What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Honestly, I agree mostly with the no Explicit Roleplay Rule, because it allows for a basis of a clean and fun Roleplay experience for everyone; although all of the rules are very important. Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): I read some of the Raiding and War Rules, out of Curiosity, but I don't seem to understand them... (Maybe because I'm not on the server yet.) I should understand these more as I get into the world of LOTC :D How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: A Friend told me about the server after her Roleplay Experiences on it, and after looking into it, here I am! Definitions What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is playing another Character's thoughts, feelings and actions in a variety of situations and contexts. What is metagaming?: Using information and knowledge in Roleplay that your character would not know but you as a person knows because of an external source or 'outside universe' What is powergaming?: Powergaming is a style of Roleplay where the player does not take into consideration the Roleplaying context or lore. This includes forcing a Roleplay situation that has a definite, successful advantage to the persons character, such as in Roleplay Combat for example, where a player would Roleplay their character as "Iviras punched the Guard in the face" rather than, "Iviras attempted to punch the guard in the face." In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: Theon Blackwater Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human Character’s age: 24 Biography: Theon awoke in a cold sweat on his bed, reaching for his blade hidden in the top drawer next to his bed. His head was spinning, he had no idea what was going on, as if he were awake, but still dreaming... Looking around, he came to his surroundings, he was just awoken of the sound of the people in the next room to him in the tavern moving in for the night. Laying back on his bed, he breathed a sigh of relief as he put the blade back under the brown cloth in his drawer, before sliding it shut. He lay his head back on the straw stuffed pillows as he tried to get a decent sleep before the travelling on horseback the next day. Sliding in and out of consciousness, Theon's eyes flickered and clouded as black enveloped his mind once again...= He thought about the small village that he had his first days in, Alsace, where he lived with his Father, Eddard Blackwater, a brave and noble man, who trained in the art of Metalwork and as a Blacksmith as he traveled, serving the Lords of the Realm, and his kind and caring Mother, Olenna Blackwater, formerly Rivers, who looked after Theon and nurtured him throughout many of his early years. Theon's Father was absent for much of the day while Theon was in his early years, but still remained an inspirational figure that shaped most of his path to this day... When Theon was around the age of ten, he was given a gift of a steel dagger by his Father, as he believed that he had come to the age where he would be able to know when to use it. At that time, Theon rushed to his room, and placed the dagger under his blanket in its leather sheath, as his father told him to keep it for "Only use this in time of need..." These words rung through Theon's head for the years until he was at the age of sixteen. "In a time of need..." he said to himself every night he before he went to sleep, every night, for over six years... Eddard knew that Theon would one day need these skills to survive in the harsh outside world, so he started to teach Theon how to handle the dagger initially, but not how to fight with it, in the short few weeks after he had received the dagger. Over time, his father taught him what he knew from his years as a blacksmith for the Lords or Oren, and eventually, he became better than his father, because he was much younger and more nimble than him. During his training, Theon asked many questions of his father’s past life, and where he had learned what he was being taught. He also told many stories of the Great Kingdoms of Valinor, and the beautiful lands that he had seen. Over time, Theon explored the area around his Village, the lush fields and the vast mountains of Valinor and grew hungry for travel and to explore the neighbouring Kingdoms, and for his twentieth name day, he was entrusted with a horse by his Father, as a gift and a token from the family. Theon quickly grasped the skills of riding on horseback, and started to travel further and further away from his Village, to his mother's avail. She became worried about his safety, as he would often come in in the middle of the night, shattered after riding for hours of horseback on the road. Theon had ridden for hours to return home, and he slept for at least a day or two after returning. His Mother, Olenna watched over him until he awoke in the dark of the night. He asked his mother how long he had been asleep, and she did not reply, she only shook her head and returned to her Bedroom to sleep the rest of the night. Theon gathered his belongings from the table next to him, got dressed in his riding clothes and slept the rest for the rest of the night. Theon rode again the next day, eager to get back out to explore and get closer to some of the stories that he had been told of by his Father. But this was to be his last normal ride from his home… Theon continued along a path that he had known before, along the Kingsroad as he explored the lands; suddenly, his horse collapsed and Theon fell into the mud next to the track. His horse died of exhaustion of that very spot; and miles from home, Theon had to make a choice, return home or to continue going… He stared off into the distance, into the grey murky waste that was ahead of him. The sky was black with clouds, but Theon continued onto the road, hoping to find a way to get home… Personality Traits: Theon gained many of his Personality Traits from his Father, as he was the main influence through his teenage years, he is: Brave, Honorable and he takes care of the people that are closest to him, meaning he has a very strong idea of family. Ambitions: Theon wishes to eventually become a Skilled Fighter, and Leader of an Honorable Mercenary Guild, but he knows this path is paved with hard work and dedication, he firstly wishes to travel to the Large Kingdoms, to earn his way and make allies, as his father taught him the meaning of hard work throughout his childhood. He wishes to learn the skills necessary to learn to be a respectable Leader, and also to have children of his own in the future. Strengths/Talents: Horseback Riding - As Theon had learned this skill from the age of twenty, he is adept at mounting and riding horses in the wild. Tracking Animals – Theon stayed on the road for many days at time while riding outside of his Village; because of this, he is adept at tracking and identifying many of the animals that live near his home. Swordsmanship – Theon is adept at working with both daggers and shorter swords, although he has not been trained by a tutor, his father taught him how to fight when he received in his teenage years, with his Steel Dagger etc. Weaknesses/Inabilities: · Callous – Theon spent his early years in a small village, with not a large number of people so he is not used to having a lot of people whom he doesn’t know, which could lead to confrontation. · Cookery – Theon cannot cook for himself as his mother never taught him the abilities to be able to cook, as she always cooked for him after he hunted the food that he found while exploring. · Fighting using Larger Weapons – Theon was never trained to handle larger swords. This is no means that he cannot fight with them if the time comes, but he will be much more ineffective with it if he was to use a smaller weapon. Theon has moderately long black hair, that comes down to around an inch above his shoulders.
