Definitions
What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is the act of taking on
the identity of a person or object, imaginary or otherwise, and assuming the
subject's personality, and manner. Roleplaying also consists of speaking in
other languages, using accents, and the use of certain words specific to
race/locale/time period etc. and acting out pre meditated or historical dialogs
and actions.
What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is the use of outside sources
to gain an advantage over other players, or using things such as the name tags
above players heads in game to “see” them around corners or behind walls for
example.
What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is the unsporting action
of forcing emotes on other characters, or making your character have impossible
or god like abilities, dominating other players, without proper roleplay, and
forcing other players into situations they don’t want to get involved in.
Example: Someone instantly stabbing an opponent , without giving them a chance
to counter.

Give us a brief description of their life - their story,
childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Tallanvor was born on
the 38th of Snows Maiden in the warm fields of Solace, as Leif Overland, to
Devon Overland Senior, and Ruby Overland. His siblings included an older
brother, Devon Junior, and two younger sisters, Huntress and Dawn. He spent his
early life at his parent’s farm, working and hunting to bring in some extra
Minas. A neighbour and friend of, Devon, introduced him to archery which he
took to quite well, and he practiced it in his spare time. He even tried his
hand at a few competitions with his brother. Leif was twelve when he and his
family, along with the nations of Asulon travelled to Elysium where they
settled down again to farm the land.
At 17 he left his family home, now in Anthos to live and work
around Kingston. He spent most of the time living in the forests around the
city, hunting and trying to sell pelts and meat. To make a better living, he
enlisted in the army of the Holy Oren Empire and stayed there for four years. He
met an inn keeper’s daughter, Alysa Alta’are who lived in Kingston, and decided
to leave. He changed his name to Tallanvor, and dropped his family name. He married
her and they travelled Anthos for two years, then returned to Kingston. Her
family was an old one, and was once quite influential in Solace, as there were
no male heirs, he decided to take on the family name and stay in Kingston. Six
months ago, Alysa, and five other inhabitants were killed when an elf, learning
magic, accidentally set fire to the market place she was visiting. He now
travels the woods of Anthos and hopes to locate his brother and sisters if
possible.
What are they like (personality)?: - Tallanvor is fiercely
loyal, and protective of those close to him, he is quiet, slightly on the shy
side, and dislikes being around too many people, he can sometimes be rather
withdrawn. He is mostly very level headed, and calm, he is not prone to anger,
however, certain things will potentially bring out a darker side. These things
include unfair and dishonourable actions, corruption, ill treatment of the
disadvantaged, women, and children. Tallanvor is mildly racist towards elves,
because of the experience with the elf mentioned in the above description. He
also has a deep aversion to magic, and refuses to have anything to do with it.
He does well in high pressure situations, and will always try to stay calm and
diffuse the situation before it gets out of hand. Tallanvor has a problem with
being proven wrong, and is very stubborn, although, will give in to save
friendships, and the like. He is very independent, and will not stand for
having his freedom trod upon.
What are their ambitions?: - Tallanvor is not very
ambitious, but one day hopes to gain some influence within the kingdom of Oren,
so as to establish a fort and a small garrison for said fort. He has also
considered opening an Inn or Tavern.
Do they have any special skills?: - He is an experienced
hunter and woodsman, proficient in field craft and herbal lore. He is also a
competent archer, swordsman, and is more than able to defend himself.
What are their weaknesses?: - Tallanvor is probably too
stubborn for his own good, does not like being proven wrong, told what to do or
restricted in his freedoms. He can become withdrawn and isolated, and will
avoid other people, his dislike of magic has lead to some problems due to his
inability to counter it and his slight racism towards elves has also caused him
problems.
Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot
yet!)?: - Tallanvor is of average height (5'11"), lean and light. Most of
the time, he wears a dark green set of robes and a hood, to blend in with his
environment. Sometimes, when visiting cities or other populated areas, he will
wear a dark grey version of the same robes. Tallanvor carries a small array of
personal weapons, a few throwing knives situated on his shoulders and boots, a
small, thin dagger, a long thin sabre and a long bow.
