  1. Robin couched his lance as he charged forth with his mounted NORLANDIC brothers and his King, the Elf screamed out in unison "IRON FROM ICE!" and brought the lance to directly smash into one of the archers in the flank of the Svarlandic formation which killed the ranger instantly with a crunching noise, his lance splintered into two pieces. The Volarynesian Elf dropped his lance and lifted his daemonsteel blade overhead, causing carnage upon the Svarlandic formations, harassing them with his horse, by the end of the battle, he'd killed eight of them personally, five of which were rival mounted combatants.

After the carnage, he was tempted to give chase, but he was exhausted and drenched in sweat and blood and his allies were injured, he began using his horse which had miraculously survived the entire battle to transport the wounded to the makeshift clinic, staying behind to make sure his allies survived their wounds, nodding off as the Snow Elven medics worked to revive and repair his Norlandic brothers.

Finally, Robin took his trophies from his kills and rode home in his filth where he took a nice hot bath for his aching, sore bones, having to replace the water once or thrice until the water no longer turned crimson.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Alchemy is the art of identifying, extracting and mixing signs and symbols in order to create complex and unique concoctions from mundane or sometimes not so mundane reagents, these 'potions' can be used in various useful ways. The alchemical mixtures which can take the form of liquids oils or other consumables are incredibly tedious to brew and gather materials for and o begin learning this magic, you must learn to identify the symbols of each herb so that you can extract and purify them later, once you have the knowledge of what potential a herb holds, you can then extract these symbols through various methods depending on what type of sign you need. Lastly there is the matter of actually mixing the potions, some potions require specific instructions while others are easier to mix and it does not matter the order you mix the brew in.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There's three main processes for alchemy which I briefly outlined earlier, they are:

    Identification

This is the process of learning what potential an alchemy reagent holds, one would break down a component to gain this knowledge, studying the herb to learn exactly when and how it should be used, a student must have a teacher (or follow written instruction) to help them do this process until they progress to tier 2.

    Extraction

This is the process of extracting the required signs and symbols from a reagent, this can be achieved in many different ways depending on what sign is called for in the potion, for example, the mundane process for extraction is much different then the one for fire signs. Each herb has it's own signs and symbols affixed and different potions call for different methods and herbs to meet it's needs.

    Mixing

Lastly there is mixing, the process that turns signs and symbols into a useful concoction, once you have extracted your symbols, you add all of the components in the correct order (if there is one.) to your base potion and then you have your finished product.

There is also other rare forms of alchemy such as Alteration Alchemy or Warforging which requires you to be taught the alchemy by someone else before you can brew the potions.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Robin grabs out his tools and reagents, one cutting of saffvil and jailor's moss, a bit of lard and a bottle of Liquid essence, the Elf places his blue bandanna over his face to mask the smell of the saffvil and begins mixing the base of his potion together, combining the lard with his liquid essence to make an oily base for his potion, pouring the oily base into a fine circular bottle which had already been adorned with a strap so it could be affixed to a sword belt for easy use

Robin begins shredding the herbs by hand into two separate piles, adding them to his Mortar and grinding them into a fine powder and places them into two separate containers, pouring sufficient Aqua vitae into each container to saturate the powders and mix them with a ladle, after this the Alchemist would pour the mixtures into flasks and placed them over a fire, filtering and boiling the boggy brews tediously until they were once again reduced to powders. The Elf would wipe his forehead of sweat with the back of his hand and replaced his glove afterwards, preparing himself for the next step of the process.

Robin carefully began identifying and extracting his symbols with the use of his tools, A magnifying glass was used to meticulously spot his symbols while he separated them with a sieve from the chaff that remained, setting them aside until he once again needed them to mix into his base potion which was soon, the Elf took his symbols and mixed them all together, gently stirring the thick blue oily potion with a ladle until it was thoroughly mixed together, inspecting his work and nodding in satisfaction. "Looks good to me." he stated to himself as he began to head to his chest.

Finally, the Elf grabbed his corks, corker and a label with his quill and ink, he'd begin by grabbing his corker and using it to force the cork into the bottle's top, grunting softly as he forced the lid inside the lip of the bottle, just enough so that it would stay in, but not be too difficult to pull out. Afterwards, Robin would begin writing onto his potion's label, naming it "Robin's Miracle Auric Oil!" and writing all sorts of promises on the bottle, only all of them were only half true. He'd conclude by shaking the bottle a final time to make sure it was well and truly mixed.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

"Listen up now, or I'll get my sons to bash your head in, if you're wasting my time, you're wasting my money too." The Elf said, taking his blue bandanna from his forehead to tie over his mouth and nose, with a muffled voice he began speaking as he pulled out an herb that smelled like death with his gloved hand. "Now, this is Saffvil, it grows on corpses and has the Death and Chaos symbols we're going to need to brew our potion." He takes out a mundane blue and yellow flower, showing it off to his student. "And this, this is Night Glow and it grows in a couple places nearby, it contains the Light symbol we're going to need." He places each herb onto his cutting board and a single Night Glow herb for his student to follow along with. The Elf begins shredding both herbs into thin slices, observing to make sure his student did the same with their own herbs correctly, nodding as they did so.

"Now we just simply need to grind these herbs separately until they're a fine powder." The Elf would do as he said, grinding each herb up and placing them into two containers. "And now.." he adds aqua vitae to both powders, gently stirring them with a ladle. "We saturate the herbs with our Aqua Vitae.." he said, looking over his student's shoulder as they worked to make sure they were following along properly.

"Good, now we move on to the tedious part, we've got to filter and boil these herbs." He placed his herbs into two flasks and placed it over a flame with his gloved hands, filtering and boiling the concoction over and over until they were reduced once more into a fine powder. "Once this is done, we can actually identify the symbols, and I can point out what you need to identify them." he motioned for his student to follow the process, watching and preparing to correct them on any mistakes they might make along the process.

"Now, the only thing left for this lesson is to actually identify the light symbol in your powder there." The Elf began running the powders through his sieve, pointing out and separating the light symbols into a small metal container, after the tedious process, he would look up to his student and went to their work station, standing over their shoulder. "Now, let's see you do it." he stood there, observing and only helping when his student was completely lost.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

The first thing you should do is to go over it again with them, explain what they did wrong and what the correct way to do it is, ask if they have any questions and if they continue to powergame despite your explanations, then alert the staff team so they can properly deal with it.

  3. Alexandros Mareno hurriedly prepares for the auction, helping his family to move crates of items, afterwards, he'd wipe the sweat from his forehead, then run a hand through his absurdly perfect hair, which somehow, made it even more perfect then before. "Hopefully my family becomes even more rich!" said the lad, smiling the sun's smile as he took a raffle ticket for himself.

After having returned from his humanitarian efforts in Aeldin, Erik Erikson, the Ex-Northlandgrad Delivery Boy happened to find one such note in Providence. His brow raised as he read it over "Is Norbland really this desperate for citizens? I guess it doesn't help when their parchment looks like it was pissed on." He'd scoff, throwing the yellow parchment away into a sewer drain.

Robin, noticing the clear frustration of his northern brother, offers a pat on the shoulder and a solemn "There there, no need to take out your anger on Norbland, I am sure things with you will turn for the better soon."

  9. Robin reads the post with his boots kicked up on one of the corners of his table, mumbling as he reads over the Skanarri section. "Nothing about a brave Elf saving a mother and her child.. Well, I suppose it's for the best I maintain a low profile." He idly flipped through the rest of the pages of the paper as he ate his breakfast.

  10. Robin admires the work that was done for him on the blade he bought for his son, he tested the balance and his gaze ran along the intricate metal work, it was one of, if not the highest quality blade he had ever bought. "This will serve my son well." he said.

  11. [!] A letter is delivered by Osprey, the creature dropping the sealed letter from the clutches of it’s talons at the feet of any Volaren that would receive it’s message.

Dear, ____ Volaren, Our clan has been fragmented for centuries, and an alarming thought has crossed my mind, that I have many ancestors that I may not know to even exist. I am the first Elf to take the name Volaren, and among the oldest Elf of our house, and so it felt appropriate that I am the one to summon the Volaren. We are to meet in Varhelm, as Norland is our ancestral home, and I own a tavern there, which will provide free drinks to all that attend. There are, additionally, possible business opportunities to discuss and an issue I do not feel rightful solving without the involvement of other Housemen. We are to meet at (THURSDAY 7/22 7PM EST ASHWOOD TAVERN IN VARHELM)

        Sincerely, Robin Volaren.
