  4. I normally don't post on these, but it's something that directly effects me, so I will. I had been planning with others to start a sect of Templars for some time now and some of us are druids, this wasn't a spur of the moment thing, but something that's been in talks (Both OOC and IRP) for months now, so it is incredibly disappointing to learn our plans might be thwarted just as they're starting to actually come to fruition.

It was always explained to me by the templars in our group that Malc didn't really care about worship and just wanted to give his blessings to courageous fighters, even if they had some other magic or not. The Aspects are the same way and they don't really care if you dabble in other magics so long as you serve their purpose, of course there are incompatibilities like voidal magic and dark magic. I guess I just don't really see why Malc would say 'no lol' as long as you serve his purpose and embody his ideals.

I also am not sure the exact definition of magic stacking, but to me it always seemed like if you had two magics that stacked and compounded certain abilities, like a spook with a bunch of dark combat magic also using translo to teleport, making their combat capabilities stronger. Druid magic doesn't really have much combat capability, sure some of the spells /CAN/ be used in combat, but they're not really intended to be and the massive emote count makes it hard to justify it as well, it's more of an event magic used for cleaning things up like the ando alur hollow and stuff like that whereas templar is a melee combat magic, so I am not really sure if the magics actually serve to enhance each other in any way. (I am also not sure if this is even a consideration for why druid and templar are not compatible anymore.)

I guess I just want to say it's a bit upsetting to think the last few months of preparation and RP are going to go to waste because of this change.

  5. Change it so that Corcitura can perform a temporary ritual that lasts like an hour or two which gives them immunity to salt tests. They can perform the ritual before entering gates but if they get ambushed with a random salt test prompted by an investigation, then they'll have to be more creative to explain their way out of the situation.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Communion and Control

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Communion and control is a deific magic that is granted through the power of multiple deities known as the Aspects and is the first druidic magic you’re taught after you finish your dedicancy. Once you’re attuned you will begin to hear the voices of nature, at first it is painful, but eventually you’re trained to control it by filtering through its many sources. Druids can even compel nature to grow, shift or change in various ways with this magic.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are three sections within this magic; the first is Communion. Communion allows a druid to perceive and communicate with nature in more in-depth ways than a normal descendant could; for example, a druid casts beastspeak, which allows them to convey mental images, intentions and even words to natural beasts and fae creatures. More importantly, these creatures can express these things back to the druid. Communion focuses a lot on perceiving nature as well, and is not specifically used to communicate. It might be used to filter through different sources of nature, such as focusing on a single blade of grass, or even to see when a druid’s eyes are blinded like in the case of Greensight.

Control is exactly as it sounds; it contains spells that are used to manipulate nature in various ways. From growing a sapling into an adult tree, to creating an entling companion that can assist the druid in specific natural tasks. A druid can even use a spell like gleaning to mold a handle from a tree for crafting a tool.

Lastly, there is the section called infusion which deals with the transfer of druidic and natural energies. For example, a druid could enchant an amulet made from natural materials with a minor form of their spells. One might imbue the ability powersharing so that they may utilize it later akin to a battery. Powersharing would normally be used by one druid to fuel another druid’s spell. Infusion also contains attunement and unattunement, which is how new druids are made and how unruly druids are dealt with.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    Beastspeak

Talim was a bit hesitant as he reached his hand out towards the gorilla, and closed his eyes for a moment. when those steely eyes opened once more, they were alight with a golden glow. Talim’s gaze rested on the angry gorilla as it beat it's chest in an intimidating manner and began to walk towards the helpless child. The druid first opened his connection, preparing to establish a conversation between him and the beast.

Talim called for the sharpshooters to put down their crossbows as the beast and druid began to communicate amongst one another. The gorilla expressed fear once that connection was received. It told Talim that it wishes to protect its territory and with that, the druid attempted to pacify the wild animal by sending feelings of tranquility, as well as a few words. “Stop, you must trust me.”

There was an unpredictable moment before the gorilla would calm itself down. After all, Talim had previously established a mutual respect for the creature, and felt as though the bond aided in the situation. The sharpshooters lowered their crossbows and sighed in relief as the young elven child returned to his mother.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    Powersharing

Talim paced about, clearly upset over something. He beckoned for his student to come closer. “Over here, this will be a good lesson for you, and it will ease my burdens.”

The student stood up and approached his teacher. “What should I do, Talim?” he asked with a cocked brow.

Talim continued to pace angerly. “First thing, I want you to connect with your gifts as practiced.”

And so the student nodded, his ears wiggled as he focused, and his eyes began to glow with a dark red hue. “What should I do now?”

Talim paused for a moment to give instructions. “You are going to want to focus on the druidic energy within you and bring it to pool up inside your body. Think as if you’re gathering it all into your stomach, or your chest, whatever feels strongest.” Talim nodded firmly, then went back to pacing.

“Okay, I’ll try.” The young student attempted to do as instructed, guiding the natural energies within him to course through his veins into a central place near his heart. There was some difficulty at first, given how foreign this ability was compared to their previous lessons. Though after much effort, the focused voice would say, “I think I got it, what’s next?”

Talim chuckled, but quickly went back to his unpredictable gait. “We’ll see if you got it or not. Now, continue to allow it to well, and when you cannot contain it any longer, try to send it outward, toward me. This ability can help sooth your fellow druids, s, see if you can make it work on me.”

“Send it?” The student looked apprehensive, but tried to do as instructed. He reached an arm out and began sending the natural energies he welled up towards his teacher. as the energy traveled towards Talim, it appeared as a translucent, amber aura that calmed him, as if coldness was removed from him that might allow him to relax.

Talim eased his shoulders as the energies surged to him. He let out a sigh of relief as the burden of anger seemed to lessen within him. “Ayla, student, you did very well. I want you to know, it can also be used in less mundane ways, and when an opportunity arrives, maybe we can train you in this as well, but the spell is called powersharing and it’s mostly used to help power other druid’s spells after they have been drained from their own energies. Still, I think this way to use it is unique, and a bit more niche.”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

First thing to do is explain what they did wrong and how to do it correctly and ask them to apologize to whoever they powergamed on. If the student continues to powergame after my corrections and warnings, I would inform the ST and see how to proceed afterwards.

Azdrazi are by far the weakest CA right now, I hope you do know that. All their previous abilities could be blocked by wearing armor, having an Athin cloak or even just a shield to ward away fire. All the while having rather fatal weaknesses to some stuff if they're ever caught lacking ?

Also, have you ever heard of this vital weakness to most CAs? It's not locked behind a rare lore material, nor is it a magic. . .

    15thC Munition Crossbow - lashed - Tod's Workshop

That's not a weakness for Azdrazi, that's a weakness for everyone. Everyone getting shot by an arbalest or a crossbow is going to get hurt but not everyone who gets hurt by it has all of the extra upsides that an Azdrazi is going to have. Does this somehow hurt Azdrazi more then a normal descendant? I must be missing something.

Suppose it's the perfect time to address the lack of weaknesses in the original piece then with this re-write. Adding new abilities and buffing other ones calls for some negatives in the opposite direction I think instead of just changing one weakness. I gave a lot of constructive feedback about how I felt it could be achieved. I have never been a fan of the only mundane counter to things being locked behind a rare lore material, or being the softest metal which is completely ineffective against plate clad enemies.

  10. Weaknesses really need some work I think. Bundling up removing their weakness to natural cold is very silly and not actually a weakness at all since normal descendants also need to bundle up in the cold because it makes them uncomfortable.

Weakness to magical cold takes too long in my opinion. If you're getting hit by 5 cold spells, you're doing something wrong, and normal descendants don't have magic in the first place, so losing access to magic isn't really a weakness either. I would suggest making the final effect happen after 3 emotes being exposed to magic cold.

Also, I would be surprised if a normal descendant could survive 5 icicles being shot like crossbow bolts into their bodies, so does this type of projectile also trigger the weakness if it hits armor that the Neph wear? I imagine that it would leave bruises underneath plate armor, so that would likely count as a wound caused by frost magic.

Thanhium seems fine where it is, if it's not broke don't fix it.

Alchemical frost should hurt them in my opinion, same as magical frost, as far as I am aware, the summoned ice/frost from Voidal magic is no different then normal ice and this would add weaknesses that are more mundane, but also not completely common.

I also have worries about buffing polymorph as I have seen this abused many times, even with external sources of disguising by the Azdrazi community.

The strength buff is another thing I think was removed for good reason and I think it should stay gone, even in this form.

Also why are ashwood tree seed not be allowed as it doesn't require ST overview to acquire now?

I can probably answer that as the original lore writer for Ashwood trees! It's never ended well when outside communities mess around with the Ashwood tree, it's usually a headache best left avoided in my opinion. There has been many instances where nature CA's try to use Ashwood's invulnerable properties when they should not, the immunity to fire, etc. Also, the community who's culture reveres  it would probably bash anything like that because it's hardly ever done respectfully, even by staff members.

  12. I left the CT for several reasons, the main one was I was taking a break from LoTC and didn't want to just sit idle on the team. I do think however, there was many issues with the teams recruitment and lax nature, I hardly saw anyone get kicked from the team, even when many did so little, or absolutely nothing. I also think the team was often directionless and our admin did little to give us things to work on.

People would constantly moan about being called the toddler team and focus on ways to not be called that, which while annoying that we were being called names by other teams, should never have been a serious discussion. If the team had just put in work and done what they were supposed to do, we would not have been insulted by other teams.

Monk Guidance's often seemed really shit, and every time I witnessed them, the monk just disappeared after guiding a player to the gates of either their own faction, or the faction that was on their application. There needs to be a better system for this, and this should be a priority, giving new players a good first experience is so important for their retention.

CT events were always very cringy in my opinion, and I never wanted to take part in them. I suggested more events that fit into the lore for the server, specifically for Wilven Monks, but often the team settled for silly easter egg hunt events that made no sense in roleplay. Ultimately this is a fantasy roleplay server, and events done by the CT should have to fit into the lore for the server.

Why the **** does CT do pastes? LOL

Ultimately, I felt the team was carried by competent managers who seemed unhappy with Hogo as their admin, as they all started to leave, so did I.

  13. "The right choice, ultimately, most wise ne to risk their recent prosperity." Muttered Talim. "I am confident Norland will continue to flourish under Odin and hope they focus inward now that they are in the good graces of their highland brethren."

  14. I think the issue more lies on the staff that is unable or unwilling to cull inactive settlements and nations. The Vale has their gates closed 24/7 and we have never had activity issues, so I do not think forcing people to keep their gates open is an effective solution to this problem.

  15. Talim stood next to his ikurnamon tree, and peered out to the water to reflect, occasionally watching the dolphins and boats that passed by them.

LOOKS AMAZING, GOOD WORK! Seriously surprised at how fast you pumped this out and how much quality went into it! Looking forward to seeing them around the Vale! Also, just amazing visuals and formatting, massive props.

  16. CLASSY! +1 I love that anyone can learn these if they're a fae, it stops smaller groups from circlejerking the lore and then the lore dying because two people know it and they quit.

Absolutely love these flavorful potions and I am excited to see them in game, lots of flavor, very balanced and very well done piece. Top notch quality, cannot give enough support!

  17. Full removal.

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

North of Rimeveld and past an accumulation of snow banks and pine, a glacial kuila crystal had been removed from its’ cluster and sent south. This individual spire takes on the rough shape of an icicle, one that would fit in the palm of its user's hand. The crystal appears snow-white, and semi-translucent in nature with a hyssop embedded within. Despite its glass-like sharpness, this piece of kuila bears the imbuement and energies of a number of Druidic gifts. Should one hold the gem, an intolerable heat could be felt from the sheer amount of essence the shard holds. The kuila glows a bright purple hue once it is charged through a kuila ritual circle, emulating the color of a vibrant hyssop flower. A Druid may connect and Powershare to initiate the crystal's enchantment. Upon activation, Tanila’s Blessing gradually releases a lavender, wisping spell capable of degrading the casing around a voidal tear.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

The kuila crystal is white when inert and uncharged. Nine (9) Druidic ‘Powersharers’ are required to surge their gifts and energies into the gemstone in order to recharge the item of its abilities. Such influx of essence will leave the nine Druidic ‘Powersharers’ drained and incapable of using their magic for seven (7) days following the completion of a recharge. In addition, these nine Druids will also experience fatigue and weakness, which gradually over the course of the week, will recover.

Once charged, the item becomes purple in color and is unbearably hot to touch due to the sheer amount of energy it holds. The infused kuila crystal is intended to combat against voidal tears, specifically, unleashing a steady, slow stream of energy outwards directed at the casing/frame of the voidal tear. The gradual expelling of the infused gems' energies and abilities will safely close the tear over the course of six (6) Powersharing emotes. After the kuila crystal is fully expended of its essence, the item cannot be recharged for one to three (1-3) months, depending on the tier of the voidal tear. If one tries to recharge it beforehand, the gemstone will shatter, becoming null of its previous power.

Upon the safe destruction of the voidal tear the large amounts of natural energies would start to heal the immediate landscape the tear had started to taint, leaving behind many hyssop flowers if the environment allows for this, otherwise it will just rapidly heal to a state similar to that before the corruption took place.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    Basic Redlines

    • The item cannot be used to detect or metagame the locations of voidal tears

    • The light given off by this item is not capable of blinding people and is purely aesthetic.

    Use Redlines

    • One must utilize protective equipment such as gloves or gauntlets in order to hold the item once charged

    • The individual utilizing the gemstone must connect and cast as they would with the current redlines of Druidic Communion and Control, for the ability ‘Powersharing’ in particular

    • Should the casters connection break during the use of the gemstone, the process in closing the tear must begin from the start of the six emote count

    • If an individual steps before the stream of energy, the energy itself will be unhindered, the individual unscathed, and the essence can still reach the target destination

    Recharge Redlines

    • The gemstone requires nine (9) Druids ‘Powersharing’ in order to recharge the item.

    • Should there be less than nine Druids ‘Powersharing’, the item will not successfully recharge and remain null of use

    • The act of recharging the kuila crystal must occur in a place of immense, Druidic natural energies ie; Fae Ring

    • ‘Powersharers’ must follow the proper emote count as stated in the Communion & Control lore, depending on their tier.

    • Should any of the ‘Powersharers’ connections break, they must restart the recharging ritual from the beginning

    • After successfully charging the item, the nine ‘Powersharers’ will be physically weak and will not be able to cast any magic for the following (1) week.

    Destruction Redlines

    • Any mundane method of destroying a kuila crystal may shatter, and destroy the item

    • The reaction of completely shattering the gemstone happens immediately upon destruction, with an explosion of Druidic energies that causes a surge of natural growth in a 30x30 block radius.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

    Creation Ritual

A chunk of kuila, no larger than the size of an orange, is placed at the center of a mound of kuila crystal dust. Connected at three points originating from the pile of dust and the raw gem, are lines of kuila, crystalized powder, that meet each respective ‘Blight Healer.’ All of such will be done within the confines of a Fae Ring, or any area that serves an abundance of natural, Druidic energies.

    Spoiler

    97c35611810545c564f630fd756b0af0.png

The three lines of kuila dust acts as a conductor for the Druidic energies that are being sent forth. This process and set up allows the energy to slowly feed into the crystal so that it does not explode during Druidic infusion.

The current Blight Healing lore does not have any specific ability that allows Druids to purge or seal voidal tears, therefore, this infusion, on top of the empowerment of those additional energies coming from nine (9) minimum ‘Powersharers,’ provides an opportunity for the creation of this artifact. The combination of the Blight Healing imbuement of two (2) enchantments of Druidic Purging and one (1) enchantment of Druidic Singing, along with the surge of Druidic energies and natural energies from the Fae Ring, may provide an enchanted item with the purpose of slowly sealing off a voidal tear.

    Recharging Ritual

    Following the successful use of Tanila's Blessing, the gem will fall into a dormant stage, unable to be recharged depending on the voidal tear tier size. Below outlines these specific cooldowns;

Voidal Tear Tier Progression Recharge Cooldowns

Tier 1 (Volatile Stage) - 2 weeks recharge cooldown

** (Justification, Tier 1 voidal tears are weak enough that the casing can be broken by mundane means without any taint repercussions, as per the voidal tear lore cited below)

Tier 2 (Immature Stage) - 1 months recharge cooldown
Tier 3 (Unnatural Stage)  - 2 months recharge cooldown

Tier 4 (Matured Stage) - 3 months recharge cooldown

Once the proper cooldown is met, three Druids may attempt to infuse their energies and enchantments into Tanila's Blessing. They must do so through meditating within a Fae Ring, and with the magic Blight Healing and Infusion. The current Communion & Control, and Blight Healing lore does not have any specific ability that allows Druids to charge, or even recharge, kuila crystals with the power to perform such an act. Kuila crystals, as the lore states, act as a reservoir of Druidic energies which can enhance one's essence. The rationale behind nine Druids using ‘Powersharing,’ is to provide enough energy that allows them to recharge the crystal, and thus, the infusion.

    Recharge Ritual Guidelines

    Spoiler

A minimum of nine (9) Druidic ‘Powersharers’ are required to perform the Recharge Ritual. These Druids will congregate within a place of abundant natural energies. Much like the Creation Ritual, a similar use of the kuila crystal dust will act as a conductor from each nine of the Druidic ‘Powersharers’ to a mound where the uncharged shard rests. The Druids will conjure a well of essence and surge it forth toward the kuila crystal. This action will, within the proper emote count for Druidic Powersharing, recharge the crystal of its enchantment and ability. As the process goes on, each Druid will experience fatigue and weakness. Once a successful Recharge Ritual occurs, these nine Druids will be unable to cast their magic for one (1) week.
