The following individuals would, regardless of affiliation with any orders or individuals, be denied access to the Guild hall:

    Belron

    Mahina

    Unidentified individuals

The lights of the hall flicker alight, awakening from their long slumber. Hidden from sight in the snow-capped mountains of the north the forgotten is remembered; The cast aside is retrieved. The lost is found once more.

    Purpose.

Dust has gathered upon the surfaces, only to be strewn about the place by the sudden activity. Chairs are placed along the crescent table’s edge ‘til no room yet remains for them. For lack of seating the remaining stand, lingering up to the back wall of the meeting room.

To the front stands a large sandstone wall, an equal-sized map of the lands stretched and pinned across it. But a pedestal has been placed in front of it, obscuring the inner lands of Athera from view.

On the other side of the podium stands a slender, pale elf adorned in green. Between the strands of platinum hair, a young and unblemished face with angled features. Those who knew him would recognise him as Archmage Ceruberr.

Before the three Archmages of the guild stood the apprentices, instructors and guildmasters alike. Behind the three stands a man few in the room recognize. His visage covered by a pristine white beard and his arms by delicately traced markings, running from his hands upwards only to disappear under the coverings of his sleeves.

A meeting of the Mages Guild has been called.

Archmage Ceruberr raises his arms before him in an embracing manner.

"Welcome both colleagues and friends. I thank you all for attending however I must cut short this introduction as the hour grows late and there is much to discuss.

The recent events concerning the return of the Betrayer as well as the return of the Guild's founder, the Arcane Mage, have truly opened our eyes. We have realised that the Mages Guild has deviated greatly from it’s original path and purpose. We have become an amateurish academy for those who simply want power or wish to learn a few fancy tricks. This must change.

The guild is, or is meant to be, exactly that. A guild. Not an academy, school or college. It is lead by those who are deemed knowledgeable, logical and trustworthy enough to share their skills and experiences to teach others. These individuals lead their own lives, though they are all joined by a common goal; to create and preserve balance and peace.

There was once a time where this was the case. In Aegis. In a time where creating and maintaining peace was a difficult task considering Iblees’ minions antagonized the realm. Yet the guild stood strong. It’s ties with the descendants and other guilds allowed it to flourish with confidence and strength which aided greatly when they fought against the betrayer’s forces. And so, as this threat returns, so do we return to our roots.

The active and proficient mages will take upon apprentices as they see fit. Apprentices which appear to have the ideals and characteristics which are suitable with the guild’s aims and goals. They will be instructed and taught by their masters so that when the time comes, they too will be able to step up and do their part in balancing the scales of good and evil. When a Master believes that their Apprentice is prepared both mentally and magically, they will be set certain tasks and/or challenges to test their knowledge and ability. If successful and accepted by a Guildmaster or Archmage, they shall be recognised as true mages of the guild."

Archmage Ceruberr steps down from the podium to stand with the other Archmages.

"The time for action is upon us. We are not reforming once again, we are returning to what we were originally intended to be. Discussion begins now."

And with that, the Archmage falls silent. He clasps his hands behind his back as his emerald eyes scan the faces before him, awaiting the discussion to begin.

  3. "There are two sides to Magic, neither good, neither evil... A Mage must not perform forbidden magic... They say magic is not good or evil, then say no forbidden magic is allowed, THEN have cultists and necromancers in their ranks... I mean... are they idiots or something? Two times they go against what they say...

By Ariel and all that is holy, they make so many rules to protect and make the guild super and excelent! You can't destroy it! You can't teach outside of it! You have to keep coming back to the Guild! You can't use magic for personal gain? Is that just going against what they said again? Everyone has reasons to learn magic, if they do not have reasons, they shouldn't even learn magic!

I bloody thought mages were smart..."

Daniel sighs after speaking his thoughts out loud for those around to hear and coment if they want.

Archmage Ceruberr simply raises his brow as he stands close to Daniel.

"You must be a Druid to have spoken such nonsense.

Might I ask you to continue reading the rest of that sentence? "..it is only the choices and actions of the wielder which shape the fate of all man, we can only say choose wisely.." Forbidden magic is simply that which can only really be used to upset the balance of this world. It is inevitable that some will choose to use it. However it is how they choose to use it that we are concerned with. Only if it disrupts the balance of this world it is a threat. If it doesn't, then what concern is it? We in this Guild simply wish to steer practitioners of the Arcane in the right direction."

You say everyone has reasons to learn magic? Indeed they do. Most seek it for power and other foolish personal reasons. However the Guild has one goal. Those who are found to be sensitive to the magical arts are to be taught only to use it to maintain the balance of this world. Is this not a 'smart' endeavor?"

  4. Mali’aheral Citizenship Application

    ((MC Name: CaptainSheepy))

    Name: Ceruberr Asul'Ailer

    Age: 94

    Gender: Male

Origins of your birth: Malinor, Anthos

How long have you resided with the blessed Mali’aheral? Ever since I departed from Malinor to reside within Lin'everal at the age of 24.

Why do you wish to become a citizen of our cihi? I was under the impression I already was.

How can you declare you are Mali'thill? Child of pure mali'aheral parents, physical appearance and the duration of time that I have already lived with the mali'aheral of Haelun'or.

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you? I believe it represents all that mali'aheral should strive to accomplish in our lives. The progression of both health and knowledge.

What is your personal vision for our blessed race? Simply to prosper and find peace within our new home. Perhaps also for new alliances to be birthed and obviously the continuation of the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.

Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the mali’aheral? Example: professions and positions.

I currently, along with Kalameet, hold the title of Archmage within the Mages Guild. I, despite my young age, consider myself to be highly knowledgeable on various aspects of the arcane. I have studied Alchemy for some time and wish to continue my studies should the opportunity and time present itself.  I have previously held the title of Tilruir'llirn within Lin'everal and perhaps see myself returning to the politics of the city one day.

What does the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you? It represents what myself and other mali'aheral should strive to accomplish.

  6. ((Congrats, as I was typing this you beat me to it!  Near the end, reading it became really quick and easy! Awesome job with this you two!))

As Archmage Ceruberr strides along the main road on his occasional trip to Haelun'or, he pauses for a moment, glancing over to his left. With a gentle frown, he cautiously strides towards the strange monolith. His frown deepens as he runs his slender fingers down it's smooth surface. Suddenly, his hand grasps tightly onto it's side. His entire body seems to freeze in place as his hands clamp themselves onto the stone. With a small growl, Ceruberr's eyes slowly lose their colour of green and become an abyss of darkness. The shade comes forth. As his eyes scan over the text, he seems to spit out each word in a sinister tone.

    "Al'nimdravur daz'granom tavi al'pelosr-ka du al'nei

    Aqunui al'ikaya daz'valkar urk'chak eg brikas

    Al'savurr daz'saunor eg al'numenro zu'darkul

    Aqunui al'bilneth daz'mundu eg al'ithurzu-zow

    Yunya gatar-talsh godar al'chol-raja

    Hraz thur'daz'reeyad bovur al'allvur zu al'torgo

    Rekari overrdalk-talsh minev nal'sek gathan

    Nal'sek trun daz'pursu kon tursk-sinle

Eg nowa-sinle zu al'zubguglar talsh nal'sek sidarn lerikah

    kuram ag'sprek

    Al'hualthol-ka zu al'reiz-avtu-ka kuram-talsh ag'shatchar

    Zordveel, Borsh, Pruzzal, Sthor, y-sek akra-ka brol-lerikah

    Undere tavi y-sek basular y-sek chol-ka hettar-lerikah

    Savurr-e daz'abovul varrik nal'sek valasga-serthekhna

    Savurr-e daz’preda varrik nal’sek fikt-sisem

Undere yunya agonsh-talsh eg dakzolarrg frerhur."

A few moments after the completion of the reading, Ceruberr falls to his knees. He sits there for while, his breathing eventually returning to its normal pace. He raises his now emerald eyes to stare at the monolith. The words seem to take form..?

"The void eating at the souls of the blind

Whilst the watchmen sleeping(sleeps?), frozen in time

The master watches in the death of the night

Whilst the guardian wanes in the fading light

All shall submit into the chilling hand

As it stretches over the whole of the land

None shall rise against his/her power

His/her strength grows with every hour

In every corner of the world shall his/her tongue be spoken

The covenants of the descendant races shall be broken

Human, Orc, Elf, Dwarf, their minds will shatter

And at their bond their hands will batter

Master(e?) is ruling from his/her darkling hall

Master(e?) is speaking from his/her silent mouth

Master(e?) is readying (?) from his/her crystal prison

And all shall quake in joyful madness."

As Ceruberr concludes reading the stone. He gingerly gets to his feet and makes his way home. Mulling over the words as he does so.
