  1. Somewhere far away in an unimportant hovel, dressed in forgettable garb, a familiar dwarf's blue eyes leap back and forth excitedly over the parchment he has received. His wrinkled face cracks first into a wry grin, then a smile, and finally into his signature broad beam as he casts a glance to his withered mountain chicken, Dumpling.

"Looks loike weh've got some ol' friends tae visit, eh?"

  2.

Having heard the commotion as he strode into the Ireheart Clan Hall, Aldal knew instantly what had happened. The metallic clang of hammer meeting armour, the barbaric roars, the crash of body into sand. He side-eyed the entrance to the fighting pit, wincing as he watched, as though in slow-motion, some unknown dwed deliver the finishing blow to the dwarf that was his most trusted kinsman. He could not save Kilmar now; his son in all but blood was gone. He had to act fast. As Dain cleaned himself off in the fighting pit, the old dwed rushed to Kilmar's workshop, withdrawing the sacred objects which the pair of them had hidden there together in the fear that something of this nature would occur. Bundling up the relics in a large burlap sack and unsheathing Grimforge using his right hand, the former Clan Father returned to the main gate of the Clan Hall, though Dain was nowhere to be seen. Returning his trusty short-sword to its housing on his belt, he disappeared into the inky blackness of Kal'Omith's night.

"Yeh're comin' wif me," Aldal commanded the Irehearts he met in the Tavern. A flurry of nods and confused looks were exchanged, but before long, a small party of Irehearts had formed behind their former patriarch. "Weh 'ave work teh do."

The squadron of furious clansmen, having by now been informed of that which transpired, made its winding way to the Clan Hall of the Emberhorns. "Ah believe Lor' Emberhorn would loike teh speak," Aldal explained to his followers, "One o' 'is servants sent fehr me."

With that, the elderly dwed threw open the doors of Lodbairn's Clan Hall, meeting his friend's anguished, emerald eyes with his own pair of sapphire ones. "Where deh croime is found," he growled, "Deh axe shall fall."

  4. *All over the Isles of Axios a long list of terms is published, seeming to indicate an agreement between The Grand Kingdom of Urguan and one of its Clans. Copies of the document would be found on the vast majority of notice-boards and heralded by criers in most major cities, for those concerned with its contents*

    Da Khronammoruk Khroven

In the pursuit of beneficial union, it falls to the Elders of Clan Ireheart (hereafter referred to as both the Elder Council and The Council, interchangeably) to determine the alliances and allegiance of the Ireheart Clan and its Holdings. In said pursuit, the decision of the conjoinment falls to heavy discussion and extensive revision of written terms. Following the meeting of the esteemed members of Clan Ireheart, these terms are transcribed for immediate implementation and thusly named “Da Khronammoruk Khroven” (The Ireheart Pact).

    -          In the event that the Grand King of Urguan resigns, passes away, or is otherwise reverted to a position in which he/she is no longer the sovereign of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, these accords will be reopened for discussion with his/her successor.

    -          Upon the rightful coronation of a new Grand King, these accords may be renewed and reinstated. In such an event, the previous point shall be nullified until such a time as it again applies.

    -          The Ireheart Hold and its ruling council shall be completely ruled and managed by said council, answering only to the rightfully crowned Grand King who has renewed and signed these accords.

    -          The lands and holdings of the Ireheart Clan and its Elder Council will hold to the laws of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan but shall be entirely policed by their own entities. On this point, military and political entities other than that of the Ireheart Clan may not hold jurisdiction within the lands and holdings of the Ireheart Clan.

    -          Should a lawbreaker be present within the holdings of the Ireheart Clan, they may be captured by Ireheart law enforcement but must be extradited to the Grand Kingdom for their punishment.

    -          The Elder Council will also reserve the right to expel and bar anyone they deem unfit to remain in the Ireheart Hold save for the Grand King.

    -          Any request made of the Elder Council must be discussed by The Council as for whether or not it is of importance or goes toward the well being of the Ireheart Hold and its residents. Any request made of The Council that is determined to have a negative correlation with the will of The Council can and will be denied if it seen fit.

    -          In clarification, this term is set with the idea of refusing requests for equipment free of charge as well as any form of legislation that directly hinders The Council and Ireheart citizenry.

    -          At no point shall the Grand King force the citizenry of the Ireheart Clan into military service nor shall he/she make demands that the work and creations of Ireheart Clan members be turned towards the ends of militarization, conflict, or violence.

    -          The lands and holdings of the Ireheart Clan will identify themselves as those of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and fly the banner of the Grand Kingdom alongside those of the Clan.

    -          Should it become necessary for the Elder Council or the Grand King to add, edit, or remove a term from this document, it shall require the agreement of both parties to make such a change.

    Signed,

Zahrer Irongrinder, Grand King of The Grand Kingdom of Urguan and Tribune of the Urguani People, Sovereign of the Dwedmar and Vicar of The Brathmordakin, Rightful King of All Urguan and Her Territories, Bearer of The Relics of Urguan and Barradin, Lord of Kal’Omith, The Citadel of Arcadia, Jarnstrand, Kjellingrad, Khaz’Varekan, and the Westmarch, Arch-Runelord and Master of The Kal’Varak, Hero of The Brathmordakin, Arbiter of The Age of Industry, Slayer of Setherian and The Dharok.

Aldal Ireheart, Clan Father of The Ireheart Clan, Chosen of Kjellos, Lord of Kal’Arakh and Vaerhaven, Master of Da Sirk oz Varak, Former High Prophet and High Remembrancer, Most Pure of Urguan By Reputable Decree of The Ancient Scriberfolk.

  7. Aldal fights back tears as he reads his letter, lounging in a battered leather chair near the hearth.

"Yeh were there fehr me from day one, welcomin' meh back home, allowin' meh teh roise up deh ranks once more. Oi oversaw yehr campaign teh become king, an' yeh became a great one. But mos' o' all, yeh were mah frien'. Mah best frien', an' one oi will miss more than aneh other. Oi long teh see yeh agin, an' will live as yeh would 'ave wanted meh to."

  8. The map's not even out yet, so I'm not going to start going off about what it's missing or what I want, etc, etc. Fact is, it's not released, so we don't know what it'll be like. Accusations that it'll be terrible are  practically unfounded. The selections for the team are great, and all of them are capable of making 6.0 something really memorable. I have full faith in you guys, and you have my respect for taking all of the hate and abuse on the chin and pulling through with your plans, despite how ungrateful this community can be at times.

  9. Aldal gathers the members of Clan Ireheart within the feasting hall, standing to address them with a solemn expression marking his features.

"After young Grovik Ireheart made an impetuous decision tehr insult multiple parties at deh senate meetin' today an' broke a vow teh apologise fehr deh same insults, havin' lost a duel en which he was represented by another, oi 'ave made my decision. The lad 'as made eht abundantly clear that 'e is nae fit tehr bear the Ireheart name, an' until deh day he returns and does everythin' in 'is power teh amend 'is wrongdoings, my verdict will beh such."

  10. ~=~ A Summons To Clan Ireheart ~=~

Aldal Ireheart strode through the long grass and snowy berms of the dwarven mountains, long before the sun had even reared its fiery head above the peaks; a habit which he had maintained for many countless years without fail. Long walks like these before the dawn were excellent for waking himself up and refreshing his weary body for the long day ahead. The aging dwed clambered up the last ridge, staring down with obvious unrest at the remains of Kal’Arakh. He had poured so much of himself into recreating Yolwin in the image of his Clan, and its destruction had left him hollow inside. He made his slow descent towards the ruins of the settlement, marching slowly with grim determination between unstable towers of debris.

“Cursed gobbo,” Aldal practically spat as he stared at the remains of his throne room. Within the fallen rock, he knew, stood the skeleton of a glorious chair with his name on it. But it had all been washed away in the flames that had torn through the city like a scourge. Filled with white-hot anger, the Ireheart Lord flung his fist with immense power at the nearest half-shattered, wooden column. The beam cracked and splintered with the force of his knuckles, collapsing in a shower of dust. Suddenly, Aldal laughed, loud and harsh. The wintery, silent air of the mountains, still thick with notes of charred wood and smoke, was carved open by the dwarf’s belly-laugh, which seemed to echo off every nearby object. “Kal’Arakh may stand nae longer,” he proclaimed suddenly, a wry smile curling the edges of his lips, “But I do.”

Aldal Ireheart rushed back to his study in Kal’Sitarae, pushing aside heaps of writings and studies on all manner of topics in favour of a small, oaken chest. He dragged the chest to the centre of his desk, throwing open the lid and inspecting its contents. Within the box, a small stack of dry scrolls was packed neatly, as well as a rubber seal, a sealing candle, a pot of ink and a stunning quill, fashioned from the feather of an Ire-bird. With renewed fury and enthusiasm, the old dwed began to write letters, addressed to anyone of Ireheart descent and sealed with his personal emblem: a sword set upright before an open book, its pages flying in an unseen wind.

“To The Descendants of Yavok Ireheart,

I write to you from my study in Kal’Sitarae. Our Clan has an ancient and noble history, punctuated by countless tales and misadventures that enrich Urguani culture as a whole. Our people are honourable dwedmar who have always been revered within the Grand Kingdom. However, our numbers have declined of late, as many of our members have sought refuge in the Brathmordakin and have made pilgrimages following the Rebellion. Kal’Omith has been retaken, and the city thrives. Once again, Urguan has become a shining jewel on Tahn, visited regularly by tourists from far and wide, whether to peruse its exceptional marketplaces or to learn of the lives of the dwedmar. Now is the time, now more than ever, for our people to unite once more and fulfil our roles within our society.

Many of you have heard of the tragedy which befell our Clan’s hold at the hands of vicious attackers. I wish that I could turn back time and save Kal’Arakh, but I am no god. However, it was not until a recent walk within the ruins of the city that I realised the potential it holds for reconstruction. Out with the old, and in with the new, I say; we shall scrape bare the slate of the mountain, wiping away the foul influence of the gobbo invaders once and for all. As a Clan, banded together in hope and joy, we shall fill the void where Kal’Arakh stood, and a great fortress for the Ireheart Clan shall rise. I request the aid of all sons and daughters of Yavok Ireheart in this pursuit. You will be welcomed back to the Kingdom with open arms, and I hope with all of my heart that our glorious renewal will encourage you to remain here.

With Yemekar’s Blessing, I shall see you all soon, my kin.

    Lord Aldal Ireheart.”

Content with his work, the Ireheart Clan Father pratically skipped out onto the ancient cobblestones of Kal’Omith, making his way around to each and every one of the city’s noticeboards. At each point, he stopped and pinned the following notice with the use of his trusty mallet:

    A Gap In Our Records

Following close study of my Clan’s marriage and birth records, it seems that several inconsistencies have occurred. As a result of this, many Irehearts may have been conceived in the past century and not noted as being members of the family. If you think that you may be an Ireheart, or bear any of the traits of an Ireheart dwed, address a bird to myself and I shall endeavour to discover your parentage.

    Clan Lord Aldal Ireheart

  11. Aldal Ireheart sits in his study, but the roaring fire of the hearth brings him no warmth. He fills a mug with ale from the oaken tap, sipping the froth with a frown as he ponders the words of Mesmodyne.

"These are dark toimes indeed, toimes oi 'oped never to see again," the old dwed sighs.

  12. Aldal Ireheart sighs upon hearing the news, a few tears making a steady path down his weathered face.

"An' so passes a great friend o' moine. Oi'm glad that oi got to spend some o' 'is last days wif 'im, performin' together as "Beardling Without A Cause." Deh group won't be deh same wifoot ol' Magic Mouth."
