He sit down next to his coleagues who, differently from him, would be dressed in fine red robes while Idelfonse in simple brown, monk attire. 

"God bless good Pontiff Sixtus." Idelfonse mutters silently as he reads the missive.

Kingdom of the Belgiae

Augustiae, current seat of power of the Kingdom.

The Belgiae had emerged from the claws of roman tyranny, yet, as much as they hate to admit it, they became much more roman. Augustiae as the Belgiae called it was a small city by roman standards, yet it was the beating heart of the kingdom, built on coastal trade and farmings, with rich ores coming from Brecwm it supplemented Augustiae’s position.

Brennus woke up from a strange dream, his wife by his side. He took a few breaths, his breath making a cloud in front of him. He got up, stretching. He looked through the window and saw a snowy Augustiae. He looked back at his bedside, his wife shuffled slightly as he had left the bed. He called a few servants and got dressed. He dressed in a mixture of roman and celtic dress. Incorporating pelts with the rich silks of his old roman patrons. He made his way through the old forum which now served as his palace. Several courtiers bowed their head to their Rex as he made his way to the now council chambers of his kingdom. There stood many chieftains, some more celtic than others, and in the middle stood the Bishop. They all bowed their heads to the King, and Brennus, out of courtesy bowed his head to his chiefs and bishop.

“Right, what is there to be discussed then?” The king asked, a certain monotony in his voice as he’s asked this question plenty of times.

The king knows the importance of good food stocks, thus he orders many acres of forest to be chopped down in the two main cities. Augustiae and Brecwm to make space for farmland. (3 actions points).

Brennus orders the chief of Brecwm, the father of his wife, to keep the mine workers, working, till the feast of nativity, so that the iron productivity will remain the same through the season. With this surplus of iron several ships would be sent to the land of the Gauls in an attempt to trade Iron to them. (3 action points).

Short Backstory: After the retreat of the roman empire from the isles, the remnants of the tribes that once inhabited the taken regions mostly abandoned their latinized ways. The Belgiae didn't. Though they did not consider themselves romans much of their conquerors languages and practices remained in their land. The upper echelons of society often used a mix of latin and the native language to speak with eachother. Due to the mix between roman and celtic cultures the Belgiae were quick to adopt christianity, further cementing they're roman ties. Although what some might consider the "nobility" of the Belgiae were latinized the commonfolk were another story. Most of them kept their celtic vernacular with heavy latin influence, they dressed in simple, but practical garments and lived a simple life with a rich mixture of mostly celtic but with some roman anc christian culture intermixed. After the conversion of the Belgiae the only thing keeping the different chieftain was the local church. Bishop Bricius called the Belgiae chieftains to convene in Augustiae to elect their king. Though many went some didn't, wishing to keep their autonomy. After some dicussion, Caratacos was chosen amongst the chieftains and crowned as King of the Belgia, given the title Rex. Though the realm of the Belgiae was still not united, the chiefs that did not participate in the council were free from rule. Rex Caratacos waged war against the chiefs, striving to unite his realm. He was killed in a battle, his reign shortlived. His son ascended to the throne of the small realm and finished his father's conquest. He was crowned by the Bishop shortly after finishing said conquests.

Oh, not to forget about the holy fire you're able to summon. If I'm not mistaken even an average paladin can't do that, only a Keeper. They instead can only use Xan's mist to forge weapons, but still, ridiculously overpowered.

All morality, and therefor, law comes from and only God, even the secular law of the realm as it’s roots in our supreme judge, and even the heathens tend to follow the natural law itself rooted in God. Now that we, dear reader, have asserted that fact that God is where morality comes from, and that morality guides law and justice, we may also fully assert that only someone, in accordance with God’s law can be truly just. How can a man who does not heed and preserve our faith be just? If the church itself falls, how can the laws of God be upheld? It is fact that if we, citizens, faithful, laity and clergy do not preserve our church, our God given institute, justice itself will fall. If a judge lives in debauchery and hedonism and does not respect the Canon’s teaching how can he respect nature itself? How can he respect the de facto way of life of every living thing? He cannot. Unless we ourselves preserve the Holy Mother church justice cannot prevail. For a citizen to be just he must follow the laws of our most merciful Creator, simply by doing that one is exercising justice in the common life, be it by being honest, helping their fellow neighbour or any other act in accordance to God’s law, for God is just and morality resides in God thus when one is moral and follows their given law he is being just.

The Portuguese Republic

Years had passed since the coup d’etat, the Junta, with the help of the Brazilian government, Portugal flourished, yet a big part of the nation opposed the nationalist government, especially since the Junta, was, increasingly in the power of José Pinto Coelho, the leader of the PNR. José Pinto Coelho pushed for the end of the Junta, and for the start of a new constituition. In 2020 the new constitution was launched, called the July Constitution, because, well, it was made public in July of 2020.

José Pinto Coelho was the first man to be made Autocrat of the republic, shortly after the election for the Senate and the Populist House were due. In 2021 the election took. Place.

Not only was the populist house in favour of the current Autocrat but so was the Senate house (Although it is suspected that much tampering with the election was done), José Coelho ruled now with maximum authority, being able to pass satisfactory laws with the consent of both houses. The country, with heed from the Falangists started a slow process of semi Syndicalisation, where there was a board of workers which along with the CEO of the company discussed what should be produced, working safety etc.

With the increase money flow from Brazil, the Autocrat orders the building of new schools, hospitals and it increased welfare checks, but only for true blooded portuguese citizens. The people were tired of the growing federalisation of the EU, they were tired of their loss of sovereignty, they were tired of the increase of immigrants, particularly the refugees of muslim descent, as they now took to the streets as the minorities felt out of place. This created a culture clash, something never seen in the nation, a them or us mentality, and it was clear that there would only be one victor of this battle, be it ‘them’ or ‘us’. Extreme rightwing groups took to the streets, Falangists, Salazarists and tamer groups such as the PNR (Partido Nacional Renovador) become highly popular. The left and liberal parties become worried, they ran propaganda and slogans such as “Say no to Fascism!” yet the people’s fury against, mainly the EU, could not be held back.

In June 2017 massive riots took place in Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Évora and other cities, a coalition of the PNR and smaller parties such as the United Falangist movement and the New Nationalist Union, said coalition called for the prime minister to step down.

António Costa, Prime Minister of the country denied to step down, calling the protestors “Brainwashed” and the leaders of the parties “Wolves in sheep’s clothing.”. Around this time a poll was done, 68% of the population agreed that the government was inadequate and should be removed in favour of either the PNR coalition or the PC (Partido Conservador).

In August of the same year the government was ousted by a branch of the GNR (Guarda Nacional Republicana), with connections to the falangist movement.

The Junta  was made up of three representatives of the PNR, two of the UF and the NNU, three from the PC, three from the military, and one from the church, the Patriarch-Cardinal of Lisbon.
