a rusty butter knife. On second thought, let's just stick to the first, shall we? That’s really it. I may have more at another time, but this is all for now. Be sure to give me feedback and suggestions. I will most likely edit this as I think of more, so I suggest checking it often! Thanks for reading.

Rowen walks around Lenfarthing, enjoying the sights when he notices the posting. A quick read of it brings a smile to his face. "I was thinkin' abou' brewin' th' drinks, but I think I'd enjoy bein' th' carpenter." Just to be sure, he signs Rowen Lightfoot by both positions, then wanders off to find an elder.

Added information on fighting and working together as an entertainer.

Thank you. Unfortunately, LOTC doesn't know of the many guides I did back on CH...
-
I think I'll leave that one out... eh... personal preference

Hello, peoples of LOTC! I am Magiik, the professional-pun-producing-person and entertainment-enthusiast. This guide is going to cover entertainers in roleplay, and what they should be like, what they could do, and how people should react to them. Though this is mainly a guide for would-be entertainers, a lot of people should read the section on reacting to entertainers. It addresses a problem that I see often, and it’s one that affects people that desire to be an entertainer of some sort. So, without further ado, here’s the guide. What Is an Entertainer? What Kinds of Entertainers Are There? Traits of an Entertainer Tips For Being an Entertainer Using /roll How To React To an Entertainer Fighting Collaberation That’s it. If you have any suggestions, comments, constructive criticisms, or other things, please feel free to tell me below. Hope you liked it.

Hello, peoples of LotC! My name is Magiik, the professional pun producing person, providing perfectly pieced puns for people! I'm new here, and I figured this would be the best way to become known in the community. I'm an elf-enthusiast, being one almost every time I roleplay. I'm a new anime fan, having watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and I'm now watching Soul Eater. Just because I'm new to the server, doesn't mean I have no clue what to do. I think in a lot of different ways, ways that normal people hardly ever think. You'll rarely find me playing a normal soldier, or an average shopkeeper. I tend to find an angle or a position that is either underdone or completely non-existant, as well as lore-following. I tend to draw things. You may find my drawings on the forums later on. I'm also an unofficial comedian and a science nerd. Well, that's me. Now, I've got two questions: What's the way to roleplay a wood elf? I searched all over and couldn't find anything for LotC. What's the stance on tamed animals that don't exist in Minecraft? Like, falcons (falconry), horses, etc? That's it, really. Nice to meet you all. And, well, bad pun. Hope to see you all on the server and to make you all laugh at least once, whether it be with me or at me.

I'm new to this server, and I made an app. It was accepted. Earlier in this topic, it was said that once the application was moved, a GM would whitelist you. My application was moved early this morning (It was moved around 6:48 AM, it is currently 5:12 PM where I am (EST)). I'm not whitelisted yet. I may have misunderstood what was said earlier, but how long until I can expect to be able to join the server?

Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: zXzMAGIIKzXz How old are you?: 15 Time-Zone: EST (Eastern Standard Time/ GMC -5) Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes. I have read and agree to the rules. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have played on other Minecraft roleplay servers. I have also stooped so low as to play roleplay on Roblox. I do not suggest that anytime soon for anyone who values their roleplay honor. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I have heard about it repeatedly from a few people I play Minecraft with. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.minecraft.../page__st__2760 (If you’re reading this on minecraft forums, congratulations. You get to experience link-ception) Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): I have posted it on Minecraft Forums. If you’re reading this on Minecraft Forums, that would be obvious. Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes. I shall. I take it upon myself to uphold the lore and law in the fullest extent possible. Oh, dear. I appear to already be getting into the roleplay spirit… (I must apologize now, I am plagued in that I am forced to make terrible jokes every possible moment.(I told that joke one time immediately after lighting tnt under myself. Very fun)) Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Acting as a character that is not one’s self, normally in a controlled situation for the purpose of fun. (I’m sorry if that sounds professional, but that’s how I speak and type) Meta-gaming: Using information in-character that could not be known by your character for a few different reasons. Power-emoting: Acting in a way that doesn’t allow any retaliation or choice in the outcome. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Maehr Current Age: 103 Sub-race (if any): High Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Ambitions for the Future: Maehr grew up in Malinor. He spent a lot of time learning, whether it was through his parents, his books, or simple observations of the world around him. He became skilled in reading and writing, as well as drawing. His parents fully supported his lifestyle, in that they forced it upon him. He found he greatly enjoyed learning, though, even if it was forced. Maehr’s life was uneventful for a majority of it. He lived his life learning, trying to gain as much knowledge as he could. It was a goal for him. When Maehr finally left his parents to explore the world past the pages of a book, he looked forward to it. He never attacked or harmed anyone, though he was attacked a few times. Whenever it happened, he tried to run away to the best of his ability, but he was never quick. Maehr’s first true hardship in his life was an attack by a group of bandits. It wasn’t even on him, but on a small, helpless elven girl. With a tongue that was sometimes quicker than his head, and always quicker than himself, he shouted to the bandits to stop. They took offence to his shouting and ran at him, taking their attention off of the girl. Maehr wasn’t quick enough to get away, and he was soon caught and beaten senseless. He awoke in a ditch to the side of a path, with none of his little amount of money left on him. One eye was swollen shut, and his leg was broken. He limped to the closest place of shelter, and he fashioned himself a splint out of some sticks and some twine from his clothes. He got back to shelter, and the attack lingers on his memory. He wants to train with weaponry, but he always turns back to his books and paintings. (I apologize for the rather uneventful backstory, but I’ve seen quite a few applications. Frankly, I’m annoyed with the high frequency of stories that have a basis of parents dying and becoming a warrior. I decided a while back to never do that kind of story again. I may do one with a bit more detail if I ever need a new character, but that’ll be once I have more first-hand experience of the server and the world.) Personality: A kind joker, Maehr tends to think quickly, and speak with even greater speed. He doesn’t enjoy harming anyone of any kind and has a sense of honor that goes against him treating anyone ill. Maehr is intelligent and enjoys sitting for a while in one spot, simply observing something interesting. He is enthusiastic and helpful to anyone that needs it. Skills: Maehr is skilled with his hand. His handwriting is good, and his is able to draw with a good amount of skill. He also has good eyesight and has the patience to sit in one spot for a large amount of time for whatever reason. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Maehr has blonde hair and light colored skin. He wears simple clothes and often has a book on him. His eyes are light blue. He stands at an average height for his age. (What might that be? I couldn’t find it) Any other details you wish to share about your character: Maehr has a great fear of any insect. He does not like the way they move. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: Maehr shouts to the older elves, “Hey! Leave the child alone!” The older elves (I’m going to call them “The Others,’ capital letter included) turn towards him, wondering why he would get involved. Maehr takes advantage of their attention on him, shouting again, “That kind of behavior’s wrong. Why don’t you go back to wherever you call home and stop bothering the poor child?” The Others take a few steps towards him, but Maehr watches the child out of the corner of his eyes. He notices it crawl away and decides that now may be the best time to make himself scarce. The Others finally decide to reply, “Are you going to make us? This one deserves it!” Maehr stops listening and starts running in the opposite direction. The Others chase him, quickly catching up to him. Maehr refuses to remember what happened after that. He likes to think that he managed to escape, but, in reality, he fell and was kicked around a few times before The Others left. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: Maehr rushes over to the old man. As he bends down to help him up, he asks, “Are you ok? That was quite a fall.” The old man nods and Maehr gets him to his feet. The stick has rolled out of the way, so Maehr helps him over to it. As soon as the old man is stable, Maehr finds the coins and gives them to the man. “Here you are, sir. Need any help to get where you’re going?” The old man shakes his head ‘no’ and goes on his way, not taking a second look at the strange person who would help a stranger and not rob them while they were helpless. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Maehr looks over the carriage, keeping an eye out for anything that catches his interest. He sees drinks, foods, weapons, arrows, and clothing, but nothing grabs his attention. He is about to leave the clearing when something catches his eye. A small, leather-bound book lays under a tunic. Maehr points it out to the trader. He asks, “Can I take a look at that book?” The trader shakes his head before replying, “No, sir. You have to buy the book to read it.” Maehr frowns slightly, then asks another question. “How much for it?” “You can have it for 100 gold pieces. I think that would be worth the knowledge in it.” Maehr thinks a little, then shoots back a counter-offer. “I don’t know what it’s about, so I’ll only do 60.” “75” “65” “I’ll go that low. You have yourself a deal, elf.” Maehr takes the book and looks inside. Any knowledge would have been worth 100 gold pieces to him, but he’d rather pay less if possible.
