The Orlean Confederation

The Great Cleansing had happened, many years ago, the majority Cajun Francophones people has not forgotten their faith, as they believe that Saint Louis has appeared to them in the great exodus to New Orleans. The Archon-General ordered the reconstruction of a pro-cathedral, in the skeleton of an old church and the immediate election of a Bishop by the left over priests.  

The council of Archons debated on the recent reports from the scouts. The ill scouts were quarantined and treated as best as possible, another party is sent to talk with the Creole pagans ((Will RP with a Mod)). The vertibird and plasma weapons are taken back to New Orleans for repairs and fixing. ((Mod Please))

A Admiralship is created as the fleet starts to grow. A old sailor named Thomas de la Havre, a half cajun half american, is elevated into said position, his first task is to explore the coast of Florida, or how the Archons call it,  Nouveau Terre de Saint Louis.

The Ship would carry about 70 people, and Orlean biggest export, Brahims, be it live or dead. They’d also carry some standard weaponry for trading and self defence.

As the ship sailed through the coast of Nouveau Terre de Saint Louis, they saw smoke rise near the beach of Panama City, they see movement and people, they decide to land and go to the town, the large posse comes to find a small policing force, Thomas steps towards the front of his caravan, he says;

“Bonjour. Comment ça va?”

He may not be the spoon balancer we need but he is the one we deserve.

The Orlean Confederacion

The Orlean Confederation is a Federative Republic of several towns in the old state of Louisiana and Alabama, the Federative Towns are; New Orleans (The Capital), Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Gulfport. Each elect an Archon and each one come to the capital city to act as the governing body. A Archon-General is also elected, he has the power to veto any bill that the other Archons may want to pass.

The Orlean Confederation was first created by François de La Plagne, a Francophone Vault Dweller. After the Vaults opened François was the Overseer of the vault, after plenty of wandering around he and his people settled in New Orleans and formed the Orlean confederation. Soon after many survivors went to establish a better life in New Orleans, since it was relatively safer than the radioactive swamps that cover most of the state, most of them however were french speaking men and women, making the prominent language Louisiana French, followed closely by English. After the influx of civilians the City State expanded its influence incorporating more town into it’s republic.

After the establishment of the republic, the Confederation started taking a more mercantile route, taxing anyone that doesn’t have a license to cross the mississippi river.


 

Action

Archon-General Thierry Johnson has been newly elected, a merchant by trade the Archon decides it is best to start building a trading fleet for the Republic.

Mostly built with wood from the vast swamps (some of which dried up after the nukes fell) and some scrap steel. ((Mod Needed on how it would go/how much time it would take)).

The Archon-General also seemed fit to raise a militia of 5.000 soldiers. Armed with Hunting Rifles and Colt 10mms, although some men may prefer to use other weapons like the standard shotgun or a magnum instead of the 10mms that is also allowed.

By the order of the Archons in the council, trade requests are sent to the Smithsonian Republic, The Lone Star Republic and the Kingdom of Harvard.

                                                          

Scouts are also sent to those counties to scout out possible independent towns and important locations like military bases and electric power plants. ((Mod needed)).

Jürgen frowns deeply, as he looks at Ragnar's body laying in a pew in the Geldren Chapel. He sighs, as he does the sign of lorraine and mutters a silent prayer. Malcolm looked onto his lands, great pastures laid ahead, great for sheep herding. A royal decree is passed through the lands, the sigil of Clan Dùn Chailleann is stamped in every paper. Landowners are rewarded to raise good quality wool, be the reward monetary or more lands. A scottish emissary is sent to Venice to start to sell the Scottish wool.

Bells rang across the city of Stirling as a royal wedding ensued, King Malcolm had wed the Sassenach King’s sister. A 3 day feast ensued where even the peasantry feasted. But while the feast ensued the King sent messages to the Ulster counties, Uli Neil, Oriel and Ulidia, saying that if they payed vassalage to the King as Clans, they get all the benefits of Scottish Clans, and utmost protection from any foreign aggression.
